Kids were away doing some sports functions. I ran into an old friend at the chapel and he talked me into coming over here. Actually quite a few people at the chapel showed up here. You can find a few nearby places to eat before coming here to quench your thirst. Because it's a saloon, why not get something Western inspired. The best options are something with rum or whiskey. A typical cocktail is about $5 with the house liquor. That's cheaper than many of these fancy places. Best place to get cheap drinks. It has many different kinds of beer, domestic and import. The weirdest business interaction ever. Driving around enjoying the beauty of the classic cars on an action packed Hot August Night, trying to find a great drink spot with an outdoor to take in the cruisers on a Friday night, I had this bar on my radar for a long time. However, walking into the bar was not a very welcoming feeling. There appeared to be two staff behind the bar we went to the side (right) nearest of where we entered. Looking at the wall menu, and taking in all of the specials. No greeting from the male attendant right in front of us, as he wiped glasses and took his time for what appeared forever (maybe approximately 6-8 minutes). I never felt so unwelcome in a place of business. I tugged on my friend's shirt and said "let's go somewhere else," when he pointed out that the bartender on the opposite end came to take our drink order. I ordered one of the specials, which was kind of sour and acidy. I enjoyed the patio area but was not enjoying the overall vibe here. Definitely so many other places to enjoy where it's not an unwelcoming feeling walking in and providing business. read more

A classy, cozy dive. Loved it. Always wanted to go inside after years of driving or walking by and I finally did on a Wednesday night. First we got Thai food at Moo Dang, duh, then walked around the corner to warm up at 40 Mile Saloon, so happy we did. Super down to earth and extremely friendly bartender. I want to say his name was Joe. He was more than generous in letting us sample their brews on tap, which was a small but good selection. I went with the dry cider from Vermont. Joe put out salty bar snacks midway thru and engaged in good conversation with us, he also bought us and everyone at the bar an Underberg because he noticed my dates last name was Berg from the credit card transaction. What a cool experience, I'd be down to hit up 40 Mile Saloon any day, heck I'd even walk 40 miles to have a beer there. read more

When we (@hutchietheband) showed up to play a show at 40 mile saloon we didn't really know what to expect because it seemed like a small and awkward place for bands to play, but within an hour we were already thoroughly impressed. The staff were super accommodating (we got a band tab - which hardly anyone does anymore). Great draft beer selection, video poker, patio and the overall vibe was really friendly and positive. The bartender was efficient making shaken drinks with fresh squeezed juice - we still never had to wait more than a minute or two for a drink. The owner even took time to personally introduce himself and buy some of our merch to help us out on the road. We would definitely play there again! Small bar on a busy street. The Yelp's Annual Whiskey Hunt brought the girls and me here on a Friday night. Twenty patrons is good, any more and the quaint bar becomes packed. There a couple of tv's to watch your sports on. Bartender was nice to everyone- his regulars and us newbies. He did a great job at explaining the whiskey flight. I believe whiskey was probably his passion. In warmer weather there is a small patio on the north side of the building. Not much parking nearby. Atmosphere - I think most people would call it a dive bar. I see rawness, bricks, wood rafters, and a steel beam with the tap list on it. I loved the vibe of the place. Eight beer taps plus a bottle list on the wall right of the bar. Food Drink - I had the Moro Oro, the reason I was here. My wife said it looked like orange juice. Moro Oro is a milk shake IPA with a focus on the blood red oranges with a hint of blueberries. Oh it was juicy, the milkshake part of the beer makes a great mouth feel. Service - What you need, a friendly bartender. Of course I talked with Ryan from Lead Dog and Jeremy from Revision. This was the third day of their beer party releases. This has become a pretty regular place for me on a Saturday or Sunday morning. It's a small bar on the inside, with a massive outdoor area. There is a pool table if that's your fancy. I sometimes get a little nervous about showing up to bars alone, but having a good bartender can totally turn a solo night into a great night.
