We went to Mellow Fellow last night with a few friends before the Reno Aces game. What a convenient location. It's literally right across the street from the Reno Aces ballpark. The vibe is open and chill. We grabbed a few drinks and split some food. The portions are very generous. We decided on nachos, a chicken apple salad wrap and crispy Brussels sprouts. The massive wrap was packed with chicken, apple slices, cranberries and fresh lettuce. Seriously, it was better than I expected. The Brussels sprouts were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a hint of a maple glaze. Our server Chelsea was super friendly and served our food in a timely manner. Honestly, Mellow Fellow feels like a hidden gem. If you're in the area, especially around game time, it's worth checking out. read more

Mellow Fellow is hands down by far the best burger I have had in Reno so far, and I've tried what I'd like to think is all of them.... This is a fun little place to hang out in and can be enjoyed on a date, with friends, or even with the kiddos. Service here has always been great, always fast and attentive. Not only are the burgers great but the appetizers are quite the sight, the giant fried pretzel just looks absolutely ridiculous as the center piece to your table. Also weirdly enough the ketchup here, for some reason may be the best ketchup on earth... I can not wait to get some time to run back down to MF, eat some killer food, drink some local beers, and snap a bunch more pics to hopefully get more people enjoying this place. read more

We finally made it to Mellow Fellow! Nestled next to the Courtyard Marriott and conveniently across the street from the Greater Nevada Baseball field, I can see why this spot is such a hit (especially during baseball season!). The food was delicious, I opted for the MF Gyro (with grilled chicken) and a side of tater tots, and my husband got the chicken strip plate with the homemade fries. It was definitely flavorful and the waitress gave us an array of dipping sauces, which included Korean BBQ and the original Buffalo Sauce. I can't wait to try more! Especially since a lot of people recommend the Mac and cheese! The service was excellent, and our waitress was so helpful and such a delight. Additionally, the vibe of the restaurant is so laidback and casual, cozy too. I can see this being a solid hang out spot, and I can't wait to experience it during the summer! Congrats on 10 years!! I visited MF with a couple friends as it has been years since I've been here. The food was just as decadent as I remember. Everything was cooked to order and almost all their side items and sauces are homemade and just oh so delicious. All their servers were very nice and attentive. The food came out rather quickly even though the restaurant was full. The only disappointment was that they had a limited menu on a Saturday night due to staffing in the kitchen so my friend didn't get to order the Mahi Mahi Fish & Chips, but I suppose it just means we get to visit again. read more

We went before the Party Animals baseball game this past weekend and it had been a bit since we dined here. They have become even better than before! Staff were friendly, it has a casual vibe, and the indoor/outdoor options make it a great stop in this great weather. The appetizers are generous portions and could be a meal itself. We had the spicy Korean bbq cauliflower and it was everything we hoped for! I had the Lupe sandwich and it was great flavor, but I think if the bread had been toasted instead of soggy it would have made it over the top. This is my third time eating here... I honestly didn't like what I had ordered the last 2 times. The first time I ordered a Prime Philly and it was super salty. The second time I ordered MFQ Mac and it had no seasoning at all and tasted too much like flour. You might wonder why I came back here if I didn't like the food, well I have 2 reasons. 1 the cauliflower wings are delicious and 2 when my girlfriend's bosses come on business from LA or Seattle they like to come to eat at this place because they love the Korean burger and the cauliflower wings. Well now I decided to give it a chance again and I ordered a grilled cheese which was very delicious and super crunchy although a little greasy but it is understandable because of the cheese. What I didn't like was the almost pound of tomato that they put on my salad. Wow! I think i found my new mac and cheese spot in Reno. All the entrees were big portions for the price which is always a plus. I got the pulled pork mac and cheese and it was phenomenal. Mellow fellow is one of my go to places! There are many different food options all which are delicious. This time, I got the cauliflower "wings" with Korean BBQ sauce. It was delightful! Cauliflower wings are one of my favorite dishes and this made the top favorite list. My husband ordered the MFQ Mac which was also tasty. The only issue he said was that it was lacking pull pork. The ratio of Mac and cheese and pulled pork was off so each bite didn't have the delicious pulled pork! Surprisingly, each time I have been here, it has been empty! I'm assuming this place gets pooping when there events at the ballpark. It is located right downtown so it is a great place to eat and drink before exploring the downtown area. read more

What can I say other than fantastic food and service. I've eaten here before but had time for just an appetizer. This time I got to try three new appetizers I hadn't tried before. I really enjoyed the pretzel appetizer. It was cooked to perfection the crispiness on the outside, and the soft warmness on the inside was delicious. It also came with a lot of different dipping's and toppings that you can use, but my favorite was the cheese dip sauce highly recommend that. I tried the crispy Brussels sprouts; although I'm not a fan of those little green things they were cooked very well. Crispy on the outside and a little soft in the inside. I got to try their prime chop salad. It was so good the amount of toppings that were in the salad was so pleasing. Normally you get a salad and it barely has some protein in a little bit of veggies and the rest is all lettuce. This had mixed greens, which is healthier some prime meat and tons of veggies with a great amount of blue cheese crumbles. The dressing I can't remember the name of it, but it was refreshing and had a herbal earthy taste. For drinks, I had water and a tequila pineapple cocktail very good. Our server Emily was so nice and on top of everything. She was friendly and even allowed me to take her picture with the giant pretzel appetizer. Wasn't too busy so the noise level was adequate. I like that the place is located in a area that I frequent often. The other orders on the table looked so good too and they are on my list to try. They have a lot of different well drinks and beers. Very eh experience for our first visit unfortunately. Most convenient parking is a garage around the corner. We walked down and were a bit confused if we walked into the right bar. We looked very obviously lost and kind of were looking around and no one greeted us or asked if we were lost. We then left thinking we were in the wrong place, just to turn around and come back and still no one greeted us. We ended up just choosing a table ourselves. There were only two or three other tables occupied at the time, as well as the event space in the back for a larger group. Upon arrival it took a while for anyone to come to our table and finally when someone did it was the chef who brought us our waters. Then finally our server came by and just said "I'm busy it's going to be 10 minutes before I have time to come back" and did not take our order for drinks or food. He must have been pretty overwhelmed, especially since a chef was out going to tables, but the restaurant was not very busy.... Definitely could have benefited from having more staff scheduled to help distribute the stress of our server. Eventually our server came back and took our drink and food order. When he brought us our food that was the last time we saw him until we got the check. No one came to check on us, see how the food was, check our waters or ask if we wanted another beer. very lackluster service unfortunately. We ordered a Mac. It was okay. Not bad not amazing. A little on the oily side and not very creamy/ cheesy. Most dishes were $18+ The location is cool, I can see how it would be fun to come before or after a game. Shared the Korean burger which is a blend of ground beef with chopped brisket and spicy Korean sauce. The burger comes with cheddar cheese, lettuce and onion rings on top. For sides you can choose from fries, tater tots, coleslaw or salad. The fries are thick cut and twisted with a lot of crisp, not soggy at all. The side salad comes with chopped tomatoes and pickled onions on spring mix. They will split the plate and provide another side for $5 additional charge. Plenty to share! read more

It's been about 3 years since I last went to Mellow Fellow and it was honestly just as good as I remembered. It's a perfect place to eat/drink before the Aces game. The burger was really good and flavorful (I forgot what it's called!! Ahhhh). The cockadoodle was also really good but a bit too sweet for me and I wanted it spicy haha, I love me a good spicy chicken sandwich. The tater tots were perfectly cooked! And oh my gosh, I was OBSESSED with the fries! Food came out quickly. Sunday Brunch! Checked out their new brunch menu. I was surprised to see that it was a small menu with only 7 entrees. For dietary restrictions, there's only 2 items for a vegetarian, and 2 items that are gluten free. The menu doesn't highlight if a dish is vegetarian or gluten free, you have to ask your server. Definitely more catered to the carnivores! Ambiance was pretty chill for a Sunday Funday brunch with my girls. Great seating for small and big groups, along with bar seating. The service was great, our server was friendly and attentive. Brunch hours are not really posted anywhere except on Instagram as a response. Their brunch hours are 10am-1pm, but their website says they're open at 11:30am. Bottomless Mimosas - $15 is a great deal. Our glasses were always full and there was a perfect balance of champagne and orange juice. French Toast Butter Board - This is a fun board to share with the table. It came with 7 different colorful butters. The flavors were all pretty delicious, but the favs were cinnamon sugar, maple bacon, hazelnut, and black currant. The surprising flavor was fruity pebbles, it was not as sweet as we thought it was going to be, but it was really good. French Toast was pretty good. I wish they offered a gluten free bread option. Not your Mum's Banger & Mash - I'm on the fence with this dish. The flavors were plentiful, but the dish is fairly small. It came with one sour cream & potato latke, which wasn't very big and there was an overpowering taste of chives. The menu had latkes plural, so I expected two in the dish. I was sadly disappointed. The chicken & apple sausage was good, felt like the sausage took over the dish though. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I think the veal Demi-glaze threw me off, I wasn't expecting that interesting flavor and it was more of a gravy consistency. I did like the side of creamy horseradish that complimented the overall dish. If this dish had another latke, it would be worth the price of $18. Almost felt like just an egg and sausage dish in gravy. I think it was a bit overpriced. My friend tried the Cajun cornbread strata. In her words "they're trying too hard with this dish". It wasn't what she expected. It was pretty small and was quite overwhelming with what they are trying to do with all of these flavors. Not worth the $17. The JS Monte Cristo was a favorite. It had a nice balance of flavors and textures. A great sweet & salty dish. Nice crunch on the outside with tasty flavors on the inside. Overall, this is a great brunch spot. Definitely a go-to for bottomless mimosas. The food options for brunch are limited, but there are a few good items. In my opinion, a bit overpriced for what you get. I'm hoping to try the rest of the menu when I go back. Hopefully more gluten free options will be added by then. read more

Been awhile since eating here. We were down town and didn't want to eat midtown as really abit full with all the returning college students. We got here about 20 minutes before closing, still a few tables, but not too busy. There's a big sign in the front that says to see yourself. The bartender, Emily, came out immediately and gave us some menus and took our drink order. She let us know that the kitchen was closing soon and we should order fairly expediently... that is just not my wife style lol. My wife can visit the same restaurant once a week for years and still need to read the whole menu (that hasn't changed since the last time we ate). I'm used to it after 30 years of marriage lol. If I don't write any reviews for a while it's because she read this and clobbered me! All joking aside (if possible) back to the actual review lol. What we ordered: Margherita Fuzzy navel Classic burger Side of coleslaw 16 ounce ribeye medium rare, no starch, extra seasonal vegetables The food arrived within 10 minutes. My wife loved the burger. As for me, I have to say, the Ribeye steak was one of the best ever. I mean it. It was definitely a bit more fatty than normal, but holy crap it was one good steak. CAB (certified Angus beef) for sure. A 16 oz steak dinner, burger and 2 cocktails for less than $75 is phenomenal good price. Especially in today's, post Covid, extremely horrible prices due to the recession/depression lol. I really recommend this place for a steak, a burger, and some cocktails. hello! first time here and enjoyed the sports game. ordered two things, the carne asada fries (wedges) and the korean style chicken wings. Those two dishes were mediocre because there were barely any protein in the fries which caused the balance to be off, and the chicken wings were a bit soggy and not cooked long enough to get that crisp. I think those two suggestions could improve and the dishes will be perfect. The ranch was great, and fresh. I would like to try other dishes here and give it another try. But as a paying customer I do not want to be surprised by items added to my bill because I am unaware of the extra charge for tonic that I never saw posted on your drink menu. All I'm saying is don't hide the fact that this charge will be added. Advise your customers when they order a drink with an add on charge. How hard would it be to say we charge an extra fee for tonic? Then they might be able to change to soda or whatever else. Add the charge fee to your drink menu. Offer a lot of liquor that isn't on the menu. Had a big party for a volleyball club, server had told us that he's good and been serving teams all week. Seemed confident. Typically being a server prior I do drinks first and apps as I order drinks. Didn't do that. Just did drinks apps and dinner at the same time. We assumed as a party that we would get an appetizer first then dinner. Got it at the same time. Was starving for our dinner but didn't really care for the app that came 35 mins later. We've been here before and the food killer. Love it so good. Went to go get some food today. Checked the hours, it said open at 11:30 on Google, Facebook said 12, so we go at 1pm. Stayed in Reno right across the street from this establishment at the Courtyard. We were there for 4 nights for a sports tournament and we found ourselves here 4 different times. Came for convenience at first and then realized it was really good food. We had kids with us and although there were many places within walking distance going across the street was definitely ideal. We came for drinks the first time and the second time with a large party during the baseball game and had no issues getting a table but I think it was just our timing. Everyone loved their meals. Wings, fries, Mac and cheese, nachos, burgers were all big hits. Burrata salad and French onion soup (was on special) were delicious too. Awesome beer selection. I came to Reno to visit my son who goes to UNR and stayed at the Courtyard across from the stadium which happily is also across from Mellow Fellow and a perfect spot to meet him for dinner. I had their regular burger and substituted the russian dressing for the garlic aioli and it was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had! Our server (SO sorry I didn't catch her name) was so attentive and fast and we had a wonderful experience! I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Mellow Fellow before but am happy to do so now. I have been here quite a few times over the years. Weekend brunch, drinks before an Aces game, random stops when time allows. Tonight was a great trip again. They seemed to have updated their menu since my last trip and shortened up the beer menu a little bit have ditched the chalk board of beers and went to a regular paper menu. The beers are still good but the menu and the food look to be a step up for sure. We were very pleased with the risotto balls and the nachos and the rest of the menu look awesome with several things worth trying out. The prices are decent enough but the value is for sure there. Beer prices are maybe a couple bucks more than normal but the food cost with the value checks the box. The main flaw is parking with Mellow Fellow since there are ink a few spots on the street so you need to park in the lot for the baseball stadium or in the garage. Not the worst but expect more effort from that. Seating wise there are quite a few and you should be able to easily sit at the bar or a table. I am happy I got a chance to go again tonight and expect to return. I'm excited to try more on this menu since the quality was on point tonight. read more
