We are always on the look out to try new places and since the Rail City Casino has been around since the 70's, we decided to eat there. The Ale House is located right inside the southwest entrance to the casino. It is elevated from the rest of the casino floor and is a little dark. We were seated right away and the wait staff that served us was excellent. They worked hard that night but they all had smiles on. We ordered a Hawaiian style pizza and the fish and chips. Both came out in about 15 minutes. The pizza was hot and had good flavor to it. The fish and chips had lots of fries, the breading was light and the fish had excellent texture. This place has a laid back atmosphere and the bar is right next to it. The band was playing 60's music and had the room dancing that night. Will be back

I had a great time here! Got treated very well by everyone! The environment was fun and bright! Plus the food was great my chicken sandwhich was juicy and my partner steak was well done at first but they had no problem fixing it and it was delicious!

A friendly new face tonight. Her name is Maddy. What an excellent server. Very attentive and a great smile. Certainly means a lot to feel so cared for. Best Fries ever. Crispy and Perfect. I had the New York. My hubby had the Patio burger. We even ordered another basket of fries. I highly recommend Ale House.

My girlfriend and I went here last Friday night for the pizza and beer. I'm leaving a four-star review due to the fact it felt as though the menu was missing essentials such as a list of pizza toppings. I am a pescetarian and my girlfriend is a vegetarian so 99% of my diet is vegetarian. We both love pizza and felt there were not many options. Furthermore being an Ale House their beer selection was lacking and again no list. From someone who loves beer and pizza this was a big disappointment, hence my 4-star review. As for our server Corey, I give 5-stars for service, being genuinely friendly, accommodating, and attentive. We even had the pleasure of meeting Craig, the restaurant manager who was so friendly and gave some great recommendations as well as informing us that there are some very positive changes in the works and our opinions are valued. Overall we had a great time and a wonderful first impression.

Ribs were delicious but a bit on the tough side. They had a special I saw on a billboard for 1/2 rack of ribs and a bud light for $10. The waitress Nikki was great. Attentive, friendly and engaging. I got the shrimp cocktail for a starter (7 shrimp for$7) and my husband got the bleu cheese garlic fries without the bleu cheese. In other words garlic fries. They were delicious and very garlicy. A huge portion though they were also $7.00 They also had a deal for $10 in free play if you spend $20 so registered for the card and had to put $1.00 in to activate the free play. I cashed out for $4.90 and ended up $3.90 ahead. If we were to come to Reno again I would definitely come back

We came back here on a Friday night to listen to the live band that was performing and to grab a bite to eat. We had such a great time listening to Reckless Envy while enjoying our amazing food and drinks! If you're looking for a fun Friday or Saturday night, head over to the Pit at The New Rail City to unwind and have a great time!

I am trying not to cry while writing this. I took my girlfriend out to lunch to our favorite restaurant, the Ale House. It is clear I am going through chemo. We were sat by the Delightful host, Adrian. What a Doll. So Warm and Friendly. He was wearing an old style 70d cap on his head. It was Charming. We were served by the Beautiful Spirited waitress named Carol. She made me feel So Special giving my arm s squeeze. This is how you want to be treated. Period. Thank You again Ale House Team. Great Food. Great Prices. Excellent Service.

Been a while since my last visit. Use to eat here often the cafe hours changed and menu changes we lost interest as the cafe is not open for dinner . Our favs we're Fried Chicken, New York Steak sandwich or with eggs. BLT lots of bacon on wheat toasted dark extra mayo. and the wife loves the Philly Cheese Steak, and the fried chicken from the cafe not the buffet where the fried chicken is not crispy and steaming hot. The cafe is open until 2pm Mon thru Fri. Then the buffet opens at 2pm . Food is hot. service is good and friendly.

Went there on Christmas eve, and the staff was super nice. They were really lively and friendly. Sadly, they didn't have very many vegetarian options. Maybe three, and they're basically salads and pizzas. As an appetizer I got onion rings, they were great. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Only one or two were oily. Also got a veggie pizza, it was good and with nice toppings. And even though this pizza doesn't usually come with olives, I asked if they could add olives and they did! To drink I ordered orange juice, it was alright. Just tasted like Minute Maid orange juice. As a dessert we got a brownie with ice cream, the brownie was awesome and warm. The ice cream was okay. Overall experience: As a vegetarian, wouldn't go there again by myself, but it was a nice place to hang out with the family.

Ask the Community - Ale House

Are you still having the bucket of beers and pizza special for $17 as advertised on your website and billboards? Last time we were there, it stopped due to not enough chefs... Please bring back ASAP... Thanks 😊

That deal is going away soon. Same with the half rack special. Apparently they weren't making money off of them.

I saw that you will be reopening the Ale House on Friday, 5/15. We are weekly regulars at the Ale House. Can we make reservations for Friday nite and Saturday nite to eat at the Ale House? Or do we just show up having to wait in a long line to get in

I personally wouldn't eat here. It's gross, never gets cleaned, has cockroaches, rude staff. Id go somewhere else. There will be no long lines here lol

The owner's personal, private message response to this constructive feedback was completely out of touch, defensive, and hostile. Instead of taking any accountability for the experience, the owner chose to personally attack me. He told me the entire situation was my fault, claiming I should have asked for more cheese when I paid $64 for two boards that were already inadequate. He aggressively stated that I 'lacked courage' for using an online review system and that 'What you did is useless!' The owner then concluded by telling me that 'it is best for you to never come back!' When you leave honest feedback, this management will insult you and ban you. This level of unprofessionalism warrants a 1-star rating. The long tables lined with bottles feel almost like a curated gallery, and the garage-style doors let in natural light that makes the whole place feel alive without being loud or overwhelming. What really stands out is how intentional everything feels, especially the wine list. It is handwritten on a large chalkboard, which gives it a relaxed, neighborhood vibe, but the selection is thoughtful and globally inspired. You will find a mix of Old World staples and boutique producers alongside well-chosen California options. The list includes everything from crisp Picpoul and Bordeaux Blanc blends to approachable Pinot Noir, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with more unique offerings like Loire Valley blends and Spanish varietals that show they are not just playing it safe. The pricing is another highlight. Most glasses land in the $9 to $15 range, which feels more than fair for the quality. They even offer a carafe option, about two and a half glasses, which is perfect for sharing and encourages you to settle in and enjoy the experience rather than rush through it. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a wine bar. It is relaxed, conversational, and effortlessly refined. It is the kind of place where you can catch up with friends, go on a date, or simply unwind and end up staying longer than you planned. What truly made our visit exceptional was our server, Kate. She went above and beyond in every way. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the wines, and genuinely warm in her approach.
