First of all, Diane was our server at the Rail City Casino Ale House Restaurant on April 17th, 2025, and she is an absolute GEM. I hope she is our server on all of our future visits. What a great person! The food is also amazing. The rack of ribs were generous and SO tasty. The chicken tenders were done perfectly, and the fries were crispy. Crispy fries are not a given at most restaurants, but these Ale House fries were exceptional. So there have been some changes... First off the menu is not the same. Prices have gone up (about $2 increase per item). They took some items off, no more bread pudding. And added a few items. The increase in the Rib dinner ($5), though delicious, is now not a good deal. It's just average and not worth the trip. They still have the $5 ribs and beer special. So that's awesome. But for a big family, the Increase in price for the full rack rib dinner is prohibitive. Kids are sad but still like the burgers and the brisket burgers. But for a big family, the bill is now $15-$20 more. The drinks are still a good price and I love the Margarita. What we ordered: $5 ribs and beer $4 Margherita 2 x Brisket sammys Burger 2 x Teriyaki Bowls Fish and chips Also, our fav waitress has quit. The new girl is friendly, but I miss Becky/ Brenda. Finally, kids always eating fries and dip in ranch. The new waitress informed us that she would charge $1 for 4oz Ranch for our fries...what is that. We are always on the look out to try new places and since the Rail City Casino has been around since the 70's, we decided to eat there. The Ale House is located right inside the southwest entrance to the casino. It is elevated from the rest of the casino floor and is a little dark. We were seated right away and the wait staff that served us was excellent. They worked hard that night but they all had smiles on. We ordered a Hawaiian style pizza and the fish and chips. Both came out in about 15 minutes. The pizza was hot and had good flavor to it. The fish and chips had lots of fries, the breading was light and the fish had excellent texture. This place has a laid back atmosphere and the bar is right next to it. The band was playing 60's music and had the room dancing that night. Will be back read more

Came in on Tues night near 5pm. The whole casino and restaurant was pretty much empty. Guess that should have been the first sign of what's to come. Service was ok, but the ribs were horrible. When this place first opened they had in house smoked ribs that were decent. Now, it's just gone downhill. Ribs come out bathed in bbq sauce and feels more like boiled ribs. BBQ beans were just mush and not even edible. It's too bad because this place used to be decent, but now it's just not worth it. read more

My girlfriend and I went here last Friday night for the pizza and beer. I'm leaving a four-star review due to the fact it felt as though the menu was missing essentials such as a list of pizza toppings. I am a pescetarian and my girlfriend is a vegetarian so 99% of my diet is vegetarian. We both love pizza and felt there were not many options. Furthermore being an Ale House their beer selection was lacking and again no list. From someone who loves beer and pizza this was a big disappointment, hence my 4-star review. As for our server Corey, I give 5-stars for service, being genuinely friendly, accommodating, and attentive. We even had the pleasure of meeting Craig, the restaurant manager who was so friendly and gave some great recommendations as well as informing us that there are some very positive changes in the works and our opinions are valued. Ribs were delicious but a bit on the tough side. They had a special I saw on a billboard for 1/2 rack of ribs and a bud light for $10. The waitress Nikki was great. Attentive, friendly and engaging. I got the shrimp cocktail for a starter (7 shrimp for$7) and my husband got the bleu cheese garlic fries without the bleu cheese. In other words garlic fries. They were delicious and very garlicy. A huge portion though they were also $7.00 They also had a deal for $10 in free play if you spend $20 so registered for the card and had to put $1.00 in to activate the free play. We were sat by the Delightful host, Adrian. What a Doll. So Warm and Friendly. He was wearing an old style 70d cap on his head. It was Charming. If you want to actually eat in this century I advise not coming here. We waited at least 20 minutes before even being told by the hostess that supposedly a server was coming. We ended up leaving as people that got sat after us got their order taken first. It seemed like there were some regulars that were treated better. Not to mention the place is basically the artic because it's not separated well from the rest of the casino so fairly smokey even with the air on full blast to try to filter out the smoke. The table was also wobbly and already has a stack of napkins about 1 inch underneath. They are supposedly trying to revamp their image, according to a post by reno food week, well they have a ways to go. Wasted close to two hours to try to eat here with drive time, wait list time and time at the table with zero interaction only to just leave hungry at the end. They had two hosts, and 2 servers, and I think 2 bussers. They need to reallocate their staff ( why two hosts?) And retrain their staff (if you have two bussers, the servers don't need to be clearing plates) to acknowledge customers as first impressions are everything. We saw the keno guy about 5 times with zero acknowledgment from a server. Not a "we will be wifh you soon", no drink order, nothing... one of the hosts or bussers could be taking drink orders to help. Edited to add: I'm generally pretty patient, I've worked as a server and can relate easily. Acknowledgment is truly the key and can make people way more understanding in situations like this. read more

Normally we dont get the best service here, and the food is just okay. But the other night, our server Elizabeth, was so sweet and kind and attentive. She really went out of her way to make sure that we were happy and got what we wanted. Love coming here on Friday nights! The live entertainment is extremely loud BUT usually pretty good! My favorite place for an affordable and delicious meal. Our favs we're Fried Chicken, New York Steak sandwich or with eggs. Went there on Christmas eve, and the staff was super nice. They were really lively and friendly. Sadly, they didn't have very many vegetarian options. Maybe three, and they're basically salads and pizzas. As an appetizer I got onion rings, they were great. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Only one or two were oily. Also got a veggie pizza, it was good and with nice toppings. And even though this pizza doesn't usually come with olives, I asked if they could add olives and they did! To drink I ordered orange juice, it was alright. Just tasted like Minute Maid orange juice. As a dessert we got a brownie with ice cream, the brownie was awesome and warm. The ice cream was okay. Overall experience: As a vegetarian, wouldn't go there again by myself, but it was a nice place to hang out with the family. read more

I visited here with some friends who are locals. The wait staff knows them well, so they were very friendly and joked with us. I had the teriyaki bowl, which was served on a plate, but was very good. Since Rail City stopped the buffet down and only serve on 2 days a week and at a ungodly high price for local people the Ale House is high price alternative. Very nicely surprised with the quality and value of the food here! They didn't have any beer on draft when we went here a week ago, but had the basic selection of bottled beer. The food exceeded our expectations: prime rib was juicy and tender, crab taco ($5 deal incl. a beer) was enormous and really tasty, blue cheese french fries were crispy and very flavourful! Didn't have any room for wings, so will have to try it next time. And it is right next to the stage, so you can enjoy the live music from the nearby bar. read more

Came here for Christmas dinner with my family and was very unhappy with the food. My boyfriend had a sandwich he had to send back and then after they remade it, he still couldn't eat it because it was just as horrible. With all of that, the manager, Kim, took care of us and let us come back the next day for a different meal which was 10 million times better. Well after the " Pandemic and beyond now several menu changes ,no more is the fried salmon available fish and chips now are those little triangle patties, like at Denny's ha,frozen frozen breaded, not even Mickey's d s use this cooked formed patties we all have air fryers now we can cook that ourselves, and they charge you 2.50 for each carton for your food and they do not unless you look first you will not get the aujus for your French dip,etc so check your go orders . I live less than two blocks away and that fancy carton does not degrade good don't keep it that warm either fries were almost cold, no condiments, so check , restaurant I haven't tried yet, but will post when I do. For my tastes, it is impossible to beat an authentic Carne Asada street taco... from the meat all the way to the cheese is what keeps me heaven. As many times as I have been to the Rail City Ale House, I can only advise on the tacos. That seems to be the only thing I ever eat there, aside from the their french fries (which they have multiple types... steak, waffle, curly and a few more which I can't remember right now) Anyway back to the tacos... They only offer them on the appetizer menu, and you get three tacos that have tender plenty of carne asada, cilantro, and mounds of Queso Fresco. The only thing that would make this better would be to put in on the entree portion of the menu and provide a side of rice and beans, or fries. What a way to go! read more
