We had an amazing time at Engine 8 Urban Winery in Sparks! We reserved a table for the evening, and it turned out to be the absolute perfect spot to watch the night fireworks. The reservation came with an all-you-can-eat setup featuring delicious barbecue, pizza, fruit, and wine. Everything was fresh and super tasty. We shared a bottle of their white wine, and it was fantastic--crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the food. The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent, and you just can't beat that view of the fireworks. We will definitely come back here the next time we are in Sparks, Nevada! Highly recommend booking a table if you get the chance.

This is definitely a great place to come with a group of friends or one on one date night. The woodfired pizzas are amazingly paired with their delicious wines, and they also have live music which is a plus they also offer charcuterie boards, which are to die for cannot recommend this place enough.

Still one of our favorite local places to go to. They have wonderful wines, live music in The Weeknd's and the best pizza! The owners are always there and are super friendly, which helps give it that hometown touch. On weekends, get there early if you want a seat! There is more seating available when the patio is open though.

Went to Engine 8 before catching a movie and it's such a wonderful combination! The only reason I gave 4 stars is the wine is just not for me - but the pizza is incredible! The spicy conductor might be one of the best pizzas in Reno/sparks. The outdoor patio is just so lovely in the afternoon/evening as it is shaded. Parking is easy as there is a free parking garage right next to the plaza.

Stopped by after the Sparks hometown Christmas parade. The atmosphere is always so nice and welcoming. Christmas music playing softly very nice!! We had a fantastic spicy conductor pizza one of the best. Ashley took amazing care of us, Mike and Wendy were friendly as always! We Love this place!!

Glass on the right was the original poor lots of foam inside and top of wine. Left glass second pour bubbles. Unacceptable.

This is what happened to us when we visited this establishment. We ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. It was brought out to us with a white & foamy substance in and around the inside glass. as we spin the glass to aerate the foam it became even more noticeable. We went to talk to a lady who turned out to be the owner Wendy, who was not very welcoming to say the least. I Explained our concern to her, and showed her the foamy substance by spinning the glass but it seemed it fall on deaf ears and she could care less. She asked what would you like me to do I asked her for a new pour. At first she wanted to pour it into another glass. I said no I would like a new pour from the bottle. She poured a new glass this time bubbles were around the top. I asked why would that be. She had no answer and then stated it could be her glass/dishwasher broke down and said she was using "hand sanitizer" to clean the glasses, Yes her words "hand sanitizer"she stated it twice. I said, Why would you use chemicals like that? I said that's unacceptable. I asked her Would you drink or serve this again to another guest? She said yes. I told her that was unacceptable. She gave No apology, No refund, bad attitude, bad customer service. I give no stars on this review, even though I had to choose one

I've been here many times and always receive phenomenal service. The owners make you feel welcomed, and the space is so cozy! I love the live music nights! The pizza is AMAZING, but last night we opted for the hummus plate and it was so so good! This is a fave spot in Sparks.

Fun place with a great pizza and appetizers menu. The owners are a couple blend their own wines that are very good. We had a fun conversation with Wendi, who was the winemaker and has recently brought on an experienced new winemaker from Napa/Sonoma and their first new varietals will be released in 2026. Looking forward to trying them!

Good food A very nice gluten-free pizza. We sat out side and listened to live music. A very nice setting.

We met a friend here and found it to be absolutely charming! They offer a large variety of wines and have a menu of sweet wines they make. I tried an $8 flight of 3 which were light sweet and refreshing. Our party also had a barrel aged flight. Our friend ordered the train wreck gluten free pizza. This place does pizza and wine Period and when you specialize in something you should do it well. Engine 8 does it well. They do have a limited selection of appetizers and desserts too. The ambiance and availability of outdoor seating are very cool. Great spot to meet some friends, conveniently next to the theatres in downtown sparks. Walkable area too. Highly recommend you pop in and try a glass of wine, pizza or a dessert. Bring some friends. I hear they have live music some days too !

Engine 8 is just absolutely amazing. From the food to the owners, to the staff and the wine. They are superb all around. We love to go on nights when there is live music, either Friday or Saturday normally. It makes it so fun and people get up and dance too. Such great vibes always. They have THE BEST PIZZA in town hands down. The ingredients they use are great quality and you can tell. It's a pizza that doesn't hurt my stomach after eating and I get to enjoy it with a glass of wine. Our favorite pizza is the spicy conductor. It's a must try. Pair it with a Barbera and you're in heaven. The merlot is also so good, it smells like buttery popcorn so fun and interesting. Mike and Wendi have an awesome business they have created here and are amazing.

We had the three meat pizza. It was very good. Great waitress and a cozy outside table near the Entertainment.

Engine 8 Urban Winery in Sparks is such a cool spot! They make their own wine--and it shows. Every glass we tried was smooth, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. The food was just as impressive--fresh, delicious, and beautifully paired with the wines. We were lucky enough to catch live music on Saturday from 4-6, which added the perfect touch to an already fun and lively atmosphere. This place is a total gem--highly recommend for a relaxed afternoon or a casual night out!

    Yes in a leash

Does Engine 8 have a full bar in case someone in the group isn't a wine fan?

Hello Jessica! We do not have a full bar; however, we do have a few beers on tap and offer margaritas made with our blackberry wine. Thank you.

    Does Engine 8 require reservations?

No, unless you want to use the banquet room. Also the wines are young wines. So as you go in for tastings they will change over the course of the next year. It's a cool place, they owners are available to talk with you and are open to feedback. They… Read more

Brunch is all day on Sundays however they do have a lunch menu starting at 12pm, so we ordered from each menu. The ahi nachos were great, thick pieces of tuna and a great sauce drizzled over. When we arrived, every table was full, so we grabbed seats at the bar. It turned out to be a great spot to watch the bartenders create beautiful drinks, including some of their signature cocktails served in a glass purse for parties of two or more. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with groups celebrating birthdays and other special occasions. After looking over the menu, we decided on the lox crostini bites and the bruschetta. We each ordered a glass of sparkling wine. I added a chocolate rim to mine, which was fun to look at, although it didn't add much flavor. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed watching the flowing chocolate waterfall. Considering how busy the bar was, our food arrived quickly. The crostini were crisp, and both appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The only drawback was the volume of the DJ, but we knew what to expect as soon as we walked through the door. This is definitely a fun place for parties and groups looking for a lively night out. One last observation: I probably wouldn't choose this spot for a group of men. The décor and overall vibe are very much geared toward women, but the name says it all.

The long tables lined with bottles feel almost like a curated gallery, and the garage-style doors let in natural light that makes the whole place feel alive without being loud or overwhelming. What really stands out is how intentional everything feels, especially the wine list. It is handwritten on a large chalkboard, which gives it a relaxed, neighborhood vibe, but the selection is thoughtful and globally inspired. You will find a mix of Old World staples and boutique producers alongside well-chosen California options. The list includes everything from crisp Picpoul and Bordeaux Blanc blends to approachable Pinot Noir, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with more unique offerings like Loire Valley blends and Spanish varietals that show they are not just playing it safe. The pricing is another highlight. Most glasses land in the $9 to $15 range, which feels more than fair for the quality. They even offer a carafe option, about two and a half glasses, which is perfect for sharing and encourages you to settle in and enjoy the experience rather than rush through it. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a wine bar. It is relaxed, conversational, and effortlessly refined. It is the kind of place where you can catch up with friends, go on a date, or simply unwind and end up staying longer than you planned. What truly made our visit exceptional was our server, Kate. She went above and beyond in every way. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the wines, and genuinely warm in her approach. She made thoughtful recommendations, checked in at the right moments, and created an experience that felt personal rather than transactional. It is clear she cares about what she does, and it made a great environment feel even better. Black Rock Wine Co is not trying too hard, and that is exactly why it works. It is curated, welcoming, and just the right level of elevated. We will absolutely be back.
