Engine 8 is officially in our regular rotation, and keeping our wine club membership here is a no-brainer. The owners are absolutely amazing people, and the food is consistently fantastic. If you go, you have to try the Steam Bites, they are my absolute favorite! They're delicious, tangy little bites of joy that are always cooked to perfection (pro-tip: you can also get this as a pizza!). The wine selection is phenomenal. Whether you prefer dry or sweet, they have something you'll love. They brought on a winemaker a while back, and the payoff has been huge, they just took home bronze, silver, and gold at a recent blind tasting wine competition! Their food and drink prices and variety, customer service and cleanliness were adequate. The access here is disabled-friendly. Their menu was nicely varied while not overwhelming in size. We shared: Marcona Almonds, "The worlds best tasting almonds. Roasted with sea salt and olive oil." Margherita, "a 12" Cauliflower crust with a southwest chipotle pesto sauce topped with roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil." A Barbera, a Riesling and a Margarita made with their blackberry wine. We don't know about parking as we all took the RTC FlexRIDE public bus ($1.50 per person for an all day pass) to Centennial Bus Plaza then walked the one-third mile to here, and then back. Here we had a welcome respite until an owner injected Republican politics into our visit...which ruined it for us, who are not Republicans. As of April 2026, the political party demographics in Nevada are approximately 27.2% Democratic, 26.8% Republican and 39.4% Nonpartisan/Independent. In Washoe County, Nevada, registered Democrats made up about 35% of voters, Republicans about 32%, and independents/other about 33%. I rate 'em 2 stars for the Republican politics shared by an owner which ruined it all for me. I then added another review star for their having a Military / Veterans Discount. Their having a Military / Veterans Discount was why we were there as we only support businesses that support we Veterans with a Veterans Discount. I love going out to my favorite places and tonite we sat next to a man from New Zealand! My husband is from NZ and I have been there many times, such a beautiful country. Many years ago we use to have a Kiwi Club and we meet up once a month at different Bars around town. I miss those days, but last night it was like old times. We enjoyed not one but two bottles of the Cabernet Frank it's new on the menu and I absolutely loved it. Normally, I would order the Malbec. I feel like the wines are starting to have a better flavor about them and of course with that the cost goes up. I love the artisan size pizza. it's just the perfect size for two! The spicy conductor is my favorite. If your in downtown. Sparks you must pop in for a wine tasting flight to pick your next bottle of wine to share with friends or to enjoy yourself. We had an amazing time at Engine 8 Urban Winery in Sparks! We reserved a table for the evening, and it turned out to be the absolute perfect spot to watch the night fireworks. The reservation came with an all-you-can-eat setup featuring delicious barbecue, pizza, fruit, and wine. Everything was fresh and super tasty. We shared a bottle of their white wine, and it was fantastic--crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the food.The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent, and you just can't beat that view of the fireworks. This is what happened to us when we visited this establishment. We ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. It was brought out to us with a white & foamy substance in and around the inside glass. as we spin the glass to aerate the foam it became even more noticeable. We went to talk to a lady who turned out to be the owner Wendy, who was not very welcoming to say the least. I Explained our concern to her, and showed her the foamy substance by spinning the glass but it seemed it fall on deaf ears and she could care less. She asked what would you like me to do I asked her for a new pour. At first she wanted to pour it into another glass. I said no I would like a new pour from the bottle. She poured a new glass this time bubbles were around the top. I asked why would that be. She had no answer and then stated it could be her glass/dishwasher broke down and said she was using "hand sanitizer" to clean the glasses, Yes her words "hand sanitizer"she stated it twice. I said, Why would you use chemicals like that? I said that's unacceptable. I asked her Would you drink or serve this again to another guest? She said yes. I told her that was unacceptable. We love to go on nights when there is live music, either Friday or Saturday normally. It makes it so fun and people get up and dance too. Such great vibes always. They have THE BEST PIZZA in town hands down. The ingredients they use are great quality and you can tell. It's a pizza that doesn't hurt my stomach after eating and I get to enjoy it with a glass of wine. Our favorite pizza is the spicy conductor. It's a must try. I've only been to Engine 8 three times. The first was years ago when they first opened. The last two times were more recent, mostly for quick bottle pick ups for gatherings. Engine 8 has great wine and great service. Most recently, I brought my grandma into Engine 8 to pick up some bottles for a family gathering. She was very impressed with their space. We were browsing wines and a nice woman came over to help us. She offered lots of recommendations and once we decided one a few wines she allowed us to sample three for free when we purchased two bottles! We tried the Malbec, the green apple, and the Barbera. We settled on purchasing the Malbec and the barrel aged Barbera. We loved the green apple but it was certainly on the sweet end. The two bottles were $30 and $40. A bit in the pricey end for a young wine, but well worth it to support one of Northern Nevadas only local wineries. Engine 8 does serve some food. I've only had the wine here. Overall, this is a great stop in the heart of Victorian Square. Enjoy some food and wine, then go see a movie right next door and make a date out of it! read more

For our anniversary, my wife and I recieved a ghost card to Engine 8. It was originally for a blending party for four, but could never get out schedules lined up for one. So one night, we decided to just head in for a bit and to try some of the wine. I'm so glad we did! They had a great menu with lots of tasty bites that paired fantastically with their wine. This was our first time in and we were so happy we finally made it down! We did 4 flights and tried 15 different wines of which our favorites were the Barbara, Battle Born Blend and Chocolate Cherry Port. All of which were very good. Fun, young, flavorful and food friendly. Speaking of food, we started with the Steam Bites which we both very much enjoyed and then had their beautiful hummus plate. The peppers were such a fun and lovely touch and the hummus and peta bread were very well done. We finished off with their Spicy Conductor pizza which we loved! Terrible and dirty! We tried this Sauvignon Funk it was dark and tasted cooked. My husband tried a Barbara and well that was gross and had soap. The gal noticed we didn't like it and didn't drink it. I said we left the money (cash) on the bar. She also gave no knowledge about any wines. Not a wine bar at all! I recently went to an event at Engine 8 and was excited to see that they had gluten-free pizza. They only had Margherita available at our event, but when I spoke to them, they made it sound like they could do any of the pizzas gluten-free. My husband and I immediately made a plan to come back. A little over a week ago, my husband and I showed up at Engine 8 on a Saturday to grab dinner, they had the back room closed so all seating was upfront. There was a live musician performing, and it was so loud that I literally could not hear the questions that the waitress was asking me (my Apple Watch was registering 92 decibels at our table). I attempted to ask her if there were other pizzas that could be made gluten-free, since a vegetarian or Margherita pizza was not hitting the spot. She told me she would go to the back and check. When she came back, she pretty much told me that there was one other pizza That could be made gluten-free, but that not all of the ingredients on the pizza were actually gluten-free. I explained that I had celiac and she pretty much redirected me to the Margherita. I was not even given the option to build my own even though I asked. It was really disappointing. We left and had dinner elsewhere. I still gave them 3 stars. The wines are not bad and reasonably priced. And the Margherita pizza is pretty tasty. read more

I came into this place with my mother and her friend for 4th of July. It was a very nice atmosphere inside and the air conditioning felt amazing with the summer heat! The decoration was a combination of old style artwork and trinkets. And wine bottles. Lots and lots of wine bottles! The service was not very, our waitress was good at getting our order correct and getting our drinks to us at a good time. Though she rarely stayed long and sometimes didn't hear us when we had a question. Plus at the end she was very rude when we asked to seperate our tickets, even though we told her that we would be doing so at the beginning. I ordered a triple meat pizza and it was real tasty! The cheese was nice and melty and the meats had a nice amount of them! It all blended together very well! We opted to get some dessert I chose the Cheesecake and, it is the weirdest cheesecake I've ever had! It didn't look or taste like Cheesecake, very bizarre! So I went to ask a question about two others on the menu and was cut off before I was able to ask and told if I wanted any more samples I had to buy a flight. Very disappointed experience.
