I rarely get later in the day flights out of Reno but when I do, I absolutely love getting to spend time at Vino Volo. Vino Volo is always very clean and quiet with a sense of elegance with a comforting and welcoming atmosphere that gives a message of "come as you are". The servers are professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. For my visit today I drank mimosas. They were well balanced and refreshing. To eat I had the Charcuterie board. The Charcuterie board had a delicious selection of cheeses and meats. The fig spread was beyond amazing! I can't wait for the next time I am able to eat (and drink lol) at Vino Volo! read more

For an airport bar, Vina Volvo is as good as it gets! Drinks are actually fairly priced -- which is almost unheard of at an airport. The mimosas are perfectly balanced and absolutely worth stopping in for. The ambience is stellar. Sit at the bar and you'll forget you're even at the airport. On top of that, their rewards program is a great perk and well worth the quick download of the free app. The staff here are warm, friendly, and make the whole experience even better. Okay, so first of all WOW! I did the grab and go section, grabbed an Egg Salad Sandwich and it was seriously the best I've ever had. And I was shocked considering it came from a grab and go section in an airport. Such good flavor! Overnight oats were basic, but plentiful, and the iced caramel macchiato was a good call! I'm have stopped by Veno Volo at RNO on several occasions when traveling for work. This trip was bo different except the service. I had my partner with me and we were in casual dress (jeans and T shirt). We had 1.5 hours to kill. When the server finally came to our table he didnt introduced himself so I can't tell you who specifically, just asked what we wanted. I ordered a Rose tasting flight and my partner ordered the Blonde (beer on tap). Server had to ask "the what" and we pointed it out in the menu. I then ordered the Butchers board and he asked "anything else" i ordered the meatballs. He walked away. No additional convo or acknowledgement. Silverware was brought and eventually our drinks. My 2 teen (17) daughters joined. When the female server brought our food she approached the table with each dish in hand. Said "butcher board" and then waited for us to move our drinks. While scrambling to move my tasting flight part of the food rolled off the board onto the floor. We all saw it, including the server, and my partner commented "oops". The server saw it, never said a word. Sat down our two dishes and walked away. After about 15-20 min of my daughters joining and is sharing silverware I went to the bar and asked for more silverware and ordered 2 sprite. I was handed silverware and told the sodas would be brought over. They were delivered without comment or checking if we needed anything. We finished our food and drinks. The male server finally came over and asked if we needed anything (hour after sitting, 40+ after food delivery). We asked for the bill. Im very disappointed that this was the service when I have had a very different experience in the past. I can only assume we didn't "look the part". The food was great as usual. Although I frequent the Reno Airport, my departing flights are usually before Vino Volo opens. But, with a flight delay, I was able to check this spot out. I was happy to see a vegan option or two, as well as vegetarian options. This healthy option is great, since the only competition in this airport is McDonald's, Timber Ridge (diner-style food), and a Pizza joint. This casual, but elevated spot holds about 20 seats at the bar, and a few tables to sit at as well. I ordered some kind of Mediterranean Antipasti that came with artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes, olives, peppers, chick peas, and dolmas. We had some time to kill before our flight so we stopped here and grab a couple drinks and a quick bite. I'll start with the customer service - it was ok. It started off not-so-good but we quickly realized our server was overworked. It improved as our time there progressed. I ordered the three cheese egg bites. I've been avoiding carbs as much as possible and sticking with protein. What I received was actually more of a muffin with a little bit of egg and cheese mixed in. This wasn't mentioned in the menu at all. To make matters worse, it was over cooked, dry and flavorless. Thankfully, it was only $7 bucks, so it wasn't a huge loss. Still, though. My husband and I were at Vino Volo/Reno airport on December 27. I had been to a few other Vino Volo's and always enjoyed it. This time was different. The service was bad to say the least. Therefore, I only left them a 10% tip. Well, guess what? Apparently, they didn't like that. So, they took it upon themselves to change the tip amount to 18%! Very upsetting that they would change my already signed receipt. Very angry about that. The amount was only $2 extra dollars, but it's the fact that they changed what I had signed. I always go into this wine bar every time I am at the Reno Airport. I live in Vegas and travel back-and-forth frequently for business. Volo has always been my favorite place but today I was totally disappointed. I came in took a seat at the bar and waited and waited and waited and waited. The bartender had three men that were by the looks of that together and one other customer on the opposite side of the bar. He passed by me numerous times while I looked directly at him he never made eye contact I sat there for over 20 minutes. Finally he looked up when he was Clean in a glass or something right in front of me and he then says "hey". He does not ask me what I would like, he doesn't say anything about the fact that I've been sitting there for a really long time and he never even acknowledged I was at the bar. I say to him oh hi I thought you were never going to notice that I was sitting here. At that point he says and I quote, I am pretty busy. That's all he said, he was not busy he had literally like five people at the bar and he was concentrating on the group of guys at the opposite end going asking them did they want something else but completely ignoring everyone else. After he did that I got up and left. The way he was acting I wonder if he was high or something I don't know. I'm really surprised that a place like Vino Volo would hire someone like that. I will go back again but if I see this guy in there I'll keep walking. My husband is a bartender and I have worked in the service industry. Even if you are busy (and he was not) you at least greet customers and say I be with you as soon as possible. Normally I wouldn't write a bad review but I was just so put out by this guy. I always like to 'fuel' up before a flight and how convenient it was to do so right after going thru TSA security, Vino Volo which was hop, skip, and jump, was beckoning me as I was cleared. As soon as I saddled up to the bar, Eric greeted me and offered to serve me a Mimosa but refused and asked for a Bloody Mary. When he told me that only had Bloody Marys in a can, I had second thought but decided to try this Cutwater Bloody Mary, and lo and behold it took me by surprise especially after adding a little hot sauce and black cracked pepper, it was palatable. Shortly after, I got into a conversation about South American wines and he offered me a Uruguayan Tannat, Vina Progresso 2018 Revolution Tannat for just US$29 which I gladly accepted. Eric being the saleman he is, let me know that he had a 3-bottle box and I sternly told him that one bottle would be sufficient however when he told that they were offering US$15 a bottle that day, I told him to fill up the box. We were in the Reno airport after a trip to visit my parents and obviously that required some post visit wine drinking. Having not traveled through Reno I wasn't sure about their gluten free options and was thrilled to find a Vino Volo here which is always sure to have some options as well as some libations. We were able to get a table right away and the bartender was super friendly and helpful. We ordered the Riesling they had which was refreshing and perfect for starting drinking prior to the noon hour. They had several gf options including a delicious salad with goat cheese and cauliflower pizza crusts allowing me to get the pesto pizza with chicken, super yummy. We enjoyed our snacks and the Riesling was much needed after a long weekend with the parents. The friendly conversation from our bartender rounded everything off perfectly. I always arrive early and then after I'm through security look for a place for a halfway decent breakfast ... gotta get that morning coffee in. It was a comfortable place and I was not rushed and on the whole would spend the money again. For an airport wine bar, I find this spot chic and clean, the service prompt, and the wine selection delicious. The food is okay and perhaps not worth the price when you could go grab something a little more affordable around the corner (take your wine with you in a to-go cup!). Wow!!! How long has Reno been asking for this ... forever !!! This place is amazing! It's only been open for 3 days and already the staff is knowledgeable about the wines, food and additional locations across the nation (55 I am told ). This is a wine bar , beer is next door, and they do have mimosas for the AM and a large range of wines to choose from. They don't have a lot of plugs... so he cautious of that. This is the first place you see as you come up from the TSA area. Don't be fooled!! There is NOTHING BETTER for wine or small fresh bites if you move into the rest of the terminal.... so don't think you'll walk they and find something, just sayin. They have a nice range of small bites and can customize most of the foods for you. Vegetarian and Vegas are welcome :) ... I love that! They are also connected to the little coffee and sandwich spot right next to it, so if you want a beer or coffee your welcome to ask the server or bring it on over. We saw this place at the top of the steps / escalators when you leave security. It is Wednesday, 12/5 and we were told they opened just this past Saturday. We realized we had some time before our flight so we stopped in to check it out. My wife ordered the "Shades of white" wine flight and I had a 10 Torr Hazemania Devil IPA from the Verdi Market next door which they brought over, poured in a glass and added to our tab. The wine flight was cool - they serve the three options on a tray which provides information on each glass. They also have small options such as popcorn, olives and pork tacos and large items such as charcuterie boards, soups, salads and sandwiches such as brisket and brie and proscuitto. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. Great addition to RNO! read more

I have the admit the food selection is pretty good for an airport restaurant! The burrata was delicious, although it did not have the arugula salad as described on the menu. The service was why I'm giving this place a 3 star review. I am a younger, 22 year old girl and she didn't approach me until after about 10 minutes of me sitting at the bar. She then was very rude when I wanted to order anything at all. I work in fine dining so I'm sure I have a higher standard in service, but she was not friendly whatsoever. In my opinion, a bartender should be friendly, interactive, and make the customer feel important. I wanted to order another glass of wine but she ruined my experience. I don't eat breakfast often, and today was no exception, but I am a coffee snob, so I seek great coffee out. Today I was flying out of Reno and needed a cup of Joe. I remembered I'd be passing Verdi market and saw the sign for Hub coffee and made a b line. It's a little more expensive than other coffee in the airport but it's so much better. Is it the hub standard? Not exactly but they're also not brewing it the exact same way. Regardless it was much better than other outlets and they had the name of the coffee prominently displayed too! Excited for my late morning flight to Cabo and feeling awesome after a 10 mile run, I decided to stop and treat myself to a sparkling prosecco since I had some time to kill before boarding. My solo time at the bar was nice but can the glass get any smaller? I know we're at the airport and things are pricey but $8.99 for a 4 or 5 oz. glass of bubbles is re-donk. Not sure I would every order anything else there or spend any more money there if I didn't have to. Initially tried to grab a drink at the Timber Lodge and was greeted by the nastiest staff. I felt like a burden just trying to order. Left that establishment to go across the way to this wine bar and immediately felt the vibe change. The bartender, Celeste, was training another team member on the menu and both stopped to kindly greeted my friend and I. They immediately assisted us, poured us some delicious drinks and overall had stellar customer service. Drinks were phenomenal!
