The waitress was so polite to ask me if I wanted it tossed in balsamic or on the side when ordering but tossed and balsamic is the way to go. Visited this location for dinner and were sat immediately, even with them being packed! Our server, Bobby was really helpful in how we should order our elk burger and he took care of us promptly. We started out with the deviled eggs and wrapped up with the elk burger. I really enjoyed the deviled eggs (total of 4). The filling has jalapeño mixed In and topped with bacon. Delish! The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries on the side were piping hot. I did feel like the burger lacked a zing but other than that, it was great in terms of freshness and uniqueness. The pork hash was just amazing. I will be going back just for that dish. I didn't know what to expect, and now I know it will be a flavor bomb every time. The pork is fork, tender, left in larger chunks for a big bite or you can break it apart and make a different bite with a potato or an onion. I haven't had a bad experience at this place before, so maybe last night was an exception. Not sure what the problem was, but the guy tending bar last night wasn't very accommodating. The bar was mostly empty, as was the restaurant. We were ignored at first, then we ordered drinks. He curtly replied that it would be 10 minutes or more to get our drinks because he was too busy. Looking around, we couldn't understand why, I've seen this place really busy, and last night definitely was not! Maybe tending bar is not this guy's thing, but at least be friendly! One of the best happy hour spots in Reno, hands down! Lots of options for yums. It was Taco Tuesday when we went, so the special was two tacos and a beer for $12, in addition to the regular 2pm to 6pm happy hour special where you can choose three "snacks" for a total of $15. And by "snacks," they're really more like hearty appetizers... and there are A LOT to choose from! We actually had a hard time deciding what we wanted... and then were given even more options! For example, one item of the three we ordered was pulled pork sliders - we were then given the choice of teriyaki or BBQ sauces. I don't know anywhere else in town where you can actually customize your happy hour food! We ended up choosing carne asada street tacos, teriyaki pulled pork sliders, and spinach-artichoke dip; see photo. The tacos were delicious and authentic street style. The sliders were hearty and delicious. And the spinach-artichoke dip was absolutely fantastic. (I make my own dip at home that I love and this was shockingly similar; couldn't stop eating it!). Btw the two of us, we still couldn't finish our happy hour meal; substantial, for sure, and a great value. Our server/bartender was Mikayla and she was WONDERFUL! The sauce in the sandwhich was really good. The tri tip was overcooked for me and the chimichurri sauce wasn't it. There was just something else missing in that sandwhich for me. I also asked if they can have my fries to be a little more crispy but they came out super soggy instead. This was my first visit to the south location & my first time trying their brunch menu! I was feeling a little off and needed something simple to enjoy, their avocado toast hit the spot! They were busy but we weren't even acknowledged or asked how many were in our party when we walked in. We opted to sit at the bar for a more casual experience. We had to ask for menus and then when we decided on food we had to flag down the bartender. However, Big Horn's food is always the best. My husband came here for Taco Tuesday recently and it was even better than expected! It was our first time at this location. It is a cute, welcoming sports bar/restaurant! With sports decor on the walls and baseball playoffs on the various tvs, my husband was super happy to dine here. They also offer outside dining. On top of that, our server was very patient, attentive, and positive. Taco Tuesday here means for $12 you can have your choice of two tacos (chicken, pork, steak, shrimp, tofu, or fish) and a beer (a wide variety of choices). Nice place. It was deceiving in terms of size as it's on the corner of the building. I thought it was going to be a lot larger inside, but it felt pretty crowded. Upside on nice days there's a huge outside patio area in the front. When you walk in there's a bunch of high top seating, L-shaped bar with the kitchen area behind it, and to the left are a bunch of tables. A decent amount of TVs to watch games too. The staff were friendly and checked in on us throughout the meal. They were busy when we came in. No one was at the front but there was a sign that said wait to be seated. They could have been short staffed but it took a bit for staff to notice us waiting at the front to be seated. In general the place is nice. It can get loud and had more of a pub feel to it at times than a restaurant. We ordered a good amount off the menu and everything was good. Our food came out promptly and was delicious! There was an abundance of prime rib, as well as melted cheese and a nice warm cupof au jus. The sandwich roll was super soft and very delicious. The onion rings that came with it crispy and hot. My partner ordered the chicken sandwich and said it was one of the best he had ever had. Our server was attentive and very kind. Today we got the following: 3 For $15 Snacks - Wow, generous portions. I was worried that there would not be enough food for us, so I suggested we each order a 3 for $15. But as usual, because we are light eaters, we could have just shared one. Hummus - Smooth and tasty. Perfect with the naan and fresh veggies. Too bad I am taking a break from eating healthy, lol. Teriyaki Pork Sliders - So good. Perfect balance with pork, veggies, bun, and sauce. Dry Rub Wings - 4 of the 5 pieces were perfect. Good size wings, decent flavor, etc. One wing was just skin, no meat, and it was over fried. Loaded Bighorn Fries - I was surprised my wife ordered this. It was just okay. The sourcream and soggy fries is just not mine nor my wife's thing. Tacos Al Pastor - My wife LOVED the fermented red cabbage! Generous portions. We were only able to share ONE of the two tacos... BBQ Pork Sliders - Good, but not as good as the teriyaki pork sliders. The veggies made a difference. And to wash it all down - Two 22oz Boneyard RPM IPA's. Actually one would have been enough; I actually had a hard time finishing the second one. Plus my wife pressured me as there was a line finally forming at the door. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Bar, counter top, table seating. Plenty of outdoor seating; well it is the winter, lol. Plenty of mall parking. The women's bathroom was out of order; see picture. And the men's restroom does NOT have a lock. So fairly uncomfortable as I watched all the men enter the restroom when there was a woman inside. Plus the stall did NOT lock either... Open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm or 11pm. Service - Janice was very good and professional, 5 stars. We watched her service so many tables so smoothly. And always checking up on everyone. I've been going to the Bighorn on 7th street for a long time and have always appreciated it's neighborhood feel and good food menu. I was excited to hear there was a new location and was finally able to get over there for a lunch date with the Mrs. The new location is in a nice quiet shopping center off Lakeside. There is nice outdoor seating with water feature out front, and the inside also looks nice and has the classic sport bar decor and lot's of TVs. It was a beautiful day so we opted to sit outside and were quickly greeted by our server that gave some recommendations for the beers on tap. Bighorn always has a great selection of local and national beers and a broad food menu. I always find myself torn as to what I want, but for this trip I was craving a burger and ordered a Tavern Burger. It was cooked perfectly and is one of the better burgers in town! The fries are also really good with the fresh cut fried, just the way I like them. Everything about our visit was excellent, great service, food and drinks. The Bighorn is a local favorite and family owned business and I'm happy to support them as they always deliver good food and have a great atmosphere. We came here to try their brunch and were not disappointed! We arrived around 10:30am on a Saturday and the place was pretty empty. We were seated promptly, we chose a spot on the patio. I ordered an omelette and my husband got the chorizo tacos! Serving sizes are appropriate, not huge but still enough to fill you up. The omelette are build-your-own style where you get 2 veggies, 1 meat, and cheese. I went with jalapeño, mushrooms, bacon, and cheddar cheese! The cheese was on top and there were so many of the other ingredients packed on the inside. This was one of the best omelettes I've had in a while! It came with fruit or potatoes and some toast as well. My husband had great things to say about his chorizo tacos too, the meat was especially tasty. It only came with two tacos but they had plenty of fillings to make you feel like you still got enough. Service was meh, would've expected a little better for the place being empty. Our waters didn't get refilled until we were done with our meals. Prices were very affordable, the two entrees plus a coffee was around $30!
