    Bighorn Clubhouse
    Jennifer S.

Staff were friendly and we were quick to be seated. The casual corner hangout was just what we were looking for. I had the Bighorn Clubhouse sandwich and my husband had the seasonal special pesto chicken sandwich. The clubhouse, even with the mayo, was in desperate need of more sauce, but the pesto chicken was tasty. Sadly, we were looking forward to the fresh cut fries but they were forgotten in the fryer and burnt all around. I look forward to my next visit with hopefully a better food showing.

The food is delicious, plentiful and freshly made. The specials are available daily and also by seasons. I still have not tried everything on the menu and I do come regularly for DJ Trivia. It does get crowded on Trivia nights so be prepared for a wait for a table sometimes. The staff is working hard and they are professional and personable. The ambiance is fun and family oriented with lots of sports and animal decorations so typical for Reno. The draft beers are plentiful as are the various wines. Outdoor seating is very nice this time of year!

I like Bighorn Tavern. My favorite thing to order is the El Pastore burger. But come on guys, turn the volume on for your TV sports games. We wanna get rowdy!

First time at this location and it was cool! Watched some basketball and had some yummy tacos. They made them super plain for me and they were perfect. The chicken in them was very good. I also really liked my strawberry mule mocktail. I didn't really love my raspberry lemon drop it was a bit strong for my taste. The fries also needed to be salty in my opinion. I like the vibes and we will be back this weekend for more March madness final 4. I'd actually really like to try brunch too. Nice outdoor patio but no TVs.

Mozzarella bites and a healthy side of marinara dipping sauce.

We loved the vibe of this place and their food was delicious! We got the scotch egg and mozzarella bites. It was plenty and their portions are generous. The scotch egg was one of the best we've ever had with a nice thick layer of seasoned sausage. We went to the bar after dining and Josh ‍ took excellent care of us. He was busy and attentive. He's very good at his job and we are planning to come back again before we leave and try other menu items. Definitely worth a visit!!

Visited this location for dinner and were sat immediately, even with them being packed! Our server, Bobby was really helpful in how we should order our elk burger and he took care of us promptly. We started out with the deviled eggs and wrapped up with the elk burger. I really enjoyed the deviled eggs (total of 4). The filling has jalapeño mixed In and topped with bacon. Delish! The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries on the side were piping hot. I did feel like the burger lacked a zing but other than that, it was great in terms of freshness and uniqueness. Their ranch is also amazing. A great family friendly place with wonderful ambiance and warm decor to grab a bite of food that's more than bar food and catch a game. Can't wait to come back!

Good food, top notch service and a cool vibe. Our server Bobby was very helpful and offered advice on our meal. Thanks Bobby. Elk burger was good, but definitely want to try their other burger options. The jalapeño deviled eggs were a great way to start. Those eggs had a little fire, not too much, but noticeable and enjoyable. The bacon topping was spot on. No need to overload you with details. You walk in, get seated and have a drink in front of you pronto. Solid food menu and plenty of libation options. Would return.

Have to come back with the hubby! I didn't even know of this place, so I'd consider this a good find. This visit was more social with a side if breakfast, and our server totally got that. She had us with drinks right away and gave us plenty of time to look at the menu and chat. Very casual vibe, with a bar present to sit at for food or drinks. Nothing fancy so, as you are. Breakfast tacos - I wanted the chorizo tacos, but they were out!! Must be really good! So I went woth bacon, extra crispy pleaese! The tacos were really good. The tortillas were just the right amount of crisp like they'd been toasted. The green salsa was so good: a little spice, a little tang, and just a perfect topper for those tacos. The pork hash was just amazing. I will be going back just for that dish. I didn't know what to expect, and now I know it will be a flavor bomb every time. The pork is fork, tender, left in larger chunks for a big bite or you can break it apart and make a different bite with a potato or an onion. I don't really know how to describe the flavor, it was just amazing. It had a little bit of sweet, a lot of savory, a good amount of tang. It was just simply what I would consider a perfect example of umami.

Rustic bar/restaurant with good food and full bar. Can get a bit noisy in the evening but a friendly atmosphere. We were able to get a table for eight with little problem. Family friendly.

We had a great time at the Bighorn Tavern last Father's Day, tried the meatballs and fries they were both truly delicious, service was fast and friendly loved the lodge type vibe with the open beam ceiling. We are definitely coming back!

Happy hour; 2-6pm. Spinach artichoke dip, teriyaki pulled pork sliders, & carne street tacos. Only $15!
    Kendra J.

One of the best happy hour spots in Reno, hands down! Lots of options for yums. It was Taco Tuesday when we went, so the special was two tacos and a beer for $12, in addition to the regular 2pm to 6pm happy hour special where you can choose three "snacks" for a total of $15. And by "snacks," they're really more like hearty appetizers... and there are A LOT to choose from! We actually had a hard time deciding what we wanted... and then were given even more options! For example, one item of the three we ordered was pulled pork sliders - we were then given the choice of teriyaki or BBQ sauces. I don't know anywhere else in town where you can actually customize your happy hour food! We ended up choosing carne asada street tacos, teriyaki pulled pork sliders, and spinach-artichoke dip; see photo. The tacos were delicious and authentic street style. The sliders were hearty and delicious. And the spinach-artichoke dip was absolutely fantastic. (I make my own dip at home that I love and this was shockingly similar; couldn't stop eating it!). Btw the two of us, we still couldn't finish our happy hour meal; substantial, for sure, and a great value. Our server/bartender was Mikayla and she was WONDERFUL! She was finishing up a heavy lunch rush and was wrapping up her shift, but still made sure she took care of us from the beginning to the end of our meal. Mikayla was bright, shiny, happy, and took time to explain all the happy hour options; she's a valuable employee for sure! This was my third visit to the Lakeside location, but my first time ordering from the happy hour special, and I'm looking fwd to going back very, very soon!

We went on Sunday around noon thirtyish we ordered bloody Maria's, which is made the tequila Instead of vodka. Chandler was our waiter. He was attentive friendly with an easiness about his demeanor. The burgers were good. The onion ring was really tasty. And the Bloody Mary's and Bloody Maria's were outstanding. It was quite a hot day outside at 101° which I think spilled over into the restaurant a bit. It was quite warm in there today. But overall, very tasty, very casual, and relaxing

The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Situated in Mid-Town, it is conveniently located near the River and an easy walk to to the Pioneer Center. Have no fear, there is quite normal food fare in addition to the more exotic. We went with a large group, so we were able to sample the exotic and the more traditional. Starting with the Double Elk Chops, featured on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins, the Elk is a bit on the gamey side, tender with a hint of lamb taste but a finish of liver, it is not for everyone. Scottish Eggs is a soft boiled egg, wrapped in sausage, then deep fried. It is served with a beer mustard. My friend, from England, was quick to order the Scottish Eggs. He reported that they were a bit over cooked but otherwise fine. 6/10. The Kangaroo Philly Cheese Steak sounds more exotic than the taste. For this sandwich I would have appreciated a bit more Kangaroo :-) but otherwise was good. Our friends seemed to enjoy the Boar Schnitzel and the portion was certainly large, as were all the portions at the Washoe Public House. The Short Ribs were so tended and a just a touch on the sweet side. My wife liked the sweetness but as a full meal, it was a bit sweet for my palate. I had the Washoe Burger with Bacon. A solid burger. I would have preferred my patty a bit less cooked but it was fine none the less. Rich with flavor, a solid choice. The fries were good. Nothing spectacular. It you are looking for different, Washoe Public House just might be the ticket. Fantastic cuisine, located close to the River and other entertainment.

The riverside setting made for a relaxing atmosphere and was a great place to spend a summer afternoon. We started with the Crab & Salmon Cakes, and they were outstanding. The presentation was beautiful, and each cake had a perfectly crisp exterior while remaining delicate inside. You could clearly taste both the crab and salmon, and the slightly spicy aioli complemented them perfectly without overpowering the seafood. For cocktails, I ordered the Tequila Mockingbird, and it was excellent. The mezcal's smoky flavor came through clearly, almost reminding me of a good Scotch, yet it had just enough sweetness to keep it balanced. If you enjoy spirit-forward cocktails that aren't overly sweet, I'd highly recommend it. My wife ordered the Razz Jazz and later the Rosé All Day. She loved the Razz Jazz, describing it as refreshing, lightly sweet, and lemony, with enough alcohol flavor to remind you it's a cocktail without being overpowering. The Rosé All Day was another refreshing choice and perfect for a warm afternoon on the patio. For lunch, we ordered the French Dip and the Tri-Tip Sandwich. The French Dip was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the rich au jus. The Tri-Tip Sandwich was loaded with smoky, well-seasoned beef on fresh bread. It was a bit richer than I personally prefer, but the quality of the meat was undeniable. The fries were a standout in their own right, perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned just right. Wild River Grille isn't the least expensive lunch in town, but the quality of the food, expertly crafted cocktails, attentive service, and beautiful riverside patio made it feel well worth the price.
