Went there last night with my wife and our friend. The ambiance was great and our server nice. My old fashioned had good flavor but the mini ice cubes melted quick and watered it down. I guess I needed to drink it faster! The apps were solid. The pretzel bites and beer cheese kicked ass and the hummus was excellent. So far so good. I ordered the 6oz. sirloin, medium rare, and boy did I learn my lesson. I've eaten here about 20-25 times and should have stuck with a burger or something that didn't require effort. That sirloin was so well done they must have cooked it twice. It was like eating a middle school burger with a knife and fork. This place is decent. Old Granite Eatery is a local spot that has been around for a while. This is a charming place to meet your friends OR for an old fashioned date night. The atmosphere is small and quaint and holds some history. Built in 1893 and at one time a wedding chapel. We enjoyed a few appetizers, on the happy hour menu that were quite good. And ended sharing the Barramundi with seasonal veggies. Super light not heavy and prepared perfectly. Lauren was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I remember when this placed first opened and it was amazing but nowadays it feels like the quality has gone down. The location is amazing and I love the small style and decorations. The service was great but the food was just okay. We got chicken wings and they seemed like frozen ones you could get from any sports bar. We recently stopped in for lunch with some friends and, once again, we were not disappointed. It was a late lunch on a Sunday, and the place was pretty empty, so we could easily talk/hear each other. My wife ordered the Cobb Salad, which she really liked. I selected the Fish and Chips, and asked for the fries to be extra crispy. The fish was a little heavily breaded, but super tasty. 1/23 So we were out on a Friday night a group of us coming from a yelp event that did not involve food so we needed somewhere to eat. A couple of places were really busy due to it being a Friday night, but we came across this place and it was not very crowded. We had a party of seven we were greeted immediately and sat. Megan C was our server and she was amazing. SERVICE was really good. Ambience was cool. Very laid-back. I ordered the blazin burger with sweet potato waffle fries, and it was delicious. I also had an old granite fashioned (old fashion)and it was delish . Wife had the honey garlic chicken sandwich and a salad and she really enjoyed. On a Friday evening that was quite busy everywhere else, our group of 7 came in and were seated right away. It has been some time since I have visited, and I was pleased to see that the quiet charm is still here. Our sever Megan was very sweet and took such good care of us. She took our drink orders and had them out very quickly. I ordered their signature old-fashioned, it was crafted very well. I enjoyed it. I wasn't feeling like having a large meal that late in the evening, so I decided on the soup of the day, which happened to be chili. It was a perfect comfort meal on a cold evening. Located about a block from the Pioneer Center, the Old Granite Street Eatery makes for a perfect date night of dinner and a show. I rarely open with the service but tonight our waitress Allison (?) was deserving of the kudos. Happy, friendly and welcoming, Allison added so much to the experience. The other staff were equally friendly and helpful. We sat at a cozy booth for four, which was fine if not a bit snug. We ordered a variety of meals, so let me start with the Chicken Ceasar Salad. Fresh and flavorful, the salad was served with the usual parmesan cheese and croutons. What made the salad special were the bits of bacon and avocado. Delicious. Not feeling overly peckish, a friend opted for the "OG" wings and fries as her main. She opted for the Honey Garlic sauce, which while delicous proved to be a complicated choice, considering we were going to show afterwards. Sticky fingers. Our friend ordered the Pan Seared Barramundi. A delicious, flaky white fish, the fish was absolutely delicious. Served with rice and asparagus. My wife went with the Sirloin Steak. While Sirloin would not have been my first choice, the Bacon Chipotle Demi-Glaze was a nice touch. The potatoes were a bit on the dry side, perhaps sitting under the warming lights a touch too long. This was our first time here and we came before a show at the Pioneer Center. Nice restaurant with high ceilings, bar area, tables, and booths. They even had hooks on the booths that you could hang jackets or bags on to allow for more space while seated. Nice touch. The staff greeted us and are very friendly with great energy. We had a reservation and were sat right away. We ordered a couple appetizers (hummus plate and bacon chips) since it was happy hour and there was a 2 for $20 deal. Our main meal had us both trying their burgers (bison burger and breakfast burger). The food was delicious. Our server was super friendly, checked in on us, and always had a smile. Our first time here. We walked in and were immediately nervous because no other customers were there. Gulp. We started with the pretzel bites. They came fresh with melty beer cheese - tasty. Our server was friendly to start but got increasingly more distant as time went on. The water jugs on the table were empty almost immediately and never refilled. Also - warm water as no ice was offered. Call me a cranky American but I love some ice in my water!! Entrees were tasty but took a while to come out. I was disappointed in my Parmesan garlic fries - the flavor was there but the fries were lukewarm at best when they arrived. Blazing burger was indeed quite spicy. Came with my mom prior to a performance at the Theater and thoroughly enjoyed our time during happy hour! Half of drinks and cheap glasses of good wine was definitely a highlight! Our server was very nice and attentive even thought we were there a couple of hours. We started with wine and cocktails and then each ordered a different burger. My spicy jalapeño burger was top notch and tasted delicious! The caesar salad was also good and fishy which is how I like my caesar salads. It was our first time here at Old Granite Street Eatery. We came here for lunch during a weekday and came right when it opened at 11am. It's located in Midtown. Front door has steps and if needed there's a back door with somewhat of a ramp, which we wish we knew beforehand because we had a stroller. Place is cute with a little bar to the right. A little dusty inside, could use a little cleaning around the seating areas and menus could use a wipe down. When we first walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. Water is already pre poured in a pitcher on the table. We ordered a honey chicken sandwich with battered french fries and a breakfast burger with waffle sweet potato fries. Wow, long time since my last review, and time for an update! Granite Street has become a staple as one of the quality restaurants in the downtown Reno area. My wife and I decided to wing it for dinner out on a Friday night. After walking by a few spots, we decided to revisit Granite Street as it has been a year or 2 since we last dined here. Busy on a Friday which was great to see, and the staff was really accommodating to fit us into a table without reservations. Great menu with lot's of good options to choose from, I especially like all the different burgers, and have always been a fan of their burgers overall here. We started with the Roasted Brussel Sprouts, which were a good starter, nice and light with a spring green mix which worked well. We shared the Cobb Salad and the Breakfast Burger with a side of Sweet potato waffle fries. Really good, I'm sometimes hesitant to order burgers with egg but this one was exactly what I was hoping for. Great meal overall, our server was quick to take our order and food came out quickly and fresh. Glad I came by for another visit, every time I walk in I appreciate the open design and I'm remind of the history of the building. The restaurant has cozy booths for 2 or 4 people. The food is great and pairs well with the craft beers that are featured on tap. (BTW- coldest beer on tap- in my opinion) The menu features burgers, sandwiches, small plate appetizers and specials such as fish and chips. The Wurst platter had three crisp on the outside juicy on the inside sausages. The whole grain mustard and sauerkraut made this a well rounded and flavorful dish. Checked out this place while in Reno and it was good. Place is nice inside, I will say it was definitely a little warm in there, but it was also a warm summer day. I had their version of a chicken pot pie, it was good, but definitely not what I was expecting. A lot of the group got burgers and they all enjoyed them. Food was overall good, they had a wide variety of drinks, and location of this place was good. I took a star out because we specifically asked what were the "sliders for the day" and the server replied she'll get back with us after checking with the kitchen. The server came back and let us know what the sliders are for the day. Everyone put their order in to include the "special sliders". When all the orders were served, the server said they actually do not have the server and the kitchen made a mistake. You would think that they would catch that before everyone's orders were served. So everyone else was eating but the person who ordered sliders as he had to wait for a new order. Other than that, all was good. I usually check out the menu online, before selecting a restaurant. I am semivegetarian and want to make sure that there are options avaliable for me. My wife and I have had our eyes on this restaurant for a while and we've recently (finally) paid them a visit to try a couple of their burgers. I ordered the breakfast burger and she ordered the blue cheese and bbq burger. As an appetizer, we of course got the bacon chips. To finish off the meal, we ordered a slice of their Italian Lemon Cream Cake. The burgers were good. They didn't blow our minds but they did the job. It appeared to me that the patties were NOT fresh, hand rolled. Which makes me question their high prices. The bacon chips were stupid good. As was the cake. It was the perfect finish to a fairly heavy meal. Our server was good too. He was attentive without being overbearing and was friendly to boot. I would definitely come back. I wanted to love Old Granite Street Eatery, but I was sadly very underwhelmed and disappointed with the poor service. We went during lunch, and the restaurant was very slow. There seemed to be only one server, and he warned us we would have a long wait for food. However, there were few guests so I'm not sure what the problem was. We sat for an hour before we received our food, and our selections were not as tasty as we hoped for. I will try to come back again, perhaps for the dinner service. read more

Had a great experience at Granite Street with a last minute change of plans for my friend's birthday dinner. Carlos and his staff were able to accommodate my party of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) on a Tuesday night. Started with drinks and we each enjoyed our cocktails from the creamsicle, a special cocktail for the birthday boy, Granite Bloody and their old fashioned. Wish I had more pictures but all tasted amazing to start off. All our meals from Beer Cheese Burger, Breakfast Burger, NaaN Chicken Sandwich and steak were all finished before a picture was even taken but we were all satisfied beyond our expectations. Our server was very attentive and even got to sneak a birthday deep fried cheesecake at the end timed perfectly before our check arrived. The restaurant catered to our robust group since we were just having a lively conversation and laughing throughout the night. I do really like this place. Their food is always really good and I enjoy their cocktails a lot!! The staff has always been kind when we have come in even when overwhelmed and busy. Con: There has been a few times when staff gets really overwhelmed and the bar gets backed up. Dont come here on a Pioneer show night unless you have a reservation. One time we came in not knowing there was a show, and they wouldnt seat us. They finally fit us in at the bar. We would have gone elsewhere, but we were starving and had already tried a few other places that were also full because of the play. That day, the host was also serving, and our food took over 40 minutes. But hey, they still got us in. Ive been there a few times when theyre short staffed. The server is also hosting and dealing with reservations and theres one bartender. They don't have a lot of space by the bar, so on busy days, I've seen on multiple occasions dirty glasses piling up in the guests view on the bar and around their sink.. It's not the most attractive. But honestly, when they're busy and there's only one bartender, you can't blame them for that. read more

I've never eaten here before and now in the last week I've eaten here twice! Came in on wednesday and ate outside with my husband and another couple, along with our two dogs. Service was great, instantly someone brought water out for our dogs without us even asking which was very considerate especially considering these hot summer days. This eatery is a very good local pub. We enjoyed our late lunch very much. The food is great and the service is amazing. They have 12 beers on tap. 11 of the 12 are craft/local. I do believe that the 12th is a fishing expedition. It is Coors Light. I can only assume that if you were to order this, then you would be ridiculed by the staff.
