When I come back to Reno, I'm coming here for breakfast! The place has a mix of a modern and old timy diner vibe and the booths are spacious for big groups to sit and enjoy. My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience here from begin to end. The staff was kind and attentive, we had a waitress who sat us down and got us coffee and water, and after that it was uphill from there. We had three other servers stop to ask if we needed anything or wanted to give our order, and once we made up our mind the waiter who helped us did a fantastic job. No pen or notepad, he remembered our order with full detail and not one mess up. As we finished out appetizer, sides, and meal he continued to come by and take our plates, refill our water and my coffee. He was on point. By the end of the meal I paid the bill and gave him a cash tip and thanked him. He seemed happy and thanked us for stopping in and conversing with him. Out of towner passing through Reno. Found this place based on the outstanding reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the reputation. The food was amazing and the price was extremely reasonable. The service was top notch - my waitress was refilling my coffee and water at the perfect time it needed to be filled, she was generous in allowing me some edits to my meal, and she was extremely pleasant and super nice. We went to Arnie's Cafe one weekday morning when we happened to be all off from work because trying to eat at Arnie's Cafe one weekday the weekend is pretty impossible since they're often super-busy. When dropped in, our5-person party was easily accommodated at a nearby table. The server got us a round of drinks: tea, water and coffee then afterwards, our entrees: chicken fried steak and eggs, a steak omelette, a one-egg breakfast with an extra egg, the sausage and pancake breakfast combo, and the two-egg breakfast special. The food was delicious; expertly prepared and had huge portions-- there was plenty of leftovers to make another meal. It was my first time in to Arnie's after an eventful week for my family. It was a nice change of pace to have a quiet slow paced morning and brunch with my kids. Arnie's is locally owned and family run and we were so glad we finally made the time to stay and wait for a table. They were BUSY, but it was so worth the wait. This is spacious restaurant with variety, quality food, decent servings at a great price. Miguel was our server, he was charming and helpful navigating all the choices on the menu. I looked over their specials board and I was so happy to see they offered specialty coffees and non dairy options for milk. I was spoiled with an espresso machine for my birthday this year, so I've become an espresso snob and I didn't get my fix at home before leaving for brunch, so I started with their dulce de Leche iced latte, my daughter had an iced matcha latte, and my sister ordered a mocha. I had to have their steak and eggs. My kids ordered pancakes and eggs, my sister ordered their stuffed french toast. Everything was cooked perfectly and the smell of pancakes were amazing that I caved and had more than two bites; every bite was heavenly. I can't wait to come back with the rest of our family. So I decided to pick up breakfast for my son and take it to his work so I stopped at Arnie's this morning. It is always very clean in here. Also, the staff is always very friendly. The food is always fresh. I asked for a container for some Cholula to go and they said we will do that for you. They are always helpful. The food is always very tasty here at Arnies cafe. What days are a little slower? Weekends are always super busy. Which was nice to come here when it was a tad slower. The waiters and waitresses are always moving. Minimalist on the decor but the Food was a super great value. You get great tasting decent sized portions for an even better price. It's family owned and operated everyone was super nice and the food came out quickly. We ordered the sampler, they seven allowed us to change one of the items...most places never do that. We had Chicken strips, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. Everything was great. The onion rings weren't greasy. The mozzarella sticks were flavorful and ooey gooey. The Chicken Strips were big and the BBQ sauce was just the way we like it and not overly sweet. We both had salads Chef salad and Buffalo Chicken Salad. The salads were good size and very reasonably priced. It just goes to show you that it's worth checking out the local hangouts and explore when you go to a new town. My friend suggested we check this place out, and I'm so glad we did! We arrived around 10:30 AM on a weekday, and even though it was pretty busy, there was still plenty of parking. This was my first time here and WOW I'm glad I stopped by. This place was BUSY. I think the wait was twice as long upon our leaving, but the staff handled it really well. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my SIL ordered the Chorizo & Eggs. Both were really good. What elevated my Bene? The fact that the English muffin was buttered and toasted to a nice crispy crunch. That little added texture really made it for me. My SIL asked for flour tortillas and they were homemade! The vanilla latte was really good and just the right size. Objectivity warning: Self-admitting (American) breakfast food hater here. I'm not a fan of breakfast diners, but I'm willing to give all of them a fair shot, who knows, maybe this one will be vastly different/better than the others? Spoiler, this one is not. That's not to say it's bad, but it just doesn't stand out enough for me to wait to be seated to eat here often, or give it a good recommendation. The wait was pretty short, only about 10 minutes which we were informed of. It was probably their busiest time of the week, Sunday around around noon. The server was very nice and a helpful, never letting us go too long without checking up, and communicated well about things she still needed to bring us. The food was nothing special. It's what I'd expect, but nothing interesting. I got a sandwich, and my companion got the chicken-fried steak. The sandwich was pretty boring, and the gravy on the chicken-fried steak still tasted like uncooked flour, and not much else. All the orders came with a generous selection of sides and the prices were extremely reasonable. Nov 2nd 1st time trying this place. This place is popular for sure. Was greeted immediately, Table for 4 about 10/15 min wait not bad. Was pretty busy . Once seated Miguel was our server and was excellent. We ordered and food came pretty quick. Everyone enjoyed their food came out nice and hot. I had the traditional breakfast with huge bacon strips and hashbrowns and sunny side up and everything was cooked to perfection. Hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. Everything tasted really good. Our friend only had one problem with hers. The steak was overdone, but they quickly took care of it and got her another one cooked, medium rare. Everything was great . This place was a disappointment from the moment I sat down. Sure, service was fast and the waitress tried her best, but none of that matters when the basics are this bad. The silverware was filthy, and the water literally had coffee grounds floating in it. That alone should never happen in a restaurant. The food? Bland, forgettable, and absolutely not worth the risk of eating off dirty utensils. Entered around 10 am. It's a typical diner with booths, tables and a counter. As I entered the host greeted me. I told her I was going to the counter. As I sat down I was immediately asked what beverage I preferred. I ordered a coffee which was really good. We visited Arnie's cafe for the first time last Friday based on the great reviews from yelp. We went around 9 AM this Sunday and it wasn't too crowded - but soon after the popularity showed and there was a wait. What stands out to me from this visit was the excellent service, comfortable clean booths, the wide variety of the menu and good sized portions. I had the breakfast sandwich with ham and one of the fluffiest eggs I've had in a breakfast sandwich with nice crispy hashbrowns. My husband had the chicken fried steak, which is one of his favorites. Perhaps it was what we ordered , and although the food was good, it wasn't great -just somewhat more basic, and it was a bit too oily or heavy on the butter. I took home a portion of the sandwich and after it sitting in the container in the fridge and reheating it wasn't edible the next day. Well give them a try again and try more of the options because they are a great centrally located new breakfast spot to us. read more

I also saw their OJ came in 2 sizes both small and large and pointed to the menu when I ordered the large for $5. The drink came out first with the meal following less than 5 minutes later. The plate looked good with a lot of food on it and I enjoyed every bite. The OJ was very good too. When the bill arrived, I noticed that the OJ price was $7.25. I asked the waitress why it wasn't $5 like on the menu? She said because it was fresh squeezed. I said "but I asked for and pointed at the $5 large on the menu". All she said again was that it was fresh squeezed. I didn't want to get into an argument about it and let it go. Nowhere on the menu did I see fresh squeezed OJ offered or with a price on it. Amazing breakfast place, Parking lot is big you will find parking anywhere. Weekends are usually packed and there is always a wait but it's totally worth it. The chilaquiles green with carne asada are a good choice. But my go to is the chorizo scramble. But any dish you choose of your liking will be a good option. The have lots of boots and tables so u can let the host know what you prefer. They will accommodate you. But it might add waiting time. The vanilla latte is also a pretty good choice for drink options or the iced chai vanilla latte. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures I was to excited to start eating their delicious food. We went back on 6/26/25 and as always, Arnie's did not miss. My brother ordered the Biggest Littlest Breakfast and said it was amazing--huge portions and cooked just right. We had two well-done carne asada plates with crispy hash browns, and everything was flavorful, hot, and just how we asked. Each of us had a glass of fresh orange juice and it was honestly some of the best OJ we've had cold, fresh-squeezed, and so refreshing. We were passing through Reno on a road trip looking for a suitable brunch. After a quick Internet search, Arnie's stellar ratings caught our eye, the highest rated breakfast spot in Reno. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! The food here is excellent! The large hash browns are a menu highlight, crispy and flavorful. There are a lot of disappointing hash browns out there, but this certainly isn't one of them! The Meat Lovers Omelette is also highly recommended with high quality sausage, ham, and bacon and a dash of Monterey Jack cheese. We started with a couple coffees and she brought them to us immediately with a bowl of creamers to choose from. I ordered a side of pancakes and a side of scrambled eggs to share with my daughter. When she brought the pancakes she also brought bacon and no eggs. I mentioned that I ordered eggs and not the bacon and she apologized, let us keep the bacon and she brought me a plate of beautiful scrambled eggs.
