This is my first time to Walden's very quaint. The food was very good lots of options, but this caught my eye and my friends ordered the same thing. It's a lot of food you could actually share if you eat like me so I took a half a sandwich home it's on sourdough bread very good. This was a grilled chicken with bacon smashed avocado, a nice dressing, lettuce, tomato pickles so good then the salad had a nice dressing on it and cheese, cranberries very good and then I had a nice latte cause I really wasn't in the mood for a soda Highly recommend I gave it four stars because service was OK nothing to rave about there really no problems with them just not personable. read more

We stopped by this coffee shop on our last day in Reno. I ordered the avocado sandwich, and overall it was good, but the pistachios on top weren't really my thing. I actually love pistachios, just not on avocado toast. The combination felt a bit off for me. I tried removing them, but the flavor was still there, so that was the only downside. My husband had a burrito and enjoyed it. It wasn't anything outstanding, but definitely decent and satisfying. I ordered a matcha and really liked it, and there are other drinks and items worth trying as well. Overall, it's not an exquisite or must-visit spot, but it's a solid place to grab coffee and a bite if you're nearby. Would stop in again if we were in the area. read more

Absolutely love this place! Their lattes are amazing, perfectly prepared and a great way to start my day. I'm also a huge fan of their breakfast sandwiches and burritos; they are incredibly flavorful and so satisfying. Beyond the delicious food and coffee, the service is exceptionally friendly, and the atmosphere is charming. It has a cute little ambiance with some seating, perfect for a relaxed start to the morning. Just a heads-up: the parking lot is tiny, but you can usually find street parking nearby. It's definitely worth the quick walk. read more

Really enjoy this little gem. Was greeted by the staff coming through the door. They were very friendly and gave me suggestions on what to get. Both their breakfast and lunch menu look really good. I decided on breakfast and ordered the MacWalden and a Caramel Macchiato. They have almond and oat milk for milk alternatives. Both of the items I got were really good. Their sausage patty is made in house and is a really nice touch and sets this sandwich apart from the usual go-to. The dining area is a nice size but still pretty quaint. A great place to have a meeting or just come meet with a friend. Will be back to try their lunch menu. Really enjoyed stopping here this morning! read more

You can't beat Walden's vanilla iced chai!! I also come here for a really good deal on a breakfast burrito that is so ginormous you can split into two meals. My hack is to call ahead so that way it's ready for when I'm there, as sometimes items in the kitchen take a little bit longer! read more

On a recent trip to Reno , made a random find of this place for a breakfast bite and coffee. What a great uprise as this place was a gem find. It's a go to counter order and then sit down kinda place. The staff was excellent and helpful and we checked the options. The interior was very clean and had a nice Christmas vibe as they seemed to take care to make the eating experience one you will remember I have the breakfast burrito and it was A+, especially with the grilled tortilla , and the portion as excellent. Didn't think I'd finish it all but did , and easily skipped lunch that day. Another had avocado toast which I tried and have to say one of the best for a small establishment like this. I hadn't been to this Walden's in years and was in the area, so I decided to stop for breakfast. This location is in an old house, so I just love the vintage vibe. The girl that took my order was super nice. I had the Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo and a Dark Roast drip coffee. My burrito was perfectly seasoned and the Salsa was really good. I didn't love the coffee though. It was served out of a carafe, so note to self to upgrade to an Americano next time. read more

Visiting Walden's when I come home to visit always brings up such nostalgic feelings. It's a beautiful coffee shop both inside and out. I have great memories of live amateur music and poetry readings; I hope that hasn't changed much. The seating inside is warm and inviting with everything from couches, counters, and tables. The food portions are large and tasty with a decent menu amount from which to select. Parking can get tight, especially when busy. read more

Love the location. I had the breakfast burrito and it was probably top 2 that I've ever had! I enjoyed the toasted marshmellow matcha as well. I would say they should put a sign that says "watch your step" on the front door going out. Someone could really hurt themselves if they step down and don't realize. Also, I told the young ladies I would be seated outside. Instead of bringing me the food, they just left it on the counter inside for God knows how long. Just a little customer service tip. Stopped in on a weekend morning for brunch with a group of 4. Easily found parking and a table. Ordered coffee and lattes, avocado toast with bacon and poached eggs as well as the breakfast burrito. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Cost for 4 was $86 plus tip. There are a few Walden's in the area, similar menus, this one seemed less busy and easier to get in and out seared for a weekend. Recommend if you are in the area. read more

This old house turned coffee house is one of a kind. Its charming sitting areas and bright interior makes this a perfect place to meet with friends or to work from. There is a good amount of seating inside. The staff is usually friendly and the food and coffee drinks are always amazing! I tried the orange scone and cinnamon roll too which were fantastic. I frequent often. And I recommend that you slide through for a visit. Best coffee shop in the hood. They have cool merch and sell coffee beans too. Get cozy. Stop in. read more

First time, placed my order through DoorDash. They give my order out to someone else. My dasher waited half hour or longer for they to remake the food because someone simply couldn't bother to check the name or order confirmation. I never received the coffee I ordered either. Ordered to go- marshmallow almond milk latte and breakfast burrito. The marshmallow flavor was too sweet for me but the espresso was good. Burrito came with salsa and was packed with potatoes, eggs and cheese. Good food, good espresso, nice people and lots of seating area. I was able to park in the front which was convenient. read more

The food was amazing! The breakfast burrito was huge! Try it super :) I requested the eggs to be over easy or to "get yolked" and there was a $1 up-charge, but I think it was worth it. Camille, our barista, was very helpful with explaining the food and had great coffee recommendations. The place was had a homey feel and was very cozy. It was overall a great experience! read more

My husband and I had breakfast here once. I loved the ambiance of this restored historic house. I had a latte and my husband had coffee; both were good. Our hotel room stunk. No breakfast, no coffee. I always start the day with coffee and i found Walden's. Staff was great. The place has a nice homey-feel to it. Always a great experience at Walden's. My only complaint is that not one of their locations is closer to me! Ha Their breakfast burrito is the best around, always my go to. Today I also got a muffin that they heated for me and was tasty, along with my hazelnut oat milk latte. I have a big fan of their coffee flavor! We stopped by Walden's and enjoyed our breakfast. I got the avocado toast since it had hummus and pistachio in it which I hadn't seen before. I didn't notice the hummus on the avocado toast but it had a good ratio of avocado, tomato, feta and pistachio. My best friend got the breakfast burrito and really liked it but only ate half since it was so big. I ordered the soup of the day but since they ran out, it got exchanged with a bear claw and scone. The atmosphere was also pretty calming in the morning, we came close to opening time and were only the second group of people there but it does get busy as time passes. They have a variety of indoor seating as well as some outdoor seating, would recommend to come and relax here for breakfast. read more

Walden's is always so delicious, they know what they are doing. Came in for the first time to this location and was pleasantly surprised that dogs were allowed on the patio. My husband and I split the breakfast burrito with chorizo, got it super and smothered. I did notice on the menu it says smothered burritos come with cilantro. I unfortunately have "the soap gene" and asked for no cilantro. The employee taking the order assured me that this item does not come with cilantro which I thought was strange since it's on the menu but I didn't push it. Once we got our burrito it had cilantro. I toughed it out because it's not a huge deal, but if this was actually a serious allergy and the ingredient was inside of the burrito unseen, that could get someone really sick. It's important to know the ingredients in the food you're serving, or at the very least even if you think a customer is wrong you still mention it to the chef just in case. Although I gotta say, this burrito is soooo good. The chili on top was perfect. At first I thought it seemed expensive (around $20 by making it super and smothered) but then you get it and you see it's definitely worth it. Super quality ingredients, huge, served hot and fresh. I will definitely be getting it again! My husband and I couldn't even finish one between the two of us. My only other feedback would be that the burrito is served on a paper plate with a piece of parchment paper. Although I'm sure this helps with grease and leakage, when you get it smothered the paper rips pretty easily and it was hard not to get pieces of the paper In our food. We also got two iced coffees and they were so tasty. Employees were nice, wait wasn't too long despite it being a Saturday morning, dogs allowed ourside, the bombest breakfast and coffee - Walden's is doing it right. read more

I've been wanting to try Waldens for a long time now. A lot of locals really love this place. I had a craving for a breakfast burrito so today was the day to try Waldens. The staff was friendly. We ordered two breakfast burritos with bacon, adding avocado to them both, and requested the salsa on the side. We waited a while which I consider a good thing, because that means our food is being actually cooked and not just sitting around waiting to be heated up. My name was called and we grabbed our food. The avocado in my burrito was fine, but not in my husband's burrito. It was black and gross and he had to take it off. I have no idea how the cook here thought it would be okay to serve that to us. This could have easily been a 5 star place for us, one star deducted for the black avocado that we paid for and couldn't eat, and one star deducted because the menu online had different prices than the menu in store. read more

I have already reviewed the other 2 Walden's locations and given them 5 stars, so I'm happy to say that this location is no different! This is one of the most solid coffee shops in Reno which says a lot since there are so many excellent options to choose from. This location appears to be in an old house on Arlington, it feels very home-y on the inside and even has cute patio seating out front. I've never done work here before but it seems like an ideal place to come with a laptop to have a productive morning/afternoon. They have plenty of side rooms with lots of quiet seating options. The staff were friendly, my drink was affordable, and my order came out quickly. I got an iced matcha latte with oat milk, the flavor was just right and it was refreshing on a hot day! I did not get any food this time, but I'm a big fan of everything I've tried from Walden's. This location is in a great spot, it is close to both downtown and Midtown. There is limited parking but it is easy to walk here from other nearby streets. I'll continue to support Walden's and look forward to coming back here again in the future! read more

Stopped in here for a quick breakfast with my team before the Reno Tahoe Odyssey. It was the perfect pit stop before a big race; the food was delicious and it was healthy bites too so I didn't feel super groggy I was energized and ready to go! I ordered the power scramble and fell in love; such a good combination of egg and veggies plus the fruit cup was refreshing as heck. I'm a lover for Marzipan which is a variation of mazapan Mexican Candy with the nutty flavor. It does contain nuts! The drink was delicious, tastes just like candy but not too sweet. The baristas here are also insanely nice, and if it weren't for the fact that I'm able to grab a coffee and a bite to eat here, I would have thought this was a therapist's office, because somehow it's like they knew what I needed before I did. There are two girls in particular I see a lot - Jazmine and I think the other girl's name is Mar (???) - who bring the most amazing energy every time I see them, and I feel like they put their entire soul into what they do every morning. In general, if this coffee shop were a person, I would trust them with my taxes, my secrets, and probably my first-born child. Literally a 10/10, and I will continue to come here on a regular basis until someone has to intervene.

The decor, the entertainment, the products all struck a chord with me. On one side - a super cute pour over/loose leaf tea shop with some records for sale. On the other - a cute bar and lounge area equipped with a vinyl player (Bring one in on a Monday for them to play). You have some house pants, checkered floors, and cool vinyl covers all over the walls that make for some great & hip atmosphere and vibes. Their restrooms, though small, and clean and cool. Their pour overs are so flavorful, strong, and made with beans grounded on your visit. I love that they're flavored and sweetened in a way that allows the coffee to shine. If you're into sweeter drinks, ask for a bit more sweetner or add in a brown raw sugar packet yourself from the straw station. I hear their chocolate pour over is a hit. Matchas - prepared in a similar fashion. Slightly sweetned with subtle flavorings. I tried their carrot cake matcha today and really enjoyed the housemade syrup they used to flavor it with. I also love that they offer loose leaf teas. Their chai was nice, fragrant and great with a little sweetner and milk. Shelby over at the bar area was sooo patient with explaining their menu and suggested a isla bonita pineapple shrub drink for a non alcoholic option. Similar to their other drinks on the coffee side, it was tamed in sugar yet still fun and flavorful. I really enjoyed the tang from the apple cider and the spice from the tajin chili powder as a contrasting flavor. Double check their website for bar and coffee shop hours as they differ from one another. And follow them on Instagram for updates on seasonal specials & themed gatherings. A lot of cool local DJs spin here for special events and parties during the holidays. Tip: sit next to the pour over station next to the menu. It's so entertaining, especially with Sydney working the station (thanks so much for the chat and entertainment. Honestly one of the friendliest baristas I've ever met in Reno).
