This is my first time to Walden's very quaint. The food was very good lots of options, but this caught my eye and my friends ordered the same thing. It's a lot of food you could actually share if you eat like me so I took a half a sandwich home it's on sourdough bread very good. This was a grilled chicken with bacon smashed avocado, a nice dressing, lettuce, tomato pickles so good then the salad had a nice dressing on it and cheese, cranberries very good and then I had a nice latte cause I really wasn't in the mood for a soda Highly recommend I gave it four stars because service was OK nothing to rave about there really no problems with them just not personable. read more

We stopped by this coffee shop on our last day in Reno. I ordered the avocado sandwich, and overall it was good, but the pistachios on top weren't really my thing. I actually love pistachios, just not on avocado toast. The combination felt a bit off for me. I tried removing them, but the flavor was still there, so that was the only downside. My husband had a burrito and enjoyed it. It wasn't anything outstanding, but definitely decent and satisfying. I ordered a matcha and really liked it, and there are other drinks and items worth trying as well. Overall, it's not an exquisite or must-visit spot, but it's a solid place to grab coffee and a bite if you're nearby. Would stop in again if we were in the area. read more

I had a really cool experience here. It was my first time visiting. They were very kind and welcoming. It was a lovely place to sit and have brunch or to work for a little bit. I ordered the Matcha latte as well as the iced vanilla chai latte. I really enjoy the iced vanilla chai latte, and I'll definitely be back for it. The Matcha is a little bit different than what I was expecting, but they were kind enough to allow me to switch that out. For the meals, I had the breakfast burrito and the MacWalden and they were so amazing. Really enjoy this little gem. Was greeted by the staff coming through the door. They were very friendly and gave me suggestions on what to get. Both their breakfast and lunch menu look really good. I decided on breakfast and ordered the MacWalden and a Caramel Macchiato. They have almond and oat milk for milk alternatives. Both of the items I got were really good. Their sausage patty is made in house and is a really nice touch and sets this sandwich apart from the usual go-to. The dining area is a nice size but still pretty quaint. A great place to have a meeting or just come meet with a friend. Will be back to try their lunch menu. Really enjoyed stopping here this morning! read more

I called this morning to ask what kind of mushrooms are used in the Corrito burrito, and the person who answered the phone laughed at my question. She then continued laughing while asking someone else what kind of mushrooms they use, as though it was a ridiculous thing to ask. I'm allergic to portobello mushrooms, so yes, knowing the type of mushroom actually matters. I can eat white button mushrooms, and if the burrito contained portobellos, I simply would have asked for them to be left out. I hadn't even placed my order yet, and the interaction was enough for me to take my business elsewhere. When you're answering the phone, you're representing the company. Laughing at a customer for asking a legitimate food-allergy question was extremely inappropriate--especially at 8 a.m. What a way to set the tone for someone's day. read more

I'm also a huge fan of their breakfast sandwiches and burritos; they are incredibly flavorful and so satisfying. On a recent trip to Reno , made a random find of this place for a breakfast bite and coffee. What a great uprise as this place was a gem find. It's a go to counter order and then sit down kinda place. The staff was excellent and helpful and we checked the options. The interior was very clean and had a nice Christmas vibe as they seemed to take care to make the eating experience one you will remember I have the breakfast burrito and it was A+, especially with the grilled tortilla , and the portion as excellent. Didn't think I'd finish it all but did , and easily skipped lunch that day. Another had avocado toast which I tried and have to say one of the best for a small establishment like this. I hadn't been to this Walden's in years and was in the area, so I decided to stop for breakfast. This location is in an old house, so I just love the vintage vibe. The girl that took my order was super nice. I had the Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo and a Dark Roast drip coffee. My burrito was perfectly seasoned and the Salsa was really good. I didn't love the coffee though. It was served out of a carafe, so note to self to upgrade to an Americano next time. read more

I have great memories of live amateur music and poetry readings; I hope that hasn't changed much. The seating inside is warm and inviting with everything from couches, counters, and tables. I would say they should put a sign that says "watch your step" on the front door going out. Someone could really hurt themselves if they step down and don't realize. Walden's is always so delicious, they know what they are doing. Came in for the first time to this location and was pleasantly surprised that dogs were allowed on the patio. My husband and I split the breakfast burrito with chorizo, got it super and smothered. I did notice on the menu it says smothered burritos come with cilantro. I unfortunately have "the soap gene" and asked for no cilantro. The employee taking the order assured me that this item does not come with cilantro which I thought was strange since it's on the menu but I didn't push it. Once we got our burrito it had cilantro. I toughed it out because it's not a huge deal, but if this was actually a serious allergy and the ingredient was inside of the burrito unseen, that could get someone really sick. It's important to know the ingredients in the food you're serving, or at the very least even if you think a customer is wrong you still mention it to the chef just in case. Although I gotta say, this burrito is soooo good. The chili on top was perfect. At first I thought it seemed expensive (around $20 by making it super and smothered) but then you get it and you see it's definitely worth it. Super quality ingredients, huge, served hot and fresh. I will definitely be getting it again! My husband and I couldn't even finish one between the two of us. My only other feedback would be that the burrito is served on a paper plate with a piece of parchment paper. Although I'm sure this helps with grease and leakage, when you get it smothered the paper rips pretty easily and it was hard not to get pieces of the paper In our food. We also got two iced coffees and they were so tasty. We stopped by Walden's and enjoyed our breakfast. I got the avocado toast since it had hummus and pistachio in it which I hadn't seen before. I didn't notice the hummus on the avocado toast but it had a good ratio of avocado, tomato, feta and pistachio. My best friend got the breakfast burrito and really liked it but only ate half since it was so big. I ordered the soup of the day but since they ran out, it got exchanged with a bear claw and scone. The atmosphere was also pretty calming in the morning, we came close to opening time and were only the second group of people there but it does get busy as time passes. I've been wanting to try Waldens for a long time now. A lot of locals really love this place. I had a craving for a breakfast burrito so today was the day to try Waldens. The staff was friendly. We ordered two breakfast burritos with bacon, adding avocado to them both, and requested the salsa on the side. We waited a while which I consider a good thing, because that means our food is being actually cooked and not just sitting around waiting to be heated up. My name was called and we grabbed our food. The avocado in my burrito was fine, but not in my husband's burrito. It was black and gross and he had to take it off. I have no idea how the cook here thought it would be okay to serve that to us. This could have easily been a 5 star place for us, one star deducted for the black avocado that we paid for and couldn't eat, and one star deducted because the menu online had different prices than the menu in store. read more

Stopped in here for a quick breakfast with my team before the Reno Tahoe Odyssey. It was the perfect pit stop before a big race; the food was delicious and it was healthy bites too so I didn't feel super groggy I was energized and ready to go! I have already reviewed the other 2 Walden's locations and given them 5 stars, so I'm happy to say that this location is no different! This is one of the most solid coffee shops in Reno which says a lot since there are so many excellent options to choose from. This location appears to be in an old house on Arlington, it feels very home-y on the inside and even has cute patio seating out front. I've never done work here before but it seems like an ideal place to come with a laptop to have a productive morning/afternoon. They have plenty of side rooms with lots of quiet seating options. The staff were friendly, my drink was affordable, and my order came out quickly. I got an iced matcha latte with oat milk, the flavor was just right and it was refreshing on a hot day! I did not get any food this time, but I'm a big fan of everything I've tried from Walden's. This location is in a great spot, it is close to both downtown and Midtown. There is limited parking but it is easy to walk here from other nearby streets. I'll continue to support Walden's and look forward to coming back here again in the future! read more
