Stopped by Walden's Coffeehouse on Mayberry and ordered the breakfast burrito. It was really good, flavorful, filling, and you can tell it's made fresh. That said, it was a little pricey (around $15+), and I kind of wish it came with a small side or something extra for that price. Overall though, solid spot with good food and a nice vibe. I'd definitely come back and try more from the menu.
Best pancakes I have had in 20 years!!! Great spot, super friendly.i plan to return when leaving the Burn.
Cozy, convenient, and creative breakfast place. Slightly limited menu, especially with regard to lighter options, but the food they make here is hearty and flavorful. The Smash MacWalden is exceptional--the sausage patty is juicy and tastes homemade in a good way. The prices are decent already but if you plan to come semi-regularly their $120 gift card for $100 is a very good deal. The staff is friendly--they tend to be pretty focused on what they're doing without making a lot of small talk. It can get busy during breakfast and lunch hours, so sometimes there's a line at the register but not too bad. The pastry options are a bit limited, but their biscotti, while pretty jumbo-sized, is actually very good--a bit moist/chewy as opposed to being too dry/crumbly. Their real focus is on egg dishes, which they do very well and, their mixed coffee drinks are solid if not wow-level. I also love that throughout the year they add creative additions options to the menu, such as their pumpkin oatmeal for the fall season.
The employees are really sweet! The pumpkin spice latte wasn't too sweet (personal preference) and if you want something sweeter the pumpkin chai is also great!
We stopped in for breakfast and everything was honestly delicious. We ordered the breakfast burrito and made it "super," the turkey chili prepared gluten-free, and a bagel with cream cheese for the little one. Every dish came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The iced chai tea latte was a surprise favorite...perfectly spiced and really refreshing. The ambiance was trendy and welcoming, and the service matched the vibe. We'll definitely be coming back!
Great area to meet up for coffee and a pastry or bite to eat. Nice area of Reno, VERY limited parking here. I ordered a Schmegal.. bagel with cream cheese, Smokey salmon, tomato, lemon, dill, capers, onion, this was way more than I imagined but for about $18 it was ample. Sadly witnessed an altercation in the parking lot today with a ridiculous customer who felt parking in the single traffic lane was okay, blocking trucks from exiting the lot. Be sure to stay aware, park in the middle area if needed and be courteous to others ! Staff here are kind and MOST who frequent the store are locals from nearby and typically nice folks.
Good place for breakfast. A lot of healthy food and selections. Customer service is good and the place is clean.
Another great visit to Walden's. My husband and I split the burrito (it's gigantic) and enjoyed a chai & pumpkin spice latte. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm morning sun. Though we visit often, and never say thank you enough, we always have an excellent experience from quality of food to quality of service.
Fast friendly and filling. TRIPLE F!!! I love their coffee because I'm a huge DCDS fan. I ordered bags to my house often. This place is dog and kid friendly. I overheard a table put in their order and sat down, and the cashier came out and had to tell them there wasn't any bread left! Thats a bummer for them, but my order was just fine. Love this place.
I went with a group of 4 and two of us received our food decently fast. We had to wait approximately 10-12 minutes longer for our friends to receive their food. By then, my breakfast was pretty cold and didn't taste good. I ordered the chorizo burrito and thought it wasn't anything special. The coffee was terrible. I asked for an iced vanilla latte coffee and they basically poured hot black coffee into a cup with ice and said, wa laaaa. My other friend ordered coffee too and wasn't pleased with his either. It was probably the worst experience I've had from ordering coffee at a restaurant that has a coffee house.
We were walking around the park nearby and Walden's Coffeehouse was around the corner. Got two of their 20 oz mango smoothies ($7.25 each) and a 20 oz iced mocha ($6.50). We enjoyed all three drinks. Service was decent and the vibe in this coffee shop is chill and easy going. It was a nice relaxing rest stop.
The coffee here is excellent; they brew Drink Coffee, Do Stuff. And their paninis are always flavorful and delicious, mostly because of their amazing sauces. And the salads!! They are so fresh and there is always the right amount of dressing. The staff is very nice and seem to like working here even with the crazy busyness of this place. I first contemplated choosing 4 stars instead of 5 as it is always so loud and crowded inside. However, I guess that shows how well-loved this place is so I upped it to 5. :) And although it is always busy and loud, the staff have never gotten an order wrong and the restaurant is always clean.
I hadn't eaten here in years, so I popped in for lunch today with my husband. It was pretty busy, but our order was taken quickly. I had the hamburger special. It was a burger and fries for $10. My husband had a chicken sandwich. The food arrived pretty quickly. Both my burger and fries were piping hot. Additionally, the burger was pretty juicy and had a secret sauce on it. The fries were crispy and nicely done. My husband liked his chicken sandwich and salad. I can't say much about ambience. It's a coffee shop. But it was clean and there were team members walking around cleaning up tables and wiping down chairs. I would definitely go back.
A common start/stop location for Reno's cycling community, I was looking forward to coffee and maybe a snack after our ride. Parking is sufficient but not plentiful and I would say weekends could get congested. Bring your patience. While there is great seating inside, the patio are is the place to be. So cute. I ordered the breakfast burrito with Chorizo. Prepared with egg, potato, cheese and protein of your choosing, the burrito was solid. I do like that they "crispen" the tortilla on a panini grill. Nice. My coffee was nothing special, just black coffee. I will say the flavor was rich and satisfying and not bitter at all. A friend commented that Walden's has the best Cappuccino. I'll let you be the judge of that. Always a treat after a ride. read more
Anytime we are in this area of town, we always try to stop by Walden's Coffeehouse. Such a great local spot with delicious breakfast items, great coffee, and both indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter, get a number, and the food is delivered to your table. I actually really like this concept that has been popping up recently in a lot of hip and popular places around Reno -- casual, easy, and efficient. They also have bakery items, and one of our favorites is the almond bear claw. So good! This time we had the lox toast and avocado toast with bacon. Both choices were absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxed breakfast or coffee spot in Reno. read more

While Walden's Coffeehouse can get pretty busy, the food is well worth the wait and noise. There is an option for outside seating and it is a nice patio area to sit in. I ordered the breakfast burrito with roasted vegetables and it was fantastic. The components, including eggs, potato's, avocado, veggie, were all cooked great and tasted fresh with the salsa provided. The portions are pretty hefty and I went home with the other half of the burrito for leftovers. The panini grill on the tortilla is such a nice touch and adds a yummy crunch. I also got a vanilla chai and it was perfectly spiced and not too hot. Walden's also has many healthy options and everything tastes like it has good quality ingredients. The only downside is it gets a bit noisy inside and it would be nice to have outside heaters. read more
This quaint coffee shop and cafe is bustling from the time they open. We really enjoy the organic lattes. The wait staff is so friendly and welcoming. They have many tables inside. We haven't had any problems finding a seat and we vary the times we go. They make their own hummus and salad dressings. We haven't yet to try the food but whatever we see coming out looks delicious. They also offer a military discount honoring those who have served our country. Kudos to them! read more

Good burrito and sandwich spot with a delicious chai latte! They don't have a lot of vegetarian sandwich options so I got the BLTA with no bacon. Ofcourse, was still charged for the bacon and not offered a substitute like cheese etc.The bread and fruit bowl were super delicious all considered It's conveniently located next to a lot of walks/hikes that we like to do and they are pretty fast about getting you out your order. Good spot to take someone who wants food and coffee but keep in mind not the most veg friendly. read more

If you have been in Reno for a while now... you know about Walden's Coffeehouse. Walden's was my first real coffee shop I went to when I started going to coffeeshops... That was when I was 18 years old and just graduated high school. About 10 years ago. I love Walden's and always will for two things: Their sausage burrito and their vanilla lattes. I LOVE their burritos and if you are in Reno but want real food and coffee, this is the place to go to. My husband got his burrito smothered (which I did not know they do, but they do!) and the burrito was ENORMOUS and quite tasty. With that said, i've seen Walden grow the past couple years since my first time and the crowd every time i go proves how good and popular this coffeeshop has become. I would say getting here the earlier the better as tables fill up fast here, but during the warmer weather, they do have their outdoor seating open. If you want a Reno gem that has been here awhile, I highly recommend checking out Walden's! read more

This was such an amazing service, really really good food and overall super delicious. The proportions are huge and I can barely finish my burrito on top of it. The atmosphere is really energetic and really welcoming even the other guest who come in are really fun and energetic to talk to. It's like one big family. read more
I haven't been here in a bit. Still a very busy place I ordered the mushroom and greens scramble breakfast with fresh fruit and sourdough toast with a vanilla latte My food was good but my friend's breakfast sandwich was just ok read more
My husband and I stopped in to Walden's on a Sunday morning to get some drinks and food to go. We knew we were tight on time so I had tried to order online ahead of time, and I got all the way through adding everything to the cart and trying to check out before it told me that Walden's was no longer accepting online orders. So that was a little frustrating because I had wasted time configuring the whole order for nothing. Undeterred we decided to still go and order inside. When you walk in the space has a very cozy feeling, almost like a farmhouse breakfast room. You can order to go, or you can sit and eat at the tables they have in side. They have a pretty big breakfast menu and I really wanted to try to breakfast burrito, but we since we were short on time we decided to go for something fast and we both ordered bagels with cream cheese. I was pretty surprised that just a plain bagel with cream cheese came out to over $7 which seemed very steep to me in terms of the price. The drinks came out fast with no issues, but our bagels took forever. The first one finally came out, but not the second one. I was surprised there was butter already spread on the bagel even though I hadn't asked for butter. The person who took our order initially noticed us still waiting, and asked if we had gotten the second bagel yet, and when we said no she went to check on it. It was then that she told us she forgot to charge us for the second bagel. We were going to just leave because of the time, but she said they were already making it, so we went and paid for it anyway. A few minutes later the bagel came out and it wasn't even what we ordered. It was a really disappointing experience, and I can't say I would go out of the way to come here again. read more
On a journey to try every coffee place Reno has to offer, I finally stopped in Walden's Coffeehouse! The restaurant itself is so cute and homey and quirky, my boyfriend I definitely felt cozy. We both ordered breakfast burritos and some vanilla lattes. My only suggestion would be to have the coffee menu more visible to where you order, because I bounced back and forth trying to read the coffee menu and order. We picked a table and were brought our food pretty quickly. The burritos were fantastic! I notoriously never finish my food, so half the burrito was enough for me and then I had leftovers for later! The burrito was packed with sausage, eggs, cheese, potatoes, and I added sour cream and avocado to mine. The salsa on the side wasn't too spicy either. I'm a big fan of all of the condiments, fixings, and to-go boxes being self serve, as someone who is always afraid to ask for things We sat right next to the pastry case, so after staring longingly as the pastries for a while, we ordered a warm chocolate chip cookie to split and some apricot turnovers! The chocolate chip cookie was great, and tasted like my mom and dad's homemade ones. The apricot turnovers are patiently waiting in the fridge for us to try, but they smell great! read more
