Super friendly people and delicious lattes to boot!!! The backyard hangout is amazing! There's also a program where you buy $100 gift card and get $20 extra!!!

The employees are really sweet! The pumpkin spice latte wasn't too sweet (personal preference) and if you want something sweeter the pumpkin chai is also great!

Schmegal bagel with all the things and Salmon!

Great area to meet up for coffee and a pastry or bite to eat. Nice area of Reno, VERY limited parking here. I ordered a Schmegal.. bagel with cream cheese, Smokey salmon, tomato, lemon, dill, capers, onion, this was way more than I imagined but for about $18 it was ample. Sadly witnessed an altercation in the parking lot today with a ridiculous customer who felt parking in the single traffic lane was okay, blocking trucks from exiting the lot. Be sure to stay aware, park in the middle area if needed and be courteous to others ! Staff here are kind and MOST who frequent the store are locals from nearby and typically nice folks.

Special fall item--there's always something creative on the menu.

Cozy, convenient, and creative breakfast place. Slightly limited menu, especially with regard to lighter options, but the food they make here is hearty and flavorful. The Smash MacWalden is exceptional--the sausage patty is juicy and tastes homemade in a good way. The prices are decent already but if you plan to come semi-regularly their $120 gift card for $100 is a very good deal. The staff is friendly--they tend to be pretty focused on what they're doing without making a lot of small talk. It can get busy during breakfast and lunch hours, so sometimes there's a line at the register but not too bad. The pastry options are a bit limited, but their biscotti, while pretty jumbo-sized, is actually very good--a bit moist/chewy as opposed to being too dry/crumbly. Their real focus is on egg dishes, which they do very well and, their mixed coffee drinks are solid if not wow-level. I also love that throughout the year they add creative additions options to the menu, such as their pumpkin oatmeal for the fall season.

We stopped in for breakfast and everything was honestly delicious. We ordered the breakfast burrito and made it "super," the turkey chili prepared gluten-free, and a bagel with cream cheese for the little one. Every dish came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The iced chai tea latte was a surprise favorite...perfectly spiced and really refreshing. The ambiance was trendy and welcoming, and the service matched the vibe. We'll definitely be coming back!

Another great visit to Walden's. My husband and I split the burrito (it's gigantic) and enjoyed a chai & pumpkin spice latte. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm morning sun. Though we visit often, and never say thank you enough, we always have an excellent experience from quality of food to quality of service.

Fast friendly and filling. TRIPLE F!!! I love their coffee because I'm a huge DCDS fan. I ordered bags to my house often. This place is dog and kid friendly. I overheard a table put in their order and sat down, and the cashier came out and had to tell them there wasn't any bread left! Thats a bummer for them, but my order was just fine. Love this place.

    Chorizo Breakfast Burrito
    Kyle S.

I went with a group of 4 and two of us received our food decently fast. We had to wait approximately 10-12 minutes longer for our friends to receive their food. By then, my breakfast was pretty cold and didn't taste good. I ordered the chorizo burrito and thought it wasn't anything special. The coffee was terrible. I asked for an iced vanilla latte coffee and they basically poured hot black coffee into a cup with ice and said, wa laaaa. My other friend ordered coffee too and wasn't pleased with his either. It was probably the worst experience I've had from ordering coffee at a restaurant that has a coffee house.

    Melody K.

We were walking around the park nearby and Walden's Coffeehouse was around the corner. Got two of their 20 oz mango smoothies ($7.25 each) and a 20 oz iced mocha ($6.50). We enjoyed all three drinks. Service was decent and the vibe in this coffee shop is chill and easy going. It was a nice relaxing rest stop.

The coffee here is excellent; they brew Drink Coffee, Do Stuff. And their paninis are always flavorful and delicious, mostly because of their amazing sauces. And the salads!! They are so fresh and there is always the right amount of dressing. The staff is very nice and seem to like working here even with the crazy busyness of this place. I first contemplated choosing 4 stars instead of 5 as it is always so loud and crowded inside. However, I guess that shows how well-loved this place is so I upped it to 5. :) And although it is always busy and loud, the staff have never gotten an order wrong and the restaurant is always clean.

    Hamburger and french fries special
    Rob B.

I hadn't eaten here in years, so I popped in for lunch today with my husband. It was pretty busy, but our order was taken quickly. I had the hamburger special. It was a burger and fries for $10. My husband had a chicken sandwich. The food arrived pretty quickly. Both my burger and fries were piping hot. Additionally, the burger was pretty juicy and had a secret sauce on it. The fries were crispy and nicely done. My husband liked his chicken sandwich and salad. I can't say much about ambience. It's a coffee shop. But it was clean and there were team members walking around cleaning up tables and wiping down chairs. I would definitely go back.

    Breakfast burrito
    Kacey T.

While Walden's Coffeehouse can get pretty busy, the food is well worth the wait and noise. There is an option for outside seating and it is a nice patio area to sit in. I ordered the breakfast burrito with roasted vegetables and it was fantastic. The components, including eggs, potato's, avocado, veggie, were all cooked great and tasted fresh with the salsa provided. The portions are pretty hefty and I went home with the other half of the burrito for leftovers. The panini grill on the tortilla is such a nice touch and adds a yummy crunch. I also got a vanilla chai and it was perfectly spiced and not too hot. Walden's also has many healthy options and everything tastes like it has good quality ingredients. The only downside is it gets a bit noisy inside and it would be nice to have outside heaters.

I had the grinder sandwich and ate every single bite because it was so delicious. The crack and crumble of the bread was like a banh mi sandwich but filled with Italian ingredients. The only downside is their space is a bit tight for the amount of business they bring in and timing is essential to enjoy your experience here if you can grab a seat at the right time. We definitely added them back to our regular list of places to visit for our bakery needs on the mornings and weekend brunch.

Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I can't recommend this place enough. Special shout out to David, our server. This guy made no mistakes. Laughed at all my stupid dad jokes, was attentive, patient while my companions changed their minds 36 times, and was friendly too. Says it was only his 2nd day on the job, but I wish he had been working for us at our restaurant (Hokkaido Noodle House) in Sacramento. He is a pro already, give him reasons to keep working for you boss. Don't worry, we won't steal him from you, we are retired and closed our joint 10 years ago. Rock on Archie's! Was surprised it had a second floor with a small deck and pretty decent views! Big place. Great Happy Hour Deals (half off drinks) and other specials. I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

Treated myself to a slow morning and took a short, pleasurable ramble over to Pine State from the Renaissance. Pine State hails from Oregon originally, and the space feels like Portland or NorCal transported to Nevada. Cool, hip and funky. I was excited to have a chance to try the Veggie Reggie, being a vegetarian, biscuits and gravy a usually off limits for me. This one features a vegan breakfast patty, soy bacon, and Tillamook cheddar topped with shiitake mushroom gravy - so it was on! The Reggie came out quickly and looked amazing! Huge and oh-so decadent. I got there right at opening and I think the staff were still getting into the swing of the day, because my gravy was pretty cold, which was a disappointment - and probably muted the flavor a bit. I also appreciated the early am fine cup of coffee.

She barely let me speak, she interrupted, wasn't answering my actual question about what kind of toaster they used and what grill the bread is heated on, etc because she wanted to repeat the existence of cross contact. Good lord. I was one second away from walking out. She was a really piece of work. She then upped the "nice" factor to call me sweetie the rest of the meal which makes me want to crawl out of my skin. Honestly, I am very flexible, I think this place may be better than my first impression but this server needs to be retrained to LISTEN to the customer and answer questions and not just make it an effort to drive people out. This is a few minutes of her time, and I have to live my entire life like this without treatment until I die, so a little kindness and active listening is really a minimal effort for a few minutes every now and then. 3 stars is generous. Very well cooked, perfectly tender, and the Calabrian chili oil was perfect for adding some spice. We then ordered entrees, which included the duck duo and a Caesar salad. The Caesar is nothing to write home about. It's fresh and from scratch, but it's just a Caesar. The duck duo came with both duck confit and duck breast. The duck confit was unreal.
