Schmegal bagel with all the things and Salmon!
    Amy R.

Great area to meet up for coffee and a pastry or bite to eat. Nice area of Reno, VERY limited parking here. I ordered a Schmegal.. bagel with cream cheese, Smokey salmon, tomato, lemon, dill, capers, onion, this was way more than I imagined but for about $18 it was ample. Sadly witnessed an altercation in the parking lot today with a ridiculous customer who felt parking in the single traffic lane was okay, blocking trucks from exiting the lot. Be sure to stay aware, park in the middle area if needed and be courteous to others ! Staff here are kind and MOST who frequent the store are locals from nearby and typically nice folks.

I come here at least 5 times a month, and always bring my friends. Today I sat outside on the back patio table and almost fell over because the bench is unsafe. When my friend came back with mimosas for us mine fell over when she stood up because of how unstable the table is. We politely let the girls inside know and they just said okay and didn't care to make things right. Each visit we spend over 100$ with drinks and food and to not be given a new drink was highly disappointing an inappropriate considering the table being unstable is the reason the drink fell over.

Special fall item--there's always something creative on the menu.

Cozy, convenient, and creative breakfast place. Slightly limited menu, especially with regard to lighter options, but the food they make here is hearty and flavorful. The Smash MacWalden is exceptional--the sausage patty is juicy and tastes homemade in a good way. The prices are decent already but if you plan to come semi-regularly their $120 gift card for $100 is a very good deal. The staff is friendly--they tend to be pretty focused on what they're doing without making a lot of small talk. It can get busy during breakfast and lunch hours, so sometimes there's a line at the register but not too bad. The pastry options are a bit limited, but their biscotti, while pretty jumbo-sized, is actually very good--a bit moist/chewy as opposed to being too dry/crumbly. Their real focus is on egg dishes, which they do very well and, their mixed coffee drinks are solid if not wow-level. I also love that throughout the year they add creative additions options to the menu, such as their pumpkin oatmeal for the fall season.

We stopped in for breakfast and everything was honestly delicious. We ordered the breakfast burrito and made it "super," the turkey chili prepared gluten-free, and a bagel with cream cheese for the little one. Every dish came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The iced chai tea latte was a surprise favorite...perfectly spiced and really refreshing. The ambiance was trendy and welcoming, and the service matched the vibe. We'll definitely be coming back!

Good place for breakfast. A lot of healthy food and selections. Customer service is good and the place is clean.

Another great visit to Walden's. My husband and I split the burrito (it's gigantic) and enjoyed a chai & pumpkin spice latte. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm morning sun. Though we visit often, and never say thank you enough, we always have an excellent experience from quality of food to quality of service.

Fast friendly and filling. TRIPLE F!!! I love their coffee because I'm a huge DCDS fan. I ordered bags to my house often. This place is dog and kid friendly. I overheard a table put in their order and sat down, and the cashier came out and had to tell them there wasn't any bread left! Thats a bummer for them, but my order was just fine. Love this place.

    Chorizo Breakfast Burrito
    Kyle S.

I went with a group of 4 and two of us received our food decently fast. We had to wait approximately 10-12 minutes longer for our friends to receive their food. By then, my breakfast was pretty cold and didn't taste good. I ordered the chorizo burrito and thought it wasn't anything special. The coffee was terrible. I asked for an iced vanilla latte coffee and they basically poured hot black coffee into a cup with ice and said, wa laaaa. My other friend ordered coffee too and wasn't pleased with his either. It was probably the worst experience I've had from ordering coffee at a restaurant that has a coffee house.

We were walking around the park nearby and Walden's Coffeehouse was around the corner. Got two of their 20 oz mango smoothies ($7.25 each) and a 20 oz iced mocha ($6.50). We enjoyed all three drinks. Service was decent and the vibe in this coffee shop is chill and easy going. It was a nice relaxing rest stop.

    Chanini Panini style Sandwiches
    Rachel Z.

The coffee here is excellent; they brew Drink Coffee, Do Stuff. And their paninis are always flavorful and delicious, mostly because of their amazing sauces. And the salads!! They are so fresh and there is always the right amount of dressing. The staff is very nice and seem to like working here even with the crazy busyness of this place. I first contemplated choosing 4 stars instead of 5 as it is always so loud and crowded inside. However, I guess that shows how well-loved this place is so I upped it to 5. :) And although it is always busy and loud, the staff have never gotten an order wrong and the restaurant is always clean.

    Hamburger and french fries special
    Rob B.

I hadn't eaten here in years, so I popped in for lunch today with my husband. It was pretty busy, but our order was taken quickly. I had the hamburger special. It was a burger and fries for $10. My husband had a chicken sandwich. The food arrived pretty quickly. Both my burger and fries were piping hot. Additionally, the burger was pretty juicy and had a secret sauce on it. The fries were crispy and nicely done. My husband liked his chicken sandwich and salad. I can't say much about ambience. It's a coffee shop. But it was clean and there were team members walking around cleaning up tables and wiping down chairs. I would definitely go back.

    Breakfast burrito

While Walden's Coffeehouse can get pretty busy, the food is well worth the wait and noise. There is an option for outside seating and it is a nice patio area to sit in. I ordered the breakfast burrito with roasted vegetables and it was fantastic. The components, including eggs, potato's, avocado, veggie, were all cooked great and tasted fresh with the salsa provided. The portions are pretty hefty and I went home with the other half of the burrito for leftovers. The panini grill on the tortilla is such a nice touch and adds a yummy crunch. I also got a vanilla chai and it was perfectly spiced and not too hot. Walden's also has many healthy options and everything tastes like it has good quality ingredients. The only downside is it gets a bit noisy inside and it would be nice to have outside heaters.

This quaint coffee shop and cafe is bustling from the time they open. We really enjoy the organic lattes. The wait staff is so friendly and welcoming. They have many tables inside. We haven't had any problems finding a seat and we vary the times we go. They make their own hummus and salad dressings. We haven't yet to try the food but whatever we see coming out looks delicious. They also offer a military discount honoring those who have served our country. Kudos to them!

Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I can't recommend this place enough. Special shout out to David, our server. This guy made no mistakes. Laughed at all my stupid dad jokes, was attentive, patient while my companions changed their minds 36 times, and was friendly too. Says it was only his 2nd day on the job, but I wish he had been working for us at our restaurant (Hokkaido Noodle House) in Sacramento. He is a pro already, give him reasons to keep working for you boss. Don't worry, we won't steal him from you, we are retired and closed our joint 10 years ago. Rock on Archie's! Was surprised it had a second floor with a small deck and pretty decent views! Big place. Great Happy Hour Deals (half off drinks) and other specials. I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

When we arrived, every table was full, so we grabbed seats at the bar. It turned out to be a great spot to watch the bartenders create beautiful drinks, including some of their signature cocktails served in a glass purse for parties of two or more. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with groups celebrating birthdays and other special occasions. After looking over the menu, we decided on the lox crostini bites and the bruschetta. We each ordered a glass of sparkling wine. I added a chocolate rim to mine, which was fun to look at, although it didn't add much flavor. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed watching the flowing chocolate waterfall. Considering how busy the bar was, our food arrived quickly. The crostini were crisp, and both appetizers were fresh and flavorful. The only drawback was the volume of the DJ, but we knew what to expect as soon as we walked through the door. This is definitely a fun place for parties and groups looking for a lively night out. One last observation: I probably wouldn't choose this spot for a group of men. The décor and overall vibe are very much geared toward women, but the name says it all.

I tried the McIsley (fried chicken, dill pickles, ground mustard, honey) and nearly passed out from pure bliss. The biscuit is golden brown on the outside while warm and pillowy within. You'll need a fork and knife, but the menagerie of sweet and savory building blocks will come together any which way you deconstruct it. My wife tried The Chatfield (fried chicken, cheddar, bacon, apple butter) and was equally content. The Oregon Marionberry jam was a tart yet sweet customized side, and I much enjoyed the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese to round off the plate. The breading is evenly blasted with seasoning and the tomatoes themselves are plump but not the least bit soggy. Without a doubt though, the service was unmatched. They handled a line going out the front door with class, getting us tables before we even ordered to remove the burden of seat searching and our food getting cold.
