First time visiting here, and wow -- it was incredibly busy for a Saturday night at 10 PM. I've been to the other Flowing Tide location in Sparks, which felt a bit more spacious in the main dining area. This location definitely had a different atmosphere. The main bar area felt very crowded and energetic, while the overflow section was much quieter and empty in comparison, making the layout feel a little disjointed during peak hours. That said, Cherri absolutely made the experience enjoyable. Despite nearly every table being filled, she provided fast, friendly, and attentive service the entire time. She consistently checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed, which is impressive considering how busy it was. She also let us know about the late-night happy hour specials, which had great prices -- unfortunately we had already eaten, otherwise we definitely would've taken advantage of them. If you're planning to visit, I'd personally recommend going a little earlier in the evening before the late-night rush or even after midnight since they're open 24 hours. We happened to arrive during what felt like peak late-night hours, but the staff would probably know the best times to avoid the crowd. Overall, thank you again to Cherri for the great service! Excellent service every time we come in! Makia, who works the weekend late nights, is amazing. We came in twice late at night and she already remembered our orders the next time we showed up--such great customer service and attention to detail. The Hangover is hands-down the best breakfast in Reno, especially for the price. It comes out sizzling hot, and the soft, fresh biscuits are absolutely incredible. We also tried the bourbon burger, which was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. If you're looking for a great late-night spot, don't hesitate to stop by. Casey was an awesome bartender, looking forward to visiting her again next time we're in the area. She has a great personality and is very helpful. Service was fast and friendly. We missed out on their great happy hour but there were football specials so keep an eye out for those. Chicken tenders and chicken tacos were both solid choices for grub. This Tide has a smoking side and a non-smoking side so be aware of where you are sitting as sometimes the smoke can get pretty bad if that side is crowded with smokers. They have a bunch of TVs and an area with 2 pool tables and more TVs. read more

I always love going to FTP for their excellent pub food. I went with my sister today on our lunch break and we split the chicken Caesar Chicken Wrap with Tider Tots and Chicken Tenders with Fries. It was our first time trying the tots and they were delicious. They toss them in garlic oil and melt cheese on them. YUM. Next time I'll ask for them to be cooked a little longer since I prefer crunchy tots, but no complaints here on the taste. Their fries are my favorite in town; beer battered, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their tenders were crunchy without losing moisture. And they weren't greasy feeling to the touch, which made me feel better about all the fried food ;) And the wrap was so refreshing. The ingredients were very well balanced; I got to taste every part of the wrap in every bite. And the dressing was the perfect amount. I feel that at other places it usually pours out of the wrap and makes a giant mess, but not here. There was one server for the entire medium-sized room, which is normal for this setting, and she was very attentive and quick to serve us. I also liked to see that their bathrooms are accessible as they have everything at standing height and sitting height, even dual handles on the bathroom door. Will certainly be going again when I need some good old fashioned pub fare :) read more

This Was our go to place for fish and chips, but today we were sorely disappointed. The fish was very greasy and looked like it had been fried twice. The fish inside was dry, and pretty tasteless. Not to mention the portion was maybe 2 1/2 pieces instead of the usual four nice size pieces. And once again, with raising prices, there's no excuse for this. The fries were raw, greasy and limp. This was a take out order so I popped the fries into my air fryer to get them warm and a bit crispy. Not great,but we did eat some. Poor showing today. We will definitely find a new restaurant for fish n chips. A McDonald's fillet of fish seemed appealing after this experience. read more

Another delicious happy hour at flowing tide. This time we went to flowing Tide number five which is on South McCarran and 4th Street in West reno. The place was not very busy as it was 5:00 on a Sunday evening. It did fill up more as the night progressed. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken. They of course are always good and at a great price. We ordered three of the happy hour appetizers. The mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and the chicken nachos which is their best appetizer in my opinion. It's called a half order but it is huge and more than enough for three or four people to share. We also had an Asian chicken salad. Service was great. we were left alone to talk and enjoy our food and drinks. We left full and happy and of course we'll be back as this is one of my favorite places in town at any location. read more

The fish in my fish and chips was a little hard, but the ranch and tartar sauce dips were good, and the fries were passable. My margarita was a bit weak and very sweet. Our waitress was friendly and working hard all night. We sat in the non-smoking family section but could still smell smoke. We really enjoyed our lunch here last week. This is the type of place where everybody will know your name after a couple of visits. No complaints about the food, tide burger, and Caesar chicken wrap, but it is a smoking bar/restaurant. What I particularly enjoyed was playing electronic blackjack while drinking a free glass of La Creama. And these machines let you split and double down. You won't find that at Boom Town. Called in an order of wings and accidentally reached this location instead of the one by Save Mart. Walked in and identified that I had a call in order. Bartender acknowledged me and my order. I stood there for about five minutes and asked another bartender if I was in the right place to pick up my order? She assured me I was. After about 15 minutes they brought out my order. I asked if they had substituted Blue Cheese for the Ranch as requested when ordering? No, they offered to get me Blue Cheese. When I got home and dived into my wings they were not at all like the wings I get at the Flowing Tide on 7th and N. McCarren. Anyway, while I was waiting in the restaurant for a call in order, my husband was waiting in the car for me! Not sure if we will return. I really felt like an afterthought to the staff. read more

The apple Gorgonzola salad is delicious, sometimes I get it as a wrap, other times just on its own. Tonight I tried it with the steak, it was good, but I'd probably go with chicken next time. Flowing tide is always a solid choice any day of the week , they have a happy hour that runs twice a day and includes seven dollar appetizers. I got the chicken tacos which is a pretty balanced meal for bar food. It's fresh grilled chicken with an neat chipotle type of sauce. Everything cooked here is delicious I especially love the steak sandwich. a whole New York steak on a piece of bread for less than $20. Say less. we came in today it was not too busy. Our server was kind and courteous. They do allow smoking in the establishment if that's your kind of thing. My friends are wings. She asked them to keep the sauce on the side and they were really good about letting her customize the order. I've been going to flowing Tide since I was a kid every location in town is great. We have been to several of the other Flowing Tide pubs and have always enjoyed them. They have really good happy hour specials. We had not been to this one until now. We arrived about 4:30pm, their happy hour is from 2pm to 6pm and 10pm to midnight, 7 days a week. This is the first Flowing Tide we have been to that has a smoking area but thankfully there is also a non-smoking area. We are not smokers and try to stay away from it. The bar area here allows smoking. When you walk in, the bar area is to the right and the dining area is on the left. We had a seat in the dining area. Other than that, everthing feels really similar to the others. We usually sit at the counter and play some slots but not here. It was not very busy, there may have been about 6 people in the smoking bar area and maybe another 6 in the non smoking dining area. Every time we go to one of the other Flowing Tides on a a weekend during happy hour between 4pm and 6pm, they are always packed, so we were surprised and can only think it is related to the smoking. We were greeted by Bonnie and placed our orders. The menu feels pretty consistent among the Flowing Tides. As usual my wife ordered the happy hour nachos and I chose the cheese steak from the regular menu. Our meals were delivered timely and looked really tasty. Everything tasted great as well. The food was 5 stars as expected, the service was good as well. But, the smoking really turned us off. We will likely go to one of the other Flowing Tides after this experience. Love this place, as a bartender in north Reno having a place togo after a late night shift and unwind is a true blessing. A place to grab some great pasta or seafood, a good selection of both domestic or craft beer, and the awesome and friendly staff that keeps me coming back! It can get busy on the weekends but the large space makes sure there is always somewhere to sit or one will open up in a reasonable amount of time. Both a smoking and non-smoking side, make it friendly for all lots of folk. Pool tables, electronic darts, acrade, gaming, jukebox and all the typical balderdash make it a good time for everyone. Heather J, KC, Kepler, Will, Terra, Ana, David, Smoke and Cassie are stupendous and create a serendipitously fun environment each time I get the opportunity to roll into the "Low" Tide. Full menu all day and night, for the early birds and night owls alike! My only wish is a chicken parmesan pasta as a menu option, but great food and happy hour specials. read more
