I eat too much here, by the looks of all my pics. But the food is great coffee shop food and today did not disappoint with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and vegetables. I do like the service here and all of tje staff are friendly. Great coffee shop feel.

Located in the Tamarack Junction casino, this cafe is a busy diner attracting a faithful crowd of locals. Service team from host to waitstaff are all friendly which gives this diner a very relaxed feel. Clean, not smoke filled, with a no-frills home cooked meal. The burger was good and just the way you would make it at home.

Food was hot the staff was friendly and you get a great meal at the best prices in town. It was nice and warm and they were playing great music. I ate everything thats how good the food was today!

I came here with my grandparents for a nice dinner after a Long day. The atmosphere was very cozy, but it also had a strange "tearing wall" decoration design that, while I'm sure tickles some people's fancy, does look rather off to me. Our waitress was good. She was knowledgeable about the menu, immediately gave recommendations on the day's special, and was patient and helpful! I ordered simple tonight, just chicken tenders and fries. The fries were crunchy, well seasoned, and very tasty! The tenders were delicious, very crunchy, and nice and warm! Very delicious! Overall, this was a very pleasant experience. I don't often enjoy casino diners as, well, I have to go through the casino first, but this one was quite nice! Definitely recommend this place, especially to people who don't mind going through the casino first!

Back in 2021 when the DC Cafe at the Tamarack Casino first opened, I gave them a bad, one star review. Now in November 2024, I have to say the place has improved considerably. I live about 5 minutes away from the Tamarack, so I go there often. My favorite side of the DC Cafe is the Sport's Bar. It is cozy, it has plenty of large screen TVs and offers great customer service. The menu has been expanded with many great food choices at very reasonable prices. If you like domestic beers and wine like I do, you can find them here for $4, $5 dollars. I highly recommend the place for a good meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and/or sports watching.

Very good food and great menu.. the price is good here.. these fish tacos were tasty and most of the menu is as well.

Great as always.. Quick and friendly service.. Great food for a great price.. I love coming in for breakfast or lunch on the weekends. It can get busy and can have a little wait but it's never really bad..

Sometimes you just want to stay in your neighborhood and go to your neighborhood Casino. That is Tamarack for us and we are so fortunate to have it so close to home. We love to sit at the tables next to the bar. The booths are huge and cozy. We can also order food from the DC Cafe, while we watch sports on the various TV monitors. The food here is pretty good for the price. Today I had the Chicken Parmesan for 12.99. The menu has a good variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

The DC Cafe in the Tamarack Junction Casino in South Reno is a wonderful restaurant for its delicious food and great prices. Thank you to Blake our Outstanding Server. Your wonderful personality and great serving skills made it a fabulous dining experience for myself and my Mom. I also met a nice girl just sitting across from us. We are now friends. We both thought Blake's service was off the chart excellent. I bet people meet each other often at this friendly Cafe. Julie A

Working up in Truckee, I am always interacting with a lot of international students. There was a group of girls from malaysia in town, and I brought them to Reno for a casino/an expensive meal. I love DC café because they have a lot of $6.99 and $7.99 specials. And quite a few dinners under $10. We arrived near closing, however they have a policy of seating up to the last minute lol. We took two of the half booth half tables and I ordered my usual Cadillac margarita. Matt was our waiter. He's always an awesome guy. What we ordered: Cadillac margarita 4x pork medallions with mashed potatoes and vegetables Grilled salmon Tried to order chili Verde but they were out of it Chicken enchiladas Chicken burrito Chicken fried steak and eggs over easy The food arrived promptly. The girls enjoyed the dinner so much, there was not a crumb or speck of food left on the plates lol. They have been in the US for about two months and mostly been eating as cheap as possible, which is difficult to do in Truckee. so they really enjoyed a home-cooked meal even if it was American style. Really enjoyed the meal. The service was great. The prices are great. We will definitely be back.

It's been a long time eating breakfast here.. Not too many customers, so service should be good... Wrong.. it's been almost 30 min.. and still waiting for my California omelette and the hubby's All American... Finally arrived, and thinking it would be hot, my omelette was warm..and the same for the All American.. Unfortunately, I asked for an egg white omelette- and it was uncooked.. so I had to send it back-.. I guess, probably best to eat lunch or dinner..

The DC cafe at the Tamarack never disappoints. I stopped in for a burger and a beer. my waitress, Britney, was attentive and quick. I had a Sierra Nevada Pale ale and a bacon and avocado cheeseburger. The restaurant is clean and the staff was very friendly.

The western bacon cheeseburger is one of the best in town, consistently delicious and always hits the spot. The wings are another standout: perfectly crisp, flavorful, and done right every time. The service is always top notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome every visit. We especially love sitting upstairs....it's where we used to hang out when we first met, so it brings back a lot of great memories. It's more than just a restaurant for us, it's part of our story. Consistently great food, excellent service, and a place that feels like home. We'll keep coming back.

There are two levels to the restaurant, and we dined on the second floor. The upstairs dining area has a sports bar feel with plenty of TVs to catch a game, and Wolf Pack memorabilia throughout, which fits the location perfectly. The service was efficient and friendly. Our server checked on us the right amount and our food came out quickly. We ordered the Giant Hamburger and the BLT. The burger was thick, juicy, and piled high with classic toppings, messy in the best way and full of flavor. The BLT was generously stacked with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomato on toasted bread, simple and satisfying. The only downsides were the fries and my drink. The fries were overcooked, dry, and a bit too tough. I ordered a vodka soda, and it tasted more like soda with a splash of vodka. Overall, it was a good experience and we would return.

The biscuits are definitely the best part of the dish, they were soft, moist and chewy. They were so delicious I offered some to our entire table so everyone could try them. Husband had the blueberry pancakes. The portions here are generous! Be sure to order first, and then grab a table. Food comes out quickly and service was great. The facility was clean and welcoming, and the person at the register was genuinely friendly and helpful. I also loved the vibe--there's some really cool swag and decor on the walls that adds character to the space. Bonus points for having a solid selection of hot sauces available. Food-wise, there were some real highlights. The cinnamon roll with bourbon glaze was super yummy--honestly, it didn't even need frosting. I also tried the blueberry lemon cornmeal pancakes, which were excellent. I grabbed a peanut butter & jelly pop tart for later; the flavor was good, but the crust was a bit too chewy for my taste. I was hoping for more crunch and a stronger peanut butter flavor. For the mains, I had The Reggie Deluxe. It was good, but the gravy was surprisingly skimpy, which was a bit of a letdown. A biscuit dish like that should be absolutely smothered in gravy. We also tried the brisket biscuit--it was good, but not particularly memorable. The biggest disappointment, though, was the biscuits themselves. They were just okay and lacked flavor--like they needed more salt or butter. I couldn't help but compare them to biscuits I remember from places like KFC years ago or even Knott's Berry Farm--those had a richness and flavor that these didn't quite match. All in all, it was still a great experience. Friendly staff, clean space, and good food overall--just a few tweaks away from being truly outstanding.

It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The service was great, food was yummy and we definitely look forward to going back again soon!

My son-in-law invited us to try a new place for happy hour…read more We ordered every item on the happy hour menu. The cauliflower was one of my favorites, roasted perfectly with great flavor, Fondue was creamy, hot and delicious, meatballs were super moist and bursting with flavor. The olives were dry and tiny and hard to enjoy due to pit. The backpack was ok but not great. Now, the pizza! It was absolutely perfect. Thin crust, perfect amount of cheese and toppings. I enjoyed the bee sting pizza, hot and sweet, and I love the combination. When I go back it will definitely be pizza, salad and cauliflower. The sever was a sweet young man. He was attentive to our needs and patient with all our questions. The restaurant is a good size, the bar area was busy and filled with conversation and laughter, the booths looked cozy, we chose a table near windows for outside lighting. The outside tables looked great for getting some warmth and fresh air. Many options and different settings. Sorry, I forgot to take pics.

I absolutely loved the White Linen -- and that's saying a lot because I'm usually not much of a gin drinker. Tonight I also tried the Blueberry Lemon Drop. I tend to like more of a tart citrus flavor, so it wasn't exactly the tartness I expected at first; however, once I ate the blueberry garnish and took another sip, it completely changed the drink for me and tasted much better. I also tried two of their specials -- the Salmon with Alfredo sauce and the Tenderloin sliders. Again, Alfredo normally isn't my thing, but the Salmon was cooked beautifully and the sauce was very enjoyable, especially since they accommodated my request for a lighter amount. Since I couldn't decide between dishes, I ordered the tenderloin sliders to-go as well... and they were delicious too! Our server Miguel was new and did a really good job. You could tell he was just a little nervous, but he was attentive, kind, and handled himself well. Everyone starts somewhere, and I wanted him to know he's doing a great job and will only continue getting better with experience. Another solid visit overall. It was also nice seeing GM Drew working the restaurant floor as usual. You can absolutely see his management style reflected in the atmosphere and service -- the restaurant was busy, yet the team handled everything smoothly. The menu has a variety of dishes and it was really delicious and well-prepared. The bus-persons and food runners were great: friendly and attentive. Cons: the cashier, our waitress and the manager lack initiative. Our server disappeared at the end of the meal; meanwhile, we had a starring contest with the cashier who I guess couldn't leave her station to drop off the check or ring us up, so we had to walk-up to the hostess to ask for the check, to which we were directed to the manager who then dropped off a copy of the receipt after about 20 minutes but didn't bother ringing it up. Instead, she strolled out to the casino floor with another woman and had a long, languid conversation. After about an hour, we flagged her back down and told her we were ready to pay the bill, she then directed us to the bar where the cashier was. So in summary: food was good, some of the service was good but overall service could use some improvement.
