Cheeseburger with bacon and Avocado
Connie H.

My first thought walking in was that the entry had not been cleaned in several days. I mentioned it to the hostess and she said she would get right on it. It was still filthy when we left. The food was plentiful and tasty. I had the New Orleans and my husband had the shrimp PoBoy. Alyssa was our server. She was super busy but did a good job being attentive to everyone. My husband said the men's bathroom was filthy. He did bring this to the attention of the host. This is a reflection also on the customers. There's no excuse. Even though the food was good, I'm not sure if I would go back.

California Benedict

My first time here. It wasn't busy at all and it took a long time to get our food. Luckily we were not in a hurry. I had the unlimited soup salad and garlic sourdough. The gumbo and chili were good. The garlic sourdough was disappointing. Not much flavor. The salad was ok. The blue cheese dressing was kinda blah. Vinaigrette was better. We ordered the fried green tomatoes. The batter was great & they looked awesome but the flavor was disappointing compared to homemade. But flavor is always subjective so my saying I was disappointed in flavors might not translate to a universal opinion. The California Benedict is served on a fried green tomato instead of a muffin. We ordered the onions in the potatoes to be WELL caramelized and the cook did a SPECTACULAR job of that. I would come again for these caramelized onions! The fact that the cook got this perfect is encouraging...if you like things prepared a special way you might find it here. The atmosphere is great. Very cute. People were very friendly. The Mississippi Skillet

We came here for breakfast one morning around 8am after dropping our car off at Big O Tires. It wasn't busy, but it took about 5 mins to be seated. I was just waiting at the counter for someone to acknowledge me. Once seated, our server was extremely kind and accommodating. We shared the Mississippi skillet. Definitely a good size portion to where it felt like a full meal for both of us. It was served with a blueberry muffin. The skillet was great. Nice flavors and had all the meats and veggies I wanted ! The muffin was a bit too dry and flaky for me.

Southern Swirl French Toast Breakfast

My wife came here about a week ago with her mother and really loved the Southern Swirl French Toast she had. Finding ourselves in south Reno again today, she took me there for breakfast. Having lived in the South Eastern area of the United States for many years in northern Florida, I was very familiar with and fond of Cajun cuisine! I sided with the Cajun omelette this morning and asked for shrimp and extra Monterey Jack cheese to be added. They forgot both... but the omelette was quite tasty as served. Our server was very nice and was apologetic about the oversight. Not really his fault so I just rolled with it. The interior is decorated with southern style cracker house fixtures and old-time paraphernalia giving it a Louisianan feel. I would eat here again and most-likely will if I can pull myself away from Great Full Gardens every once in a while...!

Stopped in for a quick bite. Enjoyed a few breakfast dishes. It wasn't crowded so seating was fast. Our server really explained dishes on the menu. She was very engaging. The biscuits were so light and fluffy. I went with the steak and eggs. It was just ok. Would love to come back just to try different options on the menu.

I came for breakfast, was greeted with a Gator at the door, and a friendly host. Promptly seated, no lines, orders were taken, food arrived with in 6 minutes or so, it's rather quick, i'm surprised how fast the food came out. We ordered the Mississippi and New Orlean with huckleberry muffin, strawberry lemonade and huckleberry tea served in mason jar. The portion is decent, they could have used less starch (potatoes) in my opinion. It's heavy on potatoes. Oppose to ham, bacon, bell pepper, onion and mushroom, I feel they made the potatoes the star of the dish, instead of nice balanced portion. My friend plate the New Orleans, ( sausage. Shrimp, mushroom, ) contains more proteins than the potato. She enjoyed her dish then I did. The huckleberry muffin is warm and moist and delicious. For the food, I give it 3 stars rating, if they take it easy on the potatoes, and given me more protein ( bell peppers, mushroom, and ham) Over all service my waitress is pleasant and keeps checking on us.

Mardi Gras Beignets

Awesome customer service. Super awesome host that seated us was super sweet. Beignet were ok. Nothing spectacular. But again overall decent food. Very warm atmosphere, this is a good place for pastries and coffee and relax.

Delicious, large portions for breakfast. I had chicken fried steak, potatoes, and eggs. It lasted me 3 days! So good. Nicely battered and fried. Potatoes had bell peppers and onions. My son had crab cakes Benedict and dad had an omelet. Service was a tad slow. They may have needed an extra server. Restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and our server was very nice.

Hucks breakfast burrito

After church, my friends and family visited Huckleberry's. Despite it being busy they sat us right away at a cozy table in the back. The restaurant has a Southern Bayou vibe that serves breakfast and lunch. Although we had to wait a half an hour for our food, it was worth the wait. I ordered the Hucks breakfast burrito. It was loaded with eggs, onions, peppers, bacon and hash browns with a salsa. I ordered my burrito with out cheese. It was filled with a lot of southern flavor and was very filling. Overall, we had a great time catching up over a hearty meal!

I stopped in for a quick breakfast and had the huckleberry crepes. The food was delicious, came out quickly and my server, Tori, was friendly and efficient! It was quiet and the dividers on the booths gave it a cozy feeling. My first experience wasn't impressive so I'm glad I gave it another try!

Not sure what makes these "French Quarter" French Toasts. Looks like regular sandwhich bread to me - At Huckleberry's.

I had been here once before a few years ago, but hadn't been back since. My husband had never been here, so we decided to come for breakfast. We were there around 7:30 a.m. and although they had been opened for half an hour, we were the only ones at the restaurant the entire time. The restaurant itself has Bayou-inspired decor and even music that adds a nice touch, but the service and food just kind of fell flat for us. I had the "French Quarter" French Toast and my husband had the Cajun Benedict. My French Toast was made with really thin bread and so it was on the dry side. I had not had French Toast in a long time and was making an exception today. What a disappointment! My husband said his plate was also just o.k. We were also still working on our food and our server makes the comment "Oh, you ate so fast". What? What kind of a comment was that!! So all I can say is I really doubt that I will ever come back here, with so many other choices to have an excellent breakfast. Actually, I do have to add that it is also too pricey.

Huckleberry's has quickly become one of our favorite breakfast spots. Honestly, there hasn't been a single thing we've tried that didn't hit the spot--everything from the food to the customer service has been consistently great. The only things that can be a little hit or miss are the chicken (sometimes it comes out a bit stale) and the wait times on weekends--but that just shows how popular the place is! Overall, it's a wonderful spot for breakfast, and we always leave happy.

The upstairs dining area has a sports bar feel with plenty of TVs to catch a game, and Wolf Pack memorabilia throughout, which fits the location perfectly. The service was efficient and friendly. Our server checked on us the right amount and our food came out quickly. We ordered the Giant Hamburger and the BLT. The burger was thick, juicy, and piled high with classic toppings, messy in the best way and full of flavor. The BLT was generously stacked with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomato on toasted bread, simple and satisfying. The only downsides were the fries and my drink. The fries were overcooked, dry, and a bit too tough. I ordered a vodka soda, and it tasted more like soda with a splash of vodka. Overall, it was a good experience and we would return.

The atmosphere is everything you would want from a local bar joint. Pool table, Dart boards nice outside patio with heaters. Appetizers were Onions Rings and Cheesy Garlic Bread. The Onion Rings were tempura style fresh made in house...no frozen bag crap here. For my husband they were a hair on the doughy side but they weren't greasy at all which a totally appreciate. The Garlic bread was tasty having a hard Toasted cheese top with the gooey cheese underneath and the flavor was spot on. I'm a dark beer drinker so I went for the MOOSE DROOL if you had to many the moose wouldn't be the only thing drooling . You can't go to a tavern and not try one of the drafts...that would just be wrong. Hubby had the Prime Rib sandwich thought it was tasty with the chimiruri sauce and provolone cheese. I had the Meatloaf melt. It was the bomb. Tons of grilled onions a total mess to eat but so worth it...just make sure to ask for extra napkins. It was our 1st time eating there however it had been on our list for some time. We started with the PULL-APART GARLIC CHEESE BREAD which is Focaccia, mozzarella, marinara, parmesan, frico crust and also ordered the WOOD FIRED OCTOPUS with crispy gnocchi, tomatoes, red onion, basil, arugula and topped with a Calabrian chili aioli. Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The service was great, food was yummy and we definitely look forward to going back again soon!

The garlic bread pull-apart was honestly one of the highlights of the meal -- absolutely amazing and definitely something we'd order again. The pizza was also really good with great flavor and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere had a nice downtown vibe and felt relaxed and welcoming. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the service timing after our appetizer order. Once we got the garlic bread, it took about 20-30 minutes before our server came back to take our actual food order, which slowed things down quite a bit. Outside of that, everything else was great. One helpful tip for anyone visiting: there's paid meter parking on the street, so make sure to put enough time on the meter just in case your visit takes a little longer than expected. Overall, definitely worth checking out and we'd still come back again.

I absolutely loved the White Linen -- and that's saying a lot because I'm usually not much of a gin drinker. Tonight I also tried the Blueberry Lemon Drop. I also tried two of their specials -- the Salmon with Alfredo sauce and the Tenderloin sliders. Again, Alfredo normally isn't my thing, but the Salmon was cooked beautifully and the sauce was very enjoyable, especially since they accommodated my request for a lighter amount. Since I couldn't decide between dishes, I ordered the tenderloin sliders to-go as well... and they were delicious too! Our server Miguel was new and did a really good job. You could tell he was just a little nervous, but he was attentive, kind, and handled himself well. Everyone starts somewhere, and I wanted him to know he's doing a great job and will only continue getting better with experience. Another solid visit overall. It was also nice seeing GM Drew working the restaurant floor as usual.
