For my tastes, it is impossible to beat an authentic Carne Asada street taco... from the meat all the way to the cheese is what keeps me heaven. As many times as I have been to the Rail City Ale House, I can only advise on the tacos. That seems to be the only thing I ever eat there, aside from the their french fries (which they have multiple types... steak, waffle, curly and a few more which I can't remember right now) Anyway back to the tacos... They only offer them on the appetizer menu, and you get three tacos that have tender plenty of carne asada, cilantro, and mounds of Queso Fresco. The only thing that would make this better would be to put in on the entree portion of the menu and provide a side of rice and beans, or fries. What a way to go! read more

I almost feel odd giving this place a full 5 stars compared to some of the high end restaurants which I've given much lower rating to, but these stars are well deserved. While the casino is a smaller smoky place, they keep it clean. Ale House, on the other hand is in great shape and has some awesome deals! I've been probably 30+ times the last couple years and cannot say I've ever been disappointed. Their tri-tip sandwich is a personal favorite of mine as are their wings. Stopped in today for wing Wednesday when their wings are .50 cents each. They are crispy, hot, and crazy fast. Tara was our server and has been the last several times. She knows us when she sees us and makes it a point to say hello even if we aren't in her area. She is hilarious and dish out the snark as well as she can take it. I did not expect much going in but what a nice surprise. Friendly staff, fast service & good food. Wow. Went in with a hungry BF and ordered him a Jim Beam and coke only 2.75! and A appetizer of Baja tacos to calm his work nerves. Could not believe how quickly we got them. They were served with goat cheese an it gave them a nice flavor. Ordered myself a Prime rib cheesesteak sandwich with garlic fries. Very lean meat and flavorful, not to salty. The fries were just a tad soggy but very good but you better like Garlic because these are loaded with it. The boyfriend ordered a veggie pizza as they had a nice pizza oven going an our waiter says he eats a pizza for lunch every day. This was our choice was holiday grub since there wasn't much open besides casino food. Park to plan on entering the southwest corner of the building as the restaurant is located on the west side of the building. This is the easiest way to get there while breathing the least amount of smoke in the casino. Speaking of smoke, the restaurant is open air with the casino but they did at least mark the slot machines by the dining area 'no smoking' machines which minimized the lingering smell. Service seemed slower than average, especially since there weren't many people dining here but it wasn't slow enough to get a manager involved. The food was on par with the standard bar/pub fare offerings. The highlight was the sweet potato fries with their mango salsa, the wife and I thought it was a great combo. They also offer battered fries which were nice and crispy. I had the prime rib sandwich with a side of au jus, it was flavorful and came out fresh. They have some house beers as well as some other offerings for $2.50 and under but they looked like 12 oz glasses, not pints. Overall the experience was positive and the prices were decent, however do take note that they charge for sides of any dipping sauce outside of the standard (ketchup/mustard/mayo). read more

The Rib Eye was okay, I ordered medium rare but came out over, but I was on a quick lunch so didn't have time to return, but I did let Server know, who offered to cook another. They allow you 4 different kinds of fries with your meal, Curly, Garlic, Regular and Sweet Potato. The Garlic fries were PROPER, tons of GARLIC. The Prawns were 3 GIGANTIC ones, not overcooked and served with a side of butter. The vegetables on the plate were good, nothing special but a good variety of different ones. Last the Server was on POINT. The World Cup was starting and they made sure and turned the TV to it for my dining partner. The Server offered excellent service and you could tell she took a lot of pride in making sure everything was done right and with good timing. The Hostess is super nice and has a great smile. So I would give this place a 5 star because they have great service, fast even when they're busy. I come here only on Wednesdays for the wings. But this one star review is because one of my friends. He was drinking a beer and ordered a second. The manager came over to card him, fair, but he was already asked for his ID by our waitress. Well after the manager insured he was of age to drink, she decided that he was "drunk" and took away his second beer. My husband and I ate here a couple of days ago. It was my first time and his second. I would give it 5 stars, but the service is a bit slow. I had the Asian Crispy Chicken and Rice Salad. I'm the type of person that always orders the wrong thing, and now always ask my husband if he thinks I will like it. He thought it was a good choice, so I went with it. When the server said, " Oh that's brand new." I almost changed my mind. The server brought it out and said, " It looks interesting, like I said I have never served it before." It was really tasty. I had the 1 lb T-Bone one Night for $8, it was awesome, only issue is they made me eat potatoes and didn't offer to substitue some lettuce instead - weird. Even though their breakfast menu is very short, but it has essentials that fits the bill. We were here around 10:30AM on Sunday morning, not very busy compared to the other Breakfast establishments around town. Candy our waitress promptly greeted us and got us coffee and water. She very much made our day with a big smile. Food was good, service was great. Their brick pizza oven in the back of their food counter looked impressive, too. This place is awesome for a small old casino. Prices are great, service is very very good...always. The lettuce wraps are just as good if not better than Change at half price. The BBQ was better. The chicken had little too much smoke for me. The hot links were good and spicy. A would have liked a little more snap on the skin. Ale House used to have a good selection of fries and wings, now they narrowed it down to a few. I don't know what happened but everything used to be better about a year ago. Staff is "Blehhh" too. Nice place to eat! They have tasty, tender, smoke flavored ribs and a variety of other menu items. The waitresses are friendly and we always get food coupons in the mail. Most times they have immediate seating available. You can't beat the prices/specials and before you can indulge in conversation, here comes the food. The only thing I didn't like is the person walking around saying "KINO!" to play this game but I do realize it's a casino as well and people like to gamble while eating. read more

Avoid this place like the plague! Worst ribs I have ever had! This use to be my go to spot for the best ribs, but recently they made changes for the worst. The rib meat was tough and did not fall off the bone like baby backs should and they tasted like they were old and freezer burned. We have eaten in the cafe many times with good results. Met out of town relatives for late lunch on a Tuesday. Tuesday special is New York or T-bone steak for 9.95 (with casino card). Two in our party had the T-bones, they were flavorful and tender. One had the New York and it was good too. I splurged for the 8oz filet and 7oz lobster tail. The filet was moist and flavorful, but the lobster tail was cooked to perfection! Good beer selection and attentive wait staff. The only down side is no bread comes with the meal and we had to pay extra for the cornbread (which was so sweet and tasty!) Highly recommend the restaurant. Will try it again soon. read more

I Ordered the special here that was priced at $19.99. It was a New York steak and Lobster tail. I ordered the steak medium. The lobster tail was extremely small. I would say you get maybe two good bites. The steak was not even a steak. I would liken it to a Leather belt. It was thin, poorly seasoned and my knife could barely cut through it. It came with a very small baked potato And watery vegetables. I ate one bite that's all I could manage and it took me some time and my drink to get it down. He asked me how it was and I was honest. I said it was awful. They did ask me if I wanted another one but I was too far gone at that point. I paid $19.99 for two bites of lobster. It's adds insult to injury that the comps here are now a joke. I believe I got $ .08 off my bill. They gave me no discount, nothing. The person I ate with wasn't even offered a drink. No water, nothing. I left the steak, one bite eaten and that was that. No one even said a word. Needless to say I will not be returning here anytime soon if ever. Bad experience all the way around. If I could leave no stars I would This place was the worst! Not only did my family have to wait 1 hour to get our food but when we finally did it was un edible. The food was cold and my kids food was so burnt they couldn't eat it. I had a steak that consisted of only fat. I ended up spitting out all but two bites. My husbands burger was Burnt and dry. When I brought it to the managers attention he said he would take off my kids burger but told me next time not to eat the steak and send it back.. What steak it was all in about three napkins which I showed him. He didn't seem very sincere. All in all my family spent money only to come into a place and leave hunger then when we came in. Daughter and I came here to eat breakfast and I went to get a table and they stated it would be a 20 minute wait. Not bad, plus they gave us a pager. I walked by the bar area and noticed that they had food as well. There was only one table taken so I sat down there instead. They had some pretty good breakfast specials and they did not require a card. $5.00 breakfast burritos or $5.00 breakfast sandwiches, I had the burrito and it came with a bowl of fruit.
