Raider night

How to describe this outside of it is a real "dank" place. It's not a bad venue do not take that from my review, It's good for sports watching, they have great specials and their bartenders are great people too. The places could use better ventilation to let out the smoke especially because it is so small. I may come back to watch a few more football or basketball games but we'll see when. It's tucked away in the corner of the plaza so it can be easily missed. Give it a shot you may like the dive in bars.

Great opening door.

Loving it here. Bar tenders are great and it has great space. Tables and chairs outside so you don't have to sit inside if it is an amazing night like tonight. Very glad we came.

1864 Tavern is a great spot for delicious cocktails for intimate gatherings or larger groups. Most…read morerecently, I visited with a group of 10 for a birthday celebration. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. The joint was nearly empty aside from a couple at the bar. Plenty of seating for our large group in the large, comfy couches. They also have cool built-in seating around the perimeter of the bar, though not nearly as comfortable as the vintage furniture. The menu is sorted by glass type. A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. The prices are reasonable, too. Definitely worth the visit.

I really appreciate the follow-up--it shows that customer feedback matters and that they care about making things right. First impressions are important, and so is how a business responds afterward. I live in Southern California, but I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in Reno. Thank you for taking the time to reach out!

Wide variety of alcohol. Step out of your comfort zone and let them make a drink for you with your favorite spirit. The wall is full of selections from around the world. They do not have a beer selection. Have your valid ID ready no matter how "young" you are. Everyone is carded. We had two very different tastes (vodka and tequila) and she nailed both drinks perfectly. The bar felt clean, welcoming and comfortable even with its edgy vibe. I also loved the tarot cards they provide! I think they may have been intended as coasters (lol) but I kept mine as a souvenir and now use it as my bookmark. It's become one of my favorite little keepsakes. Location and parking: it's on a main strip right on the corner with a small parking lot but there's also accessible street parking in the neighborhood. I highly recommend it and will definitely return anytime I'm in Reno

The odd location adds to the charm and speakeasy feel. The owners are extremely friendly and have done an awesome job creating a true Tiki Lounge atmosphere transporting you back to the olden days of Hawaii. Drinks are strong and good and reasonably priced for the atmosphere bonus you are getting. Live music frequently available too. They've thought of everything. Only thing missing is pupus. The doors open into an pocket sized oasis right here in our own dry AF high-desert air; a dimly lit collection of tropical plants, puffer fish, ukelele music and aloha shirts. Its like a fever dream - the lovechild of Elvis Hawaiian movies and a trippy classic Disneyland ride, punctuated by neon and heavy cigarette smoke. The drink menu is extensive & eccentric. The establishment's proprietor, Dr. Shocker, perpetually clad in floral print and signature straw hat, is a fixture at the corner of the bar. He tells great stories. This is a true Reno hidden gem, and harkens to a simpler era of the classic Tiki bar, strong drinks, and living on island time. Go get drinks, get some samosas from next door...and get an Uber home. You'll need it.
