Five years in row and we keep coming back. They have great prices on PBR also. They also have a full bar inside. Lots of character inside. The bartenders are attentive to your needs. What can I say...we LOVE The Vic. We've been coming here for years, we love Bones, Drew and the bar crew. It's an honest to God, no frills, no sissy-fied bullshit BAR. Want smooth jazz and stuck up people...go elsewhere. Good people, fun bartenders, strong drinks, honest prices. Good people, fun bartenders...wait? Did I say that already? It's cuz the drinks are strong! Crowded during downtown Sparks events, but offers great people watching during! I'm a non-smoker, and never seemed to mind bar smokers. I've never encountered any unruly MC types, but hey, you're all hanging out in a fun bar! My tip for mixing in well with biker types? Don't be an asshole, and you'll be just fine! I came in here to watch a Sunday morning football game with my buddy because it was the only bar that had the certain game I wanted to watch. It's not really a usual customers only bar, but I did get the sense that it was a usuals preferred bar. The drinks were cheap, but the bartender was not very cordial. It's a tightly spaced bar which is pretty much just the hallway for the bar and a few additional tables to fill in the additional space. There is extensive smoke inside and it doesn't really get filtered out. I found it disgusting, just awful. Even if I were a smoker I suspect I would hate the smoky, second hand smoke atmosphere. There are a few tvs and like many local bars, people are a little mellow and a little machismo. The drinks are like most on the strip, pretty inexpensive at most times, outrageous (like 6 bucks for 12 oz of Sierra Nevada) during the Farmer's Market pick-up game. Unless you're there for the people and don't mind excessive smoke I can't see you getting much out of this place. read more

This Saloon is your typical Saloon. Old West style. Complete with motorcycle club patrons. Complete with a bartender who drinks with you while playing pool against the patrons. Complete with the music of Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson. Visiting Reno for a conference that was located in The Nugget across the street from this saloon. We had dinner at a neighboring eatery (see other reviews) and stopped in here for post dinner drinks. Good beer selection. Cheap prices. Cozy little spot. 4 Stars because the bartender offered a free homemade shot to my friends - the Fireball. If I was a fan of smoking I would have given a 5th star. But the smoke-filled bar isn't my style. Although it is authentically Saloon-ish! If you find yourself staying at The Nugget in Sparks, this place should be on your list of drink stops! read more

I wasn't here long, but compared to the bar next door, this place was awesome. The music wasn't too loud, the place was kind of small, but the people there were all having a good time and the staff even seemed nice. Located on Victorian Avenue in a strip of bars and restaurants in the shadow of the Sparks Nugget. Considering the location it's relatively drab inside. Like it would fit better as a corner bar in some neighborhood. Bud Light pts $3.50, but PBR pts $2. Everyone seemed to be regulars, and the BT was friendly enough. I have been going to the Victorian Saloon for many years. The owner and the other bartenders are kind, generous, and wonderful humans. I always know that I am respected and that, should I have too much to drink, they will ensure my safety. Unlike the negative reviewers, I have been to the bar and I know the character of the owner, employees, and patrons. The Vic is one of the only bars I go to and it is solely because of the wonderful staff. read more
