They were even willing to support the bride and groom's request to serve Juneshine on tap even though it wasn't something they carried. Wine was served in a plastic glass and they had lids with straws (like a sippy cup!) so you could enjoy your beverage on the dance floor without spilling. WIN! Would highly recommend for your event.

While buying a fifth of Hennessy and a personal, I also wanted to buy a Puff Bar. She insisted I open the Puff Bar before leaving because of recent malfunctions with them. Thus, I opened my first one and sure enough it was leaking juice. She immediately grabbed me a new one and insisted I open that one as well. I did, it wasn't leaking, I gave a puff and it was all good. She is a real one for making sure I paid for quality, working products! Thank you, again! River School Farm was the perfect venue for an intimate wedding with our closest family and friends…read morethis fall. Close to the Truckee River, tucked in a little pocket of Reno by Mayberry Park, we couldn't have asked for a spot that felt as private and serene. We wanted our day to feel like a slightly fancy-outdoorsy family reunion and knew this spot would be perfect when we visited it in the spring. By the fall, the greenery around the venue had filled in, making the area (and all our photos) extra beautiful. The available space can be set up in many different layouts. The ceremony area easily fit our guest list of 40, with room to spare. Then, it doubled as an area for games and later a bit of casual dancing by just moving a few chairs. We loved having a few different but connected areas for guests to spend time together. The owners were so helpful explaining everything about the venue. Many thanks to both for sharing such a wonderful space that is clearly cared for and kept with much love.

The last question I dared to ask -- about bottle sizes -- earned me an eye roll and a flat "no," as if I was ridiculous for even asking. Yet when we got home, we confirmed we do have a smaller bottle. We still spent over $150, but instead of a fun, guided tasting it felt like a rushed panic buy. Great oils, terrible service.

We also upgraded our experience from smores & fireplace outdoors, to a YURT! Best decision ever & it was our BEST winery experience ever! It was just perfect & magical! The yurt had 2 heaters, but we quickly turned one off. It wAs equipped with blankets & pillows! It was so cozy feeling. Our table was so nicely decorated, like out of a magazine! The experience came with a charcuterie board and 5 wine tastings. Everything was so good! Not a fan of White wine, but it's something about high elevation wineries...makes white taste yummy! We've been seeing Battle Born Beer available in stores and at various bars around town for a couple years, but now they have taken the next step and gotten their own digs, becoming the newest beer spot in this already beer-sy party of town. The facility is located technically off of Fifth Street, being in a converted warehouse literally right behind The Depot. The joint looks fantastic, perhaps even with traces of that 'new brewery smell' you look for when you go to the building dealership. There is space inside for some seating areas, and some closed off patio areas outside with room for tables and a couple outdoor games. As for hours, the owners are saying they are hoping to be open on Friday and Saturday nights in the near future, with plans to maybe expand hours or even the taproom itself to accommodate more customers. Parking can be a bit tight, given the abundance of favorite dinner and drinking spots around here, but should be very manageable when no events are going on. Today, though, was not the day to see the day-to-day operations, as the owners and staff wanted to kick things off right for their grand opening by throwing a real kicker of a block party! Great music, delicious fare served out from food trucks, cool swag for sale, and taps-a-plenty of their beer. So far they only have the one beer, their flagship pilsner. But this is a pretty darn good one, as it is tasty, smooth, and very easy drinking. Indeed, it is one of those perfect beers for events like this. Plus, with their close partnership to The Depot, look for some of their beers on tap as well. Prices were really good, with about two to three pints being $10, six-packs on sale for $7.50, and twelve-packs for $14. All in all, I am glad to see Battle Born open up a place of their own in the beating beer heart of the city. Will certainly look forward to coming back and trying them out again. Cheers, guys!
