Went here for a wine tasting and what a great small venue to try some locally made Nevada wines. Had a variety of whites, reds and late harvest that were all perfect and made to pair with food. We were told how difficult it is to grow grapes in the Minden area and how it is a challenge. The first taste was a white sparkling wine unfiltered that was exceptional and is made in a unique way that sparkling is formed with in the bottle. Support local and definitely support the new local supplier of estate wines in Northern Nevada.

Basin and Range is a very awesome wine bar! Their flights are very affordable and it's a wonderful experience trying all of the different wines made right here in Nevada. All of the owners of the different vineyards are very nice and accommodating! Would definitely recommend!

New couple to Reno. Just moved recently and I love wine so I dragged my bf to come wine tasting with me. Although he's more of a beer person he and I both loved it! We each did the flight tasting $5 each as well as a couples glasses of our favorites. When you buy a bottle the wine tasting cost is deducted from the cost of the bottle so that's cool. We also joined the Wine Club which is free to join and saved us another 10% or so. Joe was super friendly and helped us learn more about wine. Will be back for more.

    Amazing Wine!

The wine is very good, I like the la Cross (a red) best but their desert wine is fabulous. Joe and Wade are fabulous, too.

This wine bar has a variety of wine from all around the world. Some expected wines from France and California, but also some more obscure ones from places such as Austria, so there is something for every taste! You can both order a wine by the glass or buy a bottle, which they will open for you to have onsite and that you can also take home if you don't finish it. Their prices are fair for a bottle and I wish I had done that instead of ordering a glass. The service was great! We had a huge group, yet the server was super patient and provided great recommendations to everyone. She was running around the whole time to take care of us and other patrons, but always did it with a smile on her face. I never felt rushed. They have limited snack options for purchase but allow you to bring in your own snacks as well. Finally, the space. It is on the smaller size but we were able to fit our group in without issues, while still leaving some open tables for other patrons. They also provide service on a handful of outdoor tables. The only minor issue is they had live music which felt quite loud in such a small place, but when asked, they were able to lower the volume a bit which was very nice of them!

This place is so cool and not cool at the same time…read more.. Here's the bad stuff... 1. Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.

After nearly 10 months of planning, I expected the basics to be handled correctly. When we checked in, we were given a double room instead of the King room we reserved. I went back to the front desk and was told that because they were oversold for Thursday night, there was no way to move us into a King room at all during our stay. That explanation didn't make much sense--they confirmed they had King rooms available Tuesday and Wednesday, but because of the Thursday overbooking, they couldn't honor the reservation for any of the nights. So even though I booked months in advance and had already arrived, I was effectively bumped in favor of guests who hadn't even checked in yet. To make matters worse, only 2 out of 5 elevators were working the entire stay, which led to long waits (up to 20 minutes to get down in the morning) and added frustration. After the fact, I looked through other reviews and saw that this seems to be an ongoing issue, not a one-off situation. Between the reservation not being honored and the operational problems, it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. Skip this place.

The tour started with the lower level of the Renaissance Hotel (who provided water and a snack) for a introduction, a historical set-up (in costume) and fun "throw the cards" warm-up. Once outside (fully masked) and "on the road", our tour stops included the old Post Office/West Elm, the Reno Courthouse, the Virginia Street Bridge, Space Whale/Site of old Mapes Hotel, Old Riverside Hotel, one of Reno's historic old Alleys, and Belle Island. In between were stories of hangings, rings thrown from the bridge, missing person/mob hits, possible prohibition liquor runs through alleged tunnels, and of course the church where the finale of Sister Act was filmed. There were also magic tricks, bad jokes, a look up in the sky gag for tour add-ons, a fake birthday song tribute to a surprised restaurant patron, and a very enjoyable and interactive outdoor experience. The expedition ended back at the hotel with a ring magic trick, a bit historical letter reveal, and appreciation for a job well done. This expedition actually left me with wanting more in terms of local historical tidbits and stories. Maybe sometime post-COVID, a longer and smaller attended walking tour would be "in the cards". In the meantime, please buy a ticket to the Weird Reno walking tour and thank you Kalin, Jinger, Jacques, and family for a bringing a little welcome joy to such a challenging time. We met at Crafted Palette on a wintry Sunday morning. The place was empty and we were the only patrons for the duration of our meal, with the exception of someone picking up a to-go order. They have a surprisingly extensive menu; think flavored croissants, breakfast plates, sandwiches, salads, etc. and a small but varied coffee and drink menu. I ordered the shirred eggs with a side of bacon and a hot chai latte. I really enjoyed the shirred eggs. With the toast, it was a large portion and well worth the price. The bacon was a tad overcooked for my liking. The chai latte was also delicious: creamy, sweet and another large serving. The service was great and the interior was nice and welcoming with art all over the place. I'm excited to return for breakfast or lunch, especially as someone who works downtown! I would also love to go back for dinner, happy hour or a class after seeing their appetizers. Crafted Palette surprised me! I can't wait to return to this Reno gem!
