Stopped by here for a special meal. The room is absolutely beautiful! The acoustics are not great and it can get very loud and hard to hear the person across from you. Otherwise the food was great, as well as the location. We ordered the prime rib and the New York strip. Both were amazing! The escargot was very good as well. I really liked the creamed spinach and the baked potato was nice as well. The famous bacon cheese bread definitely lived up to the hype. I was there for an event. The service was excellent as was the food. They are known for their mushroom ravioli and it is a well deserved reputation. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. I had asked for no cheese on my Caesar salad I was impressed because when the served the ravioli I noticed it came with shaved Parmesan on top. I was going to ask for no cheese but didn't need to because my server said she remembered that I could not eat cheese and didn't put any on mine. They kept all the wine and water glasses filled. We chose the Roxy for our getaway dinner while staying at the Silver Legacy next door. The food was spot on with our meal a mix of tableside and kitchen selections. We had a great table, we could still hear music in the bar but were still able to have a great conversation. We all loved our meals. I had the lamb chops which I prefer medium well. Most chefs serve them rare and when you ask for med well, they over do them. They were done to perfection. They came with a risotto that made my mouth water. Tried this restaurant for the first time and had a pretty solid experience overall. We ordered the Prime Rib and the Scallop & Lobster Paella, along with a side of Shoestring Fries. The Prime Rib was the clear highlight of the meal--absolutely delicious. The first bite was fabulous: tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. It's a dish I'd definitely return for. The Scallop & Lobster Paella, however, wasn't quite to my taste. The scallops were nicely done, but the lobster was a bit overcooked and dry, which took away from the dish. The Shoestring Fries were actually a nice surprise--crispy and fun to eat. I enjoyed those more than expected. The food isn't the same. We used to go up the Reno 3 to 4 times a year before COVID and Roxy was our favorite place because of the quality of the food and drinks. Unfortunately, we cannot say this anymore. First off, my wife ordered their pork and it was so grisly that even the kitchen couldn't cut through it so it was actually served semi cut. We told the server and then the manager and they thankfully and respectfully didn't charge us for it. I on the other hand ordered their pork lamb chops which came out cold and chewy. I ordered them medium rare which is how they were cooked but why so cold and chewy? I've never had chewy lamb chops which before! Then there was the overly citrus Hariisa sauce which overpowered the whole dish including the potatoes and carrots that were on the plate too. My friend ordered the 7oz. Filet and said it was good. His wife ordered the chicken with Moroccan spice which was by far the best thing that I tasted from there that night. Then it came time to order dessert and we ordered several soufflé's, strawberry and orange but were told that it would take 35 minutes to make! There wasn't anywhere on the main menu that hinted that if we should want soufflé for dessert that we should let the server know ahead of time. It didn't say this on the dessert menu either. So we ordered and waited. Another disappointment. None of our group thought that it was great. I'll give credit where it's due tho and the drinks that we ordered were very tasty. Two espresso martinis and a bikini martini. It's an upscale steakhouse that has changed for the worse and sadly we won't be returning. read more

Absolutely loved celebrating Christmas Eve at The Roxy. Thankful to the staff working as they went above and beyond from start to finish. Cool open concept kitchen and we had a front row seat for it. Do not miss out on the table side old fashioned. They have a variety of liquor to choose from starting at $25-$50. It's a double so be prepared. Salmon with curry sauce was perfection. French onion soup delish and save room for dessert. The valet wasn't running but the El Dorado Casino has a free parking garage across the street and you can take the elevator to the sky bridge. You never have to go outside perfect for bad weather. Roxy has a piano bar lounge next door so stop by after or come early for a drink. read more

Went here for dinner with a party of 4. Our server Eric was fantastic. There was an issue with their soda that night so unfortunately one person wasn't able to have their Coca-Cola, but they made up for it with outstanding service. Two of us has amazing dirty martinis. They even poured us a little extra for the soda issue. I had the prime rib and whipped potatoes both which were delicious. My friend had the escargot and a crabcake both which she said were outstanding. And others at our table had shrimp cocktail, a steak and a fish again all cooked to perfection. They even brought out a birthday dish with ice cream and a candle. Because my friends uncle who was a local there we were able to get 15% discount. And i had a celebration comp with my Caesars card. So we were able to get around $160 discount all in. The last thing I'll mention is the GREAT bread. There's great sourdough and a bacon cheddar. Both are so yummy! I made sure to take care of Eric. Whenever my husband and I go for a quick getaway to Reno, we always make it a point to have dinner at Roxy! Our recent dinner there, a couple of nights ago was as expected, quite marvelous! For starters, we each enjoyed their sensational salads! I had their "Beet & Arugula Salad," and my husband had their "Caesar Salad!" For my entrée, I had the best "Scallops," ever! All four scallops, each on a sliver of mouth watering pork belly, were perfectly cooked! My husband had their melt in your mouth "Pork Pluma" for his entrée! Oh my, that dish was to die for! Truly exceptional! Both our meals were absolutely excellent! Of course, we always punctuate our dinner with a satisfying dessert! There wasn't much room left in our happy tummies, so we shared a decadent "Chocolate Torte!" Perfection! Great food! Great ambiance! And many thanks to Jesse for her great service! The scallop ceviche was overly sourly and the scallops were mushy. I think they put pineapple juice in it with lime? The purple yams and bananas chips were an interesting touch (not a good one at that); I wouldn't recommend this dish at all. The French onion soup lacked salt and was bitter. Unsure how anyone can miss up classic soup like this but it happened tonight. The complementary bread - bacon/cheese bread was cold, hard, and dry. The two things that were delicious were the prime rib and puree mashed potatoes. They were cooked to perfection. The ambiance is romantic - definitely a good date night. We made a reservation for their Thanksgiving dinner special ($75.99 per person). We called to see if they had an earlier time available but was told no, 8pm was the earliest time they had. When we arrived we were seated at a table near the back right next to another family, who was nonstop cussing loudly the entire duration. Very romantic, not. When we asked to order the Thanksgiving special (which was on the menu given to us) the waiter informed us that they had conveniently ran out of turkey, and there will be no substitutions offered. Instead we need to pay for each part of the menu individually, including the appetizers, the entree, and dessert. This means we have to pay an additional $20-40 per person more than if we had gotten the Thanksgiving special. Of course we were not happy with this and walked out. At that price, we might as well gone to the $85 Thanksgiving buffet at the Atlantis casino, which ironically might still have turkey left as well as more food options. The best part was as we walked out we stopped by several of the other in-casino restaurants, including the Gordon Ramsey Kitchen and The Brew Brothers, to see if they ran out of turkey - nope! Looks like this is a problem unique only to the Roxy. In summary, save your money. If you can afford to eat at the Roxy, you can definitely afford to eat somewhere much, much nicer as well. read more

The service was outstanding, the food was great and the price is reasonable for what you are getting. Started off the year with a family dinner at the Roxy. This was my first time here. The ambiance was upscale but casual. Service here was great! The food... Oysters rockefeller.. no complaints. It came with these mini Tabasco sauces. Yes, I tried to open them, but they didn't budge. Lol Next, I had their special, which was an eye of ribeye with a chimichurri sauce. The steak was great and sauce even better. Cooked to a medium rare as requested. Sides....brocolinni and buttery garlic potato puree. The potato was the star between these two. Brocolinni was alright, but everyone at the table preferred the potato. For dessert, we tried the beignets, which had a hint of dulcet de Leche, and were delightful. Date night, but take it up a notch! Roxy is the ultimate fancy dinner experience, and it did not disappoint! We shared oysters as an appetizer, split a wedge salad, and each had the entrée we were craving. Oysters were fresh, cold, not a single bit of grit in them. Just so lovely to start a meal. The vinaigrette they serve with them is amazing! They will split a wedge for a small additional charge, makes for a very lovely plating, rather than having to try to dissect a giant quarter iceberg by yourself! The bacon to blue cheese ratio is perfection. My scallops and pork belly were fantastic. The pasta was just a bit spicy, pork belly was nice and tender, but still crispy on the edges, and my scallops were to die for. I crave scallops, but I'm very careful about where I order them because if they are not done just right, they can be so rubbery. Roxy knows how to do scallops! Hubby had the special of the night, an eye-only ribeye crusted in herbs and pepper. The beef was fantastic, but the black garlic butter was really what made the dish! So delicious. Cheesecake is never a bad way to end the night, and this one was so fancy! The shape was really fun, the almond crust was fantastic, and the texture was so smooth and creamy. I highly recommend if you have a whiskey or bourbon drinker to try their smoked old-fashioned. It is made table side, on a beautiful cart with all the fun gadgets. This turned out to be a somewhat disappointing meal. As soon as I was seated, I was asked about drinks. I ordered my customary iced tea. Shortly, a young man appeared with a basket with bread. He asked me what I wanted and I took the sourdough. He also left a cup of soft butter. My server returned and I ordered the CAB prime rib. He though there was only one piece left but he said he'd go and check. When he returned, he explained they were out of prime rib. Instead, I ordered the 14 ounce NY steak. I asked for it to be cooked blue. He asked if I wanted it charred on each side and I said no. He then told me they had two dessert specials, a chcolate and vanilla soffulé but it had to be ordered in advance for the baking time. I requested the vanilla soufflé. After several minutes, I had to stop him and ask for my iced tea. He apologized and had a glass and a container for refilling the iced tea brought to the table. Then came the steak. He wanted me to cut into it to see if it was done enough. I said that wouldn't be necessary. It was done just the way I like it--almost cold on the inside. The large sea salt crystals on top enhanced the flavor. When it came time for dessert, he brought a sad looking soufflé. It had fallen and he told me they would take it off the bill. I ate part of it, but the flavor was lost even with the crème anglaise. When he brought the bill, he told me they had removed the charge for the iced tea and for dessert so I ended up paying for soup and steak. That was somewhat of a deal, but a bit of diappopintment, too, because I looked forward to the dessert. read more

How can I be a Reno native and have never been to this restaurant before this year?! I've been here twice this last month and am so impressed by the quality of food, the professionalism of staff, and the beautiful ambiance. We were seated in the wine cellar area. It was quieter than the rest of the restaurant and it was a nice romantic room for a date night. On our recent visit we shared the lobster escargot appetizer and the shishito peppers. They are both phenomenal and so flavorful. Love using the butter from the lobster escargot dish to dip the fresh baked bread into! The filet mignon is beautifully cooked and so tender. My husband and I love the carrots and the mashed potatoes as sides. The ice cream sundae is my husband's favorite dessert. He keeps talking about it even weeks later! Christmas Eve, Stopped in the bar to have a drink with my wife. Bar wasn't super busy, got a table and placed an order with the bartender, and asked for a glass of water. Ten minutes later still hadn't received a drink or a glass of water! Went back up to the bartender, and he repeated our order and went down to the other end of the bar and started taking pictures of someone at the bar with their phone! Never been treated so rudely! The ambience is romantic and they had live music playing in the background. My husband and I enjoyed the evening. Our servers Delaina and James were top notch. Delaina has a bubbly personality and smiled each time she visited our table. James was efficient in following up with our water refills and clearing the dishes. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, Sea Scallops, Ribeye and Brussels sprouts. Everything was flavorful. I really enjoyed the crust on the ribeye. It was cooked to perfection. Rather than the food being disappointing it came from our server Jessie, as many theory "teens don't tip" my friend and i who have both worked in food service for 2+ years know how to leave a tip, but that is something i refuse to do when we are fully dismissed by our server, not that she was rude but we never saw her. After asking for a minute to read over the menu we were left for 20 minutes. Not once were we checked up on while eating our food and were left with our dirty dishes forever while everyone else got theirs cleaned. When we asked for a split check she seemed to have an issue and told us that would definitely take her a minute to do... a split check for two people??? our split checks came about another 15 minutes later. but what goes around comes around there fore i did still leave her with a good tip. read more
