We went to Kuma Sushi for lunch and I'm glad we did because I already can't wait to go back! The servers were nice and quick and the ambiance inside was chill but upbeat and it was fairly busy during lunch but we did get seated right away. We did all you can eat and our favorite other than the nigiri were the shooting star roll and spicy challenge roll. The beef teriyaki was also really good and tender! Everything we ordered from the sushi to the appetizers was really fresh. We came for the sushi but we were really impressed with how tender, fresh and flavorful the beef teriyaki tasted. We will definitely be back here again! This may be our new favorite sushi spot in Reno.

The sushi was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. I also love coming here for the appetizers, they have some of the best appetizers in town for a sushi restaurant. Super cute and aesthetic inside. The only thing that disappoints me is that after the first round of orders, the rice on the sushi seems to get thicker and thicker, even when we don't order very much at the beginning.

When we arrived at 7pm during dinner rush, we were promptly seated. We made reservations ahead of time. Party of 7 people. The place is packed, and the place is small. The sushi is okay, some were delicious. I lost track of what I ate. I enjoyed their miso soup and their udon noodles soup. I like their soft shell crab . It could use a little bit of salt.

Kuma Sushi is an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. They offer a large variety of items on their menu. We enjoyed most of the rolls we ordered and I felt there was a good balance between the amount of fish to rice ratio. I also didn't feel the sauces were excessive which I really appreciated. Service was attentive where they kept our water/soda glasses filled and our empty plates were removed from our table. It's a smallish restaurant, quaint and cozy. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and dine there again.

Another successful trip to Kuma. This is becoming one of my favorite sushi spots to frequent. Their rolls are unique and have a twist to your normal sushi restaurant. Their fish is always so fresh and delicious. My favorite things to order are the Kuma, Larvae, and Volcano (baked). Their mussels are also super good. We came in on Sunday around 1pm. It was definitely busy but we were able to put our names on the list for 3 people. We were seated within about 15-20 minutes. We sat at a table and our food came out in a normal amount of time.

The kuma roll was our favorite but everything we ordered was delicious. We drove 45 minutes into Reno because Kuma is so much better than every option in the area.

Had a really great experience at Kuma Sushi. The fish was noticeably fresh, and the menu has a fun mix of creative rolls along with plenty of cooked options. The owners were friendly and helpful, and we had a great time. One standout was a very spicy roll topped with fresh jalapeño. I can't remember the exact name, but it delivered real heat and definitely lived up to the spice level. It was bold, intense, and still flavorful. Another honorable mention were the salmon bombs, which were delicious and a great balance of rich and savory. What I really appreciated was that there were solid options for everyone. My mom isn't a big sushi person, but she genuinely enjoyed the cooked rolls, which says a lot. Everything we ordered felt fresh and well balanced, and the rolls weren't overloaded with rice. If you're looking for fresh fish, creative rolls, genuinely spicy options, and cooked rolls that even non-sushi lovers will enjoy, Kuma Sushi is a great choice.

Consistency is the reason this place is so good! Quality fish and products. They roll their large selection of both cooked and raw tight and use just the right amount of rice. If you are wanting the heat from peppers they have spicy rolls! Baked mussels always have that little char on them. With AYCE you get a choose of carpaccio as well. Yellowtail and salmon pair really good with their vinegar. All their fried shrimp have a good tempura breading on them. So do the scallops. Save a little room for the dessert.

We went to Kuma Sushi for lunch; when we arrived at the restaurant, they had a huge party already eating in the main dining room plus a 6-person party waiting for a table, so it was about 20-30 minute wait. We were offered an opportunity to sit at the bar but our 3-person party decided we wanted to sit at a table; so, we waited. Eventually, we were seated at a table in a corner of the smaller dining room just behind the hostess' station and because it was Memorial Day Holiday, the restaurant had dinner pricing which came out about $140 for three people including tip. We ordered a bunch of appetizers because Kuma had great appetizers: fried calamari sticks and fried gyozas, grilled mussels, popcorn scallops and agedashi tofu. After the appetizers arrived, we placed and order for a few long rolls (a Philly Crunch, a Shooting Star, a Mountain and a Dragon minus the avocado; plus a salmon skin handroll and fried yellow tail collar- only available on the dinner menu), and some nigiri (unagis, sabas, peppered Mickeys, Donalds and a couple of upside down scallops). All the food were great, especially the appetizers. My only critique was the nigiri had a really thick amount of rice and the upside-down scallops were too spicy for my liking. Other than that the service was attentive and friendly enough; the food portions were generous, we almost didn't finish it all; plus, I had just enough space left to order an affocado for dessert. Overall, minus the long wait-time, out dining experience was still pretty positive.

    Amanda M.

For the all you can eat, having the ability to get one speciality like the carpaccio is definitely generous as you do not see that many places. The speciality nigiri like the Donald Duck are very yummy with a good rice to fish ratio. There are some rolls that you can pick without rice. Overall, the rolls were not as interesting to me as getting their nigiri due to be heavier on the cooked roll side. I will go back sometime to give more rolls a try though. My daughter and I have sat at the bar where the service was fast and everyone friendly.

    Valarie P.

Fast service (we sat at the bar) Fresh food, lots of choices I haven't seen most places. Lobster offered on multiple dishes. Great for kids! Chciken nuggets and French fries are each an appetizer! The affocado dessert is really good! I'm a coffee lover so it hit the spot. We are leaving happy and full!

I had a light meal here since I had eaten earlier, but I really enjoyed the well seasoned edamame paired with a simple miso soup on the side.

A very semi formal sushi place with amazing atmosphere and the sushi was beyond expectations. Though the service was okay, our server was not the most attentive and forgot my tea a few times. Not necessarily the worst experience and definitely will be returning as it was still amazing food.

As I sit at the bar with salmon eggs popping in my mouth, I think: life is good, but not perfect,…read moresame for Tokyo Sushi. Most times I come alone an hour before closing and get a seat at the bar almost immediately. This visit, I was astonished to find 36 people on the waitlist with only an hour left. At that late point they hand out order sheets while you're waiting, which for groups still not seated means placing a MEGA order as soon as you sit down, followed by a rushed scarfing-down session as the staff begins closing up shop. The menu is quite large with heavy overlap with the menus at most other AYCE places. Roll selection is good and popular, as I look to either side, I'm appreciative of most patrons filling up on rolls commonly made with fake Krab (same stuff in frozen fish sticks), deep-fried ingredients, and generous applications of mayo and eel or teriyaki sauce. These cost the restaurant far less than a steady stream of nigiri, effectively subsidizing the roughly $120 worth of assorted nigiri I'm about to consume for about a third of that price. To each their own. The rice was perfectly seasoned and properly cooked, the most important part of sushi, though on one previous visit it leaned a bit too sweet. The fish tasted good, and the fish-to-rice ratio is better than at most competing spots. Service attentiveness can vary but on average is typically solid with a call button you can press. The combination of a packed dining room and upbeat music makes the place LOUD and festive, with sports on two large-screen TVs that appeal to the younger Midtown crowd. The downside is that carrying on a conversation in a larger group can be challenging. The bar refrigerator sits high enough that you can't really watch the chefs work, and when combined with the noise and possibly a language barrier, forget about chatting with the sushi chef. Food-wise, it's easy to place Tokyo Sushi in Reno's top three AYCE options, though you'll pay a few dollars more than average at roughly $45 per person with tax and tip as of June 2026. Its extreme popularity, however, fills the parking lot and creates wait times capable of testing almost anyone's patience. Waiting over an hour during peak dinner service is not uncommon, and the crowded waiting area may leave you standing outside or sitting in your car. Hungry couples and groups may want to consider less busy alternatives, especially on a 90+ degree summer day or when winter "rolls" around.

Service I would give a 2 star. The chocolate icecream looks like it was be prescooped into the cups then put back in the freezer after it had melted a little. In the picture, you can see it was melted at some point and then refrozen. Makes the ice cream taste gross. I got passed by 7 different times before a waiter told me to put the ticket in the holder for someone to come get it. The server was going to put it in the holder and walk away without it until I mentioned I'd already been passed by several times, then he took it with a huff. In 2018 I gave this place a 5 star so I wanted to try it again with my mother and my son. A little disappointed. I'm willing to give it another chance but not anytime soon. I need the distaste of bad service to get out of my mouth before I return.

We were seated quickly. Now that can be attributed to the fact that we were early for dinner. We opted for a tabled, but there were plenty of seats available at the sushi bar. We only waited for a few minutes before the first wave of fish was delivered. Throughout dinner, we never had to wait long for the sushi to be delivered. The atmosphere was decent. It felt like it was more of a storefront than a traditional restaurant. But, it was a storefront and I don't care about that. I base my rating on freshness, service and cleanliness of the store. One thing that surprised me was the Kani (crab). I ordered it wondering if it would be real crab or imitation. It was real! I was happy and surprised. I ate my fill. Actually, I ate more than my fill. Enjoyed it completely. My sushi coma was justified. Freshness: 10 Service (dining time 3:30pm) : 10 Friendly: 9 (Anymore would be just awkward) Cleanliness: 10 Parking: 10 Bottom Line ------------------ Would I recommend O' A Sushi to friends and family? Yes. Would I go back there again? Yes.

The card says, "Buy 10 meals and get the 11th free." It does not say that all 10 stamps have to be on the same physical card, and it does not say "no combining cards." The frustrating part is that the restaurant also did not ask us to keep using one existing card. On prior visits, they simply handed out new punch cards, which is how we ended up with multiple partially stamped cards in the first place. Then, when my wife and daughter tried to use the stamps together, the restaurant refused and said the 10 stamps had to be on one card. They spent about 10 minutes discussing it with staff, but the reward still was not honored. I understand restaurants can set whatever loyalty program rules they want, but those rules should be printed clearly on the card and applied consistently. As written, the customer-facing promise is that if you buy 10 meals, you get the 11th free. Refusing to honor multiple stamped cards, especially after handing out new cards on prior visits, felt unfair and created an unnecessarily negative experience. The food may be good, but this left a bad impression. If the policy is "one card only," they should print that clearly and stop handing out new cards when customers already have active ones.

I ordered two rolls, the negi toro roll and the fire ocean roll. I literally have pictures of both because the rice to fish ratio is a complete joke for what they are charging you. It was basically a giant mountain of rice with a tiny sliver of fish hidden inside. The food could have been salvageable but the service was also bad. I was given two sushi rolls with no soy sauce plate, no chopsticks and no napkins. I had to sit there staring at my food while it sat warm on the table. I also ordered edamame and it's a miracle that you can dry something out by steaming it. It was completely shriveled and uneditable. To top it all off, none of the hosts or waitresses paid attention to me for an extended period of time so I talked to the sushi chefs that spoke no english to help me. 5 stars to them because they actually tried to help me out when the rest of the staff ignored me, but unfortunately it doesn't really help the restaurant.
