When we arrived at 7pm during dinner rush, we were promptly seated. We made reservations ahead of time. Party of 7 people. The place is packed, and the place is small. The sushi is okay, some were delicious. I lost track of what I ate. I enjoyed their miso soup and their udon noodles soup. I like their soft shell crab . It could use a little bit of salt.

Kuma Sushi is an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. They offer a large variety of items on their menu. We enjoyed most of the rolls we ordered and I felt there was a good balance between the amount of fish to rice ratio. I also didn't feel the sauces were excessive which I really appreciated. Service was attentive where they kept our water/soda glasses filled and our empty plates were removed from our table. It's a smallish restaurant, quaint and cozy. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and dine there again.

Another successful trip to Kuma. This is becoming one of my favorite sushi spots to frequent. Their rolls are unique and have a twist to your normal sushi restaurant. Their fish is always so fresh and delicious. My favorite things to order are the Kuma, Larvae, and Volcano (baked). Their mussels are also super good. We came in on Sunday around 1pm. It was definitely busy but we were able to put our names on the list for 3 people. We were seated within about 15-20 minutes. We sat at a table and our food came out in a normal amount of time.

Had a really great experience at Kuma Sushi. The fish was noticeably fresh, and the menu has a fun mix of creative rolls along with plenty of cooked options. The owners were friendly and helpful, and we had a great time. One standout was a very spicy roll topped with fresh jalapeño. I can't remember the exact name, but it delivered real heat and definitely lived up to the spice level. It was bold, intense, and still flavorful. Another honorable mention were the salmon bombs, which were delicious and a great balance of rich and savory. What I really appreciated was that there were solid options for everyone. My mom isn't a big sushi person, but she genuinely enjoyed the cooked rolls, which says a lot. Everything we ordered felt fresh and well balanced, and the rolls weren't overloaded with rice. If you're looking for fresh fish, creative rolls, genuinely spicy options, and cooked rolls that even non-sushi lovers will enjoy, Kuma Sushi is a great choice.

For the all you can eat, having the ability to get one speciality like the carpaccio is definitely generous as you do not see that many places. The speciality nigiri like the Donald Duck are very yummy with a good rice to fish ratio. There are some rolls that you can pick without rice. Overall, the rolls were not as interesting to me as getting their nigiri due to be heavier on the cooked roll side. I will go back sometime to give more rolls a try though. My daughter and I have sat at the bar where the service was fast and everyone friendly.

Consistency is the reason this place is so good! Quality fish and products. They roll their large selection of both cooked and raw tight and use just the right amount of rice. If you are wanting the heat from peppers they have spicy rolls! Baked mussels always have that little char on them. With AYCE you get a choose of carpaccio as well. Yellowtail and salmon pair really good with their vinegar. All their fried shrimp have a good tempura breading on them. So do the scallops. Save a little room for the dessert.

I showed up at 4ish and wasn't many people there. Just waited to be seated for a few mins. Sat at the bar, music playing and everything was clean. Service was great, staff checking on me and see if I needed anything. I do like spicy foods and the rolls labeled spicy do have a nice kick to them. Only roll I wouldn't recommend is the Korean poke...so dry and bland. Everything else was great. Lunch all you can eat is $30 and dinner is 40. I would recommend this place for anyone

The kuma roll was our favorite but everything we ordered was delicious. We drove 45 minutes into Reno because Kuma is so much better than every option in the area.

I had a light meal here since I had eaten earlier, but I really enjoyed the well seasoned edamame paired with a simple miso soup on the side.

We went to Kuma Sushi for lunch yesterday, located on Lakeside Drive. We arrived outside the restaurant a little before 11; so when our 4-person party entered the restaurant, we were the first customers to arrive and were easily accommodated at a 4-top table in the corner of their modest dining room. The restaurant was very orderly still, the decor is so modern and sleek but inviting. The staff were friendly and accommodating, they move quickly and efficiently; dropping off sushi orders and replenishing drinks speedily. The menu was vast, there were so many different varieties of appetizers, sushi and desserts; you can make a meal out of their appetizers alone, and all the food tasted so good and was very filling. Every person in our party thoroughly enjoyed their food and were very content with our meal; the price was reasonable and our dining experience was really positive; I look forward to dining here again.

Fast service (we sat at the bar) Fresh food, lots of choices I haven't seen most places. Lobster offered on multiple dishes. Great for kids! Chciken nuggets and French fries are each an appetizer! The affocado dessert is really good! I'm a coffee lover so it hit the spot. We are leaving happy and full!

A very semi formal sushi place with amazing atmosphere and the sushi was beyond expectations. Though the service was okay, our server was not the most attentive and forgot my tea a few times. Not necessarily the worst experience and definitely will be returning as it was still amazing food.

Fish was fresh and ambiance was comfortable. House music playing which was a change but a welcomed one. We loved the RedBull (unagi) roll, the Ola Amigo, as well as the Donald (nigiri)! Menu overall was kinda boring though. Everything was "good". And as I mentioned, fresh but the flavor profiles felt bland and repetitive from roll to roll. Again, nothing bad... just lacking "Wow" Service also left much to be desired, servers and runners are attentive enough I guess but all short with words for sure.

This long-time Reno favorite is especially popular with the younger crowd due to the South Midtown location. Popularity is its main weakness though as it makes parking a headache, (not an area to leave valuables), and there is almost always a wait, often nearing or exceeding an hour during prime weekend dinners. No reservations. Don't be surprised if you have to wait outside or in your car. Once seated, place fewer large orders instead of many small ones since staff are stretched thin. Conversation can be tough with the loud packed room and music. Sports usually on big screens. Even at the sushi bar, it is not the usual experience. You still order on paper. High bar fridges block the view, and with 6 to 8 chefs working fast, conversation is unlikely. You are there to eat, not watch the craft or make a new friend behind the bar. Fish quality is about as good as AYCE gets in Reno, and the rice is less sugary than most. Nigiri often has the best fish-to-rice ratio in town. Good roll selection, including a Salmon Skin Handroll. Like many spots, some rolls are heavy on eel sauce or mayo, making the fish secondary unless you skip sauce or choose simpler options. The baked mussel appetizer was drenched in sweet sauce and tasted like candy. Surprised there was no mayo on those too. Price is a couple dollars above average local AYCE but worth it if you tolerate the wait, still cheaper than casinos. Monday through Thursday, sake is included. Arguably the best spot in Reno right now, though on a busy night I might pick one of the close seconds if I want to eat quickly. NOTE: It appeared they charged a higher tip than I left, so check your credit card charge a few days later

Upon being seated, we were told to fill out the all-you-can-eat order form as many times as we wanted, which sounded great. I personally don't eat sushi, but I appreciated that they offered protein options like chicken and beef. I ordered a Bento box--simple enough. That's where things started to go downhill. My meal didn't arrive for over 30 minutes, and when it finally did, it was cold. The chicken tasted like pressed meat and was extremely chewy--definitely not what you'd expect from a basic entrée. I wasn't planning to complain, but it became clear the issue wasn't just my order. The other four people in my group were barely being served at all. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us were receiving multiple rounds of food while we continued waiting. We asked several servers for updates, and each time we were told they'd check on it--only for them to disappear for 10-15 minutes with no follow-up. After spending over two hours there, many of us left hungry and frustrated. I understand places like this may rely on high turnover or tourist traffic, but customer service and basic food quality should still matter. If you're taking the time to read reviews before choosing where to eat, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. And just to top it off--the ice cream was so frozen solid in its pre-staged cup that the spoon couldn't even break through it.

We loved the size of the rolls, not too much rice, flavorful, fresh and good. Before our order came out we were offered a sample of a new dumpling pork bun that was so good we wished we could order it; but the owner informed us it would be coming to a store next door soon - so stay tuned for a new O'A dumpling dim sum shop to open soon in the same shopping center. They did an amazing job with the interiors and it has a high-end dining vibe. However, there are several things in the customer service department that needs improvement. First, it's impossible to get a table without a reservation, unless you're willing to wait 20+ minutes. One reason is the chaotic triage process at the front. There isn't enough dedicated space for the waiting area, and as soon as there is more than 1 group, the system implodes. This means that, even if you walk in with a reservation, you get lost in the crowd until the host can effectively sort out who's who. Second, while your order might come out at a reasonable speed, it's impossible to get anything else. The servers are always busy, and every time we have asked for a refill, another roll, a box, etc, we eventually just give up and hope that we aren't charged for something we didn't get. I still find myself coming back since this is the only sushi restaurant that seems to have high quality food and well-balanced flavors. Most places seem to prioritize quantity over quality now. Just be prepared for some glitches in customer service, adjust your expectations, and you can still walk away having eaten a great meal.
