The sushi was tasty, the service was amicable and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance although a bit drab for my taste was alright.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had some all you can eat of course since this is Reno! I will say I am not a person who enjoys tuna in any case the texture is always weird to me regardless of its spicy or not I can deal with the whole piece of tuna but not when it's chopped. With that disclaimer out of the way the sushi was delicious different from other spots for sure, and even tho I believe this sushi place has been around for a while it does not feel that they have really found what sushi they wish to be defined by... other than that I did appreciate that the mussels were not in their shells when served a different take on the usual appetizers. All in all a good experience would come back but not necessarily my first choice.

The sushi was fresh and the service friendly. All you can eat sushi was slow to get to table at first, but then came quick. The ala cart ca. roll was not as fresh...the waitress said there are different chefs.

the food here is delicious i definitely recommend the all you can eat lunch special but be warned don't order too much lol! the service here amazing the staff are so kind, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]i love the vibes of this place great music[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Service was mediocre; waitress unfriendly and not welcoming. Rolled her eyes a couple of times as I seen her do it to several paying customers. Sushi quality was on the lower end. Crab sticks tasted old and dried out. Their sushi had more rice compared to others. Limited appetizers to choose from for AYCE. Small scoop of ice cream for dessert.0

I had my meal delivered by grub hub, so I can't speak on ambience, but the to go containers were sturdy styrofoam, and chopsticks, napkins, and soy sauce provided. The most incredible dish on the menu, the "rice less sushi"!! I eat mostly keto, so this was music to my ears. It was heaven with a cucumber wrapper! Thank you sushi 7 for a yummy rice free dinner.

Awesome sushi in northwest Reno, that was a bit further out of my normal south Reno bubble. I'm so glad that friends wanted to meet up here because it was delicious!! The service was top notch and the sushi was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place as a solid sushi experience and will absolutely be back!

We always go for the shared plates, it's more expensive but worth it. Some things to consider before you visit: -No reservations, first come first serve. Most nights it's a 30-45 minute wait if you don't get there right when they open. We always put our name down and walk to Chapel for a cocktail while we wait. - Like many of the reviews state, it does get pretty loud. It is part of the experience. The later the night gets, the louder the music and the dimmer the lights. Don't be the annoying person that asks them to adjust either of those things. If that's not your vibe, you should dine elsewhere. - Seating is limited, not the place to have people just trickle in/ come and go. If you are dining here, everyone should show up on time. - They do have gluten free mods, but they are not available on the weekends. - I would not recommend for vegans We have tried basically the entire menu. Our favorites are the duck fried rice, Caesar, mushroom croquettes, soba noodles, ten layers of pork, pork gyoza, shrimp fritter, Tokyo fried chicken, chicken meatballs, rice tots, and mushroom jar. Everything we've tried is outstanding, even the beef tongue! Drinks are all really good, only note I have is that the wine pours are pretty small. If you haven't been here, definitely add it to your list. Easily top 5 restaurants in all of Reno!

Parking is fairly easy, with plenty of street spaces nearby, and an easy walk if you're already hanging around the neighborhood. The service was friendly and fairly prompt, and even for a weekday night the place was bustling, leading to a bit of a backup. Cool vibes all around, and it's neat to sit at the bar and watch the chefs do their thing. Though it does mean this is a little bit on the noisy side. Look at the menu, and there are tons of tempting options. As the name suggests, their specialty here is small plate off the grill or out fo the fryer. But they do serve really good-looking ramen, too, which I will make not to try next time I swing by. I at first went with a quick bite of grilled chicken thighs, which were just amazing! They were juicy, eprfectly seared, with some grilled green onions and an amazing sweet soy sauce. I also went with the yakionigiri, which are balls of rice that are grilled, brushed with sauce, and topped with a sort of mango slaw. A bit uncommon, but wow, these were also just so delicious! Also had a glass of sake, though they have a full bar should you want some other sort of beverage. Prices here are, I feel, a little on the higher end for small plates. However, I think it is definitely worth coming and trying this place out at least once or twice, just to expereince some of the good food. I'm sorry it took me so long to finally step through the doors, but I am certain I will be back again to try more of what's on the menu.

THE BEST JAPANESE SHABU SHABU I HAD BY FAR!!!!! So far this is the only legit Asian restaurant I've…read morehad in Reno. How it works? You have to make reservations because they prepare your ingredients with love and care. For night time reservations, it's like a speak easy kind of entrance, because the basement was already close, Sean, one of the owners, will pick you up and lead you to a secret elevator that descend to the basement. They aim for a zero-waste food, so all your orders will not go into waste (I will explain later). Each person has its own pot. For now, since they just opened recently, they have seven induction stoves --- that meant they can only take 7 person at a time. You will choose your protein and size of the pot, they have the smallest one, which they call chubi, then ninja, sho time, king kong and gorilla. I chose beef belly (a must try) and fish balls (this is not just a regular fish balls because it has a roe/fish eggs inside!) -- then they will teach you how to eat in a way you will experience the best shabu shabu experience. If you have left overs, don't worry, you can take it home -- they will prepare it for you so you can just reheat it and eat. (The soup was still so so good the next day!) The sake (rice wine) that they have had different flavors. It was my first time to taste one with flavors. I also tried its unfiltered sake, and oh boy, it brought me back the times when I had a dinner with Japanese consul (one of my perks as a former journalist) and my travel in China. Their cheesecake is also a must try! It was a guiltless cheesecake because it was low carbs and low calories. The owners, Yuki and Sean are very friendly, accommodating, and very mindful of the food -- they don't want the food to go into waste! I love the ambiance -- I had my birthday party there, and felt like we have the restaurant all to ourselves! It was intimate, clean with simple but functional interior. The last we dined in there (which was the third time) they are expanding and adding more inductions to accommodate the demand, 'cause people are coming back and referring this restaurant to friends. Update: My mom and I dined in there (few weeks before I deliver my baby) in April and they expanded their stoves. They can accommodate more than 20,I think, of diners.

Okay, wow. I have heard how great this place is, definitely worth the hype. I genuinely loved it…read more Flavor profiles were great. It was so delicious and I am new to hot pot, so I'm sold. The sauces to dip your veggies and meat were absolutely delicious. The sesame dipping sauce can be customized to add a bit of heat by adding chili oil. I chose just one drop, for the most gentle mild spice level, definitely worth it. Spice can sometimes take away from a meal so I don't overdo it, but I probably can push for an extra drop next time. The citrus ponzu was delicious. It's all the flavors I love. The vegetable platter is perfect to accompany the meat and you have your bowl of rice to go with the meat and vegetables. I was guided through the entire process and it was very helpful, grateful for that. You get to choose your meat type, and how much you want of it. Honestly it's perfect. I don't eat a lot and I still chose 7oz of meat and had plenty to eat and enough for my "to go soup". The concept to add everything you didn't eat in a to go container (some may say that's basic or normal) well I think it's awesome because it's no longer just cooking your meat in a broth and dipping in sauces accompanied with rice, it's a whole different meal at home. It's a delicious soup with meat vegetables and noodles. (Fair warning if you eat everything there, you probably won't have anything left to make a soup. It's ok, you still enjoyed it ) Phenomenal. Definitely going back. The layout is very cool. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sweet girl. Just can't get over how good it was.

A spacious design, clean it seems. a happy greeting. The chefs and some of the patrons were glued to the soccer game. No complaints. They took good care of us terms of timely service. Getting down to it though...I wasn't too happy with the flavor of the rolls. The Godzilla roll I had was served with tuna which I didn't expect. The menu does however the menu call for it to contain a "mixed assortment of fish". The tuna overpowered. It wasn't as flavorful as other places I had Godzilla rolls at. The rest of the rolls were just okay. The Honolulu was okay. The mango it was topped with didn't pop with the brightness of flavor I expected so it made the roll itself taste dull. The Tundra was good, same thing with the mango again. The shrimp and salmon in the roll tasted fresh so it made up for it. The Black Sunshine was unique with asparagus and the 2012 with spicy crab was decent. Overall I'll have to give it a three for now. The rolls being the star of the show didn't really shine. I'm willing to try them one more time in the in the future to see what's changed to give them a fair shake.
