Mussels
John H.

The sushi was tasty, the service was amicable and the ambiance although a bit drab for my taste was alright. We had some all you can eat of course since this is Reno! I will say I am not a person who enjoys tuna in any case the texture is always weird to me regardless of its spicy or not I can deal with the whole piece of tuna but not when it's chopped. With that disclaimer out of the way the sushi was delicious different from other spots for sure, and even tho I believe this sushi place has been around for a while it does not feel that they have really found what sushi they wish to be defined by... other than that I did appreciate that the mussels were not in their shells when served a different take on the usual appetizers. All in all a good experience would come back but not necessarily my first choice.

The sushi was fresh and the service friendly. All you can eat sushi was slow to get to table at first, but then came quick. The ala cart ca. roll was not as fresh...the waitress said there are different chefs.

Smoked Salmon, Tamago Nigiri, Crab stick
Leticia P.

Service was mediocre; waitress unfriendly and not welcoming. Rolled her eyes a couple of times as I seen her do it to several paying customers. Sushi quality was on the lower end. Crab sticks tasted old and dried out. Their sushi had more rice compared to others. Limited appetizers to choose from for AYCE. Small scoop of ice cream for dessert.0

A solid AYCE choice for NW Reno Right next to squeeze in. Great staff, a little dark inside Might be good for date night! Yum

Rice less sushi with cucumber wrap--yum yum!

I had my meal delivered by grub hub, so I can't speak on ambience, but the to go containers were sturdy styrofoam, and chopsticks, napkins, and soy sauce provided. The most incredible dish on the menu, the "rice less sushi"!! I eat mostly keto, so this was music to my ears. It was heaven with a cucumber wrapper! Thank you sushi 7 for a yummy rice free dinner.

the food here is delicious i definitely recommend the all you can eat lunch special but be warned don't order too much lol! the service here amazing the staff are so kind, and i love the vibes of this place great music

Awesome sushi in northwest Reno, that was a bit further out of my normal south Reno bubble. I'm so glad that friends wanted to meet up here because it was delicious!! The service was top notch and the sushi was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place as a solid sushi experience and will absolutely be back!

Philly and macho long rolls

Decided to hit up one of our favorite and most consistent all you can eat sushi spots in Reno. The salmon here is quality, buttery soft. I typically start with some salmon nigiri. The rolls are well balanced, i went with the philly and macho. The employees are great and the restaurant is always clean. Other items i recommend.. LuLu long roll, Wayne's hand roll, calamari rings, mussels

One of my foodie coworkers recommended Kauboi Izakaya and I was intrigued. I much prefer izakaya…read morerestaurants to sushi restaurants. I love the tapas style dishes with flavor-packed bites. We came in around 7:00 and the place was packed. The hostess told us that it would be a 20 minute wait, so we stopped in next door to Sierra Nevada Chocolates for gelato. We didn't have the chance to finish our scoops before I got a phone call letting me know our table was ready. I love myself a good cold soba noodle dish and this one did not disappoint. Cold veggies and savory sauce tossed with nutty buckwheat noodles. I could have eaten an entire serving of this, but my bf was in town and we split our dishes. The rice tots were unique. Crispy rice and a sweet slightly spicy dragon sauce. I love tater tots, I love spicy tuna on crispy rice, so I knew the rice tots would be a good pick. The mushroom croquettes were my favorite of the night. The ooey gooey creamy rich filling was so flavorful and the mushrooms added a meatiness, while the panko coated crust was perfectly crisp. It was a texturally pleasing dish. The gyozas were tender little pockets with a flavorful shrimp filling and I'm a sucker for chili crisp. Another great dish. Our server was just okay. I couldn't tell if he was awkward or a pretentious hipster. Dishes came out one at a time, but with good timing. Basically, as soon as we were done another would arrive. Inside was dark, loud and crowded with a 90s playlist. We normally hate crowds and waiting for tables, but we both agreed to come back.

Came back with some friends from Vegas and we ordered the following:…read more Ordered: - Tokyo Fried Chicken Thigh and Spicy Mayo: This is so good! It's perfectly crisp 5/5 - Hamachi and Asian Pear and Aji Amarillo: fish is fresh, pear is good, and the cubed soy sauce all work surprisingly well together 5/5 - Ten layer Pork Tonkatsu and Black garlic: I love the hint of wasabi flavor, but you don't actually feel the spiciness of it. 5/5 - Chicken Skin Skewers: very crispy and thin on the outside and soft on the inside. 5/5 - Chicken Thigh Skewers: the chicken is not dry at all and the green onions helps bring out the flavor more 5/5 - Bone Broth ramen: pork is great, but the noodles, and broth tastes like a wonton soup . The egg yolk tasted different 3/5 - Battleship: the fries are thin and crispy which I love. The cheese balls and meat are good. The curry is good and it should come with a bowl of rice 5/5 - Gyoza: it's more a dumpling, a little too acidic but the meat is very flavorful 4/5 There was no wait this time on a Friday evening. I feel like the music is still too loud, but I enjoy the environment. The staff are always attentive and quick. This was a much better experience, than the first time I came here. However, the prices are still high for the amount of food served.

I was immediately excited when I found it on Yelp, and it exceeded my expectations. The restaurant is hidden away - you won't see it from the outside - and you have to head downstairs inside the building. It has a cool, speakeasy kind of vibe that feels very intimate and secluded. We were a party of two and lucked out with a last-minute cancellation. We didn't realize reservations were needed, but we will definitely be calling ahead next time! We were welcomed by Micaiah, who served us and turned the meal into a whole experience. We learned that her family owns the restaurant, and I saw all of them helping out. I've never been to a shabu shabu spot that felt so intimate and personal. We chatted a lot with Micaiah and her dad - they are just lovely, personable people who made our visit that much more special. We ordered the prime beef cut and the Wagyu, which were both great paired with their sauces, broth, and fresh veggies. Our first bite was what they called a "family" bite, and it was chef's kiss! The shoyu sauce was the best I've had. We finished with ice cream and a matcha cheesecake, which was light and not too sweet. At the end of the meal, they pack up your leftover food, broth, plus an additional broth concentrate to take home or eat there. Having that the next morning hit and was delicious. I left this restaurant with a full belly and a full heart. It's easily the best dining experience I've had in the area, and I can't wait to go back!

I wasn't sure what the Cerviche roll would be like, but all the flavors really came together. My husband had the poke bowl and you can select the fish. He chose rainbow and the portion size was good as well as the toppings. Especially for the $14.99 price. One of the desert choices is fried tempera banana with ice cream, which was a hit with my daughter. Service was good. The restaurant is nice and clean. There is a fair amount of bar seating. We were missing the spicy tuna hand roll and salmon skin hand roll from our first round, but everything else came out. The miso soup was also really good, while the mussels and seaweed salad were just OK and could use a little more flavor. Service was good, and the ambience was nice. Just a heads-up, Saturdays or weekend can get pretty packed and orders may take a while, so I'd recommend visiting on a weekday if you can. 5/5 for me!
