I loved my experience here ! Started with the pretzel to start. They give you 3 dipping sauces that are all phenomenal! I enjoyed the friendly staff . I didn't feel rushed or forgotten so that really meant allot. They have very unique features on the wall with great little lamps on each table. Really sets the vibe the deserts were my favorite part!! Especially the chocolate cake
We have wanted to try Edelweiss for a while and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant was cozy yet bright. The bench seats could have used a bit more of padding however. Our server was friendly and attentive. To drink we had a Hofbraü beer and a glass of bubbles. They both were excellent and exactly as we expected. At the end of the meal I had a white chocolate espresso martini. I was disappointed with the martini. This tasted flavorless like water and lacked any essence of espresso martini. To eat we did the cheese plate. We added beer cheese to our order for the pretzel. Holy cow! This cheese board was so large, not to mention delicious! The cheeses and meats were diverse and flavorful. The plate also came with artichoke hearts and pickles which provided a refreshing acidity to the plate. The pretzel was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and lightly salted. I am very picky about pretzels (to the point where I don't eat them) and this was my favorite! This was the most delicious pretzel I have ever ate. The cheese plate also came with a delicious stone ground mustard, what seemed to be a lingonberry jam, and the beer cheese we added. The lingonberry jam which was out of this world and the beer cheese was complex and flavorful. I have my eye on a couple of the pizzas so I definitely will be back soon for another meal (and pretzel).
Had lunch here with my husband, the food and service were okay! Presentation of the food is lovely. I would say price point wise I expected better quality food, although I am pretty picky about schnitzel, so I'd give their Jaeger schnitzel a 2/5, the meat was really tough and thick in mine, Kase spatzle was delicious, and mushroom gravy was good not great. My husband had a similar experience, he didn't like the schnitzel, (also very tough) but loved the fries! We have been spoiled on really good schnitzel though so probably are biased! Very nice seating and ambiance! Just not the best food I've ever had. I would try it again, but would not recommend getting schnitzel here.
Very niche food in Reno, love to experience flavor profiles from all over the world. Out of the two options of schnitzel we got I would say the best one in my opinion is the Jagerschnitzel. The mushroom gravy really adds flavor and ties in nicely with the pork. The potato salad was delicious. I'd say that plate was a great combination. My Belgian fries were super crispy and soft in the inside. And the wings were a nice addition. They were tart and the curry came through nicely. Great service, the waitress was very nice and friendly, and a nice casual vibe. The winter decor adds a "homey" nostalgic fun element.
For tonight's date night, my wife got to choose where to eat. Years ago, she would often choose the Bavarian house downtown Reno, but it has been closed for years. My wife's mother was raised in Bavaria. So my wife does get a hankering for German style food. We did not have reservations, we just showed up. The restaurant was fairly full, but there still was enough tables that we got sat immediately. As we walked in, there was live music. That was a nice surprise. A guy with a guitar sitting on a stool. It took quite a while for the girl to come back and get our drink order. Somewhere between 10 minutes and 15 minutes. We probably should've ordered our food when she took our drink order. Took another 10 minutes for the drinks to get to the table. I told the waitress sweetie we're ready to order right away. What we ordered: Snitch martini Whiskey, old fashion The schnitzel with Belgian fries Goulash with bread Apple strudel Apricot/chocolate cake The food arrived surprisingly fast. My wife liked the goulash but the small dish it was served in was half full. As for the veal schnitzel, it was good, however, small. It was pounded pretty thin, and the coating was pretty thick. So even though the flavor was good, it was hard to tell what kind of meat it was. The lingonberry jam and the brussels sprouts/pancetta topping was actually pretty good. Definitely liked the fries. The description of the bar was like a ski lodge, and this was definitely the vibe we got. It was cute and comfortable. Overall, a pretty enjoyable evening, though my wife and I both agreed that it was over-priced. A small bowl of stew, a small schnitzel with french fries, two cocktails and two desserts for about $106 before tip. But again, though the portions were small they were delicious. This coupled with an Un-attentive waitress made it 3 stars.
First visit here while working in the area, didn't have the opportunity to try a bunch of different stuff but my schnitzel was EPIC! Great fries as well. I plan on coming back with my family as soon as possible
Came here for apps and drinks the other night and was not disappointed. We got fries, and pretzel, and spinach and artichoke dip and all of them were delicious. The pretzel comes with cheese, mustard, and honey (which is a shockingly good dip). The spinach and artichoke dip came with crostinis and once we ran out of those, I ate the rest with fries. We were sat outside by the fire which was delightful and served by a waitress that didn't check on us too much or too little which I always enjoy. Definitely worth a stop when you're out at Summit!!
My new favorite go to in South Reno for Pizza. We sat at the bar and the manager served us, super friendly and quick. Cool ski lodge like ambience. We had a pizza called the Honeybear, and it was literally mind blowing.

First time visiting Edelweiss Pizza Pub and it definitely won't be my last. Everything we tried was delicious--from the pizza to the drinks, which were such a pleasant surprise. You can tell a lot of care and quality goes into the food, and each bite was full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made our first visit even better. Edelweiss is a wonderful local gem, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more!
Another wonderful meal at Edelweiss! We stopped in for an early dinner on Black Friday, seeking to avoid those crowds & relax. Love the atmosphere, and the service is always friendly. Chicken schnitzel with potatoes & red cabbage, spatzel, potato salad, and for dessert, we split a Saltzberg sundae. Very yummy - ice cream topped with lingonberry preserves, candied pecans, and a chocolate drizzle. Try it!
Had drinks and appetizers here to celebrate my friends birthday Very warm inviting vibe. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with a holiday spirit! Live music really enhanced the evening. The pretzel appetizer was delicious! It was an enormous pretzel with three different sauces. The honey ,mustard and a cheese sauce were served with it. The mustard was delicious! We also ordered the Goulash which was served with a yummy spaetzel. The meat was tender, juicy and full of flavor that was mixed with a dollop of sour cream. I love the ski town vibe when you walk in. They always have fun things on the TV and at this time of the season, showcasing, beautiful winter sceneries with snow capped mountains. The beer menu has some excellent German beers. I enjoyed the half Hefeweizen. We also really wanted a dirty martini, the bartender was nice enough to make some fresh blue cheese olives, which really tied the drink together and showcased the outstanding service. Schnitzel sandwich is absolutely amazing. It's crunchy and with a delicious sauce and is perfectly paired with the fresh made fries and multiple dipping sauces. This is our first time having the clams and we absolutely loved it. They're steamed in beer and put together with tomatoes in the sauce, which sounds kind of strange, but it is absolutely delicious and it's a must try if you enjoy clams. We had an awesome date night here and we will definitely be back

Every time I've been the food has been delicious, the servers are phenomenal. We had an issue with a plate, and our server made sure to fix it and went above and beyond. The interior of the restaurant is cozy for winter, but a great mix of spring vibes that makes it great in summer! Personal favorites are their brat and their weiner schnitzel salad. I've been craving to go back since I had it! Perfect mix of crunch, and great leafery! read more

Tried dinner and drinks at Edelweiss for that Oktoberfest vibe and had a great experience. Small establishment with lovely ambiance, we were greeted/seated quickly and locked in our orders; starting with a big old glass of beer and pumpkin cheesecake martini. Both excellent. On to appetizers. The biggest, freshest pretzel, hot out of the oven with a trio of amazing sauces. Brussels sprouts au gratin: Brussels sprouts baked in béchamel sauce with parmesan and proscuitto, topped with toasted bread crumbs. Had to try the schnitzel: Crispy fried pork cutlet with lemon, onion applesauce and lingonberry jam, served with braised red cabbage and killer Belgian fries. Yum!!! Loved this spot and plan to return for casual drinks/apps or comfort food when the weather gets chilly. read more
The only unfortunate thing was that we were still a little full when we went here. So we only had the meat and cheese board, but that by itself is very filling. Instead of a normal charcuterie board, it is nicely arranged around a pretzel, which was lightly salted. I don't know the exact type of cheeses they used, but all of them worked really well together. My favorite part was that the mustard seemed homemade. I'm not a big mustard fan, but i can be convinced if it's as homemade and tasty as this! The interior is nice and cozy, definitely giving European-lodge vibes. But still casual enough to feel like an upscale pub. They have more options I'm excited about like their Tyrolean-style pizza that I definitely have to try! read more

First, I'm here. Well, it wasn't very busy. I was impressed. Outdoor seating nice indoors pretty nice menu. The service was great. I had a pork schnitzel sandwich and my niece had a honey pizza. Both were excellent. Although it wasn't very busy, my niece says it gets very crowded at night Looking forward to going again read more
Casual establishment serving both Austrian food and pizza. Nice beer and wine selection plus full bar. Good portions and friendly staff. One screen over the bar shows sports while another has scenes from the Alps. Six of us were all pleased with food and drinks. read more
Honest dine in experience: 5/5 love this restaurant and the unique flavors that they bring to South Reno. Review from the last 2 times I've been here: tap in below Service is always on point with the team at edelweiss. Been a fan of this establishment since the first bite and I'll be back for more. It's always a warm environment where you feel like you're walking down the street for an ale. It's something you have to experience for being located in a mall like Summit. Entree reviews: -Veal Schnitzel: 4/5 Hear me out.... Go with the regular schnitzel, the tenderness with the veal goes a long way with a flavor that's complimented strongly with the pair of the pork jowl and Brussel sprouts, but you can't go wrong with a traditional schnitzel. This dish, while delicious, left me wanting what would be a traditional bite of lingon berries and an ale. The serving size is smaller than a regular sized schnitzel and it's good, I just would have to say that if you're wanting a unique experience, this is the dish you'd want. Paired it with the kasespaetzle which both alone I'm sure would have been better than paired together. Delicious as a meal, but pretty heavy together. If you're hungry for a dish that's rich and full of flavor, try this combination. It's a one and done for me. -Tafelspitz: 5/5 (comfort go to for cold weather) If you're into comfort food, then you'll definitely appreciate this dish. Growing up, you know that dish your parents would make when you were sick? This meal will take you to memories not yet tapped into that I'm sure someone else is sharing with you... from a creamy apple horseradish topped meal, when it combines with the sauerkraut, you get a flavor that sends you out of this country. Savory, sweet in a sense, but not too sweet, you get a bite of the horseradish that is like a nibble that grabs onto your tongue. Will recommend for anyone who wants a good eat! read more

My Brother and Sister-in-Law were visiting and brought them here for dinner. My Sister-in-Law is from Austria and wanted to get her take on some of the more traditional food served, so we ordered several dishes to share. For starters, we ordered a Pretzel with Beer Cheese Sauce, Honey and Seeded Mustard. The Beer Cheese Sauce was really good and the Pretzel was very fresh...SO GOOD! (I would stop by just for a Pretzel and a drink.) We followed-up with an order of the Käsespäetzle, Schnitzel, Tafelspitz and the Goulash & Späetzle. Everything was so tasty and my Sister-in-Law was really happy with all of the food. I enjoyed the variety of ingredients and flavors. The meat in the Tafelspitz was so tender...it was just cooked to perfection! So, the food was very good, but as far as drinks, we were a little disappointed. Which is why I gave a 4/5 stars. There were absolutely no Austrian Beers to try. Also, my Sister-in-Law recommended I try the Stiegl Grapefruit Radler and although it was on the menu, it wasn't available. The service was very good and our server was attentive and friendly. The restaurant also feels very warm and the decor relates to everything Austria. My Sister-in-Law was even able to identify a picture from the region where she grew-up. All in all, we had a wonderful time and it was great to treat them to such a wonderful dining experience. read more
First time experience at Edelweiss and I wish I had come sooner! Nice getaway out of the heat. Enjoyed a refreshing ginger cider and the honey bear pizza was delicious. Service was superb. Prompt and pleasant. Love the quiet, intimate venue. Can't wait to come back for some ethnic specialties! read more
Spontaneously stopped in because the menu seemed interesting, but left feeling a bit disappointed overall. The service seemed very slow for the two items we ordered: side of Belgian fries and the schnitzel salad (note: there were multiple open tables when we were there). The fries are a really unique shape and were overall tasty. The salad was a lot smaller than expected for $24. Both the schnitzel on the salad and the fries were lukewarm and should have been hotter. The salad was good overall, but feels like there should have been more to it for the price point. It is a cute little restaurant with a definite Alpine feel and we might have just ordered the wrong thing, but it did not live up to our expectations. read more
we came here for a date night & had a great time! we ordered a handful of different appetizers, including the soft pretzel, the belgian fries, and the spinach artichoke dip that was a special that night! i got the coconut guava margarita and it was amazing! we waited quite a long time to get our bill, but our host and server were so friendly! read more
Outstanding in every aspect! I'm VERY familiar with this location, having worked for the previous owners (who had a completely different concept/restaurant) for well over 2 years playing live music for them weekly. When the new ownership group came in, there were mixed reviews at the outset...I guess you could call them minor "growing pains"...which every new restaurant goes through...so it took me a while to get to the south end of town to visit. It's off my beaten path, since I live in Sparks, but I'm very pleased that I made the time to drop in because this place very quickly outgrew their beginnings and is now operating at a very high level. I always have to remind myself of one of my cardinal rules...if there's mixed reviews, go see for yourself! I'm SO glad that I did. I've been here multiple times...this establishment has solidified everything they do to present a high quality experience for their clientele across the board. The ownership, management and staff are all top notch...friendly, courteous, personable, welcoming and efficient in every phase of service. The ambiance is beautiful...they've completely changed the feel of the place to a Tyrolean style ski chalet, with décor to accent that feel...and their upgrade of the patio area has completely changed that space...for the better! I'm also now playing live music here on a regular basis for the new ownership. I've brought my Polka Party Band...First Take OomPah...here for their annual Oktoberfest celebration 2 years running since they opened and started doing the event. WHAT A PARTY!! Delicious food and a fabulous selection of German beers in a great outdoor setting with live music of every sort all afternoon long and into the evening. The staff dresses in traditional dirndl and lederhosen to set the tone for this event. Joined a group of friends for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed Eidelweiss. To start off their decor and ambience inside is really cool. Friends were already there and server was quick to attend to people as they arrived. Since we were a group I got to try a couple different things. To start off there was pretzel and goulash going around the table and both were very tasty. Once we got there we ordered the fries, curry and ketchup wings, and honey bear pizza. The fries were probably one of my favorite things I had. The were cut in an interesting that made them neither to thin nor too thick and had a lot of surface area to have a great crunch outside and soft inside. The wings were tasty and since I am a fan of curry and like other curry wings I did enjoy them. The pizza was super tasty, well cooked and the sweet and savory aspects were perfect. read more

I really enjoy the cozy ski chalet ambiance at Edelweiss, it's very well decorated and a cross between a Swiss mountain chalet and modern hipster bar. The food is on the pricier end we paid $80 for two entrees and a beer! The goulash and spaetzle was a hearty, filling dish. The beef was super tender and the sauce was finger licking good. The schnitzel was good as well very thin and nicely breaded, if not a little bit small portion wise. The dessert really let us down it tasted very much like a store bought chocolate cake your grandma would serve you, nothing like the sachertortes I had when visiting Austria none of the depth of flavor or richness. We walked by the place by our hotel and wanted to try and it was the best spontaneous decision!! The indoor decor was cozy and modern. I immediately feel welcome walking in. The menu was easy to read and I quickly found what I want. I love sausage, pretzels and schnitzel. I got all of them and I'm super impressed. Everything was delicious and the presentation of each plate made it even tastier. People are friendly here and we definitely will come back! read more
Edelweiss Pizza Pub Pastries was a really enjoyable dinner experience for us. The decor immediately stood out--warm, comfortable, and very pleasing to the eye. It felt inviting without being stuffy, and the staff were friendly, which set a great tone for the evening. We kicked things off with Hofbräu Lager (of course), which was served alongside the cucumber salad. The salad had a nice tang to it, and while it leaned a bit sharp, we still cleaned the plate. For dinner, I ordered the Jägerschnitzel with Belgian fries, and my husband went with the Schnitzel and fingerlings. From my perspective, the Jägerschnitzel felt more reimagined than traditional. It was good, just different from the Jägerschnitzel I've had while traveling in Munich. Not a negative--just a variation worth noting. The Belgian fries, however, were a standout and definitely a hit. The red cabbage, however, was surprisingly tasteless, which was a bit unexpected given how flavorful the rest of the meal was. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. Overall, we left happy with both the food and the service. It is a bit on the pricey side, but not enough to complain given the quality, atmosphere, and experience. We really enjoyed the food, the service, and the cozy, welcoming decor, and we'd happily return. read more

We stopped in for an impromptu lunch while in that area of town. We were greeted by a less than enthusiastic woman who eventually warmed up a little bit. But she definitely gave the place an authentic feel in terms of an 'angry German' (yes, I know it's an Austrian restaurant, but everybody knows at least one angry German, so the reference makes more sense considering they're both part of the DACH region). On the bright side, this space is so fun! The location, decor, & vibe overall - it is all very cool. We ordered the cucumber salad, goulash poutine, bratwurst with fries, veal schnitzel with kasespaetzle, and an affogato & apple strudel for dessert. Here's what I have to say about each and every item we ordered - DELICIOUS! I'm not native to Austria, so certainly cannot speak in terms of how true to their culture the food is. However, I know good food when I taste it, and this is it! The cucumber salad is nice thin slices of whole cucumber with what you would expect for marinade - rice vinegar, a little sugar, some dill and onions. It is delicious. The goulash poutine is decadent, flavorful, and filling. It is a healthy (totally NOT legit healthy, but BIG) sized bowl of their Belgian fries (steak fries that are spiral cut & seasoned) topped with beef goulash, cheddar cheese, beer cheese, and a large dollop of sour cream on top. This is on the 'small plates' menu. Don't be fooled. There's nothing small about it. Then we tried the beer braised bratwurst on a pretzel bun with Belgian fries. Fries came sans all of the additional toppings on this plate. The bratwurst was perfectly cooked, with a nice snap when you bit into it. The pretzel bun was soft and chewy and able to withstand all of the mustard, sauerkraut, caramelized onions & aioli that topped the brat. While much more complex than the brats we enjoyed while visiting Austria & Germany, it was a win on the flavor scale. They added all the things you love to taste with your brat. The veal schnitzel......YES! It helps that we went with the kasespaetzle for the side on this. You can actually order a cup of their kasespaetzle from the small plate menu, which you should do if you decide you would rather get the potato salad with your schnitzel (apparently a more traditional side for schnitzel). The veal schnitzel was perfection for me. Breading light and crispy (like panko breading) - perfectly fried to golden. It. Was. DELICIOUS. The kasespaetzle is stupid good. Egg noodles smothered in cheesy goodness with pieces of prosciutto scattered about and topped with crispy onions...seriously drool worthy. It's one of those cheese spinner dishes, when you pull your fork up from grabbing a bite and have to give the cheese a whirl to get all the stringy goodness wrapped up on your fork. Last, but not least, the apple strudel with a vanilla sauce. They added raisins, which is one of those foods that gives me trust issues (is it a chocolate chip or is it one of those nasty rotting grapes?!), but they were few & far between, which allowed me to avoid them entirely and let the apple steal the show. Bottom line? Make it a point to hit this place. It is SO GOOD. No doubt a dinner there would be a blast, with all the fun decor & lighting in the space. Regardless of when you go, you're in for a flavorful treat. read more
I've liked this place ever since they held a pub run. I'll come just to chill and eat their freaking delicious fries while my girl goes shopping. And you e got to wash them down with 2 or 3 crux nitro stouts. The food and staff are bomb too. This is the type of place I'll order stuff I'm not familiar with bc it's all really good. read more
Tonight, we went to dinner at place called Edelweiss Pub which was Austrian themed food and everything that we ordered was delicious and freshly prepared. The Bloody Mary was especially good, made from a house made recipe and included a generous amount of candied bacon which was amazing. We ordered the meat and cheese board as an appetizer, we had expected the brat sausages to be served warm, but they were served cold. The assorted cheeses and large German pretzel was amazing. I ordered the goulash and spaetzle dish which was amazing. My partner ordered the beer braised bratwurst and enjoyed that as well. My only regret was that we were too full to order dessert as the black forest cake sounded amazing. Our server was excellent and extremely attentive. read more
Came in on a Friday to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, all the servers are so nice and the music was wonderful! The Friday night music is excellent! The restaurant was decorated for the holidays and made for a warm and festive atmosphere. It was so much fun! Definitely one of my favorite places in Reno. read more
