Biscotti's Cafe located inside Peppermill Resort is my favorite spot for breakfast while staying there. A casual dining, the café offers an all day menu. We went easy with some eggs overeasy or summer sided, coffee, wheat toasts and chicken apple sausages. I like their toasts, slightly dipped or sprayed in butter but still crispy. Our server, who I forgot his name, came from the Phillipines, was very professional and detail oriented. Staying at Peppermill and decided to try this place for dinner, but unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. The girl taking our order was extremely rude and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. I explained that my daughter and I have a gluten allergy and asked if they had a gluten-free menu or if she could tell us what could be made gluten free. She said everything was marked, but after already reviewing the menu, I let her know nothing was clearly labeled. She then responded that she didn't think anything was gluten-free then. I asked to speak with a manager, she went to get her, but instead she came back and, very rudely, told us the manager said our only option was a burger without a bun or pasta. The manager never came out to speak with us directly. Biscotti's food and coffee is less than average. We went to the counter outside of the cafe and ordered to go. The breakfast sandwich I received was overcooked and the coffee was not flavorful. Brought some out of town guests for a light dinner last night. Service was mediocre. Server took 4 of 5 orders and then started to walk away without taking my husbands order. We split 1 app, 1 flatbread and an order of tacos. Somehow the meal came to $144. The app was just okay "sliders" the flatbread was good and really big but the tacos were completely cold which makes no sense. I enjoy biscotti's at the Peppermill. When you can't figure out exactly what you're in the mood for, their menu gives a lot of cultural leeway. Happened to pop in here on superbowl Sunday and that turned out to be a fun choice. The casino itself was packed with people representing many team favorites. Lots of Super Bowl vibe! Decided to try the calamari and a chop salad. Great choice although I noticed a lack of volume of certain salad toppings to include blue cheese, avocado and tomatoes. Small/teeny diced tomatoes and avocados spread out to give an impression of more but was a miss for me. I asked for an extra large side of blue cheese which our waitress was more than happy to facilitate. When it came, it was a perfect serving for this salad size. Made a big difference. Thank you! The calamari was absolutely delicious. I don't often order calamari but it was a great choice and treat! My lunch mate ordered the Bahn Mi and it was pretty amazing. The bread, although not truly traditional bahn mi bread was a great alternative. Had a nice crunch and not too densely bready, if that makes sense? The pickled veg was copious and delish! The beef was smoky and perfect! The fun thing about dining in a casino restaurant is that no matter what time it is, it's always cocktail time! I'm currently staying at the Peppermill Resort and stopped by for a bite at Biscotti's twice: My first experience was lackluster -- I had the Asian Lettuce Wraps (without the chicken) and their Impossible Burger. The wraps were flavorful but the mushroom to water chestnut and rice noodle ratio was off...way too many mushrooms and/or they were sliced much too large. The burger was a total disappointment -- the patty was burnt, the bun seemed old, the pickles didn't have any flavor at all, and the lack of condiments was disheartening. My second experience was better, thankfully -- I had the Caprese Sandwich, which was quite tasty as well as a Mocha, which was very good as well. read more

Only ate dinner there during our stay but the Prime Rib Dip was the reason we kept coming back. Thinly sliced meat and the Au Jus sauce is mouth watering and leave you wanting to come back again. Was very accommodating and double checked with chef about having GF limitations and was able to give me confidence that it was safe to dine with them. This was amazing. Seriously, one of the best gelato's I have ever had. Anywhere (in the world). The taste had a rich chocolatey taste but not too bitter and not too sweet. The texture was a touch airy but with a creamy finish. The temperature was absolute perfection. The gelato was cold but not so cold you needed a sledge hammer to eat it. The steaks served here are generally of high quality, though you may not have a consistent cooking temperature as there were times I asked for a medium steak and was served medium rare. Salads and soups were always good and the service was polite and friendly, always keeping on top of filling your water glass or bringing you extra dressing. Tried out this spot in the Peppermill Hotel since I was staying here for a work conference. I tempered my expectations since some in hotel dining can be a bit hit or miss but I really enjoyed my time dining here! Their menu has a lot of variety but I settled on the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken which was about $35. It was a bit pricey but once I got the dish I was impressed with the quality and portion. The noodles were good, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and they gave a lot of chicken, which was very well done as well. We were a party of 9 and all of us just liked our food! My friend Marsha ordered her favorite again - crab melt on salad; can't get her to change her mind. Salmon on Caesar was superb, Joe loved it healthy! I had my favorite Banh Mi sandwich which was so tasty. Not typical as there's more meat than vegetables but I am not complaining! The watermelon salad complemented the rich sandwich flavor. Randy got the beef short ribs stroganoff pasta - the meat was very tender, plenty mushroom flavor. To be honest, we did not expect much being that this was inside of the hotel, but it was quite a pleasant surprise to have a really great experience. The staff here were friendly and very accommodating. I have Alpha Gal meaning that I am highly allergic to mammalian products (dairy, red meat, gelatin,etc). They were highly considerate and understanding. They worked with a chef to make sure I got something safe for me. And what they created it was quite delicious which often is not the case when things are adjusted. My husband also really enjoyed his meal too. Also, it's important to know that we were arriving close to closing time and instead of rushing us off, they were extremely friendly and assured us to take our time. Not only the sauce was very watered down, lacking in flavor, but to my surprise they only served us with 1 piece of bread each. First time in the resort. I decided to come with my family at this breakfast place and it all started great. The servers assistant /Busser came with waters and took our drink order, we got our drinks right away and then the servers assistant PAulina came to take our order. It was a party of 13. I ordered steak and eggs , told her to make sure the cooks cook the steak medium rare (because I know how steak sometimes ican come out over cook), she said ok, food came 40 minutes later , my steak was well done, she took it back. We requested coffee . She brought cold coffee , never got refills after that, she never came back, I wasted to order another mismosa and a michelada but it never happened., she never seemed like she actually care about us not getting what we needed. I'm aware she can be busy but at least once she should off a check on us to see if we needed anything else after we got out food. My granddaughter said it was the best French Toast. I had the two eggs, fruit, sourdough toast and a ham steak which was quite large. I couldn't finish eating it and had to get a 'human box'. Our other granddaughter had the Avocado Toast and instead of a poached egg, had it fried. She ate the whole thing. Our youngest grandson had the children's waffle and bacon. I was seated right away and greeted quickly by my server, Jamie L. She took my drink order for iced tea, and I ordered when she returned. I ordered the chopped salad (hold the bacon) with Ranch and a side of ciabatta rolls (Rosemary-parmesan-garlic). The food arrived very quickly. The rolls were steamy hot, very soft, and freshly herbed, while the salad was fresh and in a chilled bowl--the way it should be! The chopped salad featured a plank of Parmesan Tuile--grated and baked parmesan cheese. Everything was tasty, and Jamie was attentive enough to check in and ensure the iced tea was filled. We ordered the Chicken Biscotti Melt w/watermelon salad, Chicken Piccata and Ribeye. The melt was delicious! Chicken was cooked perfectly, it had a good layer of avocado and the aoili complimented the sandwich beautifully. The sourdough was crunchy and had great flavor. I was really excited about the watermelon salad, but it was so underwhelming. The watermelon wasn't ripe at all, the jicama was super dry and there was little to no strawberry. The piccata was just alright and had a hint of lemon. The bottom of the bowl had a pool of butter/oil and was a bit off putting. We barely put a dent in the pasta and wouldn't reorder it especially for the price. The ribeye was cooked to order and covered in sauce, but was a little tough and almost dry. It wasn't well seasoned and had a strong "meat" flavor. However, the veges were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were great. Soft in the inside and crispy on the outside. Pricing is pretty high with entrées starting at $20+ for basic items and the service was somewhat lacking. The sandwich melt was $22, the Piccata was $35 and the Ribeye was $46 not including tip/tax. For the cost of each entree, we were hoping for a more positive and memorable experience, but left disappointed. read more
