Cute bakery that serves a modest menu of healthy brunch and lunch options alongside its baked goods. This location is located within a larger boutique retail center with ample free parking. Service is good - nothing particularly notable to the upside or downside. The few times I've been, they are perpetually back-to-back busy so it really feels like an overall efficient operation (if not a bit too efficient). The inside is gorgeous - tons of open light and high vaulted ceilings. A really comfortable space. Expect a line when you go, I've never not seen a line when I've gone. Food is good, not blow-you-away, but consistent and fresh. The real money is in the baked goods and boy are they expensive. Prepare to pay up, but good when you really want to treat yourself!
Not only do they have great pastries that are house made, they also have breakfast and lunch! They do get busy so if the seating on the inside is too much they have more seating on the outside! A great place to bring friends and enjoy some coffee.
Was recommended by a colleague and twas a good rec! We ordered the vanilla crème brute koig amann and the chocolate croissant were both delicious. Wanted to get the cinnamon roll but they ran out. We arrived at 11am sadly. My favorite drink from has to be the espresso cold foam. I'm normally not a foam kind of guy, but this was delicious! Might be too sweet for you if you're a black coffee drinker though.
Took my oldest daughter out on a fancy date lunch and we shared the BRULEED CROISSANT FRENCH TOAST and the GRAIN BOWl. Both were absolutely delicious. All the different elements to the grain bowl were perfect and the french toast was absolutely unlike anything we have ever had. While we loved both things I don't think we can do that too often as it was $20 for one slice of french toast and $24 for the salad which was much smaller then I had anticipated. We were still hungry after. We enjoyed the patio and sitting outside, the staff were friendly and helpful. Nice to support a local spot and will come back again.
Wasn't the best experience. I was excited to celebrate after completing documents across the street at the title company. There was a line, which was taking forever. When we finally got to the register we found out why the line was taking forever and why people who had also been in line forever were looking at the menu and making choices at the register. They were out of an apparently popular item, the smash burger. They had so many employees milling around, yet nobody could mark the menus with a post it note, or say something,/anthing to all the people in line, indicating they were out of burgers. Even more upsetting, there was a big lazy slow fly wandering around in the pastries. If they are going to leave the back doors open, maybe an open pastry case isn't the best idea.
Everything is always great! Love this spot for fresh, healthy, and delicious food. The grain bowl had really yummy veggies. Chicken, cheese, and lots of tasty ingredients. Fresh and healthy. The potatoes were nice and crispy. No photo, but their banana bread was crunchy on the outside and super moist and had awesome banana flavor. Compliments to the kitchen, they prepared everything perfectly. Great service, the staff is professional and polite.
We thought we would stop him here after my eye doctor's appointment and we are so amazed how cool it is inside here pastries counter and then you can order full breakfast scrumptious coffee. It was amazing. We had a great time chatted with people in line and the service was wonderful. If you're ever south of town, you need to stop into this yummy little hidden Oasis. Try their freshly baked pastry breads cookies and have lunch or breakfast. We really enjoyed ourselves
This is a lovely cafe but the service I received was pretty poor. When you first walk in, you'll notice that it is a big open concept space with seating, and a small shop setup in the front. For the shop part, there's some baked goods and sort of deli items you can purchase--almost like a little market. For their restaurant portion, you'll actually have to order at the register and get a number. You can also order the baked items to enjoy at the counter. There were so many unique baked items that looked delicious. As my friend and I awaited to order, we looked over the menu. Prices seemed to be as expected for a place that looks this pretty. When I got to one of the female cashiers, she was not very friendly. She did not smile the whole time, and she made it seem like I was inconveniencing her from the get go, even though I had my order ready to go and I greeted her with a smile. I went ahead and ordered a crispy brunch potatoes and subbed the bacon for the mushroom which is noted to be the vegetarian option; she did have to quickly clarify whether I wanted to add mushrooms vs subbing, so I clarified. I also tried to order a latte with oat milk with their brown butter marzipan house syrup. She was trying to enter the drink order to the tablet and told me that she didn't have the brown butter marzipan button to select on her tablet and that they had brown sugar cinnamon. She tried to explain to me that brown sugar cinnamon and brown butter marzipan are the same. I was very confused by that comment, as that's not true, otherwise why are they separate names/labels? She asked if I wanted to get brown sugar cinnamon instead, and I told her no thanks, and asked to cancel the drink order. When I'm trying a new restaurant, I want to try the unique options. She then gave me a questioning, "are you serious" look, and confirmed if I wanted to cancel, and I said yes. Then I went ahead and paid, she didn't even say 'thank you' to close off, and wish I didn't tip her for that poor service...she wasn't even waiting my table... I don't expect service workers to chat me up, and all I expected was a "hi, what can I get for you?", "We don't have that, would you like something else?", and "Thank you." and also she should have either tried to figure out if 'brown butter marzipan' is in stock and that the button is just not on the tablet from a more senior staff member. It's on the menu, and I can get if you might be out of stock. Her overall reasoning just made it seem like she was being dishonest. I can't believe she tried to tell me essentially cinnamon and marzipan are the same with a bad attitude to top it all off. My friend also saw this interaction and was also frustrated by this experience. She noted that it seemed this lady's coworker noticed this poor interaction from the get go and that they seemed to try to compensate by giving friendlier service to my friend. I did notice later that this particular female cashier was smiling and friendly to other customers, so I have no idea what the problem was. I actually ended up going to the Perenn market that's located in the next building over and they did have brown butter marzipan syrup. I also told them about the above incident and they were unsure of the brown butter marzipan stock in the restaurant and were confused by how the cashier lady's comment how cinnamon and marzipan are the same, and they apologized for it even though they didn't have to. The person who served us our food was friendly. Later when I went to ask for a to-go box from a different cashier lady, this person was very friendly and accommodating. Other than that, portions seemed pretty large. I would say the crispy brunch potatoes were crispy as noted, adequately salted. I think there was some flavors they could add that would take the dish further. If they added avocado, that would be nice, or some citrus flavor. My friends ordered the traditional breakfast and they had varying experiences. Both of them were surprised by how large the dish was, however one person got scrambled eggs and the portion of eggs seemed way smaller than the one who got two sunny side up eggs. The potato pave had a flaked salt finish for one person, but not the other person, even though it wasn't a special request for either of them. The toast was delicious. It seems they use those large loaves, and give you two slices, to which they cut in half (you get 4 pieces of toast in total). Not sure what kind of bread they used, but the texture was lovely--crunchy crust and very soft center. With butter, the bread was perfect. They also used a very fresh peach jam. I would probably actually order this myself! Restroom was very clean and it is located in the back. There is also outdoor patio seating, which looked so nice. Overall, the restaurant is aesthetic, and food was pretty enjoyable, but the service was unfortunately lackluster.
Can't believe I've never reviewed the incredible Perenn at Rancharrah. Perenn is known for being an upscale and expensive boutique bakery, but they are worth it and truly the best. I love all of the pastries at Perenn, but the chocolate bouchons are truly exceptional, and if you want to splurge, the grab-and-go freezer is great, too. My wife is also a huge fan of their matcha. Specifically, they do a coconut cloud matcha, which is a base of lightly sweetened coconut water topped with a matcha foam. It's perfectly sweet and incredibly refreshing on a warm day. The ambiance here is perfectly upscale and accessible. The decor is very chic, and their outdoor patio space is very nice. The service is always great, and though there can be a huge line, it often moves quickly. My only wish for Perenn would be that I could visit more often! While they have expanded, more locations and lower pricing could make them a truly exceptional stand-out bakery with accessibility for all.
Finally, an artisan bakery that's on the same level as what you would find in big cities, like LA, SF, NYC, Seattle, etc. Beautiful bakery in the The Village at Rancharrah. It's a pretty large location with plenty to choose from. Customer service was great all around. They have large windows so you can see into the kitchen and watch pastries being made. Pastries range between $5-$7.50. So, they are pretty pricey. I got their Gruyere & Leek Grilled Cheese sandwich and it was a whopping $21!! Add prosciutto or bacon - + $3.25! For that price, I wondered if they milked their own cows and aged the cheese on property. The sandwich was served with a side of dressed arugula. The taste and execution of the sandwich was fine, easy to eat, etc. But the flavor wasn't anything that justified the price tag. I also got an orange marmalade iced latte - kind of whatevs. My MIL got the griddled banana bread which is a thick slice of banana bread, topped with sugar and honeycomb. Also, tasted pretty mediocre. As for Pastries to-go, I got the creme brulee kouign aman (5/5). I don't typically like kouign aman, but I loved the caramel-y flavor of the sugar and they stuff it with a generous amount of pastry cream. I loved it. I also got their Bostock which had peach. Also, very good, but nothing amazing. Tried their chocolate bouchon which were pre-packaged. While, extremely rich & chocolatey, they were dry. My MIL got their marzipan morning bun which I didn't get to try. After all was said and done, the total was over $85!! Yes, you will need to go here on pay day in order to afford this place. Lol. Tartine is my fave bakery in CA and while I do think they are also expensive, I was able to get more items totaling at $75. I'm glad this place is in Reno. It's far enough to not make me want to drive here regularly. But, I will definitely be back to try their other items. This is definitely more of a "TREAT YO SELF" destination. Love the ambiance, love that it's artisan, just don't know if the astronomical prices are justified.
Perenn has multiple locations. This one happens to be their flagship at the Village at Rancharrah. It's a cafe and viennoiserie (pastries and French bread) bakery that serves salad, lunch and breakfast. They make daily fresh bread. We got an Iced Vietnamese coffee which was super strong. I drink Vietnamese coffee often and very familiar but this, this was stronger than a typical Viet coffee. So strong that a headache kicked in immediately and only drank 1/4 of the cup. Also got a matcha cloud which consist of coconut water and a creamy matcha foam. First sip, sweet and creamy. Barely tasted the matcha. For pastries we got the chocolate croissant, pain suisse and a Kouign Amann. The Kouign amann was different, it was in a shape of a bar and had multiple flaky layers. Tasted like a palmier cookie. Everything was delicious. The lines can be long and we were told if you just want drinks, walk next door to Perenn Grocery and they can make the drinks quickly to avoid the lines. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
It's a little bit pricey, but the atmosphere is lovely. We ordered the Turkish Eggs, Coconut Cloud Americano, Cappuccino, and bread (I forgot that name) They were awesome. I'd like to try some of the other items on the menu. I want to back here soon!
Staff were friendly despite being busy and had great recommendations to help with indecision! The modern decor and open viewing of their process is a unique decoration and we enjoyed the outside patio. It was a little noisy inside to be able to sit and have a conversation so the patio fit our needs. Coffee came out quick as did our food and I am so happy I tried a chocolate chip cookie! (Don't sleep on the cookies!) I had the avocado toast and it was exactly the lunch I was hoping for. I wasn't expecting a whole avocado between the two very chunky slices of bread, but the bread was SO good! I look forward to a return visit.

This is honestly one of my favorite spots to eat at whenever I'm visiting Reno! Their breakfast pastries and baked goods are absolutely delectable. Everything tastes fresh, warm, and made with care. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to get here earlier in the morning, as they can run out of certain pastries as the day goes on. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but in my opinion, it's worth it. Every dish I've tried has had such incredible flavor, and everything I've ordered has been delicious. I've also tried their hot chocolate and matcha, and both are to die for! Although some of the plates might look a little small at first, the portions are surprisingly filling. The restaurant has a spacious interior along with outdoor seating, so there are plenty of places to sit. However, don't let the size fool you because this place gets BUSY, especially during the morning rush! Even with so many tables, people are definitely keeping an eye out for the next open seat indoors, so be ready to grab a spot when one becomes available. The staff are also attentive, friendly, and quick, which makes the overall experience even better despite how busy things can get. Overall, this is a spot I always look forward to visiting whenever I'm in Reno. Between the delicious food, fresh pastries, amazing drinks, and great service, it's easy to see why I keep coming back. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, just make sure to arrive early! read more

Perenn is always on my shortlist for breakfast or lunch when company visits from out of town because it consistently delivers the quality, atmosphere and world class cuisine that impresses everyone. My lunch visit included a delicious kale salad and a curry chicken sandwich. Both were fresh, flavorful and brilliantly executed. Service here is the closest I've had in Europe with professionally uniformed staff who work to perfect everything as desired. Perenn understands price to value. You pay a little more, but the experience is well worth it!! read more
On the 3rd day of Christmas my true love gave to me; 3 French Hens. Day 3 of 12 weeks of local shopping took me on a field trip to the Village at Rancharrah. Rancharrah is the cutest little market in Reno. We visit every time we come, but this was the first time we stopped by Perenn Bakery. It is super bright, clean and gave this refreshing cutesie atmosphere. The staff are super kind and helpful with the pastries as well. We got two big boxes of pastries to go. We also ordered breakfast, it was absolutely delicious. I will be back next time I stop by in Reno. read more
Possibly the best bakery in Northern Nevada Perenn has been making their mark here in Reno for many years now starting in Midtown. I always went to their location in Midtown for pastries and bread before they opened their new restaurant here at Rancharrah. Their new restaurant offers a full menu and their classic bakery stuff plus more because they have even like a little mini grocery store across the way as well. They use high-quality ingredients and you can tell with each bite. The complete vibe and ambience of their new location is truly one of the best in town and it matches the complete vibe of the shopping center and high class vibe of South Reno. The service can be a bit slow sometimes because they are so busy, but their staff does their best to get through it, and everybody is always very pleasant and enjoyable. They also have helped me out a ton of times whenever I have questions so that is nice. I did not get food just go around. I just got some sweet treats. The little croissant muffin thing that is filled up with a vanilla crème brûlée is seriously unreal probably one of my favorite pastries in Northern Nevada right now. The cookie that they had to offer was seriously amazing as well too. I did not get the name of it, but it was like a white chocolate marshmallow cookie with like the hard sugar edges. It was so tasty. I literally wanted like 50 of them. I also got their daily danish, which was a pineapple, mango cream cheese danish, and it was delectable. The whole shopping center is also really nice where I just took a walk around and went by the little lake to enjoy my stuff. The pastries at this location are fabulous and the vibe was relaxed in the open and airy dining room. We ordered at the counter and received great service and a friendly smile. Unfortunately where our experience fell short was the food we ordered off the menu. Smash burger and lemon ricotta pancakes. The hamburger patties were cooked well but the brioche bun left something to be desired. A bit on the dry side and it fell apart as I was handling it to eat. This bun should be changed out to something more substantial that holds its structure. Also, the pancakes were dry as well. Not at all what we were expecting from a pancake. The lemon flavor was prominent but the pancake itself was disappointing. read more

Bakery connoisseur here this is a fabulous bakery the snacks and treats and desserts coming from one of the best bakery's in the Lake Tahoe region!! This one's been on my bucket list cause usually I was too hungover to make it and the line would be around the corner. It wasn't that bad but this place has a lot of hype and for good reason! What separates this place from the rest is the sheer quality in each individual treat of baked good. This place has some baked stuff I've never heard off before. Like 'Crème brûlée French toast bread'! I would commit crimes for a loaf for that stuff! Everything that my brother and me ordered was phenomenal! Although line was long on the Saturday morning we came in and service was a tad slow for take home baked goods. Maybe at some point they will have to get a larger bakery at some point or separate the restaurant services. Nonetheless it was still all so worth it. Still have got a chance to explore the restaurant side of this small bakery. Can't wait to explore the rest of the bakery and see what new items they come up with. My favorites were the crème brûlée French toast bread, croissant cinnamon roll, and the crème brûlée itself I had to try because the pictures on the internet looked so darn good! The line is very long, but they get through it very quickly. And everyone is so kind. The selection of pastries is amazing, I do think that is what they are more known for over their breakfast menu. If you make it before 9 you have a chance of missing the line. The service is quick and friendly. They often ask you if you want to order pastries before your order food and drinks. We had the croissant crumble cookie and it was phenomenal. The pastries are always to die for. Luckily with no line there was plenty of seating. When it comes to baked goods, PERENN BAKERY is the place to be! From their pastries to their breakfast, you can tell everything at Perenn was made with love. As someone who isn't a breakfast person, the fresh and flaky croissant pairs so well as an egg sandwich that it's definitely changed my mind. Add a side of crispy potatoes to that and it's the perfect breakfast! The pastries are made fresh daily and they have everything ranging from croissants, cinnamon rolls, breads and even bake-at-home cookie dough (the chocolate chip was delicious). Updating for brunch: as usual weekends are very busy, but I feel like prices are going up, and quality is diminishing. Perenn Grocery: VERY expensive items for what it is. The vibes are very boutique, and cool to look at, but unrealistic prices for Reno. This is hands down my fave spot in town! Everything in their menu is to die for! The vanilla crème brûlée is one of my go to pastries and will never not order this when i'm there! Their cloud matcha is also really good, but recently discovered that their dirty chai is also another banger!! Everything is a must try!! 10/10 would recommend!! read more
Cute and clean restaurant with good food but crappy seating arrangement. Parking is super easy as they have a shared parking lot with businesses in the same complex. Back to the seating issue. They have indoor and outdoor seating but on a cold day where it's wet outside, it's obvious everyone will sit indoors. They don't have enough chairs. Everyone gets in line to order and the disclaimer from the cashier when they ask if your order is to go or dine in is that you may not have a table. Once you are done ordering, you are given a small placard with a number and the server will bring you your food. While you may find a table, you are not guaranteed a chair. They def don't have enough chairs. This is unacceptable, as they can buy some foldable ones and leave them on the side for patrons to use on a first come first serve basis. Food is good but given the lack of seating, I don't know if I would return. Comfort and dining go hand in hand for me. Items ordered: Hot chocolate with whip cream Latte with almond milk (they were out of oat milk)- good coffee Almond milk chai- too sweet Bowl of tomato soup- taste and texture was good but it was barely warm. Having a true blue French-style bakery in our biggest, little city is incredible. Their pastries are delectable -- flakey and buttery with a perfect crunch upon first bite. Their service Is fast even when that kine is out the door. The staff is always friendly and points out specials and goes over ingredients. I appreciate that extra effort made knowing they are always busy. Our family favorites are the croissants -- plain, almond, chocolate and their daily danish is a DON'T MISS! I love discovering new bakeries and this one is amazing. So much selection and all freshly baked by a crew that you can observe through their open kitchen. I ordered the double baked croissant and a latte for here and grabbed a rhubarb and strawberry danish, along with a chocolate croissant for to go. Delicious! The place is beautiful and definitely has a vibe. We got there around 10am and there was definitely a line out the door. Wait time until we got to the front to order was about 20 mins. Waiting for our food was another 30 minutes. My friends enjoyed their breakfast croissant sandwiches and various pastries. I ordered the Ploughman which I thought was kind of hard to eat. I know we are late to the party on this one. My wife and I are both teachers so we aren't able to venture out during the week when some of the other businesses close by midday. I had done some yelping and came across this bakery/restaurant/coffee shop. The decor is a very modern farmhouse/rustic approach. With a Bay Area or LA vibe There's a freezer with premade bakery treats to pick out near the queue. They have many options from clothing to their own granola to baked bread, ready to take home. We were there to get some coffee. And what caught our eye was the amazing pastries they had, we decided to go with the croissant cinnamon roll and the banana nut bread. The cinnamon roll was super flaky and out of this world. The banana nut bread was moist, dense and a perfect combo with my latte. Kudos to the barista that day as these were the best lattes that we have ever had in Reno. We really enjoy a couple places downtown and this is so good. It's worth driving from Spanish Springs for. It's beautiful inside Perenn with its glorious windows letting the sun shine in. The tables/chairs are nice-looking and there are self-serve stations for coffee, water, and utensils. Mainly counter-service where the staff rings up your order and retrieves your pastries. Hubby and I over-ordered because there were so many great choices. They're on the pricey side for beautiful instagram-worthy pastries!! But, sadly, none of them were executed well; they were dry and the flavors were ok. We tried a $7 seasonal kouign amann, a $5 plain croisant, an $8 almond croissant, a $7 seasonal crufft, and a $4 drip coffee (which I did enjoy). There were no descriptions for the seasonal kouign amann or the seasonal crufft flavors/filling; it was my fault for not asking and assuming the fruit on top was all there was (I didn't care for the filling.) They also offer breakfast items, sandwiches, and salads. I'm glad we visited Perenn - the ambiance was lovely. read more

First step is to get in line and as you're passing the fresh bread that they have baked, you go around to the counter of Bakery items where someone is ready to help take your order on pastries. Then if you want something from the menu, you order it…
Do you sell fresh pretzels?
Although there are no fresh pretzels, there are other styles of baked breads that are made fresh daily. There are also fresh pastries, cookies, croissants, and other French style baked goods. Supplies available on a first come first serve basis.
Do they have anything gluten free? Usually the really good bakeries (i.e., Bay Area) have at least one special item which is gluten free and not on the level of a rice crispy.
We have Mochi Muffins! They are gluten free and the flavor changes every other week!
