We came at the close of a long day of volleyball and had a terrible experience. The service was poor, the orders were wrong, items were missing...it was a mess. My matzoh ball soup had a cold matzoh ball and instead of being sanitary and replacing the dish - they just reheated it gross and the matzoh ball was still cold! My daughter and I ordered chicken Caesar salad. It was highly overdressed and wilted. The chicken was ice cold. Our dinner mate ordered the salmon and it was overcooked and extremely fishy. The manager, although he removed the salmon, one salad and one soup - did not seem a bit surprised nor did he seem to care about our experience. I Went out with my friends that we like to go thrift store shopping and we always pick a different restaurant to go to! One of our friends is a big casino person so she said something about the deli at the Atlantis! Service was really slow today, and I don't know why as it was a Monday and it was really quiet! It took us over 40 minutes to get our sandwiches and fries, then my fries were cold. Their fries were cold, one had onion rings one had garlic fries, and I had regular fries so we could share, but it was nothing to write home about, they were not that great.! service was ridiculously slow, so much for getting back there on the road, it took over an hour to have lunch! I ordered the Reuben, my friend ordered the Reuben and my other friend ordered the steamed meat, corn beef sandwich! I thought the onion rings were undercooked, and the fries were cold! We went to the Atlantis hotel to stay over the Thanksgiving holiday! Atlantis was doing a Black Friday stay special and if you booked you got a $25 food credit! We decided to go to the Manhattan deli for an evening snack! My husband got the Miso soup which was very tasty and two Dutch crunch rolls that were heated and melted in your mouth and paired nicely with the soup! I went with mushroom cream of soup with a half of egg salad sandwich on sour dough. The bread was a little tough, I wish I would have ordered it on the Dutch crunch roll. Next time! Such a great place. The food is always great here. It's located over by the sports book. We ordered to go and the staff were super nice. The area itself isn't closed in with windows or anything. So while it is separated you can heat and see everything out in the casino still which is fun. Lots of food options and desserts. Surprised that it was a sit down restaurant and not a deli counter. My party of 2 were pressed for time so we asked what the turn around time to be served was and it was only 15 minutes. The cold deli sandwiches are good and a huge serving. The service was good and our waitress kept checking in on us and even brought over a complimentary kosher pickle while we waited. We got there at 8:50 pm. They close at 10 pm. There weren't that many people there and so many empty tables, and they were still so slow :( we ordered within 10-12 min of being seated and our food came out just after 9:30. There were 5 of us. We didn't order anything extravagant. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was the most stingiest pastrami sandwich I've ever seen. It tasted fine, just wasn't anything to write home about And the sad cup of fries that accompanied it was really stingy as well. Pleasantly surprised! As someone with many Jewish friends and frequented NYC delis, I wasn't expecting much from a deli in a Reno casino. But I find the food delightful! There's this giant Corned Beef and Pastrami Double Decker, with heights of meat similar to what you'd get from Katz. You'd never get anything this size in NYC, and never for a reasonable price. Both meats are hot and fall-apart tender. The New York Special is a lot lighter. The corned beef is cold, and savory equals creamy-sweet in a matching layer of coleslaw. The Manhattan Deli is one of those places that satisfies a craving. Mine happens to be matzo valley soup. I'm craving it as I write this review! They do such an amazing job on this dish. Although this is my go to when I frequent this New York style deli, I've never seen a dish that disappointed anyone. Boom! This is our favorite restaurant in Reno. Why? For starters, Mr. John Farahi who runs the Atlantis sought to replicate an authentic Jewish deli in Reno. He has succeeded wonderfully. From demanding genuine rye bread like you normally only find in NYC, to delicious pastrami and corned beef, to the best cheesecake ever, anywhere. The matzo ball soup, knishes, and blintzes are all 100% authentic and delicious. We've probably eaten here 50 times over a decade or so and we'll keep coming back. In fact, we choose to stay at the Atlantis over the Peppermill, GSR, or Silver Legacy just so we can dine at the Deli so conveniently. Lastly, today for the first time, we tried their pizza. Based on our past experience, we assumed it would be very good. But we were completely impressed. Their Soho pizza, basically a margherita with tomatoes, was exceptional. It was the perfect combination of whole milk mozzarella, san marzano tomato sauce, and sear. Blown away. To be able to do not just one cuisine but two cuisines with such genuineness and taste is incredible. I was very surprised to find that casino pizza could be so good. The ingredients tasted fresh and they have a wood burning oven that makes the pizza so crunchy and delicious. My server was very nice and very attentive. But I was thrown by the robot food servers. I don't like them. For over 15 years this place has been wowing tastebuds of my friends and I each and every visit. Now as a married man I still seek the thrills of the menu. While I still am mad they removed the Manhattan Scyscraper off the menu, I understand. The massive pastrami & corned beef makes up for the sin. I'm from New York and this place is nowhere near the food/flavor you would get in any of the 5 boroughs of New York City... You're better off eating at a Dennys or IHOP. I'd comment on the service but we couldn't even figure out who our waiter was and then to add to the confusion, they have a robot that brings out food also! There was a volley ball tournament in town at the time and all the privileged teenagers who were sitting at separate tables from their parents/coaches while the servers were trying to tend to their every need definitely influenced my review also. So the good side is the Ruben was good...not great, but good. The matzah ball soup was bland flavoring and they fountain sodas (Coke Products) were on point! Visited the Manhattan deli inside of the Atlantis casino today. There is no wait and lots of tables available. There were only a couple of servers and assistance available for a good size dining room with lots of tables filled with hungry customers. Our drink order was taken right away and our lunch order shortly after. We tried the corned beef sandwich, the tuna sandwich, hot dog and fries and cheese pizza. All the food was pretty tasty and the portions were generous but the presentation lacked a bit. there was no garnish no decoration of any sort. just a sandwich and a side on a plate. our waitress however was very friendly and nice but due to the short staff and full tables we didn't see our servers except for taking the orders serving the food and bringing the bill. The restaurant is impeccably clean and there's lots of light and seating. We did not try the desserts but the offerings in the cases looked very good. The prices are moderate in relation to other similar restaurants in town. We would probably try it again and I do believe it's open 24 hours. read more
