This is an underrated bagel shop tucked away on a side street near Wells Avenue. They have some patio seating and a small indoor space as well. We came on a Sunday morning and they were very busy! They have a great selection of bagels to chose from, breakfast and lunch options, plus a full coffee menu. They have a fun specialty drink menu in the shop and they allow you to choose any alternative milk option for no extra charge. I went with the Desert Sun breakfast bagel, a classic that is their namesake for a reason! I got it on a cheddar bagel with bacon and added a hashbrown (suggestion written next to this item on their menu). The sandwich was loaded with ingredients, filled me up, and tasted delicious! The bagel was noticeably soft and doughy, a perfect base for a breakfast sandwich. The bagels tasted better than most others I've had in Reno and will definitely make me come back again in the future! read more

This place is fabulous! The inside is small and cute with a desert mining theme, but there is extra seating outdoors. We had a breakfast bagel and a lunch bagel the eggs are fresh cracked daily, the bagels are made fresh in house the bacon was thick and well cooked, plus bonus you can add a hash brown to your sandwich for $1.75 The lunch bagel was so delicious, I added cream cheese and it was very filling, there was a great amount of turkey too. I'm from out of town and would definitely eat here again if I come back and would recommend it to anyone coming to Reno!! Oh also they have fresh made gluten free bagels too! Decided to check out this bagel spot today. A bit of a let-down. Pluses: plentiful on-street parking, very friendly and prompt service (despite a constant stream of delivery pick-ups), and tasty chai (on the sweeter side). Cons: I can't really say that I enjoyed my Egg N Cheese on sesame bagel. While the egg was cooked well, the thin American cheese did nothing to enhance the either somewhat dry or somewhat stale bagel. The menu suggests a lot of "pro tip" addons (with an upcharge) to the sandwiches. Maybe they should make those addons part of the base sandwich so you get a better experience ordering a standard sandwich. My husband's blueberry bagel tasted like a plain wheat bagel (he said). I expected more from a place that makes their own bagels. Can't compare to Lillo Eatery's Off Center bagels, for example. Inside decor was cute but dark and cramped. Outdoor seating was plentiful on a weekday morning, but one chair was missing slats, and all the chains and locks brought down the vibe a bit. All in all, pretty average. read more

Stopped on the way out of town for a quick breakfast and were not let down. I had the sunrise bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon and I added a hash brown on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. It was out of this world! The bagel had a nice crust and was pillowy on the inside, not to mention the jalapeno gave it just the right amount of heat. Service was speedy and courteous. Amazing service from Paige. She allowed me time to look over the menu without standing there watching me, which is a plus for me - made me feel like I wasn't being rushed to get me out. When asked for recommendations she was very honest and nice. We ordered a Lox's on garlic bagel, Arroyo on Parmesan, a bagel of day old bagels, and a garden garlic cream cheese spread. Let me tell you a secret....the Arroyo was for my fiancé, I took a bite the minute I opened it to see what it looked like and it was AMAZING! The Garden garlic is absolutely delicious, I bought it for the bag of day old bags but find myself spreading it on my lox's bagel. I absolutely love garlic so this is amazing. Giant chunks of fresh garlic mixed with whipped cream cheese.. chefs kiss. The is small with a few tables but very cute. They have year round outside seating. I told my fiancé that since it's less than a minute from his job we should do our "mini" lunch dates there during the summer and enjoy the outside. Overall 100% recommend this place! read more

I will start off by saying that I like my chai sweet and this spot has currently the best chai I have ever tried. I'm just sad that there is not one locally in my small ca town. The chai latte large came with a lot! It was sweet and surprisingly, very good. Now the bagel was the highlight of the meal. I opted to get it on a cheddar bagel and it was so good. I did take off the tomato, but that was just because I was going to be eating this in the car and I didn't want to make a big mess. The service here was absolutely great. The girls were very nice and friendly. It does take a little longer, but the food is definitely worth it. They definitely had tables outside where I saw some people sitting but inside there aren't as many tables. However, the inside was cool because they had a bunch of crystals everywhere and I thought that was pretty dope, considering most coffee shops kind of have their own style and this one was unique. Anyways, I came here once last year and I have made it a thing to come here every time I am in Reno since it does not disappoint. 10/10 read more

I haven't visited in a while, but today the service was my least favorite part. I called to order ahead and was put on hold for over 7 minutes. When I arrived, I saw the cashier do the same thing to someone else on the phone. It also took a little while to actually get my food even though I was first in line. We recently checked out the new Desert Sun Bagels location in the Smithridge shopping center, tucked behind Chuck E. Cheese. It's not a fancy setup, but they advertise fresh-baked bagels daily, and we were curious to see how it compared to their original spot. We arrived around 9 a.m., and they had about nine different types of bagels available: Everything, Sesame, Garlic, Jalapeño Cheddar, Plain, Cheddar, Salt, and Poppy Seed. A solid variety for a weekday morning. It took a little while before someone came to the counter to take our order, but we eventually placed an order for a sesame and a salt bagel--both to go. I asked for mine toasted with their spinach artichoke cream cheese, but when I was told it wasn't available, I quickly opted for the pesto. (Admittedly, I thought it was pesto-flavored cream cheese--my mistake.) Unfortunately, when we got home, the experience fell a bit flat. My husband toasted his bagel with no issues, but the salt on top had huge crystals, which didn't taste good. When I opened mine, it was burnt around the edges and completely dried out, even with the pesto spread. Definitely disappointing. Neither one of us was impressed, and we won't be going back anytime soon. read more

New favorite bagel spot in town! We came here one day when we found out that they were partnering with local parks to give back (from rounding up your purchase). So glad we did because their bagels and bagel sandwiches are delicious. Several of the bagel sandwiches use local meats and if meat isn't your thing, they've also got vegetarian options. The bagel itself has great taste and perfect texture. They've got a bunch of different flavors so if you want your main bagel to be savory then end with a sweet dessert like one, you can. They even have muffins here. We each ordered something different and before I could even take a picture of it all, we had devoured it. The staff was also friendly and service was quick. This place is absolutely amazing! We came in on a Sunday morning. It was so busy, which is a great thing. The cashier was not bothered by the amount of people shooting questions at her. She was so polite and just keep working as nothing was going on. I don't know her name, but she was GREAT. She is a great employee Shane definitely give her a raise. The coffee is great from a local brewer. The barista made me an iced Carmel latte which was so yummy. The ambiance was quaint and beautiful. They had lovely canvas photos. The Oasis bagel wins with its light taste of spinach and red onion with the eggs and cheese (add bacon please). Yum to Desert Bagel, near 4th Street and Valley. Will be back for more. It was so good we went two mornings in a row! Our hotel didn't have breakfast so it was super convenient that this AWESOME place was right around the corner. 1. I'm a condiment girl - and they had a smattering of condiments to supplement my "CHEESE".
