Sunday at 11:10 am
DE H.

We've eaten here before and previously had a good experience, but today was really off. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once seated, we ordered quickly and received our drinks right away. Unfortunately, nearly an hour later, we still had not received any food. We were eventually told they had new staff working in the kitchen, but no one kept us updated or explained the delay until we asked. The restaurant was only half full at 11:10 a.m. on a Sunday. We understand that new staff may need time to get settled, but waiting more than an hour for food in a half-empty restaurant--with very little communication--was disappointing. Hopefully, this was just an unusually bad day and they can get the kitchen and service back on track.

Ramon's Skillet (eggs on the side) Asada Nachos

We go to Los Altos at least once every couple of months, so we've definitely tried our fair share of the menu! It's one of those reliable breakfast and lunch spots that we keep coming back to. The staff is always really friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the waiters and waitresses are helpful and attentive. There is usually a wait, especially on the weekends, but don't let the line scare you away! They have a TON of seating inside, so it usually moves pretty quickly. We definitely have our favorites! For the longest time, mine has been the Ramon's Skillet. It normally comes with chorizo, tomatoes, cilantro, peppers, onions, serrano peppers, Jack and Cheddar cheese, then it's topped with pico de gallo and avocado and served with three eggs and country-style potatoes. I substitute the chorizo for breakfast sausage, and it is SO good! It has tons of flavor with a nice spicy kick. My only complaint is that sometimes it can come out a tad oily, but obviously that hasn't stopped me from ordering it again and again annnnd again. Lol BUT...I think the Machaca is officially my new favorite! The Machaca Scramble has shredded beef, spinach, mushrooms and onions topped with Jack and Cheddar cheese. Add some salsa and tortillas and YUMMY! It's packed with flavor and definitely in my regular rotation now. My mom and daughter are the crêpe girls. They both LOVE them! You can get lingonberry crêpes or go with fresh strawberries and bananas, and of course add Nutella. The crêpes are always a favorite with those two. My husband has tried several different things, including the chicken-fried steak and the meat skillet, and he's enjoyed both. My dad even tried the fish and chips and really enjoyed them! For a breakfast and lunch restaurant, he said the fish and chips were actually really good, which was a nice surprise and shows there are plenty of options if you're not in the mood for breakfast. Everything is made fresh to order, the huge portions, and we've always found the food to be flavorful. After coming here so many times, we've had a consistently good experience, which is probably why we keep ending up back here every couple of months! If you're looking for a good local breakfast or lunch spot, you really can't go wrong with Los Altos. Just be prepared for a possible weekend wait but again it usually moves faster than you think! And if you're a savory breakfast person like me, try the Machaca with salsa and tortillas. SO GOOD!

Had the Meat Lover's Sramble, Los Altos Benedict, Full Stack Pancake Combo. The Meat Lover'a Scramble was packed with bacon, ham and sausage. Also had Jack and Cheddar cheese. Hefty size. They didn't skimp on the ingredients with more meat than eggs. The Los Altos Benedict had thick filet of salmon sitting on top of toasted English muffins, spinach and tomatoes. This is better than the Scramble. Salmon was not fishy. Hollandaise sauce was somewhat buttery and went really well with the salmon. The hashbrown was also pretty good; toasty on the surface but not overly fried. The pancakes had good texture. Fluffy. Didn't fall apart when you cut into it, at the same time we're not gummy chewy. Food came out quickly. Staff were nice. Reasonable price for the portion. Spacious dining room.

We arrived on a busy morning and were quoted a 25-minute wait. The timing was pretty accurate, and we were eventually seated in the front dining room. Unfortunately, the restaurant lacked any real ambiance, and the bathrooms could definitely use a good cleaning. The menus also need to be reprinted--they're so worn that they're difficult to read. We started with screwdrivers. They only come in one size. My first drink barely tasted like it had any vodka, although after my husband ordered a second one, I could definitely taste it in his. I ordered the ground beef taco salad, and it was enormous! It was fresh and filling, but I honestly wish they offered a half-size option because I couldn't come close to finishing it. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with two meats and enjoyed it. Our total came to $63 when paying cash. Be aware that if you pay with a credit card, they add nearly a 4% surcharge. Overall, I can see why this place has a loyal following, but it just wasn't a favorite of mine. Everyone else seems to love it, but for me, it was just a rushed dining experience with many extra charges.

You guessed it! This is one of my favorite breakfast stops. They're open for breakfast and they close at 2:30 PM so you can go there for lunch options as well. You may have to wait for a table, but they usually get to you fairly quick and or so kind and courteous as they assist you with seating and ordering. The food is always fantastic. This time I got the Mexican skillet which had plenty of Chorizo and Serrano peppers. The waitress had to come by and fan me with extra menus because my head was pouring out sweat just the way I like it. Enjoy the pics. My wife got the Mexican scramble. The Skillet is served over country potatoes and you can get the Mexican Scramble with either hash browns or country potatoes. The restaurant is always tidy and bustling with customers. Breakfast, Lunch or Brunch you gotta go.

Love this diner style restaurant. The food is delicious and has good portions, the service is good, and if you pay in cash, you get a discount. We tried the waffle with bananas and strawberries and the new Chile Relleno Omelet. The waffle was good with plenty of fruit, and the omelet was delicious! The red sauce is flavorful, but not spicy. The Chili Relleno was fresh and a little spicy, which I love. It also came with a choice of potatoes and toast. If you order coffee, they offer flavored creamers at the table, which is wonderful for those of us who want coffee, but need the flavor! Overall a very popular and great restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Service was impeccable! Our server was so nice and checked in on us throughout breakfast. We got there a little before 9am on a Sunday and it filled up quick behind us. Portion sizes were big and filling. Definitely needed a box to go. Great breakfast place on a weekend!

If Michael T. and Yelp ever host a Battle of the breakfast spots I need to be there. This would need to be one of the places everyone should visit. Just this past weekend I had a chance to visit Los Altos and it did not disappoint. The ambiance felt vaguely familiar, similar to another breakfast spot closer in town, but regardless I was hungry. The wait was about 15 minutes for a party of two. We waited inside what appeared to be a busy Saturday morning with families coming in to get their fix. I'm feeling sweet and savory today. A Tres Leches French toast combo with bacon, scrambled eggs and country style potatoes. Fritzie W. loves her eggs benedict. Almost any flavor, any style, covered in a salsa de verde for her Los Altos bene. Man, the flavors. The French toast was delicious, the tres leches sauce, wasn't too sweet, but just enough to let you know it means business. So good. You can't go wrong with eggs, bacon and potatoes. Fritzie's let me try her Benedict it was really good, prepared right--flavorful, savory. Nothing prepared was overdone, the servings were satisfying and our waitress was kind and accommodating along with the manager that shift having visited our table briefly to see how we were enjoying our meal. Truly a satisfying experience. The price, affordable for two, under $40. You can't beat that. Granted Pyramid Way is a bit of a trek, if you're out this way, check them out. Tell them I sent you. They won't do anything special for you, but just remind them I'll be back lol.

Carne Asada w pancakes

Came here on a Sunday for brunch with a friend and they were able to accommodate us perfectly with our toddlers. It is pretty busy so I recommend calling ahead to get your name down. I ordered the carne asada platter and the meat was perfectly seasoned the potatoes were nice and soft, the eggs were nice and buttery. The pancakes are well sized and fluffy. The coffee was great and the staff were very friendly. Excited to come back.

Pancake Combo with country potatoes and bacon

My girlfriends and I met here for Sunday brunch. The server was very attentive and quick to fulfill our requests even with how wildly busy the restaurant was. The food was delicious and it was hard to choose which meal to order. I ordered the pancake combo and they let me swap out my eggs for more bacon; I'm one of those people who love breakfast, but hate eggs. The bacon was crispy, thick, and sweet. The potatoes were seasoned very well and had bell peppers and onions, yum. And the pancakes tasted better than a lot of other restaurants in town. I will definitely be coming here again!

We were really looking forward to trying this place and I'm sad to say it wasn't what I was hoping for. The service was very slow and the food was good, but nothing I'd go out of my way to have again.

The atmosphere here is one of hospitality and welcome. Once you start coming, you will begin to feel like family. I love that they have gluten-free bread for sandwiches and breakfast. This place is highly popular. It is always busy. It is my favorite breakfast /lunch spot in the Spanish Springs area. The menu is extensive and full of a variety of dietary needs. My favorite items here are the Fajita or the All Meat skillets. There is so much food that I always leave with leftovers and breakfast the next day. The Fajita skillet is served with three eggs any style and a choice of toast. It comes with country potatoes, onions, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, and the option of steak, chicken, or shrimp. I love to get my potatoes extra crispy and gluten-free toast. The All Meat Skillet is served with three eggs and a choice of toast. It has country potatoes, onions, tomatoes, peppers, ham, applewood smoked bacon, sausage, jack, and cheddar cheese. My husband and son tell me that the biscuits and gravy are incredible. They often ask for the gravy on the side. That way, if they can't eat it all, they can get the biscuits and gravy to go. During the holidays, they have their windows painted and decorated. It is located near Bank of America, Kohl's, and Walmart.

It was a full house but we were seated immediately. The food was amazing as always. I haven't had a bad meal yet. Quick, friendly service. Family friendly atmosphere. We can't get enough of this spot!

I've been here a few times for large dinner parties or even lunch with friends/family and one thing I can say is that the Sparks water bar staff is always incredibly welcoming and kind! The waterfront ambience is always very aesthetically pleasing so we wanted to enjoy it one last time before the warm season ended. We started off lunch today with a crabcake appetizer, I am determined to try all the crabcakes in town, but I will say this one in particular, although the portion is tiny, it is definitely worth every bite. For an entree today, I got the Korean short rib tacos, these included a mango salsa and an Asian inspired aïoli. I wasn't too sure how it was going to feel about this combination but over all it was tasty and the mango salsa complimented the dish well. They definitely were not shy about the portion of meat they added on the small tortillas. If you're looking for a nice place to drop in for a date, celebratory dinner, etc. I would definitely recommend trying out Sparks water bar!

It was an early Thursday evening, plenty of tables open, looked like plenty of staff. So why did it take AN HOUR from start to finish for 2 drinks w NO FOOD?!?! We were sat by a hostess within minutes of arriving. Within about 5 min, we met our server and ordered 2 cocktails, nothing blended or over the top custom, just 2 cucumber mojitos. Those arrived about 10 minutes later, so far, not too bad. Then we sat for about 20 min before we even spotted our guy insode the doning room, but he never came near our section. Another 15 min went by. The 2 tables near us were also ready to pay & we overheard them vocalizing their frustration. We would have ordered another round if we'd had the chance. It took another 15 min just to get our check and pay. He said he was "busy putting out fires". Sir, this was not the Hawk Fire zone, and it wasn't that busy. Servers were all over the rest of the patio getting food, drinks and checks. I was a server for over 10 years, so I notice things. If there's delays, just stop by your section and communicate. No reason to ghost several tables and I'm certain by his uniform that our guy wasn't the manager on duty that evening. At this price point & setting should warrant servers that hustle, that's how better tips are made.

The house salads were served in nice portions. I did add peppercorn, ranch and blue cheese crumbles to spice it up a bit. I was told the clam chowder was served hot and had a really nice texture and flavor but again the vegetables did not have a lot of flavor and were quite bland.
