Every table inside & out was taken. It was a 44° day ruling out sitting outside. An inside table did open up just before our food was served. The table was filthy. The server & clean up person arrived simultaneously. I had to ask if they could clean the table 1st. The server said, "SURE" then proceeded to set the food down anyway.. My tuna melt should be renamed the Safari Melt because I had to hunt for the tuna !! My table mate ordered mushroom soup. It had one small chunk & one slice of mushroom. The restaurant was clean. You order your food and find a seat. They brought the food to the table. The table was not cleaned and my husband asked if it could be wiped down as there was someone with her with a wet rag. The server said it would be wiped down but she was going to put the food down anyway. She put the food down on the dirty table and the other girl wiped the table down and moved the food to the wet table in front of us. I ordered a bowl of the mushroom soup. It should have been called tofu soup with a little bit of mushrooms. I found 2 chunks of mushrooms and a couple of small pieces. I can't eat soy, so I didn't eat the tofu. One of my most favorite cozy food spots in Reno! Süp is a local owned restaurant that has been in the area for years. They have a wide selection of soups, sandwiches, and salads so there's something for everyone. The seating and area inside is close knit and small, so seating can be tight but that's okay - they have lots of seating outside as well and there's heaters out for when it's chilly! My usual order is a "Make your own combo" where I get a choice of 1/2 sandwich + choice of soup + side salad w/ cranberries & blue cheese. My go-to is a broccoli cheddar soup + Reno Deli sandwich. For all the years I've been coming here, they are consistent with their food every time! Same goes for their excellent service. Now for the most important part, I beg this place to bring back their chocolate oatmeal cookies please! They used to serve a mini cookie with each meal and from what the workers told me, their bakery shut down so they don't provide cookies with meals anymore. I'm so happy that Reno Food & Drink Week gave us the inspiration to go to Süp tonight for dinner! We hadn't been here since before the pandemic! My husband and I both got the Süp trip: a choice of three of their daily soups with a white or wheat roll. I ended up going with the African Peanut Stew, the Cauliflower & Leek (I loved that it was topped with pesto), and my favorite of the three (because I am an Iberophile) - Gazpacho! My husband had the Tomato Bisque, Chicken Tortilla, and the White Bean Chicken Chili. What a fun way to try a variety of delicious soups! We were delighted to learn that the special also included a drink! Because it was their food week special, the Süp trio was only $12! Super reasonable! Plus, the gal behind the counter was very friendly and enthusiastic - great service! Since the weather was pleasant, we ended up sitting outside to enjoy our dinner alfresco. Went to lunch yesterday with a couple of coworkers. We got there just after 12pm and it was definitely busy, but service was great! Rainy day called for soup, so Sup it is. I haven't been to Sup in many years but it's just as good as I remembered. The cheddar broccoli is such a solid option, the consistency is creamy with finely chopped broccoli, just how I like it. My husband had the tomato bisque which he said was spot on too. The melted BLAT was also tasty, the grilled bread was a tasty change from the typical toasted option. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch, great ambiance even in the rain. I also noticed the staff taking soup out to the Karma box a few times, which was quickly scooped up by someone. So good Karma to you, Sup! The last two times I have been in, I have been majorly disappointed in the quality of the food you've served me. The radish was dry and shriveled up. The soup also had large chunks of broccoli that seemed to be not cooked at all. Today, after some time had passed, I missed you. I missed the melty BLAT that I also normally love. This was my sandwich of choice during the pandemic, I ordered take out of this sandwich often to make sure I supported you during the pandemic. My husband and I came in. There were hardly any customers and your employees seemed bored. We ordered a melty BLAT with a cup of broccoli soup and a half turkey pesto with a cup of broccoli soup. Our food arrived. Why your cook decided to serve me the grossest avocado and tomato, I have no idea. The gross avocado was also accompanied by the bitter peel of the avocado. My sandwich was terrible. The guy at the register was very informative and helped me decide between choosing Ajiaco or Chicken Tortilla Soup. I chose the tortilla soup because I wanted something a little spicier. Fiancé pointed out that the sandwich comes with a cranberry salad so I asked the girl to remove the half cranberry and add chicken to the salad it comes with. I also asked for a mimosa with a tiny splash of OJ. My mimosa came and it was chock full of Oj. I asked the girl if they can remake it and she said she'd ask her manager and I'm pretty sure they brought the same exact one out again. I wasn't there to talk to the manager so my fiancé just drank it. Then instead of my half sandwich with a small side salad i received a full half cranberry salad, sandwich, and a side cranberry salad. I said oh no they got this wrong it wasn't supposed to have the extra half salad. They took it away but never actually offered a refund. So like, effectively I got charged for a salad i never received, and the manager, who took the salad away, failed to ask if we wanted a refund or anything else. I didn't want to put up a fit cus we were with family but the salad was super meh. The chicken on it was dry as could be but the dressing was good. The sandwich was okay but the turkey was also super dry.
