If you want a soup, salad and or a sandwich you have to come here. If you don't know here this is, you pass by it every time you come to midtown. You can't miss it. They have seating outside also! A cute place to bring friends and enjoy delicious foods!
What a find! Amazing soups, salads, bowls and sandwiches. The accompanying frisée salad with blue cheese crumbles is insanely delicious. But be forewarned, Süp is not cheap...$70 for lunch for three people including tip. If you have Orinthophobia this is not the place for you. Personally, I like the pigeon busboy.
When visiting Reno, I highly encourage anyone that is looking for a delightful and relaxing lunch spot to definitely check out "Süp". Located directly on S. Virginia St and adjacent to St. Lawrence Ave in the heart of the Midtown neighborhood of Reno, Süp has served up delicious and healthy sandwiches, salads, and soups dating back to 2007. This place has been on my radar for quite some time and I finally got to experience what it was all about. Since this is in a fairly busy commercial part of town, it can be a bit tricky to find parking. However, we were able to park only a block away and this was during the afternoon on Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 12:15pm. After making the short way to the business, I absolutely loved the exterior aesthetics and layout were represented. The business itself mimics a house complete with a large front patio area that actually snakes around to the side of the house for the more comfortable Reno days. The wooden tables with plastic chairs and covered tents to shield off the sun were a very nice touch. The inside also offers very generous indoor seating complete with ample space for a single person, a couple, or a family. Their menu are digitally presented on LED TVs complete with some of their specials that are handwritten on a chalkboard. My lady and I both decided to order sandwiches to get our fuel and energy for the day. I went with their "Char-Grilled Steak Baguette"; this came complete with their bistro steak drizzled with chimichurri sauce and topped with caramelized onions, New York white cheddar & sharp cheddar cheese and served on a cheddar poppy seed baguette. My lady went with their "Reno Deli"; this offered salami, pepperoncini & pesto layered with spinach, tomatoes, provolone cheese, and aioli on toasted sourdough bread. Both of our sandwiches came with a side house salad. Once given our number (we got Tahoe St), we decided to sit outside and take full advantage of the weather (as it was a perfect 78°F). What I particularly like is that the ambiance is the perfect vibe for daydreaming, people watching, and enjoying the simplicity that a city like Reno offers. Both our sandwiches arrived in roughly 10 minutes and were presented on white porcelain plates. My sandwich was made to perfection as the cheddar baguette securely held the fillings quite nicely. There was a lot of seasoned steak as the other sauces were not too overpowering. And considering the size of this, it got me quite full as I wasn't hungry until much later in the day. I will say that if you're looking for a reputable small business that offers healthy fresh ingredients, excellent customer service, amazing ambiance in a very desirable area of Reno, I highly recommend giving "Süp" a try. Their selection of salads, sandwiches, bowls, and soups are all wonderful choices as they focus on farm-fresh ingredients. And if time allows, I highly encourage everyone to eat here as I felt right at home during my 45-minute stay. Keep in mind that they are closed on Sunday but are open Monday through Saturday from 11am-9pm. With that said and done, I am giving Süp a perfect five-star review.
When I entered the restaurant we were greeted immediately. My husband and I came here for a quick lunch! It is small inside, but has alot more outdoor seating. We split a turkey pesto sandwich and I'm glad we did since it was pretty big! It comes with a side salad, but I upgraded to the strawberry salad. The sandwich was great! The salad was too, however, I like lighter dressing and it was heavy on the amount. We also got the mushroom cream soup which I would get again! Great overall lunch spot.
I've given Sup multiple reviews because I can't get enough of them! One of my absolute favorite restaurants in town. Friendly staff. Consistent delicious food. Vegan/vegetarian options. A little salad with soul and sandwich is perfection. Tried the miso soup and it was delicious. My 3 year old loved it also. Great amount of tofu (which means a lot because a lot of places skimp on the amount of tofu). Keep up the good work!!
Went to Sup for the first time, it was a little difficult to find parking but that's to be expected in midtown. Ordered at the counter then got the food delivered to a table. I got the combo #2 with the chicken club and a cup of mushroom tom yum soup. Wow the soup blew me away! Really wonderful flavor. The chicken on the sandwich was pretty dry but besides that it was still pretty tasty. My partner got the grilled cheese and that was spectacular. The tomato bisque was just fine in my opinion, but my partner liked it a lot. A bit expensive but you can tell they use quality ingredients. Would come back to try more things!
Blown away by this place. I love healthy food that's also tasty, and when it's priced reasonably, that's the trifecta for me. I got the Thai chicken bowl (minus jalapeños). Everything tasted super fresh. The brown rice and cabbage blend was just the right degree of crunchy and chewy; the carrots, red bell peppers, and edamame were crisp; the chicken was perfectly grilled (you could taste the char) and sesame seeded, and the peanut vinaigrette added a sumptuous touch of sweetness to everything. I also got a cup of scratch-made vegan split pea soup that was likewise very fresh and tasted just right. Doesn't exactly compare to a top-notch non-vegan version (no ham), but very good and satisfying. Staff was super friendly and helpful (and patient), both in explaining the ingredients of some of the soups and bringing our meal to the table. Bonus points for the great lowkey music. Minus points for the parking, though--we couldn't tell where to park other than in one of the three spots along the street (one of which was fortunately open). With so many good, tasty-sounding soups and salads on the menu, I can't wait to come back and try more.
I order the half salad and soup combo, I chose the cranberry salad with chicken and rice soup. I'm very sensitive to anything spicy, so I'm careful when I order. There was nothing in the description of the chicken and rice soup that indicated it was spicy. However it was to spicy for me to eat. Please list the food items in food description better.
I love when the first snow hits.. I automatically go to Süp. It's an amazing mid town staple that I have grown more and more In love with every visit. The staff are enjoyable and patient. I love how they have the streets of reno at table names instead of numbers. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque are my favorite! Small and intimate setting.
Stopped by Süp today, a Friday around noon, and even though it was fairly busy, everything moved quickly and smoothly. We ordered right away, found a spot outside with heat lamps, and had our food in under 10 minutes, which was impressive. The food was delicious. Comforting, flavorful, and just plain yummy. One of those meals where you're happily quiet because you're too busy eating. Mmmm. I went with some family from out of town and they were impressed as well. Parking is always a bit tricky in that area, but there's plenty nearby to walk around and browse, so it's never a dealbreaker. Great food, fast service, and a perfect lunch stop. Highly recommend.
My favorite is getting one of the combo specials. I particularly like the grilled cheese with the soup, little side salad, and a drink. And for $15.99 it's a pretty good deal. The soups rotate so you can try different things. The staff will also let you taste if you are unsure. The butternut squash soup today was excellent. There were some crotons on the top. The flavors of the grilled are mouthwatering and the bread crisped to perfection. I usually end up taking half the sandwich home. The street name markers for seating is always cute and the animal artwork. At busy times it can be difficult to find a seat, specifically when it's a little chilly to eat outside.
Every time when in Reno and I get a chance, I stop to eat here. It's located in the heart of Midtown. It looks like a little house. They have a nice outside patio that overseas people walking in Midtown. You order in the counter and you get your number and they bring the food to you. They serve sandwiches, soups, and salads. I love everything here ! I had multiple items here and they are all so delicious and fresh. All the employees are super friendly and attentive. This last time I went I really enjoyed my lunch on the patio . Overall, I highly recommend this place. I will come back to it every single time because it's that delicious.
I had a few hours between a medical appointment in Reno and my flight taking off so my wife suggested Süp. I'm so glad she did! What a wonderful little restaurant with some fantastic food! Wow! I ordered a grilled cheese combo with some astonishingly good tomato bisque soup! Totally hit the spot! It was a cold day and as I ate, I could see an old lady shivering on a nearby bench so bought her the same thing I was eating to warm her up and provide a brief reprieve. The inside had a warm ambiance with lots of lighter wood. You're given a number on a stick when you order and they bring your meal right out to you. The servers hustled and were quick to clean off recently vacated tables to provide a nice clean spot for future guests. Everything I had was delicious and just what the doctor ordered!

My family was looking for a good meal before heading to the airport and we found this place. The guy at the register was very informative and helped me decide between choosing Ajiaco or Chicken Tortilla Soup. I chose the tortilla soup because I wanted something a little spicier. We also got the melty BLAT, the quiche of the day, a steak sandwich, new england clam chowder, and the artichoke dip. Sandwiches also come with a serving of cranberry salad. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh. Don't forget to buss your own table when you're done! read more

I know süp is beloved in Reno, but I've just never been really impressed unfortunately. One thing I really enjoy is the little side salad and the house made salad dressing. It is flavorful and fresh! Next time I'll just get a big portion of salad and be totally satisfied! 5 stars for that! This time I got the half turkey sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. The soup was gritty and not super flavorful. I feel like it could easily be improved on. The turkey sandwich was a little dry. Dry meat and dry bread just wasn't a great combo. They do have a lot of soups to choose from and I look forward to trying different ones to see what I like better. I think they have great customer service. It's always a friendly welcoming vibe and I appreciate that! read more

This is a great spot for soup and sandwich on a summer or winter day! They have outdoor seating with heaters and the portion sizes are pretty big. I was slightly disappointed they didn't give out the cookies they used to and then again the next time I was there, still no delicious cookie. Overall, they serve the food fast and they have some just okay veggie options but you can pretty much have any of those sandwiches without the meat. I got the BLAT without bacon. Honestly am not surprised because most places do that but I was still charged for the bacon- I feel like the meat is the huge expense so why not offer a sub? read more

The place is over a little small but has seating outside and on the patio. Only thing that I think would help improve the place is making it more accessible for older folks and people who have a hard time going up stairs. The food was super delicious, would definitely recommend trying the grilled cheese combo. We also got the lemon chicken and rice soup that honestly was not that great, it just needed a little more seasoning. The steak and dressing used in the steak salad was super delicious. The service was super quick and the employees are very nice and polite! read more

This a small but wonderful restaurant for sandwiches, salads and soups. Healthy menu. Generous servings for a reasonable price. Staff are attentive and friendly. Ambiance is casual, nothing fancy but clean. They have an indoor area and also a covered patio, too. read more

It's super busy at lunchtime, and there's a reason why. It's so good! I love the salad dressing, so perfectly tangy and sweet. Their soups are amazing, very much like what I would make at home when I have the time to make soup from scratch. Their African peanut stew is worth a try if you like peanut butter! It's full of veggies and so earthy and delicious. I make mine with chicken and a bit more spice but their version is definitely yummy. I just wish parking was better, but it's Midtown! read more
I love Süp always! Great flavor, great staff, and great location but the last time I went I ordered the steak sandwich and was a little surprised with what I got. There was a thin layer of steak and before I knew it, I got to a part of sandwich that had none at all. This was a first for me. read more

Omg how have a driven past this a million times and FINALLY go in!! If you don't go try this place u are definitely doing yourself a disservice!? Portions were HUGE!! prices were GREAT!! They had about 7 homemade soups to choose from, many sandwiches, salads, vegi platters, and more. The broccoli soup was fantastic, and the crawfish one even better! Amazing ambiance Amazing food Amazing staff... I'm a traveler and was craving clam chowder. Staff shared that they had enough left for a cup and due to that they said it is is a Friday made soup and was the last they sweetly gave it without a charge. Amazing and kind!! We were a party of 2 and we ordered a lot and it was alll amazing!!! I can't wait to return in hopes to arrive on a Friday and try the clam chowder again this time though in their bread bowl!! this is probably the beat soup shop ive been to in reno. the quality was astounding and soothing. definitely recommended to order the grilled cheese with extra added turkey with the tomato bisque soup. these are great mouth watering combinations. so delicious. would be back to buy this in bulk next time. the grilled cheese sandwich dipped into the tomato soup was amazing. give it a try. the tuna melt and cheddar broccoli was good, but definitely not better than the other. clean and delicious food. great atmosphere and vibes as well as the employees. if you have not been here, check this spot out. read more
I love soup and I was so glad there's an option to only order soup! I got the chicken noodle soup, and grilled cheese with a side of soup and salad. The grilled cheese was AMAZING! The crispiness of the toast encompassing the thick and gooey cheese filling puts your taste buds on a high. That salad had the balance of sweet and savory with the cheese, cranberries, and dressing. Both soups were bland to my taste, but I was told it was just right for them. Lastly, I wasn't expected to be served a cookie. But it was SO SOFT and not too sweet. I wonder if they sell just the cookie? I'm looking forward to the next time I visit! read more

I'm not one to write reviews, however Süp has been on my list to visit for awhile. For a place that is named after soup, the Broccoli Cheese soup was one of the worst I've had. Watery, orange, gritty, crunchy broccoli. Really disappointed as the sandwich/soup combo was almost $20. read more
I LOVE almost everything about this place. I had a fantastic veggie sandwich that came with a side cranberry salad. My only complaint is that I would absolutely love to have the option to order a half size in this sandwich. My daughter got a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque. Both were fantastic. The soup was super fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is really nice. It's in an old house converted into a restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is also super friendly and accommodating. read more
I've eaten here twice in the last week. Because it's completely on a different side of town from me, I forget how much I love them but try to eat here periodically when it's soup weather. My take out earlier this week was great but eating in person is better even though as regulars know, seating can be difficult especially during the lunch rush so be patient, it's well worth it. My order consisted of the minestrone and grilled cheese (both times hehe) and both times it was great. The grilled cheese was well toasted with the right ooey gooey cheese you'd expect. The minestrone was packed with the best ingredients and was deliciously warm. My daughter had the clam chowder and half of a club, and she pretty much finished the whole thing without me having to nag her (that's a sign of how much she enjoyed it), she even ate her side salad. And the service, everyone is always so polite and helpful. Our plates accidentally were missing the standard cookie and when I mentioned it to one of the servers, he brought us a cookie (and a couple extra) right away. Highly recommend this place, have been coming by for years and they never disappoint. My only request is this: open a Sparks location, please!! read more

Süp is a good place to go for lunch dates/meetings, post workout healthy bite, or a quiet self-care date. It was pretty busy when I went there, but I still received my food in a timely manner. Our sandwiches were a little dry for our liking, but they supplied us with extra Mayo which helped the dishes taste better (to us). They have lots of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The staff was friendly and helpful! read more
Another gem in Reno! Like their name says, they have soup, but the salads and sandwiches are terrific too. We went during lunch on a Friday and there was a line, but it moved quickly and the staff were friendly and efficient. The tomato bisque was the perfect consistency and paired nicely with the grilled cheese, which I got avocado added onto. The side salad that came with was delicious! I'm glad my friends brought me here as I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town! read more
I was ravenous after landing in Reno and I got a recommendation for Sup to grab a light lunch before driving to our final destination. I ordered a grilled cheese with turkey, which really hit the spot and was perfectly toasted; a side salad that seemed like an afterthought; and clam chowder that needed more flavor. I got a surprise of some mini-cookies added to my bag that were a nice treat and really good! Cute shop with indoor and outdoor seating in a busy part of the city. Staff was very friendly also. I'd come back to Sup for sandwiches and more baked goods when I'm in Reno again. read more
Here is another hip place in Midtown judging by the crowds. It has soup and more. Sup is a good place for lunch with the light menu and you won't fill up. Maybe you will if you eat like a bird. They have good options for vegetarians. It looks like this used to be a house. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The place is pretty crowded and sometimes there's a long wait. It has good lighter fare. There's salads and soups. Often their soup changes daily. The last time here they had West African Peanut Stew. A good thing to pair with a soup is a salad, and try have a few to choose from. The one I like is the Cranberry Salad. It's $7.99 for the whole portion. This is made with almonds, cranberries, Gorgonzola, mixed greens, and white balsamic vinaigrette. Get half a salad with a soup in a combo. The combos are about $12 or so. Good healthier food. It is lighter so it's better at lunch. The combos are the best money saver so get one of those. read more

Be aware: Staff change the tip amount and forge your signatures!!!! That's an identity theft and bank fraud. People expect 20% on takeout and yet they don't put the extra sauces you paid for, or they barely put any avocado even though you paid $4 for it! P.S. The restaurant obviously refunded my order but I really hope that people who are responsible for this get fired. read more

How have I never tried this place before. I always drive by and wonder why it's always busy. Well now I know and I'm so glad I tried this spot. This place is amazing! I arrived right before the lunch rush at 11:30am and I'm so glad I did because the line was out the door to the sidewalk. If you can avoid the lunch rush, I would highly recommend it. Their menu consists of salads, sandwiches, and soups. This is a great spot for those with dietary restrictions, there is something for Vegans, Vegetarians, and Gluten free folks. The menu highlights which menu items are good for those with dietary restrictions. This was very helpful for me since I don't eat gluten. They also have great combo options so you can get a sandwich, salad, and/or soup in one meal. The spot: This is a cute restaurant located in Midtown. It has some indoor seating and a great outdoor patio with plenty of seating. They also have outdoor heaters too. If you call in an order for pickup, they have a curbside pickup parking lot available in the back of the restaurant. It's only accessible from Saint Lawrence Ave. The food: OMG, I'm obsessed with the Strawberry Salad! Mixed greens, topped with balsamic strawberries, gorgonzola cheese, sliced almonds, and white balsamic vinaigrette. I never knew I loved white balsamic vinaigrette until I tried this one. It pairs with this salad so nicely. I love pepperoncinis on my salad so I added it to give the salad some extra crunch and tangy flavor. I also added their grilled chicken, because why not. It was perfect! This salad with strawberries is only seasonal, so when they don't have strawberries they switch to dried cranberries. This salad is so good, I've only ordered the large size. Trust me, it's that good and worth it. I tried a cup of Loaded Baked Potato soup! Topped with cheddar cheese and crunchy bacon. It was to die for! I love that they have so many different flavors of soup available every day. They also have a rotating soup menu that is only available certain days of the week, all of their soups are listed on their website. Be sure to try some of their amazing soups. My mom tried The Club sandwich. She loved the rosemary chicken breast and the garlic mustard aioli. The cheddar bread was fresh and soft. A really great Club sandwich! She made it a combo and got the cranberry salad and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. Everything was amazing! Each meal comes with a house baked cookie. They're oatmeal chocolate chip and are NOT gluten free. I hear they're pretty tasty! The drinks: They have a fridge loaded with sodas, juices, water, and beer. They also have a soda machine and a water station available too. I'm already thinking about my next visit! Looking forward to trying more menu items. Definitely try this spot if you haven't already. It's an excellent lunch spot! read more
Stoped at Sup while visiting MidTown in Reno. They have tons of healthy homemade fresh food options. Soup, Salad, bowls, and sandwiches. They also have Vegan, and Gluten free options as well. I had the Minestrone soup. It was delicious. It had lots of beans and vegetables. The service was very fast and everyone there was super friendly. Loved the ambiance. They had Indoor seating. As well as outdoor patio and lawn seating over looking the Mid town district. Loved the vibe! I would definitely come back again when visiting Reno. read more

Finally took the time to come try this place, and I would 100% say it lives up to the hype. Which definitely explains why it's always busy. I personally love the casual vibe, you come up to the register and order your food, pick your own seating, and food is brought to you! I like the reno street names as table names, what a cool detail! Also, friendly service with a charismatic staff. AND OF COURSE- let's get to the food. I got the turkey pesto (I believe) & broccoli cheddar soup combo, which also happens to come with a very nice side salad. Great value and great portions. But I have to say... YALL. THE SOUP IS WHAT YOURE COMING HERE FOR. That broccoli cheddar even on a HOT day, is nothing short of magical. Only complaint is the parking, but midtown is always a headache in this regard. And I think it would be nice if all the outdoor seats provided covering from the sun. Eat here, guys. Eat here. read more
