Updating my review to add some photos. This is my favorite Chinese place for chicken/beef dishes. Service is always super quick.

Service was wonderful! So polite and friendly. The fish tanks are beautiful and the decor is lovely, so clean and elegant. Nice and quiet place to have a meal, relax and unwind with a generous sized cocktail. This was my first time here, I am definitely coming back!! Portions leave enough for take home, even if you're as hungry as I was when I got here! There is serenity here.

First time here, located on Moana St. Not much to look at outside the building but nice aquariums inside and looks newer in the dining room possibly remodeled recently. Lunch specials start at $14 includes soup or salad, an entree with white or fried rice and an egg roll. Service good, pretty quick to get our food after we ordered. I had the sweet and sour chicken, very good sized pieces of chicken breast. Quite a lot of sauce and very sweet. Loved the pineapple, the crunchy red and green peppers added to the dish. The fried rice not the best had a lot of soy sauce in it, not real flavorful. I enjoyed the salad with a light sesame dressing and crunchy noodles. The egg roll mostly wrapper not much inside it. As usual took half home, the BF enjoyed it later!

Omg this place is underrated. The meat dishes are delicious. We had take out last night and it did not disappoint.

Turns out I stop by a lot of places on a whim, and szechuan gardens is no acception. My wife's tattoo shop is near there, and this place caught my eye on the way.  Just FYI, I ordered take out, and ate it as soon as I got home a half an hour later. The food was still hot and steamy.  I ordered the same things I usually try out at new places, general chicken and pork fried rice. The total for two standard size takeout containers was $32.48, a little steep for takeout  My initial response to the price in combination with the small takeout containers was a little bit of a sticker shock, to be honest. Other places give you heaping Styrofoam containers bursting at the seams, but not here. I was not expecting two smaller items to be that much.  I told my wife on the way home "if this isn't some of the best takeout I've ever had, I'm gonna be really disappointed." I was NOT disappointed....this is some of the best takeout I've ever had, and I want to see what else they have. These things were cooked PERFECTLY.  The general chicken (which I asked to be extra spicy) wasn't thickly breaded, wasn't crispy. It was meaty, thick pieces of juicy chicken, and the very thin breading it had was the perfect vehicle for the amazing sauce. With breading that's too thick, this dish gets soggy and gloppy. Breading too crispy, it's hard to chew through. This was PERFECT. Tangy, spicy, flavorful, with different kinds of chili and green onion scattered throughout. Absolutely some of the best general chicken I've ever had.  The pork fried rice was absolutely textbook. Full of veggies, snappy peas and semi crispy carrots, lots of chopped pork, egg, with perfectly seasoned rice. My wife thought it needed a little soy sauce for it to be perfect, but I thought it was great as is.  We absolutely want to go back and see what else these folks can knock out of the park. Speaking of the folks who work here, waaaaaay polite and kind, offered me something to drink while I waited, got my food to me with a smile and made me feel welcome.  4 out of 5 stars. One star off for the expense and smaller portions....but I don't care. I'm absolutely going back.

Always consistent and service is excellent!! They have great chili paste and chili oil here!! Great hot and sour soup and egg rolls are always fresh!!!

The Wok is one of those places, and Sichuan/Chongqing food is one of those things that I'm jealous of people who get to experience it for the first time. Here's how to have an epic time at The Wok: Step 1. Get 4 to 8 people total that aren't afraid to try something a little different and maybe slightly spicy (seriously though it's not actually that spicy). If you need help with this step message me, I'd share a meal with some random people if it's at The Wok. Step 2. Flip to the back page of the menu, and order a few things that sound good to the group. Don't waste your time with the American Chinese menu (even though what I've had off of that menu is actually really good too). Make sure to get a decent mix of stuff like appetizers, veggies, noodle, soup, and meat dishes. Also don't be afraid to order multiple times. This gives you more time with the menu, and you can judge what sounds good in the moment. Step 3. Share the food family style with everyone until you are all full. I think at this point I've eaten everything on the Sichuan menu, and can say that if it sounds good to you, it is! Some of my favorite dishes are: Wontons in Chili oil, Bone in chicken wings, Spicy boiled fish fillet, Beef noodle soup, Green beans, Salt and Pepper tofu, Dan dan noodles, and Mapo Tofu. Finally, Janet (the manager) is amazing, and always willing to give a recommendation.

From start to finish, it was an outstanding epicurean delight…read more Our group of five fierce women completely and absolutely enjoyed every moment and every bite of the beautifully presented dishes. The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. My favorite three were the ahi tuna, the black cod and the brilliant asian/french mash up of red Bean Creme Brulee. I also need to mention, I loved the lamb tenderloin. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. Even though Kwok's is right across the street from where I live, this restaurant would be at the top of my list of "I would drive out of my way to eat here"

To start, you can't go wrong with the enthusiastic welcome we always receive. Then quickly seated and wine poured. The 2026 CNY menu was fabulous, with some great surprises. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

We ordered the Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken, Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun, and Gai Lan with Beef. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. With "Hong Kong Diner" in the name, I was expecting authentic Cantonese stir-fries with good wok hei. Unfortunately, the Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun lacked that signature smoky flavor, and the texture was closer to lo fun than traditional chow fun. The Gai Lan with Beef also lacked wok hei. The outer layer of the gai lan stems had been peeled away, so the stems lost the crisp texture that makes gai lan so enjoyable. The Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken was overly tender and quite salty. It seemed to be marinated so heavily that I couldn't really taste the natural flavor of the chicken. Overall, the restaurant offers generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service. I just wish the Cantonese dishes had delivered the wok hei I was expecting from a place with "Hong Kong Diner" in its name. :)

We decided to make it our next date night spot. We went on a Friday around 5:30 and it wasn't very crowded yet. They asked if we preferred a table or a booth, and we went with a booth near the front. The restaurant itself is really nice, but I'll say the booth felt a little tight. Next time, we'll probably go with a table for a bit more space. The service was top notch. The staff was incredibly attentive, and our drinks were constantly refilled. Our glasses were never empty, which always stands out. About 15 minutes after we sat down, the place filled up fast. It seemed like most people coming in had reservations, so I'd definitely recommend making one if you're planning to go after 6 pm. We decided on the Shanghai Dinner. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, and my wife got the sweet and sour chicken. I was tempted by the cashew chicken and kung pao chicken, but we'll save those for next time. The appetizers were amazing. The meal comes with spring rolls, crab rangoon, paper wrapped chicken, and honey glazed BBQ spareribs. Everything was delicious. My wife loved the paper wrapped chicken, and for me, the ribs were the standout. They were tender with just the right hint of sweetness. Honestly, I could've eaten a full plate of just those and been happy. For sides, I had the egg flower soup, which was really flavorful, and my wife had the salad. She could not stop talking about how good the dressing was. Both the sweet and sour pork and chicken were great. The sauce had that perfect tangy, slightly sweet flavor. That said, next time we probably won't order the same sauce for both dishes. I think pairing something like sweet and sour with kung pao would give a better balance with a little heat to cut through the sweetness. Overall, this place is a winner. Great food, solid portions, and the price is very reasonable at about $33 per person for the Shanghai Dinner. My wife enjoyed everything so much that after seeing another table order the duck, she's already talking about coming back to try it. I've been trying to get her to try duck for a while, so I'm looking forward to that next visit. We'll definitely be back.
