Last night we thought we should try the one in Cedar Park It was 12/26, so they had a decent crowd. Looking at the menu and ambiance, I am surprised they are that busy. After we got our food, I think they are busy because their price range is decent for Cedar Park. Not too expensive. The chicken and vegetables soup, tasted so simple like it is made for someone who is sick at home. Not good. The sauce on my crusted salmon, was so gooey, it is not restaurant standard and quality. Not presentable. All just barely okay. All in all, I think we will keep going to Pappadeaux. High quality food, worth the price even though they are more expensive. read more

Jack Allen's Kitchen in Cedar Park was overall a pretty good experience! My friends and I went during the weekend and there was no wait for a table. The restaraunt was very spacious and clean and had professional and attentive servers who gave great recommendations. I had the gumbo and Cajun pork. The gumbo was spicy and delicious, and the Cajun pork was tasty, but a little bland. I would order a different item the next time I visit, but I would definitely visit again! read more

JAK always provides friendly service and a nice atmosphere - casual but fairly upscale. On a nice day as sit on their patio, it isn't huge, but it has retractable shades that can be adjusted, depending on where the sun is. They are home to my favorite salad anywhere, the trout salad with goat cheese and pecans. They supplement it with some rice, which makes it hardy enough to be a filling meal. My first visit was a spontaneous one, that coincided with happy hour, so I at the "U" shaped bar. I was greeted by the bartender and given a menu, but the staff were changing shifts and it took a bit longer to have my order taken. I couldn't resist ordering the special margarita made with blood oranges which was so good I had a second one. Sticking to lighter fare, I ordered the house salad with ranch vinaigrette and the barbacoa quesadilla with slaw. Both were flavorful, fresh and not overly priced. I ordered another house salad and the soup special, a robust barbacoa stew, to take home to my guy, which he enjoyed! Comfortable atmosphere and plush leather bar stools let me enjoy my meal while watching multiple TV screens or contemplating the large interesting Johnny Cash painting hung by the bar area booths. Love Jack Allen's! Especially the 1/2 price appetizers during happy hour! Arriving at about 5:15 pm, the restaurant was fairly slow. The decor and staff are welcoming, so I always feel relaxed when I walk in the door. We had stopped by for a drink and an appetizer but when we learned of the 1/2 price apps and $1 off drinks, we ordered 2 apps (crunchy catfish and layered queso) plus 2 drinks (cucumber jalapeño margarita & prickly pear margaritas with jalapeño). Our server, Faith, was wonderful - friendly, helpful, cheerful and attentive. I love the complimentary pimento cheese and all the amazing foods. Was visiting Austin for a friend's baby shower and decided to brunch here with the gals. Distinctively remember loving the French toast (lemon ricotta). Honestly I feel it's one of the best ive had. But to be fair I don't do brunch a lot. My avocado toast to with eggs was perfect. The house potatoes are cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, squishy on the inside. Great food that's reasonably priced. Staff is generally friendly with good service. Place can get crowded and there can be some ling wait times. However one can make reservations and you are normally seated within 5 minutes of your time. Inside is nice and I like the vibe. However when it's crowded, it can be loud which isn't my thing. We arrived 5P on a Sunday. No wait, plenty of parking. Still a busy restaurant. This is my second time coming to Jack Allen's. I love the made from scratch locally sourced menu. We were greeted immediately and had the option to choose our table. That is such a bonus for me! Our waiter Matt arrived within a minute of us sitting down. He took our drink order, highlighted the specials for the day which we ordered. We had a perfect high top table in the bar area. Matt was attentive, but gave us our privacy. Being raised in a Central American home. The fried cheese on the Birria short rib tacos was absolutely on point. The Fried Honey Siracha Chicken with the yummy Cole Slaw, both appetizers but plenty for a light dinner for two. Mexican Martinis were ok. My preference is always watch my martini being freshly made. As soon as you walk in, there's wall decor of farms, fresh veggies, and cocktails reminding you that it's a farm to table! We made a reservation and we're promptly seated 10 minutes before. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and humorous. Things I recommend on the menu- 1. Avocado toast- the sourdough was perfect, the balsamic around the plate added a unique kick but wasn't overpowering. The best fried pork chop you will ever have! Period! There is no changing my mind! I stumbled upon Jack Allen's while visiting a few friends in Cedar Park. I'd never heard of Jack Allen's and wanted to try something different. My husband and I walked in and were seated within seconds. We joked with our waitress for a few minutes while she took our order. (The service is great) We both decided on the fried pork chop with a side of veggies and mashed potatoes. While we waited for our food, our waitress brought us a pimento cheese and cracker appetizer sample. It was so good. You definitely are left wanting more. Well played Jack Allen's, well played. Our food arrived after a few minutes. The first bite was so amazing I thought I heard Angels singing. It's that good. I don't know how they managed to get the perfect flavorful crispy bite on the outside and a juicy chop on the inside. I don't think I've ever eaten so fast. Normally good food, especially the fish and chips. Tonight the burger was ordered well done and it was red inside. The server off to remake it but my husband was almost finished eating. I don't like to have him sit and wait so I just ate the fries and the outside of the burger. Why do they think you want to eat alone? Just cook it right the first time. We ate at Jack Allen's this afternoon as it is our favorite restaurant. Each time we eat there , we are reminded why it's our favorite. Have NEVER got a bad meal or bad service and today was no exception. Amanda was our server and was an absolute pleasure. We had the brunch migas and breakfast sandwich , which were excellent. My family of 3 only waited about 10-15 minutes on a Friday night. That's very good for Cedar Park. This was our first visit and we heard good things. Theres plenty of parking in the big shopping center and around the restaurant. The staff was great. Our server was attentive. We each tried 3 different items and got the queso dip with salsa as an appetizer. It was tasty, delicious and fresh. Our entrees were great. I personally had the chicken fried chicken and the entire plate was easily taken care of. The service was also quick and a busy night and the venue itself is nice and lit, with a ranch/modern look. They serve Coke products at this location, I always find that it's good to note that. I would definitely recommend this location and I'll return now that I live a couple miles away. read more

I find this particular location of Jack Allen's especially wonderful. I appreciate the industrial farmhouse decor and overall ambiance. The restaurant is clean and tasteful. The service is fantastic! During our most recent visit, our waiter went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable for my family, especially my 4 year old. She brought her special coloring books and crayons to keep her occupied the whole time. She also patiently answered several questions and provided good recommendations. I ordered the fish tacos and highly recommend them! They are very flavorful and come with a side of super yummy rice, beans and slaw. My husband & dad ordered the Trout and enjoyed it very much. Drinks never got refilled and when my 22 year old daughter wanted a drink but didn't have her ID I ordered it for her and they told me she couldn't have it. In the state of Texas as her parent I can order a drink for her. I will never come back here and would not recommend this place to anyone. The food was ok. We got there for lunch on a Saturday and they were only doing brunch which was a disappointment because we were looking forward to stuff that was on the lunch menu. This is a review for bad service and I'm looking forward for corporate at Jack Allen's Kitchen to take this seriously. Today we decided to go to the CP location for lunch, we arrived roughly around 1pm. Full restaurant at lunch time on Sunday but we got a table right away. We ordered the green chile hamburger, mac and cheese and the tampiquena steak. Server was not rushing us for our order, asked us for drinks and we waited. After +20 mins of wait food arrives. And this is when things take a turn: my wife notices that the portion of the tampiquena steak looked less than what she ordered a week ago on the same location and she tells the server that portion size is not ok for the price ($20). The server visible annoyed rushes her to give her plate with a very rude attitude waving her hand to pass the plate. My wife rightfully reacts to his attitude by saying "excuse me" and the server insists with the same hand gesture. Then is when my wife said that she doesn't want anything and asks to take the plate away. No apologies, nothing. The server was not a teenager, he was a middle age man so there is no excuse for lacking manners. We ask for the check and boxes to go for the rest of the food. About a minute later the server comes back with the check and the boxes and no apology. As we are getting ready the manager shows up (here I had to ask if he was the manager, as a manager he never introduced himself) I explain the situation with the issue with my wife's plate and the sever and the manager just goes around saying that food is weighted before cooking. Seriously? suddenly a common restaurant complaint that gets resolved by saying "yes, ma'am we will get sorted this right away, our apologies" turns in to an attempt to justify how the kitchen works, again no apologies. It's very unfortunate that a server and also a manager showed zero empathy and basic service skills to make sure a customer walks away from the restaurant thinking that is coming back for another day. This was never about how much we were paying, this is 2025 and for a restaurant of the category of Jack Allen's you expect to pay for something overpriced but at least served correctly. This is just hospitality 101 and make the customer feel heard and so everything possible to keep the customer happy. Jack Allen's Kitchen for sure needs to retrain their staff for better customer experience. read more

We looked up restaurants on Google and Yelp for "dog friendly" restaurants and Jack Alien's in Cedar Park was recommended. When we arrived, the hostess stated only service dogs were permitted, all other animals were not. When we shared that Yelp and Google highlighted "dog friendly" location, the hostess blankly stated that she couldn't control Yelp or Google. I understand when policy doesn't align with public information....just be kind and not so rude. We ended moving our party of 5 to Moonshines in Aus/cedar Park. Food was great! Jack Allen's has really good food. It's interesting and unique so you don't feel like you're eating at a chain. The biscuits were phenomenal and really made my brunch memorable. We took my in-laws from South Dakota there and they felt like they were getting an authentic Texas experience. The desserts really steal the show when they've got the best ones. If they have coconut cream pie when you go, get it for your appetizer and dessert! The service has always been good. The bartenders make good drinks.
