Y'all, I love a good happy hour! I definitely love a good happy hour that has great service, yummy drinks and delicious food! Jack Allen's never disappoints! Jack Allen's has half off all appetizers and a dollar off all cocktails and wine. And Monday night has great happy hour deals. Anywho, I had the house red wine and we ordered several of the happy hour appetizers. My favorites were the chips and salsa and the barbacoa quesadilla. It was so delicious and I will be ordering that again. You'll have to try that quesadilla! Most of all, Our servers were the best. We had two, One was in training and you could not even tell. She did great! They were friendly, attentive and prompt. I'm looking forward to many more happy hours at Jack Allen's kitchen

Dude what???? Who know a random chain restaurant would have one of the best enchiladas I have ever tasted? Was it because it was Barbacoa? Was it the mojito I had? Or the fact I was starving?? Who knows? What I do know is that it was delicious. Now, the rice and beans were chain restaurant vibes, but I was so pleasantly surprised by the enchiladas. Kaylee took great care of us and excited to go back next time I'm in Austin. We also combined the blueberry lemonade w a vodka shot, was yummy and then they made me a black cherry mojito, also yummy.

Came here for the first time, and wasn't impressed. The place was nice and clean. The staff did a good job serving. I am not a fan of the dish I ordered. While I'd give it a 9 for appearance, the taste was more around 6.7. It just didn't do it for me. Not sure I'll return. Maybe if someone invites me.

Came here to celebrate a kid's birthday and had a great experience. One child in our group has severe food allergies, and the staff handled it with incredible care and patience. The manager even came over to help us walk through the menu and recommend safe options, which we really appreciated. The food was excellent--from the crispy flatbread to the salmon and baked pasta with chicken. To top it off, the birthday boy got a surprise on-the-house cake and ice cream. Thoughtful service, great food, and a place we'd happily return to.

Christmas dinner with friends. Server Courtney was superb. Guacamole and salsa appetizer was excellent. Entrees of Horseradish crusted salmon and redfish daily special were superb. Friends enjoyed the pimento cheese appetizer as well as the chicken fried pork chop and the crab cake daily special. Turning down the lights 2 levels was too much.

This place is consistent good. And we frequent here on Fridays for our standard end of week fare. Best food happy hour in town. And service is always . We went here during their happy hour (3:30-6:30pm M-F) and stuck with their happy hour items and we got super full. Appetizer is 1/2 off and drinks are $1 off and I believe $4 off wine bottle. We always enjoy their barbacoa quesadilla and guac on the appetizers menu. Kids menu options are great too. Our son always loves their kids Mac & cheese but today he got cheese quesadilla. Portion is small but would be perfect if yours doesn't eat much. It comes with a side of fries or fruits and includes a drink.

Excellent brunch menu! I made a reservation and got a great booth on the side with a great view but still quiet enough to hear my dining partner. We started with the guacamole and chips and it was fantastic. They don't skimp on the amount or put annoying strips of lettuce underneath to add volume. It was the perfect start to the day. We all settled on the same dish: the ruby red trout. I would say it's the best thing on the menu; flavorful, plenty, and affordable. For dessert, we tried the apple crumble with ice cream. Though I normally don't crave apple desserts, the apple crumble was salty sweet and the ice cream was my favorite because it tasted homemade. Jack Allen's is a favorite of mine but this was my first brunch there and my out of town guest loved it.

Bang Bang Shrimp special

Stopped in for a late lunch and was not disappointed. I ordered the special of bang bang shrimp bowl with Asian slaw and fried rice= deliciousness. Bartender, Lisa, was on point with great friendly service, energy and made the Tito's sage and grapefruit cocktail with a splash of soda, very good! I will be back.

We've been coming to Jack Allen's for about a year now, and Amanda has consistently been our favorite waitress. Her service is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which is why we specifically request her whenever we visit. She always makes sure everything is perfect and makes the whole dining experience feel special. Amanda is a big reason we keep coming back!

You can't go wrong by visiting Jack Allens. All items are curated to burst flavors of goodness in every bite. Today I had the tacos and pancakes. Though two extremes, both very delicious. Service was perfect and your food comes out in a timely manner and as always a memorable meal.

This place is not worth the hype. Everything we ordered from the appetizers to the entrees was either bad or "meh." I think they're trying to do too much, and they're not "good" at anything. The ingredients seem good, but the flavors are off. For my entree, I had the Stewed Chicken Tinga Tacos, and they were just okay. I don't think I'll be back.

I really enjoyed my time here! Food was excellent! Especially the pimento cheese! This is a MUST try! I'm pretty picky when it comes to my pimento cheese, I loved my mother's and I rarely come across someone else's recipe that I like! Service was great! Our waitress was kind, friendly and full of suggestions. The restaurant was full, but quiet and also clean! I had the soup of the day, Poblano chicken was tasted amazing! Homemade and fresh! We tried the biscuits and while we did like them, they were a little too heavy. The kids cheeseburger was very tasty and the fries were nice and crispy on the outside! Also had the Barbados enchiladas and enjoyed every bite! The Migas were also enjoyed! I had the mango habanero margarita, the bartender was a heavy pourer and made this drink EXACTLY the way I like it! Jack Allen's Kitchen did not disappoint and we can wait to go back!

Taco Apetizer

This place was quite tasty! We were seated right when we walked in and were served by a girl who was filling in for our very busy server. We started off with water and then our real server greeted us. The ambiance was great, perfect music volume and songs. Our server made suggestions I was not so crazy about aka Fish and I decided not to get that. Instead, we ordered the steak queso fajitas and some appetizers and they were great!

Ask the Community - Jack Allen's Kitchen

Is their pet friendly patio open this week?

They have a narrow outdoor area but unsure if they allow pets.

Do they still have happy hour specials?

Yes, their apps are half off and I believe the drinks are $1 less.

Any gluten free dishes?

They do. My friend that is GF usually orders salmon. Not sure if they have more than one salmon dish but the one she gets is delicious so if you like salmon you should be good to go!

I'm kicking myself that I've missed out on the last 5 years! So obviously this is my first time in. I walked in, not knowing what to expect. A lady behind the bar made eye contact with me, greeted me & said sit wherever you want. A lot of tables were taken. There were a couple open, But I'm solo, so I sat up at the bar. Another lady came over and started chatting with me like we were old friends, which I love. God Bless Texas! She was telling me everything is good, you're not going to be disappointed. Burgers are fabulous. And so on. Once she said waffles, I was in! She wondered off cleaning and helping other patrons. I looked over the menu, saw chicken and waffles. I was sold! A young man came over and asked if I had a drink in mind. I said yes. Mexican Coke. Would you believe I've never had Mexican Coke before. It's true. This was my first, right here at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers. Memories being made. To be honest, I don't drink soda much at all. I also said I was ready with my food order too. Chicken and waffles. He said good choice, it's a big Texas shaped waffle (love it) with a big piece of fried chicken. He put my order in and gave me my Coke in a bottle. No fountain type drink. Felt like an 80's Coke commercial with a real glass bottle. Feeling fancy. Since I'm solo, I put my ear phones in and listened to my own music. A little Lenny Kravitz, American Women, if you're interested in what I was listening to. My plate came out, and Oh ! My ! Word !!! Chicken & waffle big as my plate. I nearly cried, gasped, unbelievable! Seriously, this was a solid breakfast, and now I'm really bummed I've missed out for 5 years! I joined the clean plate club even though I was completely stuffed. Chicken was tender, juicy, hot and fried perfectly. Light crispy, not greasy. So, so good. The waffle was light & fluffy, but once I smeared the butter on it and soaked it with syrup, I put the chicken back on top of the waffle and cut away at both. Solid breakfast. Completely epic. Enjoyed every bite. Was in my own little world with my music and good food and an amazing Mexican soda. The service, way top notch. I felt like family. The young man that took my order, Alvaro M, totally chill with me, we talked a little about ourselves. And that I never knew this was here even though I drive by on 620 for work. Truly, great service. As a solo diner, it's nice to have human contact. Even though I had my ear phones in 1 ear, so I could still hear and interact. Had the best service, food, interaction. Couldn't have asked for a better first impression. Can't wait to come back. Parking lot is pretty large. So you shouldn't have a problem finding a place. This seems like an off the beat residential neighborhood with a lot of RV parks, and boat launching area. Like I said, hidden gem!

I grew up eating (and later making) really good chicken fried steak. So I didn't come in casual. I came in ready to evaluate. First things first: this spot is tucked into a strip mall, and if you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it. Keep your eyes open. Walking in, though? Completely different story. The vibe is laid-back, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. Midday on a Wednesday meant it was nice and quiet; no wait, no chaos. Drinks were simple - Mexican Coke for me (always a win), fountain Pepsi for my lunchmate. (it's always nice when they have both options) We both ordered the chicken fried steak because of course we did. That's what brought us here. Sides: Me: green beans + mashed potatoes Them: salad + mashed potatoes Gravy situation: Me: classic Them: chorizo gravy Food came out quickly, which I always appreciate. Let's break it down honestly: The breading on the chicken fried steak? Perfection. Crispy, well done, exactly what you want. The meat itself? That's where things fell short. It needed more tenderizing--cutting into it took effort, and the texture leaned dense and chewy instead of that tender, fork-friendly bite you're hoping for. On top of that, it was missing seasoning, which made the whole thing feel a little flat despite that beautiful crust. The chorizo gravy (per my lunchmate)? Solid. Good flavor. But even that couldn't fully make up for the lack of seasoning in the meat. Sides were a mixed bag. Flavor was there--but mine had noticeable cold spots, like they'd been reheated unevenly. My lunchmate's sides were warm, but not quite hot. Now here's where they win big: The service. Top notch across the board. Everyone was kind, attentive, and welcoming without hovering. The owner even came by to chat for a bit - super friendly, clearly passionate, and we genuinely enjoyed the conversation and hearing about the food. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. Overall? I'd come back. But next time, I'm switching it up. The owner confidently recommended the waffles, and after that conversation, I'm willing to give them a shot. Because while the chicken fried steak didn't quite hit the mark for me this time, the people and the atmosphere? Absolutely worth another visit.

If you're hoping for an intimate conversation about your feelings, you might want to snag a table outside. Inside, it's lively enough that you'll be reading lips more than listening. But hey, the outdoor seating is lovely, so problem solved! Here's where things get a little greasy--literally. First Watch proudly markets itself as a champion of fresh, whole ingredients and quality cooking. I've been a fan for exactly that reason. But on my most recent visit, something was... off. The food had this noticeably greasier quality, and I'm pretty confident they switched to a cheaper cooking oil (canola or similar vegetable oil, if I had to guess). For context: certain oils don't agree with me--they trigger migraines and general unwellness. And sure enough, within hours, I was both nauseous and nursing a headache. Not exactly the "fresh start" First Watch promises. Everything else was solid, but I can't give five stars when a restaurant's practice doesn't match its principles. If you're sensitive to oils or generally avoid the cheaper varieties, proceed with caution or ask about their current cooking oil before ordering anything fried or sautéed. Still love the concept--just hoping they get back to their roots (and better oils).

Decided to try one of their NEW breakfast items (*and asked server, and she said it was good), was the Chimichurri Steak and Eggs hash! OMG...soo good! Comes with steak, eggs (*how you like it...I did scrambled), peppers, onions, spinach, feta, garlic aioli and chimichurri sauce! Soo much great flavors! I don't know if this only be "seasonal", but hope they add to menu. Thank you again for great food and great service! Will be back!
