This is a great place to go for something a little different, seasonal, to bring visitors or just a evening out. I do like how their menus occasionally change to try new things. Dinner is always good so We decided to try their brunch. We were able to get in right away on the weekend which I was surprised. The chips and salsa are my favorite starter here. I normally don't like Parmesan cheese but there recipe is so good I highly recommend. As for the brunch, the avocado toast was a little different, but it was good and feeling. The pancakes I would pass on next time for both flavor and price. I was a little disappointed, I wanted the breakfast sandwich, which comes with scrambled eggs, but chef would not, and by the waitress, he does not, do substitutions. Other than that, staff was nice. I know it's not something they can change easy, but the booths are not an easy fit for some. I'm fine, but I've been with a group of big dudes and a few larger folks, they were not comfortable. So, Jack Allen's has graced CEDAR PARK with their presence and they definitely didn't disappoint which is something to be be expected of this amazing restaurant! We had the privilege of being served by Mike, Mike is a Capricorn and enjoys lifetime movies and Starbucks! Lol he was amazing! Very knowledgeable, witty and recommendations and explanations were spot on! We had the pimento cheese app obviously and the Queso to start , I ordered the special which were ribs beer braised by a local brewing company with a sweet and spicy Q, loaded mashed casserole, as well as slaw! Super delicious and filling, my wife does the 5 cheese Mac and adds friend chicken tenders to it, my son got the killer cheese burger and devoured it !! My mother-in-law went with the the pork medallions and they were amazing!! The loaded potato soup was filling and hit the spot even though it's 109 degrees outside!!! We had the spinach gorgonzola ravioli and crab-stuffed chicken and they were very savory! At the recommendation of our server Dillon, we got the mounds candy bar pie as dessert and it did not disappoint. It literally tasted like the candy bar. The service was really great and would highly recommend this restaurant location for anyone traveling through the Cedar Park area. Absolutely amazing. Went there around 11 ish on Mother's Day amidst heavy rains with my daughter. We sat at the bar as we didn't make reservations ahead. Impeccable service , food and drinks. That place gets busy and very family oriented so good to book ahead I ordered the eggs Benedict, and my daughter ordered the French toast. The new Jack's in Cedar Park has only been opened about a week. When I found they were opened for lunch, I was there. It is located where Logan's used to be. Parking was decent and I managed to snag a front row space. I was first in line and the hostess asked if I would like a High Top. No, thank you, short people don't like Hi-Tops. So I was seated close to the front door. Once seated my server, Ryan, came by. He brings me my wrapped silverware and I asked about a menu. He pointed out they use a QR code. I ask for a unsweet tea and heads off. No worries, pulled out my phone and started scanning the QR code. Five tries later it is still not pulling up a menu. So Ryan arrives with my drinks and sees my frustration and runs to get a menu. I would like to point out at this point Ryan was fantastic. I decide on the Killer Cheeseburger. Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, Lettuce, tomato, and onions. I tell him to hold the tomatoes. He goes to play my order. I go back to try to get the QR to work. I have never had the menu not show up on a QR scan. Still no luck. People started to pile in now. Two men to my right having lunch but barely speaking to each other. Across from me was three women and a man. One elderly woman in a walker asked for a mask from the hostess. Once she came back with a mask, the older woman put it on under here chin and never pulled it up. Cheap way to get a free mask. My food arrives. It is served on a cafeteria metal tray. I try a sweet potato fry first, soft but good. Cut my burger in half to try to feed it neatly. I failed. The dressing dripped on my shirt. I did have to add salt/pepper to burger as I liked well seasoned meat. It was a good burger as I dripped more dressing on my shirt again. There was a small container of garlic aioli not sure why. So I dipped my fries in it. Food was good, serve was great, prices were high but now a days all pricing seems high. I would come back again. read more

We ate at Blue Corn Harvest last night. Which is cheaper and so much better. Blue Corn is our go-to but we thought we'd try this new spot across the street sort of. After waiting for 50 mins on a sat night i was surprised at how aiite the food was. We had pork medallions stuffed with chorizo served with smash potatoes and sautéed vegetables. I didn't need to chew any of it. The texture of the stuffed part was kind of slimy and off putting. The burger texture was also super weird. The bread felt undercooked and the lettuce was shredded so the cheeseburger didn't need to be chewed either. The guacamole was yummy and had amazing texture but the main dishes we had were not that great. Service was fine. With Blue Corn so close, we'll definitely be going there instead of Jack Allen's. But if we were 50 miles from Blue Corn, we'd go here and bring our own texture to add. Lol read more

I have been wanting to try this place forever. I was so excited when we passed by and decided to stop in for some food. Too bad the feeling didn't last too long... We were expecting a long line and a wait but that wasn't the case at all which was nice. We were seated quickly and the host was very nice. We took the menus to glance at and decided on our meals hoping for some really good food - for the prices especially. We were not impressed much at all. My husband ordered the Chicken and Biscuits which is a brunch special. Out comes two store bought biscuits with a small piece of chicken and a tiny amount of their sauce. He was hungry so he ate it but it was nothing out of the ordinary and it was extremely overpriced. I ordered the Baja-Style Fish Tacos, there were two tiny tacos that were dried out served with tasteless rice and beans. I was soo disappointed. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Austin, and delighted they have a location in Cedar Park. The service is always good, food is consistent and delicious, and they always have off the menu specials each time we've gone in. This location is beautifully decorated, and there is ample seating all over the restaurant. Favorite menu items include the Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken Fried Chicken (Classics!), Crab Stuffed Chicken, and the Carne Guisada Tacos. Don't forget to try out the house made pimento cheese-it's incredible. Remember the old hot sauce commercial when the granny says "I put that *** on everything?" Yea-that's what I do with Jack Allen's pimento cheese-it's that good . JA is also a great location to do a business lunch, or take friends/family out to eat. First time eating at a jack Allen's kitchen. I sat in the bar area and waited almost 8 minutes to be recognized by my waitress, I ordered a mango margarita and I was told that I would get a habanero mango margarita, but she would just leave out the habanero because I wanted it on the rocks and I asked if I could just not order a regular mango margarita on the rocks, and it seemed like it got her in a little bind with trying to answer that question. So I switched it to a frozen mango margarita with a sugar rim. Eight minutes went by and I finally got a small mango margarita with no sugar on the rim as she set it down she said "oh well, there's no sugar" so I slid it back to her and I said yes, I'd like to get what I ordered and she said "oh OK". My order was taken, which I got the chicken, fried steak and french fries (comes with mashed potatoes and veggies), but I only wanted fries. Another person brought my food out, and halfway through my meal the waitress came by and said, "oh you got your food - Let me know if you need anything else", and then disappeared. I did want extra gravy, but since my waitress never came back to see if I needed anything I decided to go ahead and just finished my meal and pay my bill. Surprisingly enough as soon as the check was presented less than 30 seconds go by and she's there waiting to get paid. My reason for the review was this. If you choose the server life, at least give good service. I feel like I was just there as a body, no interaction with the server, no, "have you ever been here before?" any small chitchat, nothing. But low and behold you can hang around enough to see what your tip is. I paid in cash, I left her $36.00 - I ALWAYS leave generous tips for good service, check backs etc. but when you feel like you're just a body taking up space, your tip will reflect that. I have to say something important! Jack Allen's I'm a teacher and I appreciate that you treat us extra special. From your teacher discount to a free meal before school starts really say how you feel about the community. This is actually why I tried this place for the 1st time, I had received a flier at school advertising the free meal and took a chance. My husband and I have gone several times and fallen in love! We've tried to pimento cheese app which I love because it's just a tiny taste when you first get there, but the flavor is huge. We've tried their burgers which are CRAZY good because of their ingredients and their bun. (The Green Chile Cheeseburger is amazing) Last night we had the shrimp tostadas. They were a great portion and had lots of flavor. For our meal I had the steak salad and my husband had the barbacoa enchiladas and ate slow to enjoy each bite. We didn't have dessert because we were stuffed, but we've also had the cobbler and you've got to find a place in your tummy to fit it in. I didn't have high hopes for this place but it was good. I had the ruby red trout salad- i know, that doesn't "sound" good. TRUST me, it is! It was a pink fish that resembled salmon but tasted more like cod or white fish. It had a goat cheese creamy sauce to die for and with a vibrant green homemade pesto. In case anyone is wondering, no gross mayo in the white sauce or dish :) The rice was so good too. They def put butter in it to make it so creamy. It's called a salad but half the plate is a huge piece of perfectly cooked fish and the rice. The other half is a simple greens salad with red wine vinaigrette. I would go back and get this a million times if i could. My husband had the fried chicken breast and the portion was massive. Usually massive portion might mean lower quality but this was amazing and he loved it. It also came with mashed potatos. The chicken is not really my thing but my MIL and he thought it was the best dish of the night. What i would not recommend (unless for kids) is the mac and cheese with chicken. We had higher hopes for this because it's at a restaurant but it was flavorless and like what you could get at home. Picky eaters or kids would like but we would pass. read more

Such a great spot for lunch! We were welcomed by the great staff and a HUGE gorgeous Christmas tree. We sat at the bar, where they had the televisions switched on to the soccer game. A huge plus for us! We decided on something like for lunch, and also ordered a couple of espresso martinis. The bartender was amazing! So sweet and very accommodating when my order ended up being a lil too spicy for me. (Salad dressing) She remade my salad, and did it with a smile! We had the buttermilk chicken salad along with the smashed guacamole. The guacamole was a total hit. So many different flavors all rolled into one dip!!! I think I've been to almost every Jack Allen's in the Austin area and they never seem to disappoint. Service was excellent here, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered my usual, the Grilled Ruby Trout and it was delicious per usual! They are always very generous with the fish portions and the rice and spinach are pretty good. I will say my dad ordered the chicken fried chicken that comes with "Chef's veggies" and my dad was complaining that they tasted like nothing. I didn't believe him at first, I thought he just didn't like zucchini, but he was right, those veggies tasted like watery vegetables. Only miss they've made so far. We had some problems with food quality in the past but decided to return after a year layoff. We always loved their guacamole. And the guacamole was fabulous again. They have outstanding chips. Their salsa is flavorful but not spicy. I prefer some heat. I ordered the special crispy Brussels sprouts. They were incredible with the Buffalo butter drizzle. My Caesar salad was good. I ordered the special Strawberry Blackened Salmon cooked medium. It was an 11 on a 10-point scale sitting on crispy potato wedges. My wife's chocked fried pork chop was mighty fine along with her veggie side. Our server, Matt, was awesome. Glad they are back! read more

Love their wine and beer selection but my ultimate favorite is their barbacoa stackers that even tough they're an appetizer are fantastic as a main course. We.made a reservation for Friday night at 6:30 pm. We arrived a little early and was told there would be a short wait but that we should be seated by our reservation time, or sooner. We went to the bar to try to get a seat and have a couple of drinks but it was full. They did have a walk up spot where you could order a drink, go to the waiting area, and enjoy the drinks. I wish all bars would do that instead of making you muscle your way through people seated at the bar to order. Anyway, while we were standing, waiting on our table, a couple of spots opened up at the bar and we were able to get seats. We decided to eat at the bar rather than wait on our table so we let the hostess know. The menu selections were great and the food was equally as great. Our bartender/server was friendly and very attentive despite how busy it was. We had a great time. I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that the bar is too small to accommodate all the people waiting, and the noise level inside was such that it was actually difficult to carry on a conversation with my wife sitting right next to me. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in Cedar Park. Their seasonal menu is always fun to peek at. Sometimes worth taking a risk (like a country fried steak with a duck egg) and sometimes not. Drinks are always good and service is always great. We avoid this place during the dinner rush because they do get backed up, but that is expected. While it sounds loud while you are in there, we have sat in booths, tables, and at the bar & have never had a problem with a carrying on a conversation with our party. I had the All JAK'd Up Shrimp & Grits last night, & they were amazing! We also ordered the fried pickle chips & they were the best I'd ever had - thin slices, lightly breaded, & just enough zing of heat in the breading to offset the Green Goddess dipping sauce. We were too full for dessert, but we've never had an item there we didn't love. Absolutely phenomenal places to eat, wonderful ambience, & friendly & competent staff. Went in this evening for a birthday dinner and immediately had a bad experience. The hostess, Bella was very rude and confrontational. We asked if we could put our own booster chair on the booth we were sat at, which we always do at every restaurant, this one included. She told us we couldn't do that. We asked if we could be seated at a table where we could use it and after several minutes of debating, we were sat at a table. I then saw the hostess, which I was told was her name Bella, rolled her eyes at my daughter and pretty much mimicked my daughter and said, "well, it's never been a problem before but it is now", because she was giving my daughter a hard time about it and my daughter said oh, it's never been a problem before. I then went up to the manager, who said her name was Cristiana, and told her how unprofessional her hostess had been and she very non chalontly said, "oh i'll talk to her". Im almost 100% sure she didnt say anything to her hostess. The Barbacoa enchiladas were plated beautifully and tasted amazing. The sauce had a unique and complimentary flavor to cut down the heaviness of the beef. The rice is light. I'm kicking my self for not remembering our server's name yesterday. She was a beautiful middle aged woman who has been there for two years. She and her partner took care of our large party of 16 around 2pm. She took time to see if we had questions and took care of our homeschool basketball group with smiles and attention to all our wants. If that wasn't enough the horseradish-Dijon crusted salmon was the MOST delicious salmon I've ever had and I want to go back before we leave town to get it again We had a wonderful experience and if you gave raises we would suggest she get one!!
