I have been going to Don's for approx 2 years and love it! It's a family owned business and the owner exhibits the best customer service ever and apparently encourages that same customer service from his employees. I have facilitated customer service classes for a major retailer so I know great service when I see it. Plus, I told the owner how happy I was that he had a brand of liquor that I can rarely find anywhere else. He was low on bottles so his employee put one on hold for me and when I came in to get it, they had ordered more! Now THAT'S how you do business. I have stopped by, after examining their selection from the online web site. I find a nice selection of whiskey, bourbon and tequila. Not necessarily the least expensive, but I love the wide selection and variety. The staff has been cheerful an helpful on my visits. I'd rather visit this shop versus the big retailers. read more

Very poor experience, unfortunately. Purchased a bottle that seemed quite overpriced, but what do I know. Later checked and found out every other place (Spec's, Twin, Total Wine) charges less than half what I was charged. I called over and said something must be amiss, and the lady said that the TABC did not allow them to take anything back, open or not (it wasn't), and that included price adjustments if they were willing to consider (which they weren't). She said I was probably charged for a larger size version of what I bought, but since they didn't notice that, they won't do anything about it. Short version: Avoid, it's a ripoff. There are better, more accountable options nearby. read more

I was in town for the holiday and stopped in just to see if they had any rare or allocated bourbons. They did. Very much appreciated the selection and consideration for future arrivals. After shopping here for about two years now, I'm continually impressed by this place. I've come to trust the recommendations of the staff many times and found several "finds" in the way of Tequila and Mescal. I'm sitting here sipping a Tres Agaves Anejo that has a slight anise flavor that I would never have tried without such a recommendation. I like finding "dive" restaurants and I enjoy finding Tequilas that are just as good as say Close Azul, for a fraction of the price. I really like their box sets (bottle of liquor and glasses). Each part of town seems to have the same stuff ; when you come to Leander you'll find different selections that you'd find in other parts of town. Stopped in to pick up some adult beverages tonight. First visit and hubby and i were greeted at the door with samples. He partook i passed as i was not a fan of the sample. We perused the shelves looking for something new. There was a tall man on his phone following us aisle by aisle. At first i thought he was a customer - nope- he was working there. We stopped down the tequila aisle and contemplated a couple of kinds and the man just kept eyeing us from the end of the aisle up by the register. Seriously???? The store is small and it was ridiculous being followed around like a criminal. We will NOT be returning. Will drive a bit further and spend our money where our business is welcomed. read more

Unfortunate experience last night. Went in to pick up libations, went to pay and there's no one at the counter.... Waiting for the employees, who are doing... something, to notice and come up. They notice there's a line growing, but not one moves toward the counter to actually check anyone out. I noticed that neither the owner or his son were anywhere in sight. I guess the employees require strict supervision in order to do their jobs. Pity, they'll be the downfall of a locally owned business. Libations ended up being purchased up the road at another locally owned business, who is always very ready to help. read more

They got one star for good service, but the Bourbon I purchased for $98.00 ( Elmer T lee) regularly sells at other stores for $38.00. The other bottle I purchased for $78.00(Blantons) costs $58.00, everywhere else. Supporting this mom and pop is too expensive! This place is looking for the unaware customer, so beware! read more

This liquor store is the best example of how not to take care of a problem they created. I decided to use Don's to buy a keg for my Super Bowl party because they were convenient and I couldn't get there before7pm. I ordered and paid for the keg, ice, tapper, and container on Monday 5 days before I was to pick up. When I arrived to pick up on Saturday, the keg was there but no tapper or container. They searched for a tapper and gave me one that when I arrived home and tried on the keg, didn't work (after I had driven home). So after talking with the owner Abraham and obviously pissed off I took back the tap that didn't work and they gave me another. That one "worked " for a short while then didn't. All I want to say is if you want to buy any libations, order a keg, or get treated with respect..don't use Don's (Abraham owns it)...Twin Liquors does it right! Worst experience ever! read more

I called the owner, Abraham, who helped me find an amazing bottle of Scotch for my brother's 40th birthday, and because I live in Indianapolis, he even put it in a gift bag and wrote out the card for me and my family. Several days later, I was able to send my brother in there, scavenger-hunt style, and told him to speak to the owner who was holding something for him. It went off without a hitch, thanks to Abraham.
