This charming distillery exudes a cozy, welcoming vibe. As soon as we stepped inside, we received a warm greeting. The customer service was excellent. Guests are invited to enjoy a drink and even bring their own food. A collection of board games lines a shelf, and there's a large screen TV for sports enthusiasts. I can already envision returning with friends for some delicious food and a few drinks!

We've been wanting to come here forever and finally found some time to drop by yesterday for a few drinks. WOW! Wish we had been here sooner. Starting off, it's tucked away (signage on the main road, though) neatly with some outdoor seating and has plenty of parking. The tasting room is nice and quiet and they had a huge selection of drinks. If it's your first time, ask the bartenders for their recommendations! They are very knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction. Prices are very reasonable! Anywhere $6-10 for a drink. We loved it so much we bought some bottles to take home and asked the bartenders for recommendations on recipes. This place lives up to the hype! We plan to be regulars going forward!

We love Leanderthal!!! Best and most reasonably priced cocktails in the Austin area. Their liquors are so good, and I'm so glad to be seeing them available in liquor stores now! The TexAgave makes the absolute best margarita hands down. The lounge is a super fun bar to hang with friends. The owner Scott is a great guy, and he hires super bartenders. There are numerous places nearby to get food to bring in. There are so many delicious cocktails to choose from, and they always have something new.

This is a review of an event that was held at the Leander location of Blue Corn Harvest Bar and Grill. It was a tasting dinner and highlighted spirits from Leanderthal Distillery. I wasn't aware we even had these kinds of events in Leander so I was super surprised and signed us up right away. I was curious about the distillery and I've been to other location of Blue Corn Harvest and enjoyed their food. This tasting menu was really special and every food item on the menu was paired with an appropriate adult beverage. Needless to say the event was for 21 and older only and actually the distillery does not host anyone under drinking age either. This review will focus on the adult beverages side of this event. I'll write a separate review for the food under the Blue Corn Harvest Bar & Grill in Leander page. We made it in the nick of time at 7 PM on the dot. A large part of the restaurant was cordoned off and actually even separated by a walkway from the entrance area to the right you would go in for regular dining to the left. they had everything all set up for the tasting menu , we were located in the last seats available which was in a booth with another couple (on the other side of us) they were awesome and we were so glad we met them so that was a big perk as well. They were well known as "Jo" had actually worked at Blue Corn Harvest in Cedar Park for years, and she and her husband were patrons of the distillery. So the ambience was really nice. I am going to talk about the service before I discuss the food. I have to say the service was absolutely impeccable. They had everything well designed- well thought out -and service was expedient as could be with the large number of people they were serving. I was truly amazed!!' The menu was created by Chef Santos Garcia for all the foods and Leanderthal Distillery for the bourbon and vodka beverages . Our First Course pairing was with a Lemon Rosemary Refresher. It was crisp and very light and was indeed refreshing. It was made from fresh rosemary, syrup, and vodka. I honestly didn't catch all the ingredients, but it was a very satisfying beverage, and since I am not a big drinker, I was really pleased that it wasn't super saturated with vodka The Second Course was paired with a Classic Martini. It was pure vodka adorned by two queen pimento stuffed green olives. Small sips were appropriate for me. It was very good. The Third Course was paired with an Old Fashion Leander. It was their delicious bourbon. There was an orange slice, and a maraschino cherry adorning it which I was encouraged by Jo (one of our table mates ) to squeeze into the beverage. It was very good and very smooth. Dessert -was served with an Apple Buttered Leander Bourbon Old Fashioned. Check out the pictures below. These beverages were stellar!! Oh, and I need to mention that they have drawings throughout the dinner for various prizes. Everything from a $25 dining gift certificate, T-Shirts, a bottle of vodka and a bottle of their whiskey!! Guess who won the bottle of whiskey? If you guessed me, you were right, ......which is very weird since I never win anything but looking forward to making some of our own adult beverages at home. This was a really great event and it was really nice to meet the owner of the distillery whom I believe is Scott. We're definitely going to go by and check it out. This was a great event with Leanderthal Distillery SO if they choose to participate in other pairing events, we will be sure to be at the table!!

NO infants! Not even the cutest baby. In all seriousness... great drinks, unbeatable prices, and wonderful service. The owner was super nice and informed us that we can ask for the recipes to any drink on the menu (nifty, right?) so that you can recreate them at home. It's also BYOF (bring your own FOOD) and happens to be adjacent to some great local restaurants. The tasting room is small and cozy with board games to borrow. For days that it's not blisteringly hot, there is an east-facing patio with a fireplace to relax in the evenings.

Had a wonderful time tonight at Leanderthal. Scott and Polly were so pleasant and helpful! I hesitate to tell y'all how inexpensive the drinks were because I don't want a price increase but I need y'all to know they were the best prices I've seen, including happy hours! We had 5 different cocktails and each was a 10/10. Highly recommend the drink they describe as better than a White Russian, with chocolate milk! Will definitely be making this a regular stop.

Everything they distill is remarkably approachable, great for fair-weather drinkers and connoisseurs alike. It certainly keeps winning awards, so you know it has to be at least halfway decent. Definitely sign up for a tour to get the full story. It's short but fun, informative, and you get samples at the end, which is perfect for the person (like me) that wants a little taste of everything. The cocktails are also solid, my favorite of which being the Cold Fashioned, a frozen old fashioned that's the perfect for a hot day, which is most around here. Chill on the patio, make a day of it. That part was completely our fault, 100"% we should have double-checked. However, we were surprised that there was no call or email when we missed the tour for the wrong date to even check why awe missed or if we were running late, (the day before) which might have helped us catch the mistake in time. When we arrived, we spoke with the bartender to see if there was any way to make up for it, especially since we had already been charged. He said he'd check, but when he came back, the response was "you can book another tour" absolutely rude and then walked off the only option l was to rebook for another day and pay full price again. It was really disappointing. There didn't seem to be any effort to help or any understanding of what was clearly an honest mistake I didn't event want a full refund but NO type of effort or talk went into the matter. Given the distance we traveled, we were hoping for at least a little flexibility or customer care. That said, we ended up going to Balcones distillery in Waco instead and it ended up to be the best part of our trip.

From the very first time I walked in and sat at the bar with my friend, every bartender has been great, friendly, engaging, very much excited to talk about the products, excellent drinks. Terrific. I liked it so much that I wanted to throw an event there and this is where my experience turns left. I emailed the events coordinator, no response. We actually went back and spoke with staff and they said they'd also try to send an e-mail. Nothing. When the events manager said it would require paying for the entire space and quoted me an astronomical number which obviously I didn't even entertain. Fast forward to that day and I brought some people there for cocktails anyway. There were like 6 people-I was quoted like 7500 to close out the room.
