When you go in, find a seat and grab a menu, then order at the register. Your food will be delivered to your table. A friend and I recently had a long weekday lunch, with both of us having sandwiches. Sandwiches came with a choice of sides. I had a chicken salad sandwich, which was served on a croissant, and a cup of broccoli cheese soup. The chicken salad was wonderful, but the croissant was dry. The soup was very good. My friend had a grilled cheese sandwich and a salad. Her sandwich was loaded with cheese. The baked goods at the counter looked scrumptious, but we did not partake. While the shop boasts other wonderful products, my focus was mainly on the BIG handmade creations. I couldn't resist buying a few treasures, including earrings ($15 each), trinket holders ($10 each), bracelets ($15 each), and a beautifully handcrafted card ($6 each). These items are not just stunning; they carry the unique stories of their creators and offer a sense of fulfillment knowing my purchases support them. After checking out, I discovered that the Sunroom features a gallery showcasing even more BIG artists' creations. I wandered over there and was blown away by the breathtaking pottery and other handmade items. If only I had a bigger budget--I wanted to take it all home! The wonderful woman who took my order was learning the POS system and is a participant in their training program. We also popped next door to Sunflower Hill and purchased the most beautiful handmade items: a wind chime, a soap dish, and a candle. What a beautiful concept. Great space, good labor, and a sweet atmosphere. I saw this place and wanted to visit months ago. Just today, I had the chance. I had breakfast, the parfait with the Big biscuit with jam and an Americano. I bought a pair of eco-friendly shades, and visited the "what looks like" a green house, but it's just the extension of the shopping area where I bought my dear friend a gift. They have opportunities to volunteer and spread the world. It's important to support local businesses but also get involved in the community and give your time for something that brings love and kindness to others. I'm glad I know about this place. I had an excellent experience at this restaurant today. I started by walking through the beautiful boutique, I can hardly wait to come back and spend some money here. They have beautiful Christmas items right now. We waited in a short line to be seated, the restaurant was busy. One of the ladies working took the time to find us a table while we were waiting in line, that was very kind because we did not ask her to do that. At this restaurant, one orders upfront and then sits down and waits for their food. They have a wonderful seasonal menu right now. I enjoyed a black bean, quinoa, sweet potato salad with a honey dressing and gluten-free bread on the side. I complemented this with some loose leaf, black tea, which was perfect. My husband had breakfast tacos, which were quite large and on flour tortillas; he enjoyed them very much. He topped them off with a Dr Pepper. I had a chef salad that was perfect! Mixed green, cucumbers, avocado, ham, cheese, yellow and dark red tiny tomatoes. With a jalapeño ranch dressing. It was huge, had enough for two meals. And for dessert, I love dessert, coconut pie, not a pudding kind of pie. The pie was stuffed full of coconut, just enough filler to hold it together, and the crust was okay. Their mission is to empower adults with special needs and build a community with a sense of belonging. This is an amazing mission as my kindergarten art teacher says, "treat others the way you want to be treated". There's a little boutique and cafe in one building. The cafe is super cute! Santa is comin early this year or somethin because they have their holiday decor out. As your server walks up and greet you, they will sing a lovely Christmas carol! Wow just wow! This place is absolutely gorgeous! Upon entering The BiG Cafe, I was so pleasantly surprised by the array of beautiful flowers, handmade jewelry , flowers, and holiday decor. The shop is so lovely from the creative lighting to so many details that you'd have to go in a few times to really soak it all in! My friend suggested we go here and lunch and I am truly thankful that she did. Such a wonderful experience! She had the Cobb salad and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with a small bowl of tomato basil soup. So yummy! We've driven by The Big Café many times and I am so sad we waited this long to visit! Everyone is so friendly and the food is DELICIOUS. I got the 3 egg omelette and my husband did their Wednesday egg salad special. Both tasted glorious and I kept trying to get more bites of my husbands sandwich. There was a citrus flavor I couldn't quite pin down, lemon thyme? I loved the shredded radish on the egg salad sandwich as well. My omelette was fluffy and stuffed with fresh veggies and bacon. When I heard about their mission to help people with different abilities it warmed my heart. Their store front is filled with so many cute items, I especially enjoyed the fragrances and the kids area. People just seem genuinely happy to be working here and even the clientele they draw in are kind. One of the patrons was telling me all about their favorite food items and how they come weekly to visit because they love The Big Cafe so much.
