I visited BiG Cafe for my first time with a friend for brunch couple weeks ago and I absolutely loved this place! Their mission is to provide employment for adults with special needs and their profits support a vocational program to empower local citizens. When you first enter the building, you see a shop with lots of beautifully crafted and interesting products. Lots to shop here, although prices are high which then again, part of the proceeds go into a good cause and the products are well made. The cafe is located at the back of the shop. We spent a little time browsing the shop before going to the cafe. The cafe itself is so welcoming and spacious! Not a great ton of seating available but there's outdoor seating area with turf, which I can see is a huge plus when cooler weather arrives. I love the signs on the wall, very motivating sayings and quotes. For food, I had the avocado toast with bacon and fried egg and an espresso. It was delicious! Price point was good and food came out hot and fresh. I noticed when we were there, the lady at the counter (presumably the manager) was addressing the patrons by name, which was such a nice touch to see. It feels like this place really cares for their customers and is an established place in the local community. Parking is free and ample spaces available when we went there on a Friday morning. I like this place so much I ended up bringing my family there the following week. Support a good cause and eat a nutritious meal at the same time. Go visit! read more

I absolutely loved having lunch at the BIG Café. The room is bright, the seating comfortable, and service great and unrushed. Everyone is super friendly. When you go in, find a seat and grab a menu, then order at the register. Your food will be delivered to your table. A friend and I recently had a long weekday lunch, with both of us having sandwiches. Sandwiches came with a choice of sides. I had a chicken salad sandwich, which was served on a croissant, and a cup of broccoli cheese soup. The chicken salad was wonderful, but the croissant was dry. The soup was very good. My friend had a grilled cheese sandwich and a salad. Her sandwich was loaded with cheese. The baked goods at the counter looked scrumptious, but we did not partake. I enjoyed a croissant sandwich filled with egg, bacon, and cheese, complemented by a cup of fresh fruit. My daughter opted for two breakfast tacos paired with a fruit cup. Their menu also features specialty coffee and drinks. The café ambiance is delightful, accompanied by great music. Outdoor seating is available on the patio for those who want to savor the weather. Alternatively, if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, you can grab your food to-go and head over to the Sunflower Room across the parking lot. This area offers additional seating both indoors and outdoors. The customer service was exceptional--friendly and welcoming. **Gift Shop:** I fell in love with it! There's a vast selection to explore, from faith-based items and gorgeous jewelry to clothing and children's goods. However, the handmade creations by the BIG citizens stole the show for me. Words can hardly do justice to how incredible these handcrafted items are. Each piece comes with a card introducing the artist behind it, making the experience even more meaningful. While the shop boasts other wonderful products, my focus was mainly on the BIG handmade creations. I couldn't resist buying a few treasures, including earrings ($15 each), trinket holders ($10 each), bracelets ($15 each), and a beautifully handcrafted card ($6 each). These items are not just stunning; they carry the unique stories of their creators and offer a sense of fulfillment knowing my purchases support them. After checking out, I discovered that the Sunroom features a gallery showcasing even more BIG artists' creations. I wandered over there and was blown away by the breathtaking pottery and other handmade items. If only I had a bigger budget--I wanted to take it all home! I literally love this place and can't believe I didn't know about it sooner. From the moment we walked in, everything felt special. Amazing food, great coffee, and such a fun little store! The honey latte was such a treat, perfectly balanced and comforting. What truly made the experience stand out was the people and the purpose. The wonderful woman who took my order was learning the POS system and is a participant in their training program. She was kind, capable, and welcoming, and it was clear she was being supported, not rushed. It felt good to be part of that moment. We also popped next door to Sunflower Hill and purchased the most beautiful handmade items: a wind chime, a soap dish, and a candle. Each piece came with the story of the person who crafted it, which made them feel like true treasures, not just purchases. I had breakfast, the parfait with the Big biscuit with jam and an Americano. I bought a pair of eco-friendly shades, and visited the "what looks like" a green house, but it's just the extension of the shopping area where I bought my dear friend a gift. They have opportunities to volunteer and spread the world. I had an excellent experience at this restaurant today. I started by walking through the beautiful boutique, I can hardly wait to come back and spend some money here. They have beautiful Christmas items right now. We waited in a short line to be seated, the restaurant was busy. One of the ladies working took the time to find us a table while we were waiting in line, that was very kind because we did not ask her to do that. At this restaurant, one orders upfront and then sits down and waits for their food. They have a wonderful seasonal menu right now. I enjoyed a black bean, quinoa, sweet potato salad with a honey dressing and gluten-free bread on the side. I complemented this with some loose leaf, black tea, which was perfect. My husband had breakfast tacos, which were quite large and on flour tortillas; he enjoyed them very much. He topped them off with a Dr Pepper. I had a chef salad that was perfect! Mixed green, cucumbers, avocado, ham, cheese, yellow and dark red tiny tomatoes. With a jalapeño ranch dressing. It was huge, had enough for two meals. And for dessert, I love dessert, coconut pie, not a pudding kind of pie. The pie was stuffed full of coconut, just enough filler to hold it together, and the crust was okay. Big Cafe This tiny but clean place is unique in terms that its an NGO kind cafe which is run by volunteering retired or special needs people , and all the proceeds also go to them. Very very impressed with this self sustaining concept One can understand that the menu options are not that many, but the food is simple but really fresh. Wow just wow! This place is absolutely gorgeous! Upon entering The BiG Cafe, I was so pleasantly surprised by the array of beautiful flowers, handmade jewelry , flowers, and holiday decor. The shop is so lovely from the creative lighting to so many details that you'd have to go in a few times to really soak it all in! My friend suggested we go here and lunch and I am truly thankful that she did. Such a wonderful experience! She had the Cobb salad and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with a small bowl of tomato basil soup. So yummy! My friend is gluten intolerant and she had a slice of their chocolate cake which was so moist and delicious! Very clean, lots of fun listening to the volunteers sing as they work and the food is excellent. Not gonna try to twist your arm with a wordy review, I liked having only a small wait to get a table.
