Tried Lamppost in Georgetown again today (because I really want to support local businesses). Once more, very slow service and they got the order wrong and so had to remake. $25.04 for two 16oz beverages, a muffin and a cookie + 20% tip. Later, when I checked my email and saw the receipt, I noticed they charged me $7.42 for something called a "Lamba Latte" (when what I ordered was just a plain old latte). Whatever the latte was that I did get, it was not good--tasted like burnt truckstop coffee. I don't think I'll go back to Lamppost again, which is a bummer because I really wanted to like and support them (if they could just handle the basics). read more

Service: The cashier was borderline not friendly, and she didn't ask if were dining in or not, so everything was packed in a to go. So environmentally unfriendly. Hence, the 1 star less. Ambiance: Love the layout and feels warm and inviting. Good place to chill or do some work. Parking: Lots of street parking. read more

This place is very local to me and is located in downtown Georgetown. It is a nice place to stop by and get some coffee and the location is great. However, I would not say that this is the best coffee place I have been to. Their coffee is OK and their poor overs are just OK. I wish their beans were fresher because they usually have a lot of beans that are old and don't provide much flavor or complexity. If you do want some coffee that is not bad or you need some beans, this is not a bad place in terms of convenience, especially if you live in Georgetown,. The service is friendly and this is a good place to get work done. However, on the weekends, especially on Sunday, this place can get pretty busy close to lunch.. read more

Right by the square this is my go-to spot for coffee. Plenty of seating inside and service is great! You can bring your own reusable cup and they're nice enough to rinse it out for you if you ask. I'm usually there early so parking is easy and there are plenty of tables to sit at. Overall good coffee and friendly faces. Check them out if you're in the area. read more

I love this coffee shop so much! It has the small town feeling located in the heart of Georgetown. But it's more than that. It's the historic building, the noise of the door when you open it, the warm feeling inside, the great service, the couch with board games, the art in the walls, and so much more. And the best part for me is to be able to drink art. When I ask for my latte and the guys do it with great attitude. Super cute coffee spot right off of Main street with lots of inside seating, perfect for studying or hanging out! Parking - was able to park down the street in the public lot no problem. Menu - I do not drink coffee, so as a tea drinker I'm always pleased to go to coffee shops that offer an extensive tea menu as well! They had a variety of both iced and hot teas, I went with a mint tea. Service - Despite being busy and only have 2 people behind the counter, the wait for drinks did not seem long at all. Seating - the interior is HUGE with 2 rooms, with plentiful seating/big tables. They of course have free wifi, password is out by the counter. read more

I thought that shop was laid out in a very inviting way and I really appreciated that! I got an iced latte with no ice and a cookie, and I thought they were both very good! The order was ready in a very timely manner, and the cookie was great with no complaints! I think the only thing I had any issue with was that my coffee was way sweeter than I thought it would be, since I hadnt asked for any syrups, and the top had some difficulty closing properly. I walked in with my family to grab a coffee for the first time & loved the ambiance. The employees were very friendly as well. My hubby is never impressed but he actually liked their coffee. My nephew was very picky about how he wanted his decaf to taste and they were cool with adding flavors and tried their best to make him happy. Wonderful coffee, hands down one of the best lattes in town. The Lamba is the best. They are always kind. There was an employee or two we weren't too fond of in terms of service or welcoming attitude. However we haven't been able to go (being in and out of town) for a while now. So they may no longer be there. Either way there are the other employees who are very welcoming and helpful. Especially since I drink decaf which isn't too common in a coffee shop lol. Either way highly recommend. *personal opinion* I don't love the decor or ambience per se. I love that they show different artists and it's always very clean. But I love more cozy and darker vibe coffee shops myself. It's very modern and grey in tone. So it's not somewhere I would sit and work myself. However many may like that ambience. So totally up to each person. I am an artist and designer so forgive me for nitpicking lol. I do love there larger tables in parts of the cafe for gathering in groups if you're studying for school or meeting friends in town with kids. Easy to get in and out with a stroller. All in all will always return for coffee. I mean that's the main reason we go right!? They have a nice set up of two or three small bistro tables outside to enjoy on the sidewalk. So that's typically where I go. They also have a comfy sofa right inside the door if you get there at the right moment. This is a beautiful, spacious cafe with TONS of seating!! Though it can be busy at certain times of the day, the neutral grays with pops of green color here and there provide a very relaxing atmosphere. Their lattes are balanced and delicious. I've been loving the coffee and have ordered a few times since I've been in the area. The vibe was great as well. The only issue is with my pick-up orders. I usually order about 5 minutes ahead and when I arrive, I sit near the pickup counter and wait for my order to be called. No one asked me if I was waiting for an order, or if I could be helped, so I waited patiently to be called. About 30 minutes passed when I finally asked if my order was coming up, and they pulled my coffee up from behind a counter and gave it to me And apologized. It was ready the whole time I was there, but no one had asked if I was there to pick-up or spoke to me. They need a pick-up counter, or at least leave it on the pick-up table for people to see. In their defense, it was a busy day, but it would go a long way to ask anyone standing by the pick-up counter if they're waiting for an order so they can hand it to them if it's hiding behind their counter. From the outside, it looks like a cute little place,but once you enter it is a cute big place. There are 3 big rooms in total and plenty of boutique style seating. The interior is just enough decorated. They also have some board games. The location is unbeatable. The staff is friendly too. The only downside is their coffee. I ordered a mocha on a Saturday evening and they were already out of chocolate syrup. So I had to get a latte. The latte was very creamy and there was very little taste of coffee. Their blueberry muffins are filled with beautiful blueberries and warmed to perfection. Their signature Lamba Latte is great at 1/2 sweet level. A bit too sweet for me otherwise. Their bottled juices are good but a but pricey. Still good though They are working on the place and the improvements since I started are very well done. Customer service was good. The person taking my order was patient as I tried to figure out what I wanted. Space is large and airy, I really liked the vibe of it. Coffee prices were pretty standard to other coffee shops. I didn't think they had a lot of options and I got a cold brew with vanilla and thought it was decent. Not the best ever but not the worst.
