It was such a fun and cool place! It's like somewhere you would tell your best friend to come and also bring your out of town relatives to experience it. The decor was super cool with the giant Kiki octopus. I love the presentation of each specialty drink. They are so cool you wanna try them all! I love the inside passage drink -slightly but not too sweet. We had a great time! Just remember the key is the drinks, the food were underwhelming except the yucca fries. The drinks were fun enough to make up for anything else.
A fun, gimmicky bar where drinks are expensive but eye catching, and fairly well crafted although on the sweeter side which is to be expected at a tiki bar. We sat at the bar and service was attentive. Cajun fries were also very yummy. For a Tuesday evening, it was very crowded, although rumba (the parent restaurant) was not at all.
What a fun bar! A friend brought me here and I'm glad he did because I'm a fan of tiki drinks. We stopped by during the week so it was slower than usual. The menu had so many great options and even had the usual tiki drinks. I decided to get the four boys and it came out in a rice cooker! So cool! Definitely need to come back and try other items on the menu. Seems like they sell some of the glassware as well if you wanna stock up on cool cups.
I've had Inside Passage bookmarked for the longest time and was waiting for the opportunity to get our butts to Seattle! June is our birthday month and to celebrate- along with booking our Alaska cruise- we celebrated all week long during our Seattle visit. We made our reservations in advance. Although I knew of selected food options for Inside Passage - I asked on their Yelp page if food could be ordered from the Rumba menu. We received our answer in ample time, and thank goodness, YES! I knew there was more of a selection for hubby to choose from the Rumba menu. You can never go wrong with having both food menus readily available! LOL From the Rumba menu- I think we ordered way too much and their portions were generous and food from both menus were delicious! Elevated in flavors and not the typical pub/ bar foods of boring hot dogs and fries. Rumba menu: Chicharonnes $8. Light crispy fare to nibble on with stiff drinks. Jamaican Beef Patty $6.50/ ea One is a good sized- to give you more space in your belly for other tasty fare. Flaky turmeric pastry filled with/ curry spiced ground beef, grilled poblano peppers, cheddar, corn & onion. Very savory! I was eyeballing the Jerk Deviled Eggs- but, picked Caribbean Spicy Shrimp (recommended by our server) $16. The recommendation did NOT disappoint! Lightly fried tail on shrimp topped w/ cotija cheese & served w/ tomatillo avocado dip! And that dip is where it's at!! Jerk Wings $15/ 6pcs. Jamaican jerk spice marinade, served w/ house made ranch. These are some meaty wings! Carne asada plate for hubby. Marinated flank steak in mojo verde w/ chimichurri, Cuban black beans, corn salsa, cotija cheese, & tostones. $21 The vibe is electic. These cocktails are executed with precision. I haven't enjoyed rum in so long. And the rum selection here is perfection. These aren't just served in the run of the mill tiki glasses. You are paying the pretty penny for top shelf rums and the presentation! My first cocktail, of course, the famous Four Boys! Being Mestiza myself and having our rice cooker- our beloved appliance sitting on our kitchen counter- a daily staple in many homes... was the main attraction! Who can honestly say when they go to a tiki bar- my drink was served in a RICE COOKER?!! Jamaican & Bajan rums, mango, rice milk, ube, lime & ginger. The dry ice "steaming" from the side and steam hole from the rice cooker lid- is hilarious! IYKYK Hubby got a few Dinglehoppers. And I grabbed a few Camera Shy's! $23 Charando Blanco rum, Forest Gin, Fuji apple, mushroom, lemon & pine. I inquired about the mushroom- and if memory serves me correctly- it's a mushroom tea? This ingredients in this cocktail seemed like an odd blend. But, I felt the need to try at least ONE! Especially with Fuji Apple! It was so delicious- I grabbed another! As we kept enjoying more- rounds of drinks- we bushed on Yucca fries as well. We felt we needed to take sips of water in between our craft cocktails and nibble on something.
Stopped by earlier this week to have an early evening drink and definitely was happy we chose this spot! We didn't have a reservation, but the hostess was very helpful and had us seated immediately. There were booths and other seats available. The decor was also very cute and themed perfectly for a tiki bar! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful when we were deciding on drinks. We were here for about an hour and a half and tried four drinks: I See a Light, The Inside Passage, The Four Boys, and One-Eyed Willy. Each were wonderfully balanced but my favorite was I See a Light! Cant wait to come back here to try more drinks when I'm in Seattle!
I'm a sucker for tiki bars and hidden bars, and Inside Passage is both. It is my favorite bar in WA. There is no exterior signage for Inside Passage except for a small neon palm tree. You have to step into Rumba bar and have a host bring you back into the side room, where the atmosphere completely changes. Inside Passage is a small but lavishly themed tiki bar that puts even the likes of Disney's Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar to shame. It's truly remarkable - from the massive tentacles reaching over the bar, to the custom themed mugs served with each drink, this place is an experience. The price reflects that. These are pricey drinks, but they're pretty unique. From an earthy mushroom-tinged drink served in a sasquatch mug, to a crockpot and even an Amazon shipping package, the presentation here is unmatched. My default is the One-Eyed Willy, which comes in a metal skull served in a treasure chest full of glowing dry ice. The drinks are all delectable too - it doesn't seem like there's a bad choice. Unfortunately, it's also very small, which makes it hard to plan around. While I've always had good luck with walk-in availability, it's a gamble. Reservations get snatched up quickly, so if you have a group of more than 2 people, be sure to book in advance!
This place is beautiful! Perfect date night or place to hang with friends. Vibes and atmosphere was on point! The bartenders and server were all so friendly and nice. Server was super chill and answered any questions we had and made nice small talk. Bartenders even wished us a great night and said bye to us as we left. Only con of the night was our server disappeared and went over to sit down at Rumba so we payed with the bartenders. All the decor is so well thought out and intriguing. My favorite decor was the puffer fish lights. Lighting is moody and dim which was romantic and fun. We felt comfortable to take photos in the booths near some cute decor before we left. All customers were minding their business and enjoying chatting over cool drinks. We ordered 3 drinks in total. The oyster shooters is the reason I put Inside Passage on my want to go/bookmarks. Oyster shooters is definitely cute and tasty but for me personally as a seafood lover (love squid, clams, oysters, mussels, crab) it was only giving salty. Still good. I also ordered the only mocktail they had called Unleaded which was fun and yummy. My boyfriend chose the Jet Pilot which we both enjoyed sipping on and was on the stronger side :) Overall the drinks look and taste great and we were pleased. Reservations are recommended however we got lucky on a slower night and were walk ins at 9:20pm with no wait. I would definitely recommend Inside Passage for a relaxing and romantic date night! We had a wonderful night!
We were so excited after seeing the videos and reviews to check out Inside Passage. The fact that it's called a speakeasy, has amazing-looking drinks, and such unique décor had us really looking forward to it. No issues with the reservation process -- they do require a $20 per person deposit for no-shows. Our reservation was at 10pm since we were coming from the Mariners game, but we arrived early and they were able to seat us ahead of schedule, which was great! Once seated, we were given menus, but it took about five minutes before the server came by with water and to start service. She wasn't very welcoming and didn't seem helpful when I asked questions about the menu. We ordered drinks, which came out fairly quickly with a nice presentation -- the dry ice smoke effect was fun. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves were disappointing. Mine tasted like pure rum/alcohol. I tried stirring it, which helped slightly, but it was still mostly alcohol forward. My partner's drink had the same issue. Honestly, the flavors reminded me of what I'd expect from a dive bar, not from a speakeasy with such creative-sounding descriptions. On top of that, I didn't feel the "speakeasy vibe" was really there. Overall, I won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to others. I had much higher expectations for this spot, and it just didn't deliver. And the service fee of 20% was very annoying as I like to tip based on my servers performance and her performance was poor. For reference 2 drinks with tax and the fees was $60.
This bar is a very hidden gem. It is a speakeasy inside of Rumba. I got there on Saturday and we just walked in and put ourselves on the waitlist. We only had to wait around 5-10 minutes at 10pm to get inside. The staff was really nice and attentive and it had a nice tropical tiki bar vibe. I would definitely come here if you're looking for a cool night out. Staff: Really Nice Sanitation status: Clean I see a Light This cocktail was really good. My favorite out of the drinks we got. It was sweet but you could still taste the liquor in it. The cup only added a unique twist Blue Hawaii This was your typical Blue Hawaiii, tasted pretty good but not too much to write about The Dinglehopper This was definitely a showstopper drink. Very picturesque. It was good, had a lot of flavors going on if you don't like the taste of pure liquor Large Fries (not pictured) The fries here are amazing. It was really crispy but still had a lot of potatoness on the inside. There was some kind of green aoili dipping sauce that was amazing with the fries. My family and I agreed that the sauce made it so much better.
Cool Tiki Bar inside another bar (Rumba) We made reservations 3 weeks in advance. The decor is awesome, very well done in keeping with the theme. We tried the Inside Passage - very good and not too sweet. Mai Tai was very good too, just very pricey at $26. Surprise of the night was the Spam Sliders - delicious!
I'm going to admit to you all right now, I'm not a big cocktail girl. I love myself a glass of white wine and it's normally what I'm going to go with, but why would you do that somewhere as iconic as Inside Passage? We happened to snag reservations here so that we could take a coworker who was visiting in town. While they've been open awhile, it was my first time stopping in too and I was so excited to finally see it in person after seeing it on social media eleventeen million times. It was definitely smaller than I expected and I can see why reservations are highly recommended (required?) It's dimly lit and the tiki bar theme is hard to miss, 100% on point. Love the giant tentacles on the ceiling above the bar, really ties it all together. The menu is impressive and it's so hard to choose. Everything sounded delicious! I ended up going with the Mohai-Tai because I love myself a Mai Tai and it's IN A RAINIER CAN. How much more PNW can you get?! The presentation was obviously impressive and it was the right choice for sure. We also decided to get the Oyster Shooters because they looked fun, but... I was noooot a fan. It's made with some sort of salty ocean vodka and is definitely reminiscent of seafood. But what was I expecting, right? When the bartender asked how everything was, we admitted to him that it wasn't our jam (very nicely!!!) and he was an absolute angel and concocted some sort of fruity pineapple shots for us on the house as a surprise, so a million stars for him!! I can see why this place is so popular now. Inside Passage will definitely be at the top of the list for bar recommendations when out of towners ask me where is a must stop.
This is what tiki bar dreams are made of! Tucked away in another restaurant, inside passage was a total vibe! My friends told me it's pretty hard to get a reservation for it, so I was glad we were able to. It didn't seem super busy to me, but it's also a smaller bar with just seating at the bar and then a few booths. We were seated and walked back as soon as we arrived and the vibe in here is incredible. I really thought I was in a tropical place! We ordered our beverages and everyone got something different. All the drinks were sooo good! I loved mine though I don't recall the name. We also ordered these clam shots and they were pretty interesting. To me it tasted just like a clam with the salty taste. We also chatted with one of the bartenders and he brought us a complimentary shot too, which was sooo good. I wish I remembered what it was! So kind of him Definitely would come back here! It was so fun!

Highly recommend making a reservation! I had a friend visiting from out of town who is obsessed with tiki themed bars so I made a reservation 3 weeks before her arrival and the only time available was Sunday night. When we arrived for our reservation, the host was very friendly and took us to our table right away. As soon as we walked into inside passage, we were blown away by the decor and theme. We ordered three drinks and the presentation was incredible. However, they were very mediocre and you're definitely paying for the experience here. Considering the drinks are $20+ each, it was mostly ice and one of the cocktails tasted like watered down tequila with syrup. read more
Loved this fun, unique speakeasy inside of Rumba. It's underwater themed. Loved this giant octopus right above the bar. The drinks are exotic and come in a very preventive ways. The servers have a heavy hand but doesn't take away from the other flavors in the drink. While the drinks are good, they're very pricey ($22-26 per drink). It's a place to try at least once in CapHill! read more
Inside Passage is a speakeasy tiki bar with creative, expensive cocktails. Enter through neighboring Rumba and let them know you'd like to visit Inside Passage. You may be put on a waiting list. (I was able to get in with a party of 2 right away visiting somewhat late on a weekday.) They'll show you through to the small, elaborately decorated bar next door. They do ask that each table limits their time so that others can enjoy - no problem for us, we're quick, but heads up for those who like to linger. It's a small space and every inch is decorated to theme. The giant overhead octopus obviously stands out, as do the oceanic colors and lighting. They've got shells, buoys, pineapples, driftwood, bamboo, and more. While they offer traditional cocktails here, their menu of creative cocktails is pretty amazing - from the Amazombie served in a package, to I See A Light anglerfish themed drink, to The Four Boys in a mini pressure cooker with a side of lumpia. I ordered the One-Eyed Willy, a rum drink served in a skull, which is itself inside a treasure chest with dry ice. It cost $22. The presentation of this drink is so much fun! But the reality, maybe not so much. It tasted okay, and had a lot of ice. The treasure chest leaked water onto the table. And I was left wondering how a serving vessel like this is properly sanitized. My partner got the Last Rites, also a rum drink for a more reasonable $16. It tasted okay also and came with a coin in a treasure chest on top again bringing to mind the sanitation factor. I also got the smoked mushroom bao. I had already eaten a full dinner so I wasn't very hungry, but I love bao so I was excited to see a vegan option for them on the menu. It was good but major emphasis on the 'smoked' in the name of the dish. Overall, a really fun place to visit and get into the over-the-top theme! Due to cost likely not a place I'd visit again, but a great attractions for tourists or anyone new to town. read more
Such a cute/cool bar inside of a bar. Does that make this a speakeasy? Simple enough to make an reservation online and they're on top of it for reminding you. Their special cocktails come in such cute containers. Highly recommend for the fun factor. The decor and music is perfect too. Not a tiki bar, but a very tasteful tropical bar as if it was made by Disney. We had the Inside Passage, I See The Light, One Eyed Willy, and the El Dorado (forgot to take picture of that one). read more
It's a fun speakeasy bar inside a bar called Rumba. It is recommended you make a reservation but my friend and I showed up on a Sunday evening to Rumba without a reservation for Inside Passage. Initially we were told 45 minutes wait time so we did not put our names but as soon as we got seated at Rumba we were allowed into the Inside Passage within a min, we just got too lucky. Inside Passage gives tiki vibes that has very unique octopus tentacles decor on the ceiling. It gives quite pirate movie vibes. Their drinks are also presented with well thought out presentation. Everything is quite extra. I ordered Ballard Fog Cutter($22) It was served in Vikings Horn. It was a gin, absinthe based cocktail. The drink had mostly ice which was slightly disappointing. My friend ordered I See Light ($20) I liked her drink more. Overall I had a great evening! But the drinks are way more on the pricier side and for the overall experience. Inside Passage - if you know, you know. Having cruised to Alaska from Seattle, I have sailed the actual Inside Passage, but this "speak easy" tiki establishment is better! From the craft-themed cocktails, to the wicked friendly staff, to the kitschy-epic decor, there is no place like Inside Passage. As everyone recommends - make a reservation in advance of your arrival (and better yet, go to Seattle during a shoulder season like winter so that you don't need to elbow-bump crowds). I tried the Amazombie and Saturn cocktails - first was just visually ironic-fun, second was just TASTY yet sneaky (don't order more than 1 bc it will "hit" you hard), and I tried the Spam Rice as recommended - UM DELICIOUS. This location was hyped up on social media, so I decided to check it out with my fiancé and his friend visiting from Canada. Definitely try to make reservations! If not, the wait is typically 90 minutes during the weekend nights. Reservations can be made 3 weeks out. They only allow parties less than 3 to stay for 90 minutes, and 4 or more for 2 hours. We grabbed a drink at the bar in Rumba. I'd start by saying the drinks are better in the restaurant. Inside Passage is a cool concept though, so if you like the pictures and videos you've seen, just go once for the experience. Definitely not a place I would go back to, unless bringing an out-of-town visitor. The entrance is neat because it's dark and hidden, then you turn a corner and are met with their beautiful art. The octopus is amazing to see in person. We only ordered drinks, no food. The drinks were very strong and expensive. I understand the pricing though, because you are paying for the experience and because they're speciality drinks come with a really awesome presentation. We didn't try any of the food, so I can't review any of that. I'd give this place 3 stars for drinks, but giving it 4 due to the overall experience. read more
If you can get a reservation in the lounge - run, don't walk. This is soooooo cool! We tried so hard to get a reservation last time I was in town and it didn't shake out, so I was thrilled we finally made it. I wanted to try every cocktail on the menu but ended up settling for two: the inside passage and the I see a light. The inside passage was my favorite to drink, but the fish cup on the latter was my favorite design. We also had the spam sliders and Brie wontons. The food was as heavenly as the drinks and the atmosphere. You can't go wrong here, so just go! read more
As a tiki lover, Inside Passage is an excellent little spot with a speakeasy vibe! You have to go through a different restaurant (Rumba) in order to get to Inside Passage and it's a tight spot so beware of busy times and availability. Ambiance (10/10) - Such a fun spot! We sat at the bar corner which made it easy to identify all the tiny details! Staff (10/10) - So fun, so nice, and helpful in recommending drinks to fit your taste. Our order: - The Four Boys - Creamy, dreamy, not too sweet, and boozy. The perfect drink for me! - The Inside Passage - A creative glass for a creative drink! Sweet, sour, boozy and everything in-between. - Bali Hai - Quite the twist on a tiki drink with an after taste of coffee! - Chi Chi - Another creamy dream in a gold pineapple, you cannot go wrong! - Chopped Salad - Okay, y'all... This is like a speakeasy tiki room. Such a great little place with awesome people working behind the counter. We were seated at the counter and ordered almost every drink in the menu. Then we had cravings and got the spam sliders, delicious taro chips, Brie fried wontons, and plantain chips. All were yummy and hit the spot. Only downfall was that I wish they had their signature swizzle stick...since I'm a collector. But over all I totally enjoyed every bit of this place. read more

This was a pretty good tiki bar. The decor and theme are on point! We didn't try any food here, only drinks. The drink were definitely pricey although they did have a back page with less expensive/themed drinks. My drink was good, the dry ice was pretty fun. It had a good flavor and was $23. read more
When it comes to bars I am all in for a great cocktail presentation and Inside Passage did not disappoint. The bar theme, drinks, and bartender attire just all goes so well with the theme! The bartenders are super nice and welcoming, and had the pleasure to talk to them while I sat at the bar. I would lean more towards vodka and tequila but this go around I ventured out of my comfort zone and ordered the "I See A Light". Made with a nice smooth Japanese Rum, absinthe, kelp,lime leaf and mango. All great ingredients for an enjoyable smooth drink. A must visit when in Seattle! read more
An amazing cocktail place inside Rumba which has amazing ambience and great drinks. Stopped by on a weekday night around 9 PM (we had prior reservations) and were promptly seated. This place was surprisingly packed for a weekday night. We ordered the I Believe, I see a light, One eyed willy and The 4 boys. Each of these drinks not only looked amazing but they tasted great as well. I honestly thought this place was more about insta friendly drinks but I was wrong their drinks did taste great. I saw a lot of ice on each of our cocktails but trust me the drinks were not watered down at all. Amazing flavors very refreshing cocktails. The drinks are priced on the higher side but well I dont mind splurging once in a while when they serve good drinks and have a cool ambience. Highly recommend reserving a spot to avoid the hour long plus wait time otherwise. Parking can be tricky since it is Cap Hill but thats why i prefer going on weekdays - win win for me. Absolutely great experience. I was able to walk in easily granted keep in mind that this was in late Jan but was a Friday evening. I ended up going here to cap off my trip to Seattle and am so glad I did. I sat right at the bar inside and the bartenders Preston and Alex were very welcoming and friendly which was refreshing compared to some of the other craft cocktails places I went to in Seattle. They were happy to answer any questions and created a very comfortable environment that made it feel like a local spot. It is a very intimate small space which is nice and all of the cocktails are well thought out with cool aspects to all of them at a very fair price point $20-23 per their signature main menu drinks. They nailed the tiki experience while being unique and offering incredible service without pretentiousness. I definitely will be back here as there are so many great cocktails to try and the hospitality exceeded expectations. Would highly recommend at least for drinks, I didn't get any food other than fries. A super cool spot in Seattle. read more
Originally was going to give this bar 4 stars, but bumping up to 5 because of the effort they put in. Really well done bar -- they leaned in a lot to the nautical theme. The ceiling is filled with underwater / sea life details. It has a cute menu and the drink presentation is immaculate. I don't think I've been to another bar that has more fun cup scenery. FOOD -- They definitely have enough food for a full dinner, but you can't order too much since the tables are pretty small. The spam sliders are solid. The hawaiian burger was a little too much towards the end though. DRINKS -- so fun! They went all out with the tiki bar cups. Each drink is uniquely presented, and for the most part well balanced. My only quip is that the rice cooker drink barely had any "drink".. definitely overpriced. read more
We got reservations to come to this tiki bar, and I recommend you do the same. It's a smallish bar, and gets packed fast. Patrons are allowed a certain amount of time to hang out. Our party of 3 got 90 minutes, and I saw a party of 6 get 2 hours. The cocktails were so delicious, and served in the most unique tiki mugs, or with cool presentations. We got the drink in the rice cooker, which was so cute. Loved the skull drink in a treasure chest! Drinks are pricy at $18-25. You're paying for an experience! Ambiance and theming are above and beyond. They did such a nice job with decor. We felt taken away, and will be back to be taken away again! read more
Such a fun themed bar! The decor is top notch and I love how it transpires everything in this place. The drinks might be a bit overpriced but I think it's definitely more of paying for the photo op with the dry ice and fun containers than anything else. Though it is worth noting the drinks themselves are great too (if you're more into cocktails like me)! The staff is super nice and even though you do have a time limit on your reservation, they won't be pushing you out the door/rushing you by any means. The food is also surprisingly amazing, if you only get one app for your group, go with the beef sliders and add an extra one if there's four of you, they're so delicious! Fantastic little bar (inside a bar). Great menu & theming. Everyone was super nice. The drink I had (Inside Passage) was a great choice for me. Fruity and not too strong tasting. I love all the fun drink containers! Sadly, I didn't get a chance to taste any food but some of the options looked intriguing! Great ambiance with well designed bar area. unique Rum flavored cocktails with exceptional presentation. I typically favor bourbon & rye drinks, but the bartenders are pretty well versed in mimicking bourbon drinks but with Rum which I enjoyed expanding my pallet. Great service (service charge is included) so tipping is extra. Seating is limited and very intimate so def make a reservation. read more
If you're looking for a fun and unique cocktail bar, then you need to go to Inside Passage! It's located inside Rumba and is a small, intimate space that is decorated floor to ceiling with fun Tiki and ocean decor. Their specialty cocktails come with flames, dry ice, and over the top glasses. I ordered the Dinglehopper and it was refreshing and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Would recommend! With the cool drinks come higher prices though, so be prepared to spend ~$25 per drink after tax and tip. There will likely be a wait, so I would suggest coming to Rumba early and putting your name on the waitlist. I will definitely be coming back! read more
I was excited to try this place because everyone I know on instagram has been raving about it and it looked pretty cool from the videos and reals I have seen. However, i was not super impressed or in awe of this place. It looks fun but the drinks are expensive (you're getting a show kinda when you order an elaborate drink) but they did not taste super yummy to me. It just tasted like strong mix of alcohol. The inside of the inside passage bar is small and feels crowded. I didn't like how squished it felt and it was really loud and dark. The food was not bad though! I actually loved the shrimp corn dogs, the coconut shrimp, and the spam sliders. All really expensive food but it was yummy. Note to self for the french fries... the ketchup they give you tastes very sweet and not like reg ketchup. Walk in and you'll feel transported out of Rumba and Capitol Hill, straight into a scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean. Psst, look above you for the giant octopus. This tiki bar is very on theme, from the decor to the menus to the music and the filipino-inspired eats and drink. Each drink is decadent in their presentations and combination: rice milk, ube, acai served out of an pseudo Amazon shipping box, rice cooker, etc. If you're not into rum, this place may not be the destination for you since most of the drinks combine a variety together. While the drinks tasted good (dinglehopper and the inside passage) and were surely instagrammable, I wouldn't say they surprised or impressed me. It tasted like what I expected it to taste like, which I find true of most tiki bars I patron. That said, visiting Inside Passage is more so for the holistic experience of it all. Be forewarned: reservations are required and they do strictly enforce the 90-minute time limit. read more

What a fun tiki bar! First of all the concept and design of this bar is truly fabulous. As you walk inside you feel like you are being transported. The menu is truly a whirlwind of colors, funny names, and cute drink ware. Our group ordered the Dinglehopper, Inside Passage, and Mohai-Tai. Out favorite was the Mohai-Tai. I loved the drinks and the whole experience of the bar. The only downfall is the wait times since the bar is so small. For a group of 4 we waited over an hour and a half. This bar is fabulous and I highly recommend to go if you haven't but it isn't a bar I would frequent a lot because it's more of an experience than regular bar. Not to mention that the drinks are pricey. P.S. The bartenders are hilarious! read more
Nice cozy tiki bar with speakeasy vibes. I was there on a Friday without a reservation and was seated in around 20 mins (till then I hung out at Rumba). Once seated I was allowed to bring my drinks and food to inside passage. The place had nice cabanas and some additional tables. It is quite small and cozy. The ceiling had a giant octopus. Once seated we were told this was a timed experience of 1.5 hours. There were sprinkles of water every now and then which was a nice touch. We kept looking at other people's drinks and they all looked very fancy. We ordered the dinglehopper (presentation: 4/5, drink: 3/5) and one eyed Willy ( presentation : 5/5, drink:5/5). For food we got the Brie wontons (3/5), papaya salad(3/5) and banana foster (3/5) The place is a bit pricey and imo the drinks were not that great. For the price I expected atleast above average food and great drinks. Honestly rumba has better drinks. Overall, it was nice experience for once as the vibes and ambience was great but I won't be coming back. read more

A month or so back, the aesthetics of the drinks caught my eye and so I wanted to bring some friends here, unsuccessfully as they're booked for the night as of 6pm as they're waitlist only. So this time, I knew better and enter our names on the waitlist at 4pm and come back for 5pm opening for guaranteed seating. Even at 4pm, there were still at least 10 people wanting to put themselves on the waitlist, so just go early and come back for the best chance of getting seated. If you do end up needing to wait, their policy is a bit ruthless as you have to respond within 5 min of the text and show up within 10 min or else you get completely removed from the waitlist (hence, the 4pm waitlist + 5pm seating is the way to go). This place is inside Rumba. My friend and I tried the I See A Light and the Mohai-Tai. Both drinks are so pretty and somewhat strong even though they shove in a ton of ice to add water and increase the volume of the drink. And these drinks are $18-22 each which is a bit on the higher price, though the aesthetics somewhat make up for it even though it's expected to look pretty for a tiki bar. While I See A Light looks better, I liked the Mohai-Tai a bit more as there's a nice tropical fruity flavor that somehow pairs super well with the drink. The I See A Light tasted a bit bitter and had some aftertaste to it, so it's honestly more for the gram. Given the insane hype, this place is only worth trying for the clout that you tried it, but it's a bit overhyped as drinks are way pricey and they set the suggested tip amounts to be crazy high, with options to choose from 22-30%. Just be careful of not overpaying and select a custom amount where you can freely tip a more reasonable 15-20%! I may or may not revisit this place for the other drinks cause they look pretty, but I've already mentally prepared that it'll be another pricey experience, and that it'll be a challenge to get seated due to their waitlist model. read more
Such a unique place with an amazing atmosphere & service!! Would not have found this place if not for Yelp and was initially questioning why this place didn't have that many reviews, but I realized it was because not many people know of this place. It is quite literally a hidden gem, an intimate bar within a larger bar (Rumba). My group of 3 went inside Rumba around 7:00 PM on a Friday night and had to wait 2 hours and 15 minutes to get into Inside Passage, but the wait wasn't an issue for me as I live nearby and just went back to my place as I waited. But if you don't live nearby and don't want to wait 2 hours, I highly recommend getting to Rumba at 4:00 PM to get in line for Inside Passage when it opens at 5:00 PM. Personally, I didn't think the drinks tasted like anything extraordinary, but the atmosphere of the place was definitely worth the visit and the price. I felt like I had submerged into an underwater escapade for the time I was there and everything from the service to the decor to the aesthetic of the drinks were fantastic. This bar definitely stands out to me compared to other bars I've been to, and I'd 100% recommend visiting for the experience. Note: they do have a 90-minute limit so take that into consideration when visiting! read more
Super fun tiki bar tucked inside of Rumba! It is a very small space, so based on the Instagram worthy drinks, I am sure you can expect a long wait time. However, you can make a reservation ahead of time on Tock. If that runs out, you can put your name down at Rumba an hour before they open. The interior of this place was just incredible! Very fun and nautical themed bar with this beautiful giant octopus hanging from the ceiling. Can't say anything about the food but we ordered 2 drinks: The Inside Passage and One-Eyed Willy. Very creative presentation and tasty drinks. The drinks had a lot of ice, but it didn't taste water-downed to me. The drinks are on the pricy side, but this over-the top tiki bar provides fun drinks and great ambiance! read more
I was so excited to come here when I discovered this place on Instagram. Its pretty much a hole in the wall located inside Rumba. They say they take walk ins but the bar seats a handful of people so it's best to get a reservation ahead of time if you want to get in. Now the place looks amazing (and so does Rumba) I loved the vibe. The drinks were good, but paying $20+ for a drink when they pack those cups with ice and I mean pack. Like fill with ice smash down with ice scooper and put more ice in. So your all that money for ice. I will say the drinks are on the strong side so thank goodness for that. But just be aware you're paying for the aesthetic more than anything. read more
1.23.2022 I was serching some hide spot in seattle and I found inside passage! Inside passage is location in Rumba. It wasn't hard to find and I was excited to try! Restaurant decor was super fun and they did amazing job creating huge octopus! One of our service explained how they created this octopus on the seeking and his service was amazing. Presentation was fun and they surprised my drink with non alcoholic. Food was okay and I would go this place for "food," but experiencing under the sea moment. I've been to many, many tiki bars. I even have a personal tiki bar with animated masks and thunderstorms. But then there is this one! Just look at the pictures. Nothing is going to top Inside Passage for decor, not even at a theme park. The room is a masterpiece of creative design. Best of all, it is small and intimate, making it really special. And of course the tiki drinks are excellent. There are two pages of creative modern tiki drinks, plus a page of classics. There is also a more ambitious approach to food than at other tiki bars. Although we didn't have time for a meal since we had dinner reservations elsewhere, all the food looked fabulous, and we wished we didn't have to leave. Note that you enter through the adjacent space, Rumba, and that Inside Passage is accessed through a speakeasy style door after checking in. I was in Seattle for a weekend trip and two separate groups I knew who were also traveling to Seattle planned to come to Inside Passage so I decided that I must go here since it seemed like a popular destination. Overall, very fun vibes. It feels like you are inside of a pirate ship theme with cut pictures or sailors and boats across the walls and a huge octopus structure on the ceiling. The drinks were so cute, they came in such cool designs like a treasure chest, and rice cooker with steam coming out of the top and also cute props with each drink. The drinks were actually quite small inside the large decorations but they were strong. We waited 2 hours since we had a large group. I would come for the cute drinks at least once if you've never been but probably won't come back as a regular given the long wait. read more
Very very strong drinks, almost hard to get one down in 1.5 hours allotted. Overall the ambiance was nice, but the walking around staff almost felt like there was a pressure ticking waiting for us to depart. Probably wouldn't go again, but it was a nice one and done experience. read more
