First of all the restaurant was not openly advertising the special anywhere on the menu or table. I've been coming to ihop Brea for sometime. Today was the first time with their new menu. It's quite a change up with refreshing new options. I had the Chicken Anytime Fajita Tacos, a side of fruit, a side of broccoli, and iced tea. All quite good and filling. Service was excellent and friendly. The waitress checked on us many times to see if we needed refills. BTW orange juice is now free refill and tastes pretty good. It was definitely an all around surprise and upbeat experience. I have to say we were all pleasantly surprised at the excellent service due to so many places having staffing shortages. Adonai was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. I had been bringing my family here for at least 7-8 years until recently. The last few times we had come to this location this year, the staff kept changing and there are now extremely rude workers and even more unsympathetic management that runs this location. Last visit was about a week or two ago. We were one of only two small families dining in the place, it was empty otherwise. It had taken almost 45 min to get our orders to us, we didn't order a lot. My daughter's eggs were so burnt that they were more browned than yellow, which made her pick at them. The waitress only came to take our order and never came back to refill our drinks or ask us any questions. She was EXTREMELY rude and short with my husband the entire time, cutting him off and walking away while he talked. My husband had to wave her down and tried to ask her about a promotion and she still interuppted him several times, even saying "I'm not going to take that" (as in honor the offer). He then asked if there were any promos going on and she didn't even make eye contact-she walked away *while* saying "nope" with such an attitude. We also always use the yelp check-in coupon when we go to pay for our meal. My husband was really frustrated at this point from the severely rude waitress, that when she said she wasn't going to take the yelp coupon that we have literally used EVERY VIST for the last 7 years, he asked for a manager. Manager didn't even offer an explanation or apology, he just said "yeah we don't take those anymore." Then why are they not communicating with yelp so countless customers don't face the same frustration? We went to a different location since then and they DID take the coupon.
