While at the Brea Mall I was hungry and wanted a pizza so I decided to drive this location. This location is very cool it's in the corner near the back near Macy's. It has a decent size amount of seating and the customer service is great. I did not have to wait any time to sit down and I was accommodated with all things that I ask for the food with me fresh and hot and it was delicious as usual I had a pizza and a salad and also some soup. great lunch deals they have also I love California pizza kitchen

Came in for their happy hour specials which is Monday through Friday, 3-6pm. Big plus is that they serve the happy hour in the whole restaurant and not only in the bar area. It's CPK, so service is professional and friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and modern. For happy hour we got their pizza and beer for $9, white corn guac & chips for $6, and the dynamite shrimp for $8. All dishes were excellent and nicely sized for the price. Everything tasted great. They also give you fresh and warm complimentary bread and dip. You can easily get full in their tasty bread and dip alone. It's a solid happy hour and I would go back again.

Came for Happy Hour (3-6, M-F) and they have some pretty good deals. Plus, it applies to the whole restaurant, not just the bar. Pizza and a beer for $9 - choices are original bbq chicken, pizza, or cheese. Other drinks are $5 (draft and bottled beer), $6 (well), and $7 (wines). Different food choices for $7-$8. Tried the white corn salsa and it had a good, spicy kick from the thinly shaved jalapeño. The Firecracker shrimp was good and the slaw made it better in texture and taste. Other times we've had the pizza and it's been good. Lots of selections to suit any taste. There's also a bake and take pizza for $9. Not sure what the choices are. For a Friday night (5pm), we were seating quickly and the service was quick and friendly. It's a pretty spacious place and is at one end of the Brea Mall. CPK is still going strong for that pizza fix and the happy hour is good.

CPK Brea is my favorite weekly after work destination for the last 3 years; although lately I have been adding a few more of the local "watering holes" to my playlist, I definitely visit my local CPK for their great servers like Chris, Amanda, Lauryn, and Elena! The managers are all stars who know me by name (Ann, Joe, and Julio) I enjoy their great Happy Hour menu, and pasta dishes! They keep me happy and satisfied after every visit!!

I figured it'd be good to revisit a place I've grown up eating at, everyone knows it! The hosts were very polite and accommodating, I waited for the rest of my party and they already went ahead and set the table up while I continued to wait, definitely real go getters. It's been a long time since I've visited but their main thing I always looked forward too as I sat down was their soft and crispy bread and olive oil. It's by far one of my favorite plates i get compared to other restaurants that give out the same before ordering. Since I've been, they've done some menu refreshing, I had to give their braised short rib ragu a try and really see how it would taste. Avocado egg rolls to start but not pictured, those have always been a staple, comes with 6 and they're decently sized. I'd say perfect size for a shareable. The short rib ragu itself had wonderful flavors. It wasn't too heavily drenched in sauce to where that's all I'd pick up, I'd say there was a little less short rib than I would have liked, I felt it was quickly done with it and still had a good amount of pasta to finish. Nonetheless the pasta tasted great; the short rib itself was tender... like very tender. I was pleased with it, it separated really easy, it wasn't dry, cooks did a great job with it! Definitely something I'd get again when I return. I wasnt feeling any room dessert but I was peer pressured into choosing something and I'm glad I did because it didn't make an impact, and everyone at my table was wowed with the upside down cheesecake. It was dense, but it wasn't too dense to where it felt heavy, the sauced fruits added a great refreshing spike with each bite, it's exactly how I like my cheesecakes to taste. I'm sure you have all been to a cpk at least once, it's one of those places that's been around the block for a while, I like how they aren't doing full crazy rebranding and changing their look, it's nice to visit and get a reminder of how the place was when I was younger, and the quality is still great which I'm always happy to see even as time goes on

Gift cards usually bring us here and we don't mind at all. I would not come here otherwise. Located on 2nd floor towards Macy's. This night was very busy, loud, and 3 kids crying at the same time. (Of course its parents issues)But there's alot happening. People seem to really like this place by the looks. Im not sure what I'm missing. The food and drinks are not that good and very expensive. Ill post a picture of the salad I was served with a spoon. I'm not sure if thats a joke but even my daughter's noodles pasta came with a spoon. We had to ask a waiter fixing another table for forks. When hostess seated us our table was uneven and kept rocking back and forth like alot. We asked to be moved and they did. Our waiter was mellow, softball spoken but did great with all the chaos around. His calmness kept me calm. He helped me with the rewards!! Complimentary appetizer when you sign up. The egg roll appetizer was really the only thing I like. The complimentary bread was soft and reminded me of our last visit at another location and bread was hard and crunchy so I'm big mad now. Lol

Lunch duo with Sedona Tortilla soup and Roasted Garlic Chicken pizza. Yummy!
    Leanne D.

My friend and I wanted a light lunch before we started our annual Christmas shopping so we ordered the soup and salad lunch duo($9.99)and the half sandwich and soup lunch duo ($14.99). Both were very good. Unfortunately they were out of our favorite Sedona tortilla soup due to supplier issues, so we ordered the creamy tomato basil soup which was actually very tasty ! Definitely hit the spot and gave us the boost we needed to shop til we dropped!

Dinner after shopping with my family. The food is amazing. It's fresh and delicious. My son love the mushrooms pepperoni sausage pizza and my daughter love the garlic cream fettuccini with rotini. Rotini is better for toddler because it's tender. The service is quick but the server is not friendly at all. They look very overwhelmed and it's hard to ask for drink refills. They got my pizza wrong and told us that they make a new one and should come out around 15 minutes but after 30 minutes, the pizza didn't come out. The manager went to the kitchen and gets it for us right away. He apologized and gives us credit for the pizza. I really appreciate the manager's effort to solve this problem. The restaurant is clean and spacious. I hope to get a better service and experience next time!

    TOSTADA PIZZA
    Johnny M.

California pizza kitchen has always been a tasty spot to eat. I had the Cedar plank salmon, Tostada pizza. Food came out fresh. Salmon was flavorful with a hint of smokiness from the cedar plank. The Tostada pizza was a Nice twist to a pizza. Staff were friendly. Although the host was on her phone when we walked up and did not look up to greet us for about 1 minute. I always say you can tell how clean a kitchen is by how well the bathrooms are maintained. The bathroom was a mess. With the open kitchen concept I was a little relieved to be able to see the cooks prepare the food but I expected higher standards with this concept.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. But you can also order the Ensenada tacos with shrimp. These were delicious, I would have loved a little more lime crema to go with the fish - but not a big deal. I got a Watermelon Margarita. I wasn't expecting it to be HUGE, but it was the perfect amount considering how much food we as a pair ordered. My friend ordered the La Toxica table side cocktail and one additional mango cocktail. Table side cocktail was a whole show and my friend really enjoyed it. We had a great lunch at Tempo Cantina. I can't wait to try more of their bar menu, maybe even at night when the restaurant is lively

It didn't taste as good and wasn't as juicy sadly. The sauces were still consistent but the pork belly itself was a bit lackluster from before Tinga taquitos- these used to be so juicy, the chicken inside was a bit dry and the tortilla itself was too thick. U def need to use the sauces they provide to offset the dryness Grilled Octopus- this dish was good, octopus was juicy but portion was a bit small for what it was. It also came with sweet potato fries Loaded fries- idk what I was expecting but these were just fries with buffalo chicken nuggets on top. Don't get me wrong this was decent and the buffalo chicken was tangy and juicy! Thirsty Thursday deals happen all day $7 margs and you know I had to get some. Mango was the sweetest, strawberry was not bad, guava was the best in balance of flavor in sweetness and alcohol. Overall not a bad experience but note if u haven't came here in a while, the food quality has changed sadly

I honestly don't know how The Refinery inside the Hilton in Brea manages to stay open. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the place looks nice when you walk in, but that's where the positives end. The service was painfully slow -- not the "busy restaurant" kind of slow, but the "did anyone remember we're here?" kind. We waited forever just to get water, and it somehow took even longer for the food. Then the food actually showed up... and wow. Bland, overpriced, and somehow still cold. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. For a restaurant attached to a Hilton, I expected at least basic quality, but this felt like cafeteria food with steakhouse prices. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we've had. We were seated on the patio and waited for 15 minutes without a single employee approaching our table. Not one server, host, or staff member stopped by to acknowledge us, offer water, or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. We actually timed it from the moment we sat down until the moment we left. What made the situation even more frustrating was that we were seated in the middle of the patio in plain sight. We watched multiple servers and staff members standing around the service station, chatting, sipping drinks, and looking around. Meanwhile, guests who were seated after us had their orders taken, received water, and were even served appetizers before anyone acknowledged our existence. For a restaurant charging premium prices, this level of service is completely unacceptable. On Father's Day of all days, when families are trying to enjoy a special meal together, the lack of attention and basic hospitality was astonishing. After 15 minutes, with my husband and son both hungry and frustrated, I walked up to what appeared to be the manager or owner and informed her that we were leaving because no one had come to our table. Her response was that she "wasn't aware." Frankly, that's not an acceptable answer. If you're managing or owning a restaurant, knowing whether your guests are being taken care of is part of the job. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally, dining at everything from small local establishments to high-end restaurants around the world. Out of the countless places I have visited, this experience easily ranks among my top 20 worst restaurant experiences. Not because the food was bad--we never even had the opportunity to order--but because the complete lack of service and awareness was that shocking. To make matters worse, after leaving, we went to North Italia. Within a few minutes of being seated, a server greeted us, acknowledged the Father's Day rush, offered us bread, and genuinely seemed concerned when we explained what had just happened. That simple act of hospitality immediately changed the tone of our afternoon. That is how a restaurant should be operated. That is what good management, training, and customer service look like. You make guests feel welcome, valued, and taken care of--even on one of the busiest dining days of the year. This restaurant, unfortunately, did the exact opposite. We left disappointed, hungry, and genuinely stunned by how poorly the situation was handled. Will we return? Absolutely not. There are far too many restaurants that appreciate their customers and understand the basics of hospitality for us to ever give this place another chance.
