I was a little concerned being so far from home but I was Pleasantly surprised with the great service we received. My wife had the streak omelet and I had the breakfast sandwich. It was a pit stop on our way to Knott's. We always get excellent service at the one close to home, since my wife really loves the omelet, we decided to stopped in. Everyone was great and even met the manager, he was polite. We make it a habit of meeting the managers to get to know them. Even just if it a hello. *** VARY RUDE MANAGER*** 2/8/16 I had two issues at this IHOP on this day. And this was my first visit and my last visit. Both hostess and waitress were very helpful and kind. Food was not bad at all. 1st issue the table across from my two sons and I finished up their meal and left. Promptly after them leaving a busboy came and clean the table up very quickly. Next he comes back with a dustpan and broom and is aggressively sweeping the floor underneath the table. I think this is always a very unprofessional in a restaurant setting to use a broom. The broom is only going to help kick up dust and dirt in the air.. So Ihop please invest in a non-powered vacuum. 2nd issue this so-called manager. After me and my boys were done with our breakfast I came to the cashier with my receipt in hand me the manager made eye contact he walked by me three times while I'm standing in front of the register with a receipt in my hand. I am a Hispanic man that owns a business in Brea and happens to have tattoos. And only until two Caucasian ladies walk up and stand next to me at the register he approaches the register. And greets the ladies takes third check processes their payment. While one of the ladies is signing her receipts he looks at me and says oh I didn't know you were ready to pay your bill.. With a smirk on his face. (he didn't think I was ready to pay)... ??? REALLY!!?? Then after that the ladies apologized a couple times, I said don't worry about it it wasn't your fault. I gave him my check with my credit card to process the payment he did not make eye contact or say anything after that. The staff were super patient and accommodating considering we were a large group with kids, but the food was just terrible. Quite possibly the worst meal I've had in my life, and I've had meals in Kenya (just kidding, Kenyan food is dope). The chicken sandwich was rubbery and had no taste. It somehow mushed together and fell apart at the same time. I'm not sure how it's possible to ruin a spicy chicken sandwich quite that bad. My son had the same experience with his cheese steak. It both looked and tasted disgusting. I wonder if the people managing the place have ever eaten from the dinner menu. Probably my mistake considering it's IHOP and they mainly focus on breakfast. My complaint is my mother in law paid the bill to surprise us but we checked in on yelp to get a $5 discount and he told her it would take 72 hrs to get her payment reversed to get her discount... We came on the morning of 4th of July. Our party of 8 arrived at 9:20. I put in my name with the manager at the front. He said, "we can only seat you when the whole party is here. Not 6 or 7 people." I replied, "yes everyone is here outside." He told me it would be just a few minutes. 20 minutes later, my brother went in to check on our table status all parties around us were seated. The manager then told him that they don't have a table for our group and we'd have to wait longer for a table. The 1 star is for the poor communication from the leadership at this establishment on the 4th of July. We would have happily waited without complaining had he originally told us that we'd have to wait longer to get two tables for our group. Additionally, 2 of the plates from out party of 8 were sent back because they were not prepared as ordered. And 2 other plates were served missing components of the meal. For example, pancakes were brought out but the rest of the meal--eggs, hash browns, and bacon--didn't come until halfway through the meal. The waitress, Mabel, said they would be right out but had forgotten and didn't remember until we reminded her. read more

The service was excellent and food was good. I got the bacon cheese and avocado omelette with hash browns and the wife got the chicken and waffles. The kid got a pancake with bacon and sausage. They give a decent amount of food. My only complaint I had about my omelette was that they put more bacon. Overall a good experience. read more

Today I've Had the Final Straw.. I Live in Brea and Love IHOP, I Would Drive 2 times a week 15 min down Imperial to the La Habra IHOP which btw is 4 Stars.. I Was so Happy and Told everyone i knew, that The Brea Location had Opened. My First Experience 1 week after opening was as expected, servers had no idea what was going on, food was actually ok. But i Got Charged $20 for 2- 5.99 Breakfast with no drinks. Uh HeLLO!! . I politely asked the cashier who had no idea what she was talking about, like i was born yesterday. Being the Gentleman i Am , I just brushed it off. I Have since returned 6 times and something is always off. Im not picky trust me, I eat Anything. But when i say crispy hash brown its obvious it still needs to me eatable. When I Say please no Whip Cream but ill take some extra Nutella. I get Back a Total Uneatable plate of Pancakes with a Glob of Nutella. I Looked at the Sweet Server, Like Honey bunch Really!! And Today I accidentally forgot that my Crepe order came with hash browns , so I ordered an extra Side. When my very Sweet server brought me 2 hash browns with my order and i said "Oh i thought my order didn't come with HashBrowns" It would have been nice to just say. No worries i can take it back, i would have 90% of the time just been you "know what don't worry about it" Which btw they where burt!!! Every time my better half and I come to Ichiban Japanese Restaurant for sushi, my son (Zachary) wants pancakes. So, I call ahead or walk over - and I guess the girls know me, because the first question out of their mouths is: "sushi night?" Lol. Yes, indeed! One of the servers, Ashley, is great. Absolutly the cleanest Ihop I've ever been to. While I was here for lunch I saw the owner not only scrubbing the tables but the walls. I think he was the owner, he was a older gentlemen in all black and short silver haircut. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his restaurant. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. Our server Nereyda was super friendly and professional. She gave us the same service as the people next to us. The bathrooms are super clean so you know the kitchen is too. Bad service! All I was able to order was coffee from the host that sat us. The waitress passed our table 4 times and did not even acknowledge that we there. This review is specifically for my last visit. My previous visits were great and the service was always great. However on the last visit the manager was the one who brought our food out for some reason and he was surprisingly rude for no reason. He didnt say hi at all just asked who ordered what and threw my plate down then when my sister mistakenly said a plate was hers he told her "oh come on you're on your phone" before rudely switching the plates and walking off. How is he in charge? I don't know! The best thing for this location would be for him to stay hidden in the back away from customers. read more

I just ate breakfast here. I ordered sausage links. They were cold. Must have been precooked. Swedish Crepes were hot, but a teaspoon of logan berries on top-not like picture where berries are plentiful. The Logan berry butter 1/2 teaspoon. I asked for more and waitress did bring a small amount more of the berries. I ordered a coke. I was brought a pepsi. I asked her for coke. I was told "No coke." She then went on to say "Pepsi better." There was an obvious language barrier. So I ended up with water as she told me "Only two drinks pepsi and ice tea." I can't imagine they sell only two types of drinks. Then it took another 15 minutes for her to take my bill and get my change as there "is no chasier yet- no come to work."
