My wife and I have never had anything but great service and food at this location. The serving staff appear young, but are unbelievable as to how hard they work. They are on top of their customers orders and keeping drinks topped off. I don't know who trains these workers but they are great at hiring, retaining and training..... IHOP has been a go-to restaurant for when we want a good simple meal. We don't necessarily expect anything special. But, tonight, we had an excellent surprise when the manager didn't charge us for our dinners simply because we had to wait a little longer than normal for our meals. We totally appreciated his honesty and professionalism and look forward to going back to this location. Also, we highly recommend the pot roast value meal. My girlfriend likes to get the chicken fajita omelet or the veggie omelet. And always the buttermilk pancakes. read more

We actually have an IHOP closer to our home than this Brea location. However, our Placentia location always seems relatively empty, but we wait in the lobby for a table. The staff at Brea welcome you right as you walk in the door, seat you immediately and are very professional & friendly. We always come with a coupon and receive an awesome value. I have only ever had wonderful team spirited service from our waitresses. Food is always done properly, served at right temperature and good quantity. I also noticed that many customers are regular and the servers call them by name and know what they prefer - that's good service. I honestly have never spoken with the manager (some restaurants have them walking around checking on customers), but I have never needed to speak with a manager since everything has always been fine. I have been to this location to eat breakfast for dinner on about 5 occasions and always had excellent service, food and value. read more

I usually come here on Sunday for a late breakfast. It's always pretty busy, but they seem to get your food out quickly. They raised their prices so I suggest getting something off their promo menu. Just "ate" here. I ordered a plain cheeseburger. When it arrived I saw it had thousand island on it. I took a piece of the meat without the sauce since it was awhile since I had seen the waitress, and to identify the patty in case they tried some shenanigans. I had to be somewhere else so I went to pay for my kid's food. While I was paying the food was ready, so they packed it to go for me. Iwas in a hurry to leave that I didn't check the order. After arriving at my new destination I was able to get to the burning hot burger. What a coincidence that it was missing the same piece I took off the "original" burger and still smelled and tasted like thousand island!? I called to talk to a manager, but was only able to talk to my waitress who told me that she threw mine away. This IHOP is only a couple of blocks from my house so I have visited this location often. I know what to expect from the food as it is a chain restaurant, however the service you receive is always a roll of the dice. However, the last couple of visits I have started to see a drop in service. The wait time to get greeted has increased, the time to have a server acknowledge you at your table has increased, and the time to get your food has increased. At times it seems like the servers are walking around with blinders. I have seen a server walk through tables and ignore customers with their hands up. Do not recommend this location. read more

I got my bill right after my food was delivered. I found this to be rude and asked for the manager. He was so rude to me and told me that this is how IHOP does it and basically if I did not like it, I can eat else where. He also said they want to get people in and out as fast as possible. So I go here often after work, I work at the mall and its crazy there so I like to get out. I come to this IHOP to order my favorite dish...the FUNNY FACE. Honestly, its busy at all the IHOPS but I go to this one because the service is still great and the food comes out fresh. Came into this Brea IHOP with hungry kids. I went to sit on the bench outside waiting for our names to be called. After 40-50 minutes of patiently waiting and not being called, I observed 3 other parties after us who had been sat. I asked the hostess and she became argumentative saying she had called me 3x's. I started off nicely saying, "you need to check the speaker outside it's not working or not on. She disregarded me and rolled her eyes. I then repeated to go outside and check the speaker. Again, she ignored me! I next went to the manager who disregarded me about the matter. We finally just left and wasted an hour without no apology but being blamed that "we didn't hear them call our name". That's not CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

i got a senior breakfast no drink (now 3.99) the breakfast was two skinny pieces of greasy bacon ( 2.00 extra for turkey bacon) one egg, (use to be two) hash browns which i think were leftover from someone elses plate ( such a small portion-and loose on plate) and two heals of two different kinds of bread with no butter. asked the waitress was the bread a joke. ....she brought me burnt toast and dish of butter and i asked why only one egg and she said that is what you get now for a senior meal. no longer two. then she came back and put two more eggs on the table. i used to come here once a week with my grandson before covid and had not been in awhile and the last several times it has got progessively worse in service, menu changes, increased prices that are almost a joke but i was hungry and thought i would give it one more shot well i should have gone to jack in the box and had a decent meal and one fourth the price. i did notice everyone was drinking water guess they will start charging for that too. i must say all the changes made are all bad and u know by the small number of customers and small staff i do believe ihop will soon be circling the drain. read more

Horrible Service!! Hostess called up my name and with the menus on her hands, then looked at me and said, "Oh sorry man, can you have a seat it will just be a minute". We were waiting for 30 extra minutes and our party was not called. Hostess kept sitting other parties of 6, 8, 5 and 3's and kept putting us aside. Unfortunately the manager that was present during the whole time, and when we went up to him, he did not do anything about it. For sure, I will never come back to this location ever again.
