I'll start by saying that overall the food was good. Typical of what one would expect at IHOP. I had to remove a star, though, because of the server (I think he was a server) who took our drink order. He came over promptly, which was very nice. However he didn't write down our order. Unless the server appears to be confident and experienced, I'm always skeptical of a server who doesn't write down orders. When they get it right, I'm crazy impressed. When they get it wrong, ugh. Hand, meet forehead. He brought our drinks for two of us. "Anything else?" Uh, yeah, where's my OJ and water. And his OJ and water? And the coffee? "Oh, okay." And he left. Brought one more person's drink. And, after reminded, another person's. Then he left. Grandma still didn't have her coffee. We flagged down another server and the coffee made its way to our table. Sans creamer. We found pen and paperless server and reminded him that we needed cream for the coffee. Both flavors: vanilla and half and half. And lots of it because grandma likes her coffee milky. He brought some, but not enough. After 5 trips to our table, we all finally had our drinks. Phew! Fortunately he wasn't the server who took our food orders. The lady who did that wrote it down (bonus points for her) and only forgot my toast. Forgivable. read more

The worst customer service experience and coming from a manager. Better train your managers properly and teach them the customer service 101. We waited longer than what they promised we will be seated and when my wife asked if our table is ready, the MANAGER SAID "we gave it to someone else already because we thought it was your party". We asked him how did he know it was the right party, but his respond was rude and didn't even apologized to us. NEVER AGAIN WILL EAT HERE OR ADVISE MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO GO HERE BAD BAD BAD BAD customer service specially for the white guy MANAGER. We stopped off at this IHOP by chance and are so glad we did! Josimar was our server and really made our dining experience SO nice. He was very friendly, kind and accommodating. Our food was delicious! We will definitely come back to see Josimar! read more

Good place to eat. Even tho it's on a busy street, the atmosphere is quiet and laid back. All the servers are very nice and to top it off the food is great. They also have kids eat free which is a great treat for parents. read more

Please do not come here ever. The manager Benito is racist. He didn't want to sit my brother and I because the rest of our party wasn't there. I understand this is the case sometimes which is fine. However, right after a Caucasian lady came and said the rest of her party was on the way. As she is speaking to him, she realized that some of her party was actually already there and had already been seated, so she went to join them. I asked him why they were seated even though their entire party wasn't there. He would not give me an explanation. He laughed in my face because I was clearly upset and he began to ignore me. I asked him for an explanation again. The truth is, I am Mexican and if I had been Caucasian like the other family, then I would have been seated. I wouldn't have had to wait for my entire party. I saw the difference in how he spoke to us and treated us. Then, the food wasn't that great. I was served raw potatoes. They kept forgetting things from our order. the other employees were kind but they were a mess. A shit show. Please don't come here, no deserves to be treated in that manner. This is my ultimate favorite IHOP ever. The manager, Charlie works cery hard and he is always efficient. He knows regular people by first name bases and he is always there. All the servers are very nice and they provide good service. Their app order is amazingly fast. Love this IHOP! read more

This place is a hit and miss restaurant. But it's like baseball, if your batting average is in the mid 200's I guess you are considered good. One out of 5 times the service sucks. Today it totally sucked. I was seated immediately and then had to wait for 15 mins to get coffee. And another 5 to place my order. If the place had been crowded at 9:30, I might have thought this was ok. As I stated I was seated immediately. My friend and I were greeted and seated as soon as we walked through the doors. We go to IHOP at least once every two weeks. This was my first time visiting this location in particular though and I can say that my overall experience is worth the 5 stars. I've been to a few IHOPS where I walked in and had to leave immediately because of the wait or environment. This IHOP however was very bright and clean! All the employees were very lively and they had very quick service which is a plus! Our waitress was also very nice and our food came so fast I was so surprised! Probably the quickest service I have gotten from any IHOP I have been to. Parking was very easy to find as well. read more

My experience here is always Amazing. My server Alexis has met my needs above and beyond. She is the beat at making hot chocolate and making sure our food is ready in a timely manner. Food was ok (both people who asked for crispy bacon had to send it back), the service was fine, but the manager needs to go back to customer service school. My daughter ordered the create your own face pancakes and wouldn't eat much of it. When I asked why, she said that the gogurt tasted funny. When I looked at the package it had expired a month ago. We very quietly and politely asked for the manager who apologized, took the item off the bill, then claimed that they freeze the gogurts and whoever served it didn't thaw it correctly and that is why the texture was wrong. Really??? Yogurt a month out of date is not right because it was thawed incorrectly? When I went to pay, the cashier was telling the manager that something was wrong with the computer. His reply was to tell her, in front of me, that it was not the computer but her fault. Someone brought up a check for $49 and left $60, but when the bill was scanned, the computer said the total was $64. The cashier then said that it was the waitress's issue. The manager said, no, printed out another receipt, and then asked me if I ordered a rooty tootie. I told him that it was not my check and then he left. No apology, nothing. After working retail for YEARS you NEVER have a conversation like that in front of customers. If the owners want to make this restaurant work, they need better management. There is a reason why there is no wait after church on a Sunday. I miss Millie's. Sam, Heather, and the gang would never serve us expired food nor treat others so poorly. Excited to have an Ihop so close to home. A little leery of this being a new Ihop which means the service would suffer. I was Pleasantly surprised with the great service we received from Marisol. I had the Diced Steak and eggs(13). I love the addition of grilled mushrooms on onions really makes the dish. My wife had the T Bone Steak and eggs(16) upgraded to pumpkin pancakes. T Bone was cooked a little under but delicious nonetheless. Pumpkin pancakes we're good and we were quite stuff. Love the fact that getting in and out of to the parking lot was such a breeze. The manager didn't smile or say hi, I think his name was Charlie. He had an attitude and made us feel unwelcomed. I don't even write reviews! but we did not have a good experience thanks to him.That was our second time there, we were 4 and a baby. First, when the manager was taking us to our table, I felt like he was rushing us to walk faster even when he noticed that my wife was carrying the baby. Then our table was too small for my family and he saw us struggling to fit inside the booth, but he did not try to accommodate our needs. Fortunately our server Adriana was fast, friendly and made sure our drinks were full. When we were paying for our meal, the manager was mean to the cashier, he made her feel like she was dumb for asking a question. I don't understand how the company lets a person like him represent Ihop. If he doesn't like working with customers, he should work in the back period. Me and my friend came here for brunch, we ordered and received the food promptly. When I began to eat my food I noticed black curly short hair inside. It was completely unappetizing and when I mentioned it the waitress took it back. It took 15 minutes to receive my remake and my friend ended up finishing her food by the time I got it. I was pleasantly surprised today on my visit to IHOP, Brea. I had been to the Placentia, Ca location and it was a terrible experience. I went to this one today, hoping to have a good experience and everything was on point. IHOP has to have one of the best buttermilk pancake recipes in the world. They are simply delicious. We were seated quickly, our server was quick and hospitable, our food was fresh and hot and everything was great tasting. The inside is brand new, clean and functions well. I would like to see a re-design up front where people are coming in and going out through the same narrow pathway. It got a bit confined there in that area. Second time here, this time with my wife and daughter (3) we had Sara as our waitress and she was great. Food is delicious, I had the chicken and waffles. Wife had chorizo omelet (which was too spicy for me...but I find some ketchups spicy so that's not saying much). We are happy this place opened up so close to us, we will be back! read more

I was so excited when I heard that an IHOP was going-in this location! I saw that after a long delay their open so I stopped-in for dinner recently and wasn't disappointed. The food is standard IHOP fare and tastes just like you would find at any other IHOP. The staff still seems to be trying to figure everything out but I got my food fairly quickly and my soda stayed topped-off. It's obvious how much work went into renovating this location and it looks a lot better than the old Millie's did. I think once people realize it's open this place is going to get real busy, real fast! read more

My wife and I have never had anything but great service and food at this location. The serving staff appear young, but are unbelievable as to how hard they work. They are on top of their customers orders and keeping drinks topped off. I don't know who trains these workers but they are great at hiring, retaining and training..... Corporate should give that person a raise or move them to corporate headquarters to train across the country. This Brea location should be the flagship for the country!!!!!!! Kids love this place. So I take my niece here regularly. She ordered the happy face pancakes. She enjoyed it but was miffed by the face (kids are weird). I had the veggie omelet with egg whites.
