Austin is known for having a lot of coffee, but very few have identifiable differentiators. Merfolk's creates coffee flavors based on fantasy lore, so you honestly never know what the special menu will have. That's why we keep spending our money there. Many of the drinks are sweet but the staff is more than happy to make adjustments as needed! The ambiance is also so cute and whimsical. I was surprised with what a wide variety of nitro cold brew drinks they had here! They also had a bunch of beer on tap, a huge list of cocktails and a huge list of Boozy Coffee Cocktails. So many cool and fun options here. Plus, some 5mg delta-9 drinks in the case...winnnn! I ended up going with the Mint Chocolate Chip speciality cold brew which added a nice creamy mocha and mint cold foam to their signature nitro drink. I absolutely loved this. The Dalgona was delicious, a creamy bend of coffee, sugar and whipped milk. Kratom is supposed to provide a nice euphoric buzz... let's see. On the other hand, Comunidad boasts an extensive cold pressed juice menu that easily rivals your (soon to be ex) favorite juice shop. So far, I've tried the Beeted, Good Girl, Equinox and Paradise... it's impossible to choose a favorite! Julissa, owner and holistic juice Queen, very clearly takes pride in offering these fresh, healthy and DELICIOUS options to the neighborhood. I can't wait to try the acai bowl.
