Cool spot. A friend recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. The cocktail menu is robust, but I must say they're froze. Coffee is easily #1, especially on a hot day.
Loved it here. Wish we lived in Austin. Wifey would bring me here all the time. And the doggies! They have a couple of food trucks open. Veracruz tacos were very good. Especially the fish tacos. Service was self serve pretty much Tried one fancy drink. It was very good
To be honest, I don't know how this place doesn't have a thousand reviews! This is easily one of the most unique cafe/beer gardens I have ever been to! It's pretty surreal. The atmosphere really sets it apart. They have so much seating, a koi pond, and beautiful greenery and art woven throughout the space. It's also perfect for any vibe really! You can show up in the afternoon wanting coffee and breakfast tacos, or lean into a happy hour vibes with drinks and pork tacos. This is a great spot to get work done during the day, do some creative writing, and it's also a great place to bring a friend and catch up. I wish every city had a place like this!
This place is an absolute vibe. I have been here the last two times I was in Texas visiting. The service is always good and the drinks are superb! My only complaint is both times I went, most of the tables had uneven legs. We were able to fix it though using napkins. I cant wait to go back!
This place is awesome! Parking is pretty solid. The food is pretty good! I love their taquitos! Service is pretty decent and the ambiance is great! I love eating at the second floor but not so much shading so bring a hat.
Great spot for drinks and dog friendly!! I love the mangonada margarita and my husband love the cosmic echoes beer The tacos were good but unfortunately the meat and tortilla was cold when we got the food Salsa / chips and queso guac combo was really good and great price Service is self order for the tacos - super simple but order at bar for drinks Plenty of outdoor seating - not too much of an indoor space Parking lot available and street parking too
Great place to chill and have drinks! They offer a variety on alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. A variety of coffee drinks were available, and adjacent is a spot to order tacos, nachos etc We came to chill. They have a spacious outdoor space, a natural water/green feature, and an outdoor upstairs seating area for views. Fun music playing overhead. We sat for a bit to chat before we headed for dinner.
This is definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area. The outdoor space is beautiful and perfect for letting kids or dogs explore supervised. I love spending time here and decompressing. As for the coffee itself, I wouldn't necessarily say it's the reason I come. The drinks are okay--more on the sweet, syrupy, and creative side if that's your thing. They do make a lot of cocktails and specialty alcoholic beverages, so I can see how that's a big plus for coming in the evening. I tend to strictly come in the morning and opt for a cortado and a taco from the taco shop onsite. The taco spot is pretty awesome--they make their tortillas in house and the staff is super friendly. Heads up, for those looking for authentic aguas frescas--you won't get them here as they use a syrup base form the bar for the drinks. They do offer elote in a cup and some other treats at times. 4/5 for ambience and tacos.
Was wondering around Austin and stumbled on this place. Was a great place to take a minute and relax. The best part is the free parking and as you approach the Biz, there is a lot of free form art work. As you step in, you hear water from the fountains and the whole place looks like a mini-retreat. There is a vast variety of coffee drinks and non alcoholic drinks. There is also a taco spot and dispensary. Our barista was super informative and helped explain to us about some of the coffee drinks as it was our first time there. Once we got our order ( 2 Cosmic Comet lattes), we headed to the rooftop where is was a great place to chill and relax. We found out in the pm its 21 and over and will head that way to try the tacos. Loved how it is tucked away in an East Austin neighborhood and just a great place to chill or work. Loved the misters they had down stairs, perfect for the heat!
Cosmic Saltillo is such a vibe. They had a live DJ when I went on a Saturday, which added great energy. I was greeted by the staff who were super nice. The drink menu has a nice mix of coffee and alcoholic options. I tried the Banana Cloud Cold Brew. I'm usually not a fan of banana flavors, but this one was smooth and not artificial at all. Plenty of seating and space to hang out, work, or study. My friend and I had such a great time, we ended up getting tacos there as well. Before we knew it, we had spent 4 hours there!! Definitely a spot I'd come back to.
When you've got that friend or family member coming in for the weekend, Cosmic Saltillo is the best choice for the following: 1. Outdoor breakfast tacos with the family (strollers & pets accepted) 2. Guys brunch at a picnic table 3. A rehash of last night with your best friend at the bar 4. The first stop for suburbanites who've come in town for the day The food menu is limited but the cocktail list has got something for everyone. It's beautiful and eclectic so great for photos. There's a parking garage around the corner and there's limited paid street parking.
There are so many spaces to try in Austin, but the one I have been dying to check out is Cosmic Saltillo off East 4th Street. Last weekend, with a group of friends, we all ventured to Cosmic Saltillo to check it out. Immediately, the space is extremely welcoming. The outdoor area feels like a peaceful garden with a small fountain, a stream, and wooden picnic tables and benches. Inside is the bar where the menu is filled with custom cocktails on tap and plenty of other options as well. We settled in on the upstairs balcony with a perfect view of Downtown Austin and the CapMetro Rail. There are quite a few tables up there and we were lucky to get one right as it opened up. As for the drinks, I started with their Nitro Espresso Cocktail which is a way of saying it is kinda basically sorta maybe an Espresso Martini. It was great. Next I drank a Coors Banquet to offset it, but their draft and bottled beer selection as a whole is great with some specific Cosmic collabs with local breweries. After that, I had their Frozen Boozy Coffee which is served in a special paper cup that looks eerily similar to the Wendy's logo. Once you try it, it is not a frozen hot chocolate. It is a boozy frosty and it is amazing. Lastly, I had a beergarita which is a margarita built on Vacancy Brewing's Super Agave lager and it was also fantastic. The nighttime atmosphere at Cosmic Saltillo is great especially if you are with great company like I was, but I can only imagine a Saturday afternoon being even better since the space is so welcoming and cozy. They have a full espresso and coffee bar and a taco joint but I tried neither. I will be coming back to Saltillo with a group because it is a great spot in a good area of Austin. The balcony feels like a cheat code with how it overlooks Cosmic itself and the Austin skyline. RIYL: Wendy's Chocolate Frosties if they were made with mezcal and tequila.
Loved this E Austin place for breakfast and coffee. Beautiful setting / could have spent the day hanging in the yard. Food was fresh and delicious. Lots of inventive drink options.
I LOVED THIS PLACE! From the music, to the location, to the people and ESPECIALLY the food and drinks, I was so excited to have stumbled upon this place. I'd walked by this place on many a drunken night, listening to the music and laughter coming from within, but never took the opportunity to visit. I had some free time on a sunday, I needed to get some work done, and what better place than a coffee/cocktail bar that has a cool take on tacos? After walking through the bar, and an outdoor seating area, I made it to the taco shop. The menu wasn't extensive, but it was detailed. I opted for a pina colada, and the fried chicken tacos. Now, please be patient cause they make everything (including the tortillas) from scratch. And I finished most of my drink before I got my food, but it was well worth the wait! The fried chicken was so crispy, but the craziest thing about these tacos were the shells: they were made of waffle cones! Which can throw one off, but it was surprisingly good. I have no clue how much I paid because I was so focused on the drinks and food, but I will be back! read more

This place is a combo cocktail bar with taqueria in the back. My review is specifically for Saltillo, the taqueria. First off, LOOK at this heaping pile of guacamole! I ate about a quarter of this stacked nachos entree for dinner before taking a photo of it, but for about $24, it was filling and delicious and kept me full until lunch the next day! The vibes at this location are really immaculate, too. There's indoor seating at Saltillo, covered seating outdoor next to Cosmic, and lots of picnic tables and lounge pits in the yard between the two venues. Now the service. The reason why this is a 3-star review. The service was awful - at least at Saltillo. After I finished my nachos, I ordered a margarita. The way you order is - you go up to a kiosk and get a ticket number. However, the employees here don't adhere to the ticket system. To pick up my nachos, I had to ask, "Is this number 162?" And the girl behind the counter just told me to take my food without confirming. Later, I got a margarita - by also ordering at the kiosk. And waited. And waited. And eventually went up again to the counter to ask the non-English speaking employees about it. Eventually the guy behind the counter said, "I gave your margarita to that guy!" I showed him my ticket. He repeated himself. I then went outside to ask the guy outside if he had ordered a margarita. Of course he said yes! During this AWKWARD CONVERSATION THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD, the employee banged on the glass and simply gave me a smaller version of the margarita I had paid for. I did not complain. I did not argue. I shall simply order the smaller margarita next time to not get shafted. read more

It's one of those trendy spots where every other person comes in with a laptop. Sometimes, they have DJs and whatnot. Drinks are okay, a bit more on an overpriced end when it comes to quality to price ratio. It's downtown adjacent area though, so no surprise here read more
TL;DR: Would 100% come back here for drinks with friends! Would not order food here again though. Drinks: The cocktails here are affordable and delicious! I ordered the Tequila Mangonada and would definitely order it again. They are generous with the tajin, and the mango flavor is definitely there. Food: Right next to the main establishment/seating area, there is a connected restaurant where you can get tacos. They were pricy at $5 each and unfortunately not as filling as I would have liked. Flavor is good, but I think my overall experience with the food felt mediocre. Ambiance: The outdoor seating area is really the selling point of the whole place. I loved how much shade and greenery there was on the first level: there was even a little fountain! My friend and I ended up going up to the second floor to drink since the first floor was already pretty filled and had music playing, and it is a nice experience up there too. There is plenty of seating, and you can get a nice view of the skyline too. read more

Cosmic is truly one of the coolest places I've ever been to. The PERFECT place to enjoy the sun on a good weather day. There are PLENTY of tables and seating, upstairs and downstairs. Great for big groups and small. I got two tacos while I was there. The brisket & egg + the al pastor. They were both beautiful in presentation and good in size. In terms of taste though, neither blew me away. Nevertheless, I would definitely come back. You don't come for the food, you come for the vibe, and the vibes are IMMACULATE. read more
Very cute beer garden in the heart of austin. The upstair seating area offers a great view of sunset, however, the tacos restaurant is right downstairs and the kitchen ventilation system points directly to us, so we were getting smoked with tacos smell the whole time. read more

This place was such a vibe! It's a tucked away gem among this street. Plenty of random parking near by, but as usual in Austin it was an adventure to find a spot. This is a bar slash cafe with food offerings. I didn't eat anything but my coffee was very good! They have lots of add on options as well. It honestly felt like I was in Vegas at the bar, and a patio garden ish area outside. I will be back! read more

Great atmosphere and drinks. Ordered chicken quesadillas and they were extremely soggy to the point I couldn't finish them. Hopefully it was a 1 off situation but very undercooked read more
I've heard great things about Cosmic Saltillo from all of my Austin friends. They recommended it for for coffee, for frozen drinks, for tacos... and even the occasional yoga popup. Glad I finally went. I went with one of my besties, and we went straight to the bar to order a frozen (and boozy) drink. The bartenders are friendly and let me sample a few bevs. I decided on the frozen matcha (and added rum); my gal pal got the "Boozy Coffee" served in a Wendy's-esque cup. If you're hungry, walk across the bar over to the taco bar located in a separate small building on the same bar grounds. The tacos were good - the tortillas tasted homemade - they were a good size, authentic flavor, not greasy, not salty... and spicy salsas.. The showstopper here are the vibes. It's like a bohemian backyard with a lot of lush plant life, canopy shades, water features to drown out the sound of the metrorail. Love that they don't do plastic cups and use eco-friendly straws. They do have a small parking lot and there's some street parking (metered). read more
The seating area here was BEAUTIFUL!! We went mid-day on Sunday and the vibes were high -- DJ was playing some jams, drinks were top tier with a lot of variation and very very reasonably priced. I will definitely visit this place again next time I am in Austin read more

What a nice addition to the East side. The staff is super friendly and provided quick service on a busy Sunday. Our cold brew was icy and strong. The outdoor patio is colorful with plenty of seating, but be careful to check the seat when you sit! There are several birds in the area. My only critique is the music piped in was very loud for an outdoor patio and I had to lean in to hear my friend. read more

The ambience here was amazing, plants, fountains, city views. Patio, balcony and small indoor seating avaliable. The out doors could use misting fans for the texas heat for sure! We only lasted outdoor for so long due to the heat! Play list was on POINT! The drink selection goes from non alcoholic , to craft cocktail, thc drinks and coffee with house made syrups! Staff was attentive. We didn't try the tacos but looking forward to trying them upon my next visit. Cute place for a weekday/weekend hang out - definitely would bring friends and family back to expierence this place with me! read more

One of the many run clubs in Austin starts from Cosmic Saltillo every Sunday morning. I joined for the first time. After a hot 3.5 mile run, I was anxious for a cool drink; not a coffee. I chose the Liquid Sunshine because it sounded refreshing and healthy, and I was right! Listed on the menu as a 16 oz energy and recovery elixir, it contained: - Pink Pitaya and Coconut, - Lime Aguas Frescas with Lost Pines Yaupon tea It is enhanced w/ Probiotics, Electrolytes, Theobromine, Antioxidants, and Bromelain It has everything you would want after a hot run, all for $6.50. Service is quick with a smile! The lush surroundings on the patio are perfect for hanging out for a while. Murals add color and character of the place. read more

I've been here a couple of times now and the vibes are immaculate. It's an outdoor/indoor space with great options for margs and tacos. I always get their frozen marg and a chips + salsa. You can go there during the day or in the evenings, it's easy to find seating even though it can get a bit busy. read more

This place was just okay food wise this visit. BUT, the VIBES were for sure 5 stars!! I loooooove the order yourself set up and the huge outdoor space, art, PLANTS, live music, and all the really cool areas to sit. I mean this place would be such a vibe in Charlotte. I'd probably work here everyday!! I really loved coming here and so happy we got to see it. I had high hopes for the food because it looked delicious! I ordered a couple breakfast tacos and chips and guac. Super simple items, they just really lacked flavor. It wasn't bad at all, it was just in need of salt, pepper and other seasonings. It was very nicely prepared though and looked great in my photos and videos. I would definitely give them a try again though!! Really great vibes! read more
If I lived in East Austin, this would be a weekly hang for sure. My friend and I were staying at a hotel nearby, and stopped in to Cosmic Saltillo on a Friday for a late breakfast. The patio is huge and vibey - with lots of tables for groups of all sizes, and plants galore. The bar is in a separate building from the food, and although we didn't get drinks this time around, we noted the large variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Food orders are placed through a kiosk - and then you get a text when your order is at the pick-up window! Ours was ready in less than 15 minutes. For such a cool spot, the food was just OK. Everything tasted a little bland ... although I enjoyed the crispy grilled tortilla on my bean and cheese burrito, and the chips tasted fresh. Even still, I'd come back the next time I'm in town to try their tasty-sounding drinks! read more

Unbelievable experience at Cosmic Saltillo. I was amazed. I went to an AM.Radio Morning DJ Set there. The DJs were fantastic. They definitely set the vibe and the energy there was electric. The drinks were great and you could see the joy on everyone's faces. There's an upstairs area as well if you want more space. Definitely a great venue for drinks, music and vibes. read more
