We were visiting my BFF in Austin, and I just knew I had to take my family here. I came with my BFF, my mom, and my aunt. They had me help them choose their drinks during this visit. Neither of them could finish their entire glass of beer, so I ended up chugging the remaining half of both of theirs. The customer service was so sweet--I was struggling to translate the menu with my mom, and the guy at the front desk was truly helpful throughout. It really raised the experience of this place during what could've been a relatively stressful situation. Dirty Horchata - I was hoping for a stronger horchata taste. It's not bad, so it was worth the shot! Just grateful it wasn't too sweet. My BFF felt the same, as we're both horchata fiends from growing up in Chicago. Cherry Cider - The cider has a tangy taste. The cherry flavor isn't as strong, but it's a fragrant drink. The flavor slowly became sweeter the more I drank it. It grew on me, but it wouldn't be my go-to unless I knew I was munching on something salty that night. Violet Blueberry Blonde - My favorite of the two. This one has a tamer flavor with a nicer floral note. It was exactly what I asked for. I felt like I could've easily chugged a few of these. The guy at the counter definitely chose a great pick. I love the low-key ambiance of this place, the peaceful nighttime atmosphere, the fact that it's wedged into a cozy nook, and how it isn't so LOUD like many bars. Didn't get bit by a mosquito while we hung out there for an hour, so that's a huge plus. They were probably chewing on my friends' legs too intently to consider me, though. $3 PBRs, open 24/7, what else can I ask for? Time to Order: We got here around 9:45AM. Walked over but they seem to have plenty of parking. Tons of outdoor and patio seating, a few tables indoors in the AC. I ordered the Flapjack, hot, with double espresso in a larger cup, with half sweetness (effectively a large with less services). Delicious saltiness and cinnamon! I really enjoyed this. I tried the honey lavender latte which they said was the least sweet of their fort favorites. The lavender flavor was very forward and there was a hint of sweetness on the back of the tongue, so very accurate. I didn't get as much coffee flavor here so maybe double espresso if that's important to you. Friends also tried the seasonal coconut macadamia latte (they said it was nice, like a sweet nutty flavor). Really solid coffee spot with great vibes, I'd come back. read more

I was looking for a spot with free Wi-Fi, coffee, and tea where I could sit outside, do some research, and make a few calls. That's when I came across The Buzz Mill. While scrolling through Yelp, I saw some patio photos that looked interesting enough to check it out--but let me tell you, the pictures didn't do it justice! Their outdoor space is huge, with a variety of seating areas that make it feel like a little hidden oasis. You enter through the patio from the parking lot, and it immediately feels inviting. There are string lights, shaded areas, umbrellas, canopies and, terraces, making it the perfect spot to hang out. The indoor seating is smaller, but there are still a few cozy spots if you prefer to be inside. Shoutout to Chandler and Brian for being super chill and welcoming! I just grabbed a small black coffee for a little over $2, and it was solid--definitely worth coming back for. I visited around 3 p.m. on a Friday, and while there was a good crowd, it was still comfortable enough to work without feeling distracted. There's a small stage under the terrace, which looks like it's used for live shows. Whether it's comedy, music, or something else, it seems like a great spot to catch an event. They even have some benches set up for an audience, which adds to the cozy venue vibe. Overall, The Buzz Mill is an amazing neighborhood hangout. I'm so glad it's in my neighborhood! And the best part? It's dog-friendly! There are water bowls scattered throughout--though they weren't filled, so I assume it's a self-serve situation or you can ask for water at the bar. This is a good spot. I came here between lunch and dinner time with a friend I had not seen in a while. It's dark inside, and there's dustiness that, oddly enough, kind of adds to the atmosphere. It's a cozy kind of place. We managed to just sit and catch up for over an hour and stay comfortable. There is outdoor seating, but it's getting a bit too hot to do that right now. The service is quick and the baristas and cashiers have always been friendly. I loved my matcha latte. I also ordered a muffin and it was moist and delicious. I'm told the regular coffee lattes are good too. They do have pretty big a variety of drink options to choose from and I have yet to try anything from the bar portions of their menu. Buzz is the perfect spot for drinks and grub. Not only do they have delicious, flavor-infused whiskeys, they also serve as a cafe with quality lattes and have a few food trucks on the grounds. I started and ended my day here because it was so good! In the morning, I came and got a honey badger latte, which was perfectly made and gave me all the hints of honey and cinnamon without being too sweet. In the evening, my friends and I enjoyed a variety of their infused drinks, pizza and cheesy garlic bread from the food truck onsite. I ordered the honey lavender whiskey on the rocks and got both flavor profiles. However, it quickly started tasting watered down with the ice so I definitely recommend just ordering the variety of infused whiskeys neat. The pumpkin crumble was also great and tasted just like a little treat. I had some of my friend's apply crumble whiskey and that was my favorite one by far, followed by the honey lavender. I met up with some friends at The Buzz Mill for some afternoon coffee. It was my first time here so I ordered a house favorite, the honey badger latte with oatmilk. It was a bit too sweet for my liking but still a nice treat. I like that this place also has a full bar and food trucks in the surrounding area. There's plenty of seating, mostly picnic tables outside with lots of shared areas. Came here on a first date. I like the campy vibe; it's open and low key, with lots of seating. Do plan to get hot/sweat a bit if you sit outside in summer, but in the evening it's nice! They also have various events eg karaoke, live music, etc during the week - they have flyers up on the wall that mention the dates for these. I had a beer and a whiskey drink here, both were fine and reasonably priced. There was no line the night we went so service was quick too. And when I checked in on Yelp I got a little coupon! Buzz mill is a cute and comfy location. The inside looks like an inn or tavern with big tables and benches. There is also a great outdoor area where we sat with my dog. The drinks were on point. We got the honey lavender latte and some tacos. The tacos are pre made and in a warmer so nothing special but not bad either. The meat was cooked in with the egg if that matters to you ie: chopped up bacon omelette vs eggs with a slice of bacon on top. We loved it here! I was looking up coffee shops near our hotel and this place popped up. We stopped by on a Thursday morning and the service was great - everyone was laughing and friendly. They have such a selection of things here. I got the apple butter latte and my wife for the honey badger - both iced. They were delicious and exactly what we needed. They are also dog friendly and have treats by the checkout so we had to get two of those for our babies. They loved them. There's also lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Officially opening Jan 20, 2023 at the Buzz Mill on Riverside Drive is a hot new burger food truck! With a 2-part menu and a separated cooking area for MEAT AND VEGAN options! Honestly so excited for this concept because it gives so much more options in one place. Went for the soft opening and got to try some of their menu items such as the Frontier burger (meat) and the queso blanco fries. We almost licked the queso out of the bottom of the fry container, so it was great. The Frontier burger was good as well, with BBQ sauce and onion rings in addition to a meat patty. Excited to see this truck to continue to serve customers and perfect their offering here in Austin. Wait was not long at all once we ordered, even with it being the soft opening. What a cool spot! My lavender latte with oatmilk, 1/2 sweet & light ice was perfect. Perfect coffee gets an automatic 5 stars. They also have yummy breakfast tacos in the morning. I tasted my hubby's taco and it was very tasty. I ate a breakfast bagel from a bagel truck in the yard. I love that there are food trucks outside. I enjoyed a sea salt & rosemary bagel with cheese & egg. That brekkie sammie was so satisfying. This spot is laid back and welcoming with friendly staff. There are only a few seats inside, but plenty of covered outdoor seating. Later in the day, lunch and dinner food trucks open and they begin selling infused moonshines. I look forward to checking that out. We walked over from where we were staying, but you could luck out with some street parking a few blocks away.
