Spacious, modern cafe, ideal for study or spending an afternoon reading a book there. I am a regular customer ever since the cafe opens. The baristas and store manager were very friendly and made really delicious coffee and matcha latte. The drinks and the people always made me feel great after a long work day. I recommended many friends to try and they claimed they have the best matcha latte with seasonal syrup. Recently they changed the entire team and the quality of service and drinks have been going downhill unfortunately. Their coffee and matcha latte taste bland and flat. Even though they may use the same ingredients, missing the key ingredient 'passion and enthusiasm' plus good barista skills are what made the quality and experience dropped. What a great little coffee shop. I stopped off here while waiting for friends, it's close enough to old town but feels miles away as it's on the quieter adjacent green street. There's plenty of seating inside and out. My only complaint is that it took a while to make my order, however the staff were really friendly and what took the time was that they do everything with care. One word: Chagaccino. That's all you need. That should be the reason why you're coming here. If you're unaware, Chaga mushroom coffee combines the benefits of both coffee and Chaga, a fungus known for its medicinal properties and widely known health benefits. It promotes gut health, inflammatory properties, Is rich in antioxidants, enhances energy without jitters, is rich in nutrients, and reduces stress. To add to all of those benefits, it also tastes delicious! I'm no doctor so take the chaga mushroom benefits with a grain of salt. #132 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. I was walking back to my car from another coffeeshop when I stumbled across this newly opened location of Ideology Coffee. I've been to the Glendale shop a few times, so I was intrigued to see a second branch here. This new location has a cute interior design with a white subway tile backsplash, slate blue patterned counter, a matching painted slate blue accent wall, black concrete floor, white industrial ceiling with hanging white lights, and an abundance of green foliage throughout the shop. The modern chic design and relaxed atmosphere harmonizes well with Pasadena's easygoing vibes. As for the drinks, they make their syrups in-house, so even their staple vanilla, caramel, lavender, hazelnut, and cinnamon-clove syrups are all house-made. I tried a cinnamon clove latte and the flavor was pretty subtle. It was still good, but I definitely wish the flavor was more prominent. I do like their vanilla lattes though, so next time I'll just stick with that. When in the Pasadena area, found an intimate coffee shop with a unique blue jasmine matcha drink. There are many coffee shops in the area but many are chains and I wanted to try this place because it's newer in the area and had lots of good reviews from its Glendale location. They also have a nice open and clean seating area for working and charger outlets all around, perfect for studying or working remotely. Parking on the street is free until 11am ! Quick and efficient service. There is also restrooms! Some of the overly hyped coffee shops in Pasadena don't have much space for working and no restrooms, so I like this place for all the tables available! read more

I've been to this coffee shop a few times now. I really enjoy the space which is airy and bright. Tables are well-spaced. Outlets galore for those who need to get work done. Coffee is high-quality and they even offer my favorite summer coffee drink - the espresso tonic! There is a pleasant and quiet outdoor seating area. Located at DeLacey and Green Street. I didn't have to wait to place an order which was great, since the service was so fast! I ordered the lox bagel + an iced matcha. I enjoyed both of them! The matcha was creamy and well mixed. The lox bagel was good, but it could've used some capers. Overall I enjoyed my meal, the service, and the ambiance. I spent a total of around $22, so do keep in mind that prices are a bit expensive. It is nice to have another coffee shop here in Pasadena. It is welcomed with all the other ones as well. For my first visit here I got the Iced Rose Latte and the Ricotta and Jam toast to go. Lots of tables though if you want to sit and get some work done. First the coffee: This was one of the best coffees I have had in awhile. It was sweet with just a hint of bitterness from the coffee and had the right balance between the coffee and milk. I could tase the rose flavor, subtle enough to not be overpowering, but not lost in the drink itself. Not too much ice as well so getting well worth your money unlike some other places. For the toast: This was lacking to me, hence the one star off. While made well there was just too much ricotta on there. The toast was a little floppy as well and so made it a little hard to eat with just my hands. The jam was sweet, but again with all the ricotta on there, it was just lost. So a little bit of a balencing needed, less ricotta and a little more jam. Overall I will be back to try out their other coffees soon. read more

In town for the weekend picked a close by, highly rated coffee shop to grab coffee and a light breakfast. This place was awesome. The menu is limited but, what they do, they do well. We ordered cold brew with there in house cinnamon & clove syrup and a splash of cream. It's pretty good, not overly sweet and you can still taste the coffee. I ordered the avocado toast and it was LOADED with avocado perfectly seasoned and the toast was toasted enough to hold the avocado but not so crunchy that it hurts your mouth; 10/10. My husband got the bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel. He loved it! The filling to bagel ratio was spot on and made it easy to bite. The service was friendly and quick! A couple regulars came in while we were there and it's clear the staff takes interest in their patrons but even as a non-regular we got the same great service. The ambiance is nailing trendy-local-coffee-shop. We were there around 10:20 on a Sunday morning and it was filled with people on laptops quietly keeping to themselves. This is great for people who need a quiet place to work but might not be great for friends grabbing coffee who want to chit chat and visit but that probably varies depending on the day/time. My favorite cafe in Pasadena! Come here to study at least once a week. The staff is super friendly and the ambience is excellent for productivity, with the natural lighting. Mind you they close at 6 on Sundays and there's no where mentioned that the kitchen closes at a certain time. If I try to place an order via Postmates it gives me the option to place an order. I love this place to come and do some work. It's not too loud and it's not too quiet either. Definitely picks up toward later in the morning during the week. Their coffee is always great - I usually get iced lattes. Their food is pretty good too. Parking is either on the street or in a parking structure in old town Pasadena. Check the street signs but I think during the weekday their street parking is free till about 11am or so, but again double check the signs! read more
