Hobby Lobby is my go-to place for crafts and home accents. Every time I visit the store there is something new to look at. The store is always clean and every time that I've asked an associate for assistance, they've always helped with a smile on their face. The costs are reasonable, there are always sales going on. And there's usually a 40% coupon available online. My ONLY complaint, and it's about hobby lobby in general, is that they need to update their darn cash wrap. I feel so bad for the associate that has to key punch in everything because they can't scan them. There is a large parking lot, so parking is never an issue, and it is easily accessible from the 8 freeway. The store is exactly what you expect from the Hobby Lobby brand. read more

Love this store! It is huge and packed with so many wonderful home decor items with a strong Christian theme throughout. I love shopping for holiday decor here! They have everything you could possibly need for crafting at pretty competitive prices especially if it's on sale. They have GREAT sales... I'm sad they got rid of their 40% off coupon off one item that they used to post every week. The retail clerks are all very friendly and the store is clean and organized the only draw back is many of their items are damaged. Idk if it happens in transport to the store or while displayed but many times I find things I want to buy and I have to search through several items to find one without damage it's a shame that they're not better cared for. So lesson is carefully look over your items prior to your purchase to save you a return. read more

Let me start by saying, I love this Hobby Lobby. I've found everything I've ever wanted in there, always in stock, without the need to even ask for help. It's super affordable and tends to be better quality than all the terrible crap on Amazon, even if its all made in China. It's always tidy, everything is in place, it's HUGE, and overall I just love being in there finding supplies for various projects. That being said, employees are scarce to find help but in comparison to Michaels, they're leagues ahead. So now that that is out of the way, let me explain why this store is earning 1 star. The "Customer Service Manager" (aka CSM, as you'll hear cashiers call this unpleasant individual), is an absolutely miserable person and should retire as soon as possible. Her name is Cheryl. On the receipt of every Hobby Lobby purchase it states clear as day, "Hobby Lobby values customer satisfaction with or without the receipt." Well, guess what. I had my receipt. And I came back promptly the next day. I returned 3 items - 1 unopen, 1 open, but unused (nothing removed or used) and 1 sealed product. I explain why I would like to return everything clearly. She then very gingerly calls for Cheryl. No answer. Calls her again. "I heard you, I'm coming." in a super MISERABLE tone. Maybe answer her the first time, Cheryl. So now Cheryl arrives and her curse-starting aura has engulfed everyone within a 6 foot radius. The cashier timidly explains to her why I am returning certain products, mostly the open ones. She then must "approve" based on the reasoning. Did I get my money back? Yes. But the face and overall tone was unacceptable. Not to mention the lack of disrespect for her coworkers, its no wonder they most likely hate working with you. My SO was next in line and wanted to return paint markers. Yes, the generic brand paint markers are bad and you should stick to sharpie or other brands. Hers had QC issues with one of them exploding upon first use. I have used 100s of paint markers. It happens from time to time, usually with cheap ones. So we explain all of this to her, and she literally rolled her eyes and said, "Well I guess these all just have to EnD Up In ThE TraSh ThEn..." ........ Did you REALLY need to add that comment, Cheryl? Where the hell else are they going to go? Why does it matter to you? Do you own Hobby Lobby? Will it ruin your whole day? They're paint markers Cheryl. Paint markers. And terrible ones. All you had to do was take one and try it yourself. And clearly, corporate doesn't care enough to exclude paint markers from the return policy, so maybe go write them a letter Cheryl. I'm sure they'll get back to you promptly. Hobby Lobby is great, but be prepared to encounter the customer service manager death eater known as Cheryl, should you need to return anything. And you will be put on a stage and tried by Judge CSM Cheryl. I pray she approves your case and your soul be spared! You've been warned!!! I have just recently been shopping here. I went to check out the yarn. The first time it was great! Large selection, color coded, easy to find exactly what I needed for a project. Now it is horrible....whomever is ordering the yarn is not ordering near enough to complete even a scarf,!!! Die lots must be the same and now I really do not know how they expect people to buy enough of the same die lots,!! Please educated, train, or help the person ordering yarn. Looooong lines but this is a craft and house decor heaven. They have everything you need at an extremely reasonable price. They offer everything from flowers to cake decorating to candles to frames to craft paint. Unbeatable prices. Very similar to micheals with a hint of homegoods. You can't go wrong with this place. I am writing this review pretty late because I just opened my canvas after it was stretched about a year ago. Whomever did it did such a horrible job. I didn't really pay attention but I should've noticed when it was extremely flimsy and skinny and not thick like a stretched canvas. I hung it up on my wall and it fell down the next day and that's when I noticed that it was just masking tape and pins stretched to a cardboard. I am very upset. I should've just gone to a mom and pop shop. I'm not sure how much I paid but I know my final bill was around $300 for such a crap job. I would not suggest you get anything framed here. This Hobby Lobby is HUGE! You will find whatever you need for arts and crafts here. I prefer Hobby Lobby over Michaels, since I feel it has more to offer. I stopped by for Christmas decor, which is currently 50% off. The aisles can be very messy and overwhelming, but they will close an aisle while they fix it up and then reopen it. I've actually never been to a Hobby Lobby before, but I've seen the enticing ads of wood, paint, cotton, canvas, metal, glass and silk [insert euphoric smile here]. Needless to say, visiting today was such a treat! I was surprised at how big the store was too. If you're a fan of home decor and bargain shopping this place fosters all of that goodness. I'm going to give them 5 stars across the board just for finally putting a store in San Diego. But seriously Hobby Lobby, all I asked for was that you put a store in town, within reasonable driving distance. You didn't have to actually plant it in my back yard! But I'm sure glad you did. Now whenever I need something it will be just around the corner, easy peasy. Hobby Lobby has its good points and its bad, just like any other business. I love their yarn, their paper crafting supplies, their fabric selection, and the fact that they have Crafts that the other stores don't have, which makes them uniquely interesting to me. Their prices are moderate, neither cheap nor sky high. They have sales that can be pretty good and they do put out one coupon per week. You can only use their coupon, which is pretty much always 40%, and on one item. They do not take coupons from Michael's, Joann's or Beverly's. I especially love their yarn, both in the selection and in the quality. They have such a wide variety of colors and most of them are very soft which makes them perfect for the kind of knitting and crocheting that I do. They have a pretty extensive home decorating section and floral section, though neither of those are as interesting to me personally. My home is decorated in yarn and needlecraft projects, haha! I do hope they will have some classes at this location. I enjoyed the classes that I used to take at Michaels a few years ago, especially the One Stroke Painting classes. Again, with them being so close, it would be very convenient to zip over here if they had any classes of interest to me. I'll cross my fingers! Since the store just opened I will try them out a few times before I evaluate their customer service and adjust my stars accordingly, if warranted. I know one friend who will be working here and I know she is a very friendly helpful person so I hope that will be representative of the kind of people they hire. Everyone I encountered today was wonderful. The only other thing I will mention, and it is not based on this store in particular but my experiences with the Hobby Lobbys I shop at in Arizona and other states. That is, to be a good consumer and check your receipts as you leave the store, especially if you live a distance away. I have occasionally found errors on the receipts where I did not get the discount price for something that was on sale or clearance, but that happens at Michaels and Joanns also. Within the past couple of weeks I have had to return to both Michaels and Joanns to have a price corrected because I was overcharged or did not receive the coupon discount. So just be aware and check your receipt as you're leaving the store or when you get to your car. That makes it a lot easier to go back in if there's a problem than to drive all the way home before you realize it. All that being said, Welcome to San Diego, Hobby Lobby! read more

A few days ago was my first day ever in any Hobby Lobby. I love crafts and decorating so I was really excited, but I was not impressed. I was going to get baskets, ribbon, flowers to make several gift baskets. When I first walked in, I thought I would like it, as it really it huge. Later though, I found it hard to find things and there were not staff available to ask. Also, there were a lot of tables marked with signs advertising certain sales, so I picked out a lot of items, but when I got to the register, many of them were not really on sale, which was a big pain. Also, I was really disappointed about buying baskets. Yes, they have a huge aisle of baskets, and they were advertised as 50% off, which sounded great, but when the basket originally costs $20, $10 is still too much to pay for a basket. I had wanted to browse though some other aisles, but with piles of things being stocked and lots of customers and carts, I couldn't fit through the pathway. Yes, there is a huge variety, but I did not like it there at all! read more

Where to start.... Went in to buy a frame and after I saw the prices I just laughed and walked around since I was there. Fun stuff but almost everything there you could find on Amazon for a better price. Even so, I found some blank tees and proceeded to check out. Stood there for several minutes at the one check out clerk struggling with a customer. I absolutely love this Hobby Lobby! There is usually a long line but it isn't because they do not have enough cashiers, they are just that busy. Their stockers are very knowledgeable and have always been able to help me find what ever I am looking for. I love this store! Their return policy and assistance with it is no hassle at all. I feel like I practically live here. If you look at the front of the store there is a little table where they advertise the classes available. My favorite instructor is Teresita Sherman, she does glass etching classes and wood photo transfers. Peggy is also awesome with glass painting, even if you are not an artist she makes it easy. You should try them out! Anyway, in case you couldn't tell I love this store #ILoveHobbyLobby. Don't forget to use a coupon daily for the cheapest shopping experience. I swear that whenever I walk into this store that I develop a major case of swivel head! I always find a ton of craft items that make me think...hell yes, I can do that! And then I remind myself of the other projects at home that still need to be worked on. And talk myself out of way too many projects from cake decorating to painting. I went to this store to buy some disposable pipping bags. I usually get a set of 100 which comes in a box. I was very disappointed to see they only had 4 boxes left and all the 4 boxes were opened and torn. It looked like they had less then 100 bags in all the boxes. I asked the lady who was stocking the shelves to see if she can check for unopened boxes at the back. Her answer to me was very disappointing. She basically told me to get whatever I find as she can't restock any items until the current items are sold. I then asked the cashier and she said the same thing and said if I buy this item then I cannot return it coz the box is torn. I will definitely think twice before returning to this store. read more

This is a HUGE hobby lobby. I was in the store for like 3 hours and still didn't see everything. It was Christmas decor hq, but there were some things i wish they had more of, like workers on the floor when i needed to find things. That being said, they could have been there, but in the sea of stuff, i missed them. I love that most of the store is on sale all the time, especially when its the stuff i need. The store was clean, fairly well stocked, and crowded with people. I will be coming back, but maybe when its not as crazy as it was today. I LOVE this place! The associates are very welcoming and friendly, and they have a huge selection of paper crafting and home decor items. I go to Michael's and Jo-Ann's quite often because of their coupons and paper crafting selection, but I love that Hobby Lobby has so many things that the other stores don't carry. For their paper crafting section there is a massive selection of stamps, paper, stickers (two long aisles, both sides!!), albums, craft storage, etc! You name it, they have it. I'm not the biggest fan of Hobby Lobby after some of their public statements against certain groups were made known, but sometimes they are the only ones that have what I need for my crafting purposes. Most recently I ordered an item online that came awry - the clasp did not work properly. I brought it in to return it and the checker was not exactly friendly, but she knew what she was doing and processed the return efficiently. Being that I only went in for a return and it only took about 5 min I can't really complain - everybody has off days I guess. read more

I really enjoy coming to this Hobby Lobby when I need something, especially if it's furniture as they always have sales. I also love getting my seasonal decorations from this establishment. This specific Hobby Lobby location is located in a strip mall, so there is always ample parking. No matter when I go, I always find parking next to the door. I also enjoy coming to this location as it's always clean and the workers are very friendly and helpful. It's very easy to spend several isles looking at the different decor items they ave for sale. When it comes to standing in line, its not painful and they always have an ample amount of cash registers open.
