I went to Jackson's after calling around to a couple places to find out about replacing the foam in my sofa cushions. One of the places I called recommended Jackson's. I went down to Jackson's (after I called first) and the nice gal there replaced all three of my sofa cushions on the spot. The price was very reasonable too! There are two separate areas where Cindy is outstanding. First is her selection of fabrics, whether you have someone else doing the work such as recovering a couch or if it is something small enough for Cindy to do the work, choose and buy the fabric here at Jackson's Fabric Corner. She can even verify the amount of yardage you will need. Second, when she does the work, it is outstanding. Due to health conditions, I needed my favorite chair "raised" by adding a 4 inch cushion. I picked out the fabric and Cindy made the perfect cushion. Later my sister was in the same boat, so back to Cindy, choose the fabric and Cindy made a great cushion that replaced one on my sister's couch so she can get up from the couch much more easily. read more

Had driven by a number of times. Finally decided to check it out. Walked in, no one there. Went to back, looked around. Finally a woman asked if we needed help. We mentioned we were just browsing. She asked what we were redoing. We looked bewildered. She mentioned it's only upholstery fabrics. We had no idea since the name only says FABRICS. We kept looking a bit regardless. So happy to find this place! This was the third place I went to in hopes to get some couch cushions fixed. I needed the inside cushion in a casing to stay in one piece. The first place I went was three weeks behind and the second place didn't seem eager for my business (they mostly did businesses). FIRST THING: If you are looking for fabrics to make clothes, this is NOT your store. But if you need any upholstery or curtain fabric, etc fabric choices...COME HERE. Came into Jackson's being unable to view anything online (no website listed). Took a chance hoping they had all sorts of fabric. Alas we quickly came to realize they only do upholstery fabrics and trims and things. We were greeted with a friendly hello from the shop keep and proceeded into the store in an industrial part of town. I've come to like fabric stores in industrial parts of town, they seem to be a bit more airy and lighting is always better so you can see the fabrics better without fluorescent lighting. And sure enough Jackson's had its roll ups up in back so there was plenty of natural light. We perused through the store to check out there selection as we did have a friend who was in the market to re-upholster her couch/make a couch cover. And they had some great patterns for a great price. The same or similar fabrics you'd see at Home Fabrics going for $15-20 a yard are like $8-10/yd here. So if you need upholstery fabrics, come here....all their patterns were also for current styles which is nice. Many stores keep outdated styles in stock. And I guess that's cool if you are vintage retro type for most people whats in now and would stand the test of time better is what they have here. Lots of great basics with nice patterns in a variety of fabric types. read more

The work done here was done exceptionally well with a fast turn around. I had 6 dining chair cushions reupholstered. These were very important items to me since they were passed down from my grandmother. I would definitely use them again and encourage anyone who is on the fence and thinking about using a slip shot upholster to just go with these guys and get it done right the first time!!! read more

The owner, Cindy, did a fantastic job reupholstering some cushions (which I also got from her) for my couch and love seat. This was done years ago, and they are still holding up like (well close to) the day I got them. This was done prior to Yelp, which is the reason for this delayed review. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. I had my work done at her old location, so I can't comment on the new place, but I would guess it's well worth looking into. I should also add that her prices are hard to beat. I have referred several people to her as well, who also have been happy with her work. Even my employer at the time had some upholstery work done to some of our department equipment, which also turned out great. Thanks for the great job! read more

Cindy was fantastic. She told me why certain fabrics are better for my dining room chairs than others. She reupholstered six chairs in three days counting a Sunday. The work is first rate. I recently needed some fabrics to go with a difficult color to match: purple. I went to every fabric store from National City to North County and was not satisfied with anything I saw. I went to Jackson's Fabric Corner in El Cajon and found both fabrics that were perfect for what I wanted! Not only that, but Cindy, the owner, custom-made the pillows, slipcovered 2 footstools and re-stuffed my couch cushions. I literally have a brand new living room for a fraction of the cost of new furniture replacement. Her prices are reasonable and her selection is great. She was very nice to work with and completed the order quite quickly.
