Contacted them with an inquiry about a small job on a lab coat for school. I got a response quickly, the price was fair and they said they'd be able to finish it within a reasonable time frame. When I got there, I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted, so the kind lady at the counter gave me some ideas and explained how the work would balance on the coat. I took my time, she was patient, answered questions, and even said, "I won't hover over you, take as long as you need." I asked if we could meet to purchase an embroidered ballcap for my friend who's being medically retired from the Navy. I was told that they'd be out of the shop off and on, and to send an email to set up the appointment just before we were scheduled to meet. I sent the email 2 hours prior. No response whatsoever. Bought my son a nice shirt for wearing around UCSD. Took it to a neighbor who had an embroidery machine. She botched the job. Bought a second shirt and took it to TCB where I had always had great service and results. Vicky was so attentive and patient. Everything turned out great... as always. Here's the thing about embroidery shops. There are a few things to consider. Stitch count matters. Not all machines are equal. Then there's the set-up process. Some shops are very controlling and limiting. Some charge a ton for their help. Others, like TCB, are wonderfully intuitive about what you are trying to come up with. And they don't charge for the simple stuff. Vicky seems to know what I am trying to draw and explain... which I do badly... and then she say, "Like this?" and I say - YES! I had recently purchased my daughter a new swim bag for her birthday and she really wanted her name embroidered on her bag like all the other kids on the swim team. I first contact Paradowskis (local swim shop) and they told me it would take about a week to get it done...my daughter was not willing to give up her new, cool bag for a week. So I decided to contact TCB after finding them via google. The owner told me that if I brought it to her on Monday morning they could have it back to me on the same day, ready to use for her practice that night. I dropped it off around 8:30am and she had it done by lunch time...pretty darn impressive! And to top it off, it looks perfect and my daughter LOVES it. Thanks TCB!
