In the photos on my phone I had the logo from one of my favorite metal bands, Trivium. The guy behind the counter quickly Googled Imaged it and brought the image up on his screen. He then walked to the screening machine with the t-shirt I had chosen. Less than 10 minutes later he returned with my brand new, freshly minted Trivium t-shirt. Frankly I'm amazed to not see a ton of awesome reviews here for Rich - or any reviews, for that…read morematter! Rich has been around for a while and DEFINITELY knows his business hands-down. My club worked with Mr. Soergel on the creation and embroidery of a large back patch, and through the whole (sometimes painstaking) process, Rich was superb. Through several iterations on artwork (that was the hard part - since we had a committee of reviewers and a bunch of small tweaks to work through as a result) Rich was great to work with, and maintained good communication and professionalism. Once we got together to pick the actual thread colors based on our artwork, it was clear that he has years of experience and knew exactly how to recommend the solutions that would result in the kind of outcome we were hoping for. Once we got the physical "proof" version in actual thread that we could touch and see in different light/angles, we were all thrilled - even the subtle shading elements were exceptionally well-captured and represented, and we're now eagerly awaiting our final products. Again, Rich was super professional, made great recommendations after getting to know our style, what we were looking for in a patch, what kind of use-cases we had, and made the whole process much easier than I anticipated it was going to be. He said he could and even remembered me from when he visited my guild and spoke. I ended up bringing in a second older machine that belonged to my mother and I wanted to give it to my niece. Every time I…read morehave been to that store recently (I'm from out of town but visit my mother frequently), I have experienced Kara. She should be teaching a master class on customer service. I'm a gen xer & remember decent customer service from yesteryear that seems like a thing of the past, but she has surpassed anything I have experienced. As soon as we walked in the door, she was passing by in the midst of her work and greeted us, and then asked if we needed help finding anything in particular. Every time I saw her in the store, she was so busy helping others or working with inventory when she wasn't tending to customers. She seemed to be aware of what was happening around her at all times and so attentive. I was very impressed with her, thinking she's the employee of a lifetime. She seemed to put all of herself into her job. She's unlike any store employee I've ever encountered and as I stated, really made an impression on me. Then I asked her if they have fabric because my store up North has a small selection. She said they don't currently have fabric but went above & beyond by letting me know which nearby stores would carry fabric. I felt like the 1939 Miracle on 34th Street movie when Santa referred a customer to Gimbals when Macy's didn't have what she was looking for. The next time I went there was for a curbside pickup order. I was expecting the usual lengthy wait and me having to call the store. She came out with my order like a minute later and again left me feeling that she was so engaging and professional. I had to check her name tag to leave a review. I'm the sort who isn't motivated to leave a review unless I have an exceptionally good or bad experience and Kara is without doubt the best in customer service experience I've ever had. She is hard working and helpful and in a league of her own. My usual Michaels experience is not being acknowledged by employees until I get to the checkout and get the impression I am imposing if I have to ask a question, so Kara truly stands out as exceptional. Her people skills and work ethic make me think that she would put all of herself into any job and be good at it and that if I were ever starting a business, I would want to hire her because she's a huge asset. She makes a huge difference there.

I selected another wavy American flag and when I went to check out which showed the price was $4.00 plus tax for a small iron on patch. That was irritating. It got worse when I went to check out ONLY self-checkout was available - even for cash. Not an employee in sight. I tried to use the self-checkout but it kept asking me to sign up as a member. I just threw the patch on the counter and walked out. I've shopped at Michael's many times and never been this frustrated.
